Trapper nerfed hard, seriously
He is already bad. His only saving grace is snowballing, especially the basement. If he hooks around his traps, he needs to leave to prevent a free unhook. Anti-camp mechanic makes an already bad Killer worse.

its fine. unless hes right in their face spending 5 secons extra to reset a trap wont get them off hook.
Nah bro hese in a fine spot with no needed changes whatsoever
🗿
I don't think preventing any killer from camping should be considered a direct nerf to them, to be fair.
Besides, you get the snowball pressure from survivors stepping in the traps you set around the hook, so as long as that's happening the anti-FC mechanic is already moving a lot slower. Also, he did get buffs in this patch that, provided they aren't weakened from the PTB, do make him stronger for things other than camping.
He’s a territorial Killer. Usually focusing traps on a certain area. A trapped Survivor will likely be placed on a nearby hook creating a radius in his territory that needs to be avoided. A small speed boost when placing traps is a laughable “buff.”
That area is pretty significantly larger than sixteen metres, though, and again- if he's chasing a survivor, which is the thing he's meant to be doing inside his territory, the anti-FC system is weakened considerably. Nothing's changed about Trapper being territorial, he just has to be active within his territory, which isn't meaningfully a nerf if you play him skilfully.
As for the speed boost, pair it with the Coffee Grounds addon and a setting speed addon and see how laughable it actually is. It's not nothing, it helped quite a bit on the PTB.
Ah, so Trapper is weak because people are not skillful enough.
Obviously 🗿
Now, let's stop and think about this for a moment. Did I just say that Trapper is weak because people are not skilful enough?
It's clear that I'm referring to a very very specific thing as not being skilful: Getting a hook and passively wandering around (within 16m) instead of engaging survivors in chase. Is it required to be that passive while playing Trapper? No, the degree to which you can get results with Trapper (which isn't much) is defined instead by how active you are, and how well you capitalise on survivor positioning.
With that in mind, is this a fair response to my post? I don't think it is. I think it's squashing together several different angles on the wider topic of Trapper's balance, and isn't at all a response to the specific thing I was actually saying nor the specific thing this post is actually saying.
Within the context of the anti-FC change, skilful Trapper play won't be affected. Does that mean skilful Trapper play is rewarding and strong outside of that context? Not particularly, but it's better than skill-less Trapper play, and it isn't affected by the anti-FC change.
Huh? Who face camps with Trapper in basement? That just makes it so people don't come in...
The common Trapper basement strat I see is trap up the basement leaving two openings, get a hook in basement, then trap up so there is one remaining entrance, then leave out of the one exit available.
Then if survivors spend time assing about with traps you get a notification, and either push them off and get your second hook stage, or if they go in, you come in blocking the one entrance with your body and force the unhooked survivor to run out of BT for another down, or step in a trap, while also getting free damage and a potential trap on the rescue survivor as well...
Then reset the same set up now with 2 people in basement... I've never seen a face camping basement Trapper... the point is you WANT them to go in for the save...
You don't directly camp with trapper tho. you set up your traps and leave the area.
So his only saving grace is camping the basement. 😐
I play a decent amount of Trapper, and maybe one game in ten do I get the opportunity to lock down the basement.
And even if you aren't allowed to sit right on top of the hook, it's not hurting you that much. Anyone going for the save is going to have to disarm at least one trap to get to the hook (if you do it right), which which will allow you to proxy camp and make it back in time to disrupt things.
I've played against plenty of Trappers in basement and can't recall the last time any of them camped down there. They strategically place their traps and let them do most of the work. They come back when a survivor messes with them and usually create chaos then.
I main Trapper and his only problems are traps spawn at corner, and grass getting less in new realms/maps.
The true Trapper's play is get a survivor trapped across the map and save you 32sec of Gen from doing nothing. You dont place all 100 traps around 3 Gens, which so many killers always question why he cant have all traps at hand in the beginning, its both bad play on killers and boring match like SM.
Bro, trappuh OP.
His traps invoke a deep fear in SWF teams...
GRASS
No, not ass.
