Chaos Shuffle Encourages Smarter Play(On The Survivor's Side)

I've noticed that with this iteration of chaos shuffle, I and many other killers play killer drastically different. Without the looming thought of DS, sprint burst, and dead hard at the back of my mind, I can confidently punish survivors for their game throwing mistakes. Like punishing a forced body block hits by just waiting out the endurance. I've had so many games as Trickster(P 67) where I would hook someone and and walk away and within 10 seconds they would get unhooked. I'm a 110 killer, not Kaneki, why would I not go back to hook and tunnel when I haven't seen a glimpse of a soul elsewhere?

Has anyone else noticed this?

This sounds more like "Wow tunnelling is so much easier in this mode, now I know the survivors are more or less defenseless"

  • I enjoy chaos shuffle just because it forces me to use perks I would never otherwise use. Even if I never use them again I have a better understanding of them and that's always helpful. But I would change the title of your post. Chaos Shuffle does not encourage smarter play, at least not from survivors. What it does is highlight that most survivors are idiots. As a survivor main I don't let it dissuade me from playing, but I would say at least 60% of survivors couldn't play smart or with any kind of strategy if their actual life depended on it.

Haha, I'll take you're suggestion. When I played some surv games in Chaos, I had 2 teammates go down at shack and get hooked in basement. Safe to say the game was over from there. I ended up having to take the trade for both their hooks in basement.

There are also a number of killer quests/tomes that require X amount of hooks in the basement. Killers may be trying to get their tomes done in a more casual mode.

  • The funny thing is that Killers who tunnel right now in Chaos Shuffle simply never realized that they should just tunnel through things like DS in the regular gamemode. Anti-Tunnel measurements are small inconveniences and nothing which will really impact much, if the Killer player is any good.

Killer Players tunneling in Chaos Shuffle because of the lack of Anti-Tunnel while being afraid of it in the regular mode is the opposite of smart play.

If ds was that bad that you can tunnel through it then it wouldn't be meta, it's meta for a reason, tho as a Henry main I love sniping the survivors after they use ds as they feel they are safe and just hold W with no thought of dodging and of killer being able to down them quickly (it's still hard to snipe them and takes skill, just so you don't start saying Henry is a brain-dead killer, he is countered by DH still).

It is just the best Anti-Tunnel measurement which is available. But DS being the best Anti-Tunnel tool is the same as me saying that I am the best basketball player in my home. It is true, but meaningless.

Ds is not the best anti-tunnel tool actually, it's Shoulder the burden, a better anti-tunnel tool which can be combined with ds and it's a guarantee win if killer tunnels, if DS is "best Anti-tunnel tool" but killer can just tunnel through then I feel like it wouldn't be such a meta and something else would be used instead of it like off the record maybe, like DS is literally the reason it's easy to win against tunneling.

I dont really count Shoulder the Burden, mainly because I am not playing in a 4 man SWF. So for me it is random if a teammate even has Shoulder the Burden and if they actually know when to use it.

Same the other way around, if I use Shoulder the Burden, I would have no guarantee that the Survivor actually makes use of it and does not throw themselves away immediatly.

How is it a guaranteed win?

DS against a killer with mobility is nothing more than an inconvenience. StB might massively backfire, and doesn’t magically make the weakest link not the weakest link.

They’re stalling tools, nothing more. If that stalling is enough to make you lose games, then I have to ask why you allowed the other survivors to do gens nigh-uncontested.

I guess I could have worded it right. It requires more strategy on the survivors side.

To think you boiled it down to that. What I was really playing at was not to unhook in my terror radius and actually think. Why would I not punish a dumb play? Forgot that I should run across the map at 110 to get pre ran as Trickster.🤯

Well you get S Rank killer instinct now after breaking a few pallets, still works in Chaos Shuffle
