Came back after 1 year and it looks the same, almost no improvements at all

well, after a sale in steam some friends decided to start DBD and I said, why not comeback to play it…

some killers still OP as hell like Wesker for beginners…even for some advanced players.

Playing alone in rank 1 a Wesker decided to tunnel me and we lost without doing a generator, I understand the randoms are bad, but they didnt managed to make a gen, ######### is happening.

Some balances need to be done. inclusive to match matching. Wesker and Blight way better than others killers since forever.

This is my last try at DBD, now I understand when people say its dying.

Hope someone from the Behaviour listen.

The company needs to adjust its behaviour to absorb the feedback from players.

  • Come back in another year. Killers will be stronger and survivors will be weaker. Solo survivor will be absolutely decimated. Tunnelling will only be stronger.

Come back and enjoy that 60%+ kill rate.

  • Tunnelling is so stupid, game released almost 10 years ago and this still happens. They should BLOCK hooks when only the same player has been hooked in the game, simple solution.

  • Wesker is not overpowered, there are no ranks anymore (grades have no impact on matchmaking), DS will receive a buff, which also makes tunneling weaker as a result and if you die at 5 gens remaining then that's a skill issue.

To counter, Wesker is a bit too good at tunneling, DS will get a buff but it won't really change anything and dying at five gens has almost nothing to do with you and everything to do with your team.

Wesker has issues, yes. And they should be fixed. But he is not overpowered.

The DS buff will nerf the strength of tunneling. The issue will not go away but it's a start and definitely a step in the right direction.

I didn't say op was the one with a skill issue. It could go both ways. Either their team mates didn't do gens or op lasted about 5 seconds in chase. Either way it comes down to skill issue.

  • I feel like Wesker is barely even top 10, he is a far weaker version of nurse with a side quest mechanic. Like nothing is funnier to me than baiting a Wesker to go out a window, I know he's a strong killer but he's far more fair than even some killers weaker than him as in if you play very safe he shouldn't be catching you off guard at all.

The DS buff isn't going to do much for most people.

I also didn't accuse you of saying OP was bad, just remarked that it might not be the player who is dead at five gens fault.

  • It's because they are balancing the game for top mmr 4-man swf.

  • I swear depending on who you ask the last year of this game has:

Broken the game to the point you'd think it's kicked someone's dog.

Saved the game from the evil that was Old Skull Merchant and released some of the coolest killers we've had.

Done absolutely nothing and kept the game the same.

Idk about the rest of y'all, but this feels like one of the better runs DBD has had. There haven't been many game breaking additions, most maps are fine, I can win a pretty even amount of my Killer and Duo Survivor games. As someone who's been playing since launch, just wait until we get another L chapter, then everyone is going to be begging to play what we currently have.

my dude they never nerf survivor meta perks like life sprint burst and balance and the killer meta has changed like over 5 times already stop the cope you're just bad.

  • You have no one to blame but yourself. You were out but chose to come back in.

Regarding DS, we'll have to wait and see. I have my doubts we'll see a huge decrease in tunneling but we're probably on the same page that the DS buff is a positive regardless. To massively reduce tunneling though, there will need to be some more changes.

Base kit BT could be adjusted to make it more healthy for both sides and OTR could get some small buffs as well.

    @Xernoton said:

With the upcoming buff to DS we are going to experience a higher pick rate of this perk. This will also lead to more players using it the way OTR was used right after the buff. We have seen this exact issue before, so this is not a theory but a fact.

There have been arguments about whether or not to fix these issues and how effective the aggressive use of these perks is. However, the existing anti tunneling measures have some flaws as well. So I suggest a fix to both of these:

    1. Base kit BT (maybe the perk too?) grants complete invulnerability to killer powers and attacks but removes the survivor's collision with the killer. This allows that survivor to get away from the killer without getting hit right off the hook and increases the strength of OTR but also removes the cases in which survivors force the killer's hand by bodyblocking.
    2. DS and OTR additionally grant you Bond's effect for as long as they remain active but both deactivate on protection hits, so you can't use either of them for bodyblocks. Some adjustments could be made to the protection hit mechanic to make it more consistent without gutting either DS or OTR. That could also make MoM a slightly more reliable perk.
    3. Flashlights and flashbangs cannot be used until a conspicuous action was performed or the duration of the perks has ended. They don't help against tunneling anyway and this also removes the possibility of survivors trying to use their anti tunnel perks to safely get a flashlight / flashbang save on their team mates.
    4. Anti tunnel perks can only be active on up to 2 survivors at once to ensure that we don't create weird situations in which the killer goes for different survivors but is then punished regardless for playing too well.

This would increase the existing protection against tunneling, make different anti tunneling perks more viable (although OTR could increase the speed with which you are healed by 50% for as long as it remains active to not be overshadowed by DS) and prevent the issue of anti tunneling perks used aggressively.

What do you think of these suggestions?

I made this post yesterday, suggesting a few changes to make anti tunneling perks stronger and remove the chance for them to be misused.

  • Look I am the first to throw shade at BHVR over game play changes etc but I think to say there are almost no improvements in the last year is just not true and pretty ignorant (not meaning that is a personal isult to be clear).

I cant even keep track of everything but previous patch notes have some pretty drastic changes, with the self unhook anti face-camp mechanic probably being one of the biggest positive changes. Oh and you may have missed the Lights Out modifier event, which actually brought me back to DBD after a long break and I had an enormous amount of fun in this.

BHVR are interested in retaining players and making sure everyone has the best experience possible and clearly tunnelling in particular is on their radar. The recent announcement on the DS buff leaves me no doubt they are hearing the complaints about tunnelling and I think we will see some interesting mechanics in the future

Some of this also sounds like the classic 'skill issue' problem, sorry to say

If most people cannot get to a loop after a 5 second stun, that is a MASSSIVE skill issue and they deserve to go down again. Thats like the people with 4 slowdowns complaining their gens went too fast, at that point perks cannot play the game for you, either you get better or continue to get Ls.

It's completely possible against movement speed Killers and new maps being absolutely filled with deadzones.

Keep in mind the stun is 5 seconds, but that's not how much distance you get.

I agree with most of this, but I will say it's very map dependent. Not only do some maps have big dead zones but there's also a chance that most resources have been depleted so there is no pallet or window to get to. It's not as if DS is guarenteed to save you. If it was it would be extremely unfair.
