where are the priorities..

you say youre going to spend extra time polishing up chapters, general balancing, and make sure ridiculous bugs dont happen.

- we now have a jim 2.0 with the tambourine (one-two-three-four perk)
- krasue was well balanced in the ptb and you somehow managed to churn out something worse than ghoul
- and also krasue can avoid flashlight saves in headform
- the myers rework which nobody asked for was nerfed even harder with the nerfs to slaughtering strike and other miniscule changes which add up
- what was even the point with this rework, you just adjusted his stalk mechanic to have an increased rate from far away which greatly improved the experience, only to completely remove it by nerfing his stalk range to 32m ???
- OTR and tenacity changes without pushing thru the anti-tunnel update
- the anti-tunnel update which couldve easily been tweaked numbers wise to make it more suitable was outright just pushed back
- vault locations bugged for survivors

it genuinely looks like all the time and money went towards making promo material for Krasue, which i can appreciate because it was a fun hype moment but genuinely what is the point if all things released take a turn for the worse.

    • I've always "defended" the devs, but I'm also starting to think that the buffs to Krasue are EXCLUSIVELY to incentivize sales. Just look at all the TikTok/YouTube videos coming out these days. Of course, all new content is successful on social media, but in this case, it's even more so when defending or saying "op" to Krasue. All free advertising. The priority is money
  • anti tunnel update shouldnt have gone through, alongside any balance changes done in relation to it.

it was a fundamentally flawed update that immediately gave birth to a slop named Krasue (who wasnt a good killer on ptb either, y'all just glanced over her power level or absurd lack of interactivity because it used to take time to get used to her power and the power dynamic was drastically different thanks to these flawed systems).

    • Some generators spawns are broken
    • Invis wall on red wood maps
    • Dracula, nurse, skull merchant, artist bugged ( some of these killers are unplayable)
    • Springtrap looks at the floor when he teleports while using the glitchtrap skin
    • broken totem spawns
    • Some killers can have permanent killer instinct
    • some killer’s red stain goes thru walls, making it impossible to mindgame.
      - krasue can avoid flashlights entirely in third person

    Labor of love

  • You forgot to mention matchmaking, which is literally non-functional and in my opinion the biggest problem with the game by a long shot. I have about 2,500 hours, have an escape rate slightly above the 40% average, yet today alone as I was queuing up for survivor matches got one lobby with a player who had 12 hours in the game and another lobby with a player who had 19 hours. And I could tell it was not due to lobby backfilling.

This type of matchmaking failure is inexcusable. The survivor experience will never get any better, especially for experienced solo queue players, until the system is fixed in such a way that this cannot happen. I’m pretty sure we’ve been promised multiple times in the past that the system would be improved, but still nothing has been done about it. The old system, as flawed as it was, felt way better, and at least for now we’d be better off if the devs simply reverted back to the old system rather than continuing to defend this busted system that isn’t even close to functional.

Indeed. The priority will always be money. We can complain until the end of days but if people continue to spend and the game keeps making money, it all falls on deaf ears.

I could be wrong but I'm starting to believe the old system felt better because the game had a different direction. MMR immediately brought the more competitive mindset, while the old system didn't (even when I was like Bronze III going up against Iri 1s all day).

Im with you here. I always give them the benefit of the doubt…but holy cow is something very clearly wrong. Is it lack of quality control? Poor leadership? Not very good programmers/developers?

    Its been SO bad

The craziest part for me still is that this is supposed to be the year of health. 😭

RIGHT. Meanwhile I feel like this has been the most unhealthy year this game and any game i have played for that matter, has ever had.

  • To be fair to the devs, the giant tambourine is not a jim 2.0.

Jim was so bad and egregious because it was released even though all it takes to see he’s out of place is loading into a match- meaning devs either didn’t even play a single match after making the lobby change and pushed the update, or saw it and decided to push it anyway.

On the flip side this is a bug that requires having one of Vecna’s two 20 items, it is reasonable to think devs didn’t test acquiring it and using the tambourine, you could easily miss that while testing.

It's up there for sure. They don't seem to be hitting their goals on time, which is understandable, but why double down then? So far none of the proposed changes have gone down as planned and end up getting pulled. It's painful to watch and even worse to play. 😭 In my opinion.

  • We can add this springtrap bug to the list of additions this update. When the fireaxe is implanted on a survivor…its just chillin on the ground lmao

Took this at exit gate cuz less grass. Also weird seeing another touka. thought i was the only one

Yeah, Springtrap has been really bugged this patch. I played a match last night and all I saw was the ground whenever I used the security doors. Also, the end-screen becomes solid black whenever you play as or against Springtrap.

Not to mention that Lights-Out-esque darkness bug when you spectate and someone uses the security door.

  • Ooh I missed that bug. It looks really cool on Midwich.

  • It really did look cool. I'm for bringing back darkness offerings and other weather-type changes. Would be neat.

It literally makes no sense to me because why, as a potential stakeholder looming over the game, incentivise a poor product that acts like a cash crop that lasts maybe a week, rather than actually letting ( if given the opportunity, potentially decent) developers actually perfect the product and ensure profit margins over a longer period of time and also bring good reviews to the game😭

Stakeholders have been the worse thing ever for the current gaming era

I disagree. For the first time in a while playing killer wasn't a chore and I didn't have to run regression perks like scourge hook or pop. I could actually use other perks like oppression or something if I didn't tunnel (which i try not to, unless someone clearly wants my attention). Obviously there were some glaring issues but those could've easily been fixed.

And regardless if the update was released alongside krasue or not, krasue was a decent killer on the ptb. I think everyone prefers a killer that is slightly underpowered than the ghoul x nemesis crap we have rn.

playing killer with this update was the most boring and mindnumbing experience i've had.

i had to do pretty much zero management, just run to red aura and monkey brain chase because that was the only real option I had.

it got mildly interesting only if I played old designs that took some skill in chase at least and were underpowered because of the restrictions.

playing the killer balanced for this update didnt even make chases interesting.

im glad you enjoy it, but I would've quit the game (at least playing public matches) if it went through because it is miserable. I would've lost maybe 5% of my killrate, but the enjoyment from playing would've gone down by 100%.

I was a big dummy in another thread and said it'd be neat to see the RPD with rain outside. But it's so minor it's easy to forget. A downpour would be really cool.

But at the same time, I feel like weather effects would be buggy and they'd be rallied against until they become worse than Reagents (but still hung around in the blood web of course).

I know there's some backing from the Canadian government. You see it in the splash screen. Not sure the extent of that. Additionally, they only really have to prove how much money the game is going to make (which it does) and have some in-office demo of the gameplay like they did when they were teasing Lights Out. They can comfortably keep the suits in the dark about most of it. I think even something like TWD stream is far enough removed from the license that it doesn't threaten that either.\

I agree though. It's sort of like the chokehold Nintendo had in the 90s.
