Until they fix cakes I refuse to play.

It boggles my mind that the devs think they can get away with this. And they probably will unless people keep spamming Reddit and here any anywhere else about how unhappy people are.

Make cakes common rarity you greedy losers. ######### are you thinking, this event is literally the worst pile of ######### you've put out in years.

THE ONLY REASON PEOPLE GRIND EVENT IS FOR THE COOL ITEMS AND CAKES. BRING THEM BACK. STOP PRETENDING THAT HOARDING CAKES IS A BAD THING.

Actually pathetic company. They cater to casuals and as usual the long time fans, the ones who put serious money into this game and play it for hours daily are the ones who are hit with these cake nerfs most.

######### me BHVR can you like, think about the players wishes for once?

  • Also I love how they have the ######### audacity to tell us this issue is "fixed" when they're still PURPLE ######### RARITY.

    ######### THE DEVS.

  • I want cakes buffed to 8th anni levels and earlier.

I want my 15 million BP back

I want remote hooking and pallet breaking for Killer in this event, which wouldn't really be enough to counter what we get as Survivors, but it'd make things a bit more bearable.

Even if they do all that, I'm still not sure I'd have it in me to keep playing because BHVR keeps making these kinds of mistakes that anyone would have seen coming a mile away.

Management at BHVR needs replacing, because the decision makers at BHVR clearly have no idea what they're doing.

  • Cake Drops are as intended. So they will not change them anymore, you playing or not playing will not change that either. So either you decide to not play the event to make a statement or you play it to get the most out of it.

People are genuinely complaining just to complain simply because "b-b-b-b-but its not 200 cakes per prestige how will I get my 3000 cakes like last year?" Its not like the game is losing any genuine players over this, its mainly just people who were already burnt out of the game and wanted an excuse to stop playing after 2000 hours.

Yeah also everybody somehow forget that this is every year. Every year there is a vocal amount of people on the forum yelling about the cakes spawn rate. Behavior can't do anything correct for those people as to me some of them just feel like they are doing the complaining because of the attention or drama of it.

This happens every anniversary so was not really expecting it to be different this year.

I get where people are coming from, even though I personally never hoard cakes because I don’t play enough to end up with a ton left over. The grind in this game is brutal and gets worse every time a new character is added, and cakes definitely make that grind easier. So, I understand their frustration, but throwing tantrums and name-calling won’t help. People need to calm down and offer constructive criticism, even if nothing ends up changing.

  • They can and will get away with a lot these days.

The community has shown time and time again that they don't care about how they are treated.

Walking dead was an absolute train wreck and instead of there being actual consequences, we just laughed it off.

At some point, we, the playerbase, are just getting what we deserve. If we show them, that they don't have to try, then why should they?

  • I have no idea why they even changed the cakes rarity and drop rate. They had no reason meddling with it.

Probably because people were hoarding thousands of cakes, and they want players to grind more. What better way to keep people playing and grinding for longer than by taking away their cakes?

  • At the rate this is going, next year's anniversary might as well be 1 cake per prestige. And when we complain about the decrease there will be newer players aaying "why are you complaining? Just to start drama?" Its clear that the events have simply been getting degraded over time. Take last blood moon event for example. Somehow the first couple years of it were the best ones and then they got worse. With much less rewards.

I'm also not understanding why they are coming up with all these prestige rewards while doing everything they can to make it take longer to prestige.

Its more likely more because them being Very Rare level makes them more likely to appear in the P100 characters bloodwebs thing that people complained in other events of not getting event offerings on them and in this one nobody has complained of that so it seems to be working.

But then you have everyone else complaining that they’re getting fewer because of the rarity, but I’ve seen people on Reddit say that cakes now appear on certain levels of the Bloodweb and it’s like 20 cakes per prestige or something along those lines.

This is most likely why they went with the double approach. Making them very rare guarantees at least one in every P50-Bloodweb and making them appear on specific levels guarantees a certain amount of Cakes. In the end, from what I have seen, with 5 Cakes burned each game you will get enough BPs so that with every 8-10 games you have 1 Prestige Level which gives you 27 Cakes. So people in the end will still have a lot of Cakes at the end of the event.

Yeah that does not take into effect the random cakes you can also still get I have had bloodwebs with several of them usually on the ones that gurantees one already.

