Basekit punishment for survivor toxicity?
In the current PTB survivors get punished for toxicity against the judgment. This works like: being in a range of 10m I think when you tbag 3 times or emote 3 times and it makes the survivor heretic (Judgment special status effect) and blocks exit gates.
This is a nice feature and fits the character of the killer, but ….
Why can’t this be basekit for all killers?
Becoming heretic doesn’t do anything vs other killers so it would need some changes:
If a survivor crouches or emotes 3 times in a short time:
-The survivor gets hindered (dont know how much would be fitting) and can’t leave through exit gates for 8 seconds
If survivors play normally it doesn’t change anything, it just punishes toxicity.
Should this be in the game for all killers (but keep the effect of applying heretic when facing the judgment)?
Comments
Survivors got basekit borrowed time, anti camp features, etc. Killers should absolutely get basekit antitoxicity
Some killers require you to crouch a lot at loops so that's going to be false positives off the charts.
But sure, and we can also have killers get stunned for 30s when they hit on hook or hump or nod. Or maybe we can stop being soft babies instead? This game has years of gameplay-related paint points that go unsolved but ya'll can't handle tbagging.
Its funny how people always claim teabagging to be only a matter of toxicity. Emoting is also used as a part of taunting the killer to change targets, escpecially at exit gates to buy enought time for your mates to survive. So bhvr intentionally kills of another strategy part on survivor. If we would go as far as killer bias, they would also need to get rid of killer BMing survivors, which is much more common nowadays.
Punishing killers for hitting on hook and humping is fine, but 30s would be a bit much (because the idea of a bit hindered in my comment is like nothing compared to that). Make it like giving the survivor on hook anticamp meter when hit and humping gives wiggle progression. Like my idea for survivors it wouldnt affect most gameplay. Nodding would be more difficult because some killers need to look up and down (similar to your crouch point). The constant crouch and uncrouch needs to happen rapidly for the anti toxic system to work, so it shouldn’t affect normal chases. I mean if they implement my idea it wouldn’t have an effect on you when you never tbag rapidly or bm
They also try killing slugging/tunneling which are needed strategy’s on killer side nowadays. Even than this could be used as a distraction, even more since killers now know you made yourself a better target. And tagging at the exit gates shouldnt be a thing, you can just stay and force the killer to push you out for distraction.
I second this and firmly will say. If we address one avenue of being toxic such as “Teabagging” sure whatever. That’s fine, but the other side must be addressed.
If a killer humps a few times or hits on hook a few times they will be stunned for X amount of seconds. I am ALL for these changes. Let’s go ahead and hit from both angles. It will certainly cut down on the toxic behavior.
Slugging/tunneling is another story for itself as it entirely dictrates the whole gameplay. Its pathetic to even mentioning this in here. Emoting at the exit is a thing and its fine in the case i told you. Youre just generalzing everything for your bias.
The problem with punishment mechanics like this, outside of minor thematic additions like with Judgement, is that it inevitably becomes an arms race of how players will BM with an increasing amount of false positives at every step.
Punish bagging 3 times at the exit gate? They'll start bagging twice. Punish that? They'll bag once. Now any injured survivor running towards an exit gate against Lich is screwed because dodging under flight of the damned is detected as BM.
The better approach is reducing the incentive. Make a basic m1 killer bot that works in every map, then let the killer silently abandon and swap out with it if no one is on hook after all the gens are done. Now you'll see more survivors just leaving because they don't want to waste time BMing a bot.
it could still catch some survivors of guard, but making the killer able to dc in endgame is good too. In fact I would love if even if the unhook protection would be disabled in endgame but that’s a discussion for another day. Still no reason to not implement my idea
Not being able to leave through the exit gates is a death sentence if you're in there near the killer. That'd be a severe penalty. The killer gets a free kill because someone crouched offensively.
Your point is still not valid, you could still emote like once or stay to force the killer to push you out and distract. But can’t help survors who crying because they can’t bm.
then dont tbag, like I said it needs to be rapid crouching and would reset after a second or two. And in my opinion survivors who tbag a killer who had a rough game in a survivor sided game, with 500 survivor basekit buffs and a company who only plays survivor, deserve to die.
Who gets taunted by a single emote? NONE. This makes no sense.
im explaining and giving points and you just deny anything. Is it really so hard to understand that it feels ######### getting bmed as killer in a survivor sided game, with BHVR who only caters to survivors? But what should i except from survivor mains.
Ah, there's the bias. Game is survivor-sided even though they're designed to lose more than they win. You went from "the penalty isn't very harsh" to "you deserve to die for tbagging."
You're assuming every tbagged killer is some poor victim having salt rubbed in their wounds. I almost never tbag unless the killer was a dick, like slugged over and over or BMed or something. And you want me to get killed against aomeone like that because I got a tiny bit of my frustration out? If you want survivors to act personality-less go play against bots.
But by your same reasoning though, a 30s stunning is perfectly fair. Hell, make it longer. If a killer is doing something gross then I guess they deserve to lose.
Thx for showing your true colors. there is no reason in discussing with someone having such a bias, thats commonly known being false.
well this discussion is degenerating fast isn't it?!
Going to close this right here before we start with more insults being flung around.
But for the record, there's no plans to introduce this Heresy / Heretic mechanic to other killers, its specific to The Judgement.
