Trickster 110 abuse
I find trickster to be completely abusable depending on the map he's on. On map's with high rock loops like the one that got reworked with Skull Merchant(sorry I don't know the name), he feels completely countered by running him tightly around a rock you can't see over or get line of sight long enough to get a blade in. The same could be said with a chunk of indoor maps where it's corner after comer and pre-dropping like Hawkins. I know cutting line of sight is his counter play but man it get's excessive even for a P50 Trickster player like myself.
It usually take me a down and an injure to completely run out of knives and have to reload(sorry I don't have aim bot) so at times, I'd have to pause chase to get to a locker and lose distance while being 110. Meanwhile Jason can just walk by a pile of trash and instantly reload while being 115 at times. Make it make sense…
A compromise to the rework and being 110 would be nice in a buff where the less blades he has, the faster his base speed becomes up to being a 115 speed killer. Or at least be 115 when I run out of blades. Kinda like Spring trap. There's no reason I should be punished for being a ranged character when I don't have any knives to throw. it wouldn't be as powerful enough to bring him up all the way to Dracula or anything, which is not what I'm asking. It would just be ironing out a core flaw in his kit since you need constant line of sight opportunities to do anything with his power.

Trickster just isn't designed to be 4.4 I don't know why they did it.
Great idea, I personally advocated for trickster to be 4.6 back when is "rework" was still fresh, I explained the weaknesses of the power, and went in depth on some of the more intriguing aspects of his kit (and other people agreed with me as far as I can remember), yet these developers are paralytically worried about making killers even slightly playable.
As trickster you have to make a lot of compromises, especially with this rework, you are slower then normal(4.4), your blades don't drop or arc so you can't trick shot a knife over a wall and hit someone or throw a knife over a long range because there is so much trash everywhere, you have LESS blades then in the past so you have to reload more(nobody like this BHVR, give us our ammo back). Then there is the nature of the power itself, having to hit survivors multiple times takes time and you slow down in the throwing state so this power is very punishing if you can't land your shots, and even if you do land your shots if the survivors don't mess up you can easily lose the game.
Then there is the S-Rank, oh boy do I have something to talk about. First of all whose bright idea was it to make trickster glow neon pink and yellow? You have no stealth capabilities now because everyone can see you across three state lines. Then there is the 40 meter terror radius, I don't think I need to say more on why this is an incredibly stupid idea.
At this point give us the old 4.4 trickster back, yes we don't have the combo system, but we get more knives so we don't have to religiously go to our god and savior the lockers nearly as often.
All the devs would have to do is for a weekend, or maybe some sort of event mode make trickster 4.6, and I bet you the game wouldn't self destruct overnight, and if they made it permanent trickster players would probably be very thankful(at least I would be).
Just add you to the list of people who see the problem. I’ve written a recent post and participated in another post in detail recently, and last I checked it’s about 2/3 in favor of 4.6 and 1/3 not in favor to be pragmatic about the detracting comments about it.
My take is, artist and unknown are the other multi hit projectile killers and they are 4.6 because of how badly LOS breakers can flat out deny your power. Artist can send crows through the environment and Unknown can bounce his off the environment WITH a mobility power to boot. 4.6.
Trickster needs the most hits, and direct LOS to injure. I think every single other update in the rework is healthy, gives balanced counterplay, punishes spammy low skill play. Fantastic.
But both slowing him for using his power AND making it so he can’t fall back on M1 chase fundamentals when the map plus legit survivor skill make your power impractical if not fully impossible to use is an over correction of what was an over tuned killer. The over tuned being 4.6, 8 blade main event, no throw speed slow down penalty Trickster.
Last note, nobody likes camping, was Trickster arguably the best at it? Probably, but you’ve made it so hard to be aggressive in chase with some of the most heavily weighted maps that it becomes the only choice if you care about kills and potentially winning. So at the higher levels of play he gets exponentially worse to play as and against because he will have to camp at least moderately.
TLDR; make him 4.6 and leave every other nerf, change and update the rework brought him.
I like these suggestions. Let’s hope they reach some important eyes. 👀
I'd argue in modern DBD there are very few killers whose powers actually warrant them having slower movement speed.
If you made:
All 4.6, it wouldn't suddenly make them overpowered.
Personally i still think making blight 4.4 is pointless. God tier blights are still gonna go on 2k win streaks all it does is make him harder to play for normies. So i would move him back up to 4.6 and nerf him in some other way that actually addresses the problem.
The only killers i think at this point warrant it is probably just nurse and henry (specifically because he is designed to be a mobile artillery). Even spirit these days probably isn't powerful enough to warrant a 4.4 movement speed. Arguably chucky works as a 4.4 because his hitbox is smaller, so the pain of being 4.4 isn't as bad as being 4.6, but even that might be worth testing and seeing if it even makes him that much stronger.
While I am tempted to fully agree, the biggest difference between Huntress and Death Slinger is if they win one interaction with their ranged power they win the health state, 4.4 while feeling dreadful isn’t completely handicapping in my opinion.
Artist, Unknown and Trickster need to land multiple projectiles in a specific time frame, but only one of them is 4.4 and doesn’t have a projectile that can work around the environment. Plus, Trickster has to reload his projectile, which is even more of time suck whereas Artist and Unknown have a cooldown.
It feels wildly inconsistent in game design philosophy. Especially after Jason is a 4.4, single hit per health state ranged killer and gets to be 4.6 for interacting with his power; I especially see zero reason why PTB Cut Thru U Single can’t be basekit if they don’t want to make him fully 4.6 again.
Again, is 4.6 going to suddenly make them unstoppable monsters better than nurse? No, its going to maybe raise them a few ranks in the tier list at best, they will all still be bad killers.
They changed him from a generic chase ranged killer to a great area control proxy camper. I don't enjoy that too, but thats where we are.
I'm so glad the devs don't take this forum seriously goodness.
4.4m/s is justified if he can teleport to boards and pallets, has a dash function, and can potentially appear anywhere.
I don't understand why there isn't an intermediate category of 4.5 m/s.
Why not test it out? Why not throw it out on the PTB see if it makes any big differences, and then if it doesn't release it live. Give it a week or 2, and see if there is a problem, if it is, just revert it. Why are you so afraid of doing that??
We SHOULD be testing these types of things out on a regular basis, and make actual changes to things instead of just: "Oh we saw that doctor wasn't doing well, so we took one of his addons, made half of it basekit then nerfed the addon" oh wow thanks guys, you really saved doctor from being a ######### tier killer.
