The most annoying thing in Killer ranking system.

As a survivor, I don’t have to escape to pip, I have to try my best. I get killed in 7 of 10 games, but almost always I at least save pip, pretty often I even pip (except the Killers runs mori).

But as killer I HAVE TO KILL ALMOST ALL SURVIVORS TO PIP. If you lost survivors - it doesn’t matter you played well, Entity wants interesting gameplay, but Entity wants much more gameplay with tunneling, camping (camping hurting the Chaser emblem is a joke) and running Ruin (in red ranks impossible to get iridescent Gatekeeper without Ruin, this emblem only about of using Ruin). That’s very sad.

  • Not to mention you get punished for not playing a killer you're good with.

Get to rank 1 and try to experiment with a new killer you have few/no perks on and you're gonna have a bad time.

Because you likely wouldn't be there because of the killer you don't play but because of your mains...

Want to derank without getting banned? Too bad play normally as a killer you suck with for hours on end to lose 1 pip at a time.

This is why I actually think they really need separate ranks per killer. I feel like they were hinting at this being the direction they were going. Would be a really nice change.

It's easier to de-rank by using ebony mori's. You end the matches quick, get only 4 hooks, get decent blood points, but your emblem/rank points plummet. Sometime's you safety pip, but that normally only happens in green ranks, in purple and red though, you de-pip constantly because of the mori's. To guarantee a depip with the mori, also use insta-down abilities or add-on's, that way you get half the chaser emblem points you would with normal damage. I've gone in with Iridescent Head huntress and a mori, kill them all, but get "Entity Displeased" and drop rank. Its the fastest and funnest way to De-rank on purpose imo.

  • The emblem system for killer is just broken, and I don't see it worth it to try to rank up anymore. The Adepts being based on this system is just stupid too. It punishes killers for absolutely smashing a group of survivors that deserve it.

You can get iridescent gatekeeper with Corrupt intervention. That perk guarantees it since it blocks the closest gens to survivors and you can keep them from completing a gen for 1 minute 20 seconds.

  • You can pip as killer if you only kill one survivor, but you pretty much have to hook every other survivor twice. Just saying you don't have to play perfectly as killer to pip. And it's pretty easy to safety pip as killer. At least when I play Freddy I almost always at least safety pip. If you are camping or using moris or instadowns it's going to be a lot harder. If you play them straight it's usually not that hard unless everyone on the team is pretty optimal and you struggle to down anyone.

Thank you. I keep telling people this, as killer focus on hooks not kills. If you 2 hook everyone and get one kill you can black pip in red ranks and pip in any other rank.

  • Those of us who have stopped caring about pipping or ranking but have a lot of playtime might become problematic to the devs in the future; because, you can have high skill and still not rank up, leaving a highly skilled killer just treading water with newbs. You can become an unintentional smurf, which is bad for new players. It makes me question their ranking system, really.

  • Nah, you can pip as killer killing just one survivor or even no survivors *(looking at you Legion).

If you aren't pipping it means you are either camping or just crushing the enemy.

Ultimately it's a design flaw in the game because whoever thought out the ranking system was crazy.

Separate ranks on killers is really bad idea. Why? If you will main pig for example and get to rank 1, and then you would want to play wraith (lets say youre rank 15 on him). It will be really unfun for survivors because these killers are really similiar. And you will demolish the team you will be playing against.

Similar, but not the same. Someone may be great at one killer but not another. Also, one of the biggest issue high ranks get burnt out, leave, or derank is because they want to play killers they find fun, not be forced to play the ones that can compete at high ranks. This would allow them to have fun playing the less viable killers. I disagree with you.

  • Getting punished if you win with Billy to fast, cause chainsaw doesn't count as 2 hits for some reason? Lol

  • I agree and disagree.

It's easy imo to rank up with good killers that suits you but the fact you get lowered when you are playing killers you don't like or are not good with is just logical and basically reset you on the "get good" scale.

Yeah it's a bad idea. Not to mention, basic killer skills are universal. Tracking, prediction, pathing, and basic game sense. These carry over for all killers, doesn't matter if you're using Pig or Nurse, the basics are what make a player strong, not the killer abilities.

An experienced killer no matter who he uses will demolish less experienced survivors any day of the week.

  • The gatekeeper emblem is trash. Certain builds are meant for snowball or endgame. So why should you be punished if gens get done, but nobody escapes? Silliness.