Ill be the first then. Nothing changed since last year. But previous years you could get 3-5 cakes per lvl 50 bloodweb. Now u have to blow an entire lvl 50 bloodwebs worth of points per 1 cake. Which makes them extremely expensive and not worth gathering on p100s.

You could be right, but yeah there will be plenty of cakes regardless. I rarely have cakes left over from events, so I’m not complaining either way.

  • As for why not many p100s are complaining this year, is because of what they did last year. In year 8 i had 2 p100s and was able to collect cakes on my p100s just fine and then move on to prestiging new characters. There were like 3-5 cakes per bloodweb.

Then when year 9 rolled around they added auto leveling and p100s noticed in their lvl 50 bloodwebs theyd only get 0-1 cake each time. So the complaints started up asking why it happened and declaring it a bug etc, and then the devs went "ok we've fixed the problem :) you are now guaranteed only 1 cake per lvl 50 bloodweb" and then they shut the door, locked it, and left us to scream ignoring all feedback for p100s in every event since.

Now they've done the same to everyone, not just the p100s. So the complaints are much louder. But they've alredy said their "ok we've fixed the problem :)" (without fixing the problem) and locked the door leaving everyone to scream and ignore feedback. It happened again. And the players with p100s alredy lost hope about a year ago.

It's not as though the cakes actually affect the minimal grind we have substantially more than a bloody party streamers, though. These cakes aren't incredibly potent, they're a 10% increase.

To the overall topic I've never really understood this drama and it rolls around every year. Sure, I don't really know why BHVR bothered to change the rarity either, doesn't seem like it was worth doing, but at the end of the day cakes aren't so scarce you aren't coming out comfortably ahead by levelling your character between matches.

I really don't know why people want or expect thousands of cakes stocked at the end of the event. What difference does that actually make…?
It'd suck to run out of cakes during the event because they affect the event directly, but other than that they're just a themed replacement for a BPS.

I don't even know how you can run out of them. You get one about every two or three bloodweb levels guranteed and you get about 150k-250k every match if you are not tunneled out basically or the match falls a part like house of cards. You will get so many levels with that 150-250k that you have surplus of cakes even if you use another next match.

I’m lucky if I get that much with how my games are going. It’s probably because I’m playing solo. I’d imagine I’d get a lot more if I were playing with my friends, so rip to solo players. lol

Edit- I think I might try the play while you wait feature so I can get in some killer games, since I need to complete those challenges and hopefully earn some decent BPs.

I play solo with random perks all the time as my friend rarely plays this with me. Still most of the matches are around that 150-250k even on survivor side. Sometimes less when the match goes bad from the start.

  • Sometimes I think the people arguing in favor of getting less are actually devs in disguise or their relatives—maybe even their moms. It’s literally the 10th anniversary; all the event rewards have already been claimed, and they’re all ugly and limited to a tiny handful of characters. There was nothing innovative—nothing to make you go, "Ooh, for the 10th anniversary we have..."—and on top of that, they’re nerfing the community's favorite offerings with a bizarre excuse. The grind in this game is absurd; if you want to get everyone to P3, you have to play for years. It’s simply baffling that they’d cut back on this—what do they gain from it? Nothing. It’s incredible how they ruin things that were already good and didn't need changing

I can only speak from my own experience, but my games have been terrible lately, with a lot of tunneling and camping, or my teammates giving up after dropping like flies… even when it's not against a super strong killer! It's crazy.

Its more likely more because them being Very Rare level makes them more likely to appear in the P100 characters bloodwebs thing that people complained in other events of not getting event offerings on them and in this one nobody has complained of that so it seems to be working.

They should never have tampered with the rarity in the first place. Through Year 8 (Screech Cobbler), these event cakes and event items had a unique "Event" rarity that didn't affect the normal drop table.

This got changed last year, when they changed the entire rarity system, but at least the cakes were common, and perfectly grindable for players wishing to get their characters to P100, and have leftovers that would usually last the year, and also to help other players who were in the same lobby.

This year however, they flipped the script completely, made cakes so infrequent, they might as well have been Bloody Party Streamers. Not only do we get WAY less cakes in total, but the time investment needed to get them is too much for most players. That is why we are angry about this whole change, which was totally unnecessary, because it disrespects peoples' time. Not everyone can afford, or want to sit and grind for several full days, just to maybe get enough cakes to last the next cycle.

And here is the kicker: Due to the limited supply of cakes, people are refusing to use them for the matches played during the event.
