Should Reports Give You BP?
I'll keep this short, should BHVR reward you for successful reports with BP. If so what should be the BP gain?

Could be a good feature but it will lead to report spam probably
In concept this would be good to incentivise more reporting of sus players, but in practice this would 100% help cheaters out in the long term b/c ppl would spam-report and cases would get overlooked and/or misjudged.
Only if they were 100% verified to be legitimate. Otherwise people will just report everyone. We already have people that confuse perks for cheating.
Reports don't really fix the cheating problem, just give us a better anticheat. Either way most of the time cheaters can get a new account in 5 minutes. It takes a while for them to get banned anyways so its not like reporting is super useful in the first place.
I mean it might help for the time investment and they could link it to the report feedback system. Because if you get the report feedback notification its because someone you also reported got banned. So everyone who reported suffered to that person at least once. So if it for your troubles gave you 250k as compensation for the cheater game I wouldnt be opposed. Other games just refund the mmr or spent stuff or scrap the game as a whole so in dbds scenario I think bp is the easiest comparison.
With the response rate I get on my reports, I’m not sure BHVR even looks at them
No
Hell no, this would just lead to people reporting even more stuff because they dont understand what just happened. I am very sure that a significant amount of times people call others a cheater are just things they did not know about.
What would make people report cheaters more often is better feedback from the Devs. And especially faster Bans. If I report a Cheater and go through all the things they require for it and see after 3 months that they are still happily playing despite cheating every game AND ban evading because their previous account was banned, I just dont report Cheaters anymore. BHVR should work on that and not give any BP Incentives for successful reports.
Nice in theory, but this’ll just lead to people spamming Support with tickets.
Like Aven said, it doesn’t solve the issue people have with reporting cheaters. It takes forever, requires you to have been recording already, and oftentimes barely does anything, cause of burner accounts.
A replay system and/or server-sided checks are much better at (partially) solving the cheating issue.
If replays were a thing, a similar system to the old Overwatch feature from Counter-Strike, or the Tribunal from League of Legends could have been an option.
A way for players to review cases, and submit verdicts based on the evidence.
These systems used to work really well, and hunting cheaters/pottymouths was a fun pastime.
You were usually given a couple options in your verdicts, like "evident beyond a reasonable doubt" (usually led to a permanent ban if the majority voted for this), "pardon/not enough evidence to suggest" (suspect goes free) or "minor infractions" (timed ban and/or chat restriction of up to 1 month)
As long as false reports take away something.
Bad idea, then people just report everyone after every single game.
Ideally they should have a system like DotA, where a replay is saved if people report, it goes into the system, and people can review it and vote if it was a valid report. As people vote more correctly, they are trusted more and more, and as people vote incorrectly, they are trusted less and less and get less cases to look at.
Then you reward people who correctly vote on a case.
