If unbreakable becomes basekit, what do killers receive?

Think about it y'all. If Unbreakable becomes becomes basekit, what are they going to give the Killers in order to compensate? Will they get shattered hope as basekit, to better handle the inevitable boon combo that occurs? Do they get buffed hexes? Hex protection? No one is really thinking of the bigger picture here. The survivors complain and complain about little things, but it only nets them more things to complain and whine about if rhe changes they want go live, but get upset when the balancing effect comes to bite them.

I, as a discord elected killer spokesperson, would happily trade basekit Unbreakable for basekit Shadowborn. Fight me.

I really feel that people are missing the point here. I'm not defending the basekit Unbreakable, I am talking about its purpose and specifically why it's silly to start asking "what are killers going to get".

Like, I could answer you! I could talk about how slugging would still be possible, just not a permanent solution as you get the pressure of someone having to pick themselves up + then being injured afterwards instead of the pressure of them being down until they're picked up by someone else, if I had to. That argument has some weight, and it has some holes, but to start going down that road would be a mistake because it's not relevant to the actual point here.

So I'll say again: I'm not defending the basekit Unbreakable, I think its PTB iteration was heavily flawed and needs serious work before it'll be fit for live. That's not the point that's being made here. The point is that it isn't one to one, and survivors "getting something" doesn't mean killers must also "get something".

Then you're just making populist statements that don't contribute to the discussion.

It's very clear people are meaning what I explained - compensatory buffs for killers that are going to get weaker due to the change, saying they shouldn't expect these buffs because the change is temporary/not final/yadayada is just harmful to the discussion because it sends a message that none compensatory changes needed.

If a big change like that is supposed to fix an issue and not change the balance, then there must be compensatory changes so that the balance remains the same.

That's not at all what OP meant, go look at their examples. They're talking about general killer buffs that aren't connected to the specific change to slugging, because they're talking about any generic survivor buff requiring a killer buff in any area to "compensate".

Discussion about how to better balance the proposed anti-slugging changes is obviously fine but that's not what this discussion was. At the very least, if that's what OP meant they chose their words very very poorly and accidentally gave the opposite impression.

I highly doubt it will prevent clowning. Even with the endgame collapse everyone will stay wait until the last second possible to leave. That has always been an unfortunate staple and this will not change that

I didnt say it will prevent it, just lessen it a bit because instances where there are 2 people Tbaging one gets downed and the other escapes during the downing animation now is 2 escapes, with automori is going to be 1 escape 1 morid. At first is going to be the same but after some weeks and some "just leave" clips some people are going to just escape and not risk getting morid because the other guy didnt time his escape with yours.

The unbreakable-esque change proposed for survivor basekit really shouldn't affect many, with the exception of those who want to slug.

So, should a killer armed with Knock Out and The Third Seal go on a slugging spree, this would combat such playstyles which can become very tedious.

But they're still down for a lengthy time, and I've ever so rarely encountered situations where survivors have been downed for that long as killer.

The change is to deal with an unfun part of the game. A solution to a problem. Just like killers got mini buffs in that one patch to deal with how fast gens were flying, by giving them tweaks such as longer gen times and shortened recovery from successful hits.

What about poor Twins, who have no choice but to slug unless they never use their power and already pay a huge penalty?

The unbreakable base kit thing, is just some patchwork for the new finishing mori... What do you want? Some game where you can slug everyone, got your mori reward and finish like that?

Killer got a lot of thing recently, but that's not enough? Not enough to have litteraly a new system for winning a game without any worries?

    Think damn it

The point is, nobody asked for the stupid insta-mori change that BHVR are pushing as the requirement for the basekit unbreakable. Show me where anyone asked for an insta-kill if all survivors are down/hooked?

BHVR is lamely trying to resolve a problem they've created for themselves. How about they put effort into fixing the myriad of existing bugs instead of working on an entirely new system that nobody wanted?

  • I think it's mostly the unbreakable perk what needs to change, not the idea of being able to pick yourself up.

Killers got basekit (to an extent):

    • Brutal Strength
    • STBFL
    • An additional 50 seconds
    • and mini PGTW.

Oh they also got a 60% kill rate!

Just because one side receives a change doesn't mean the other needs and equal and opposite one, if that were the case the game balance would never change.

All these changes do very little. The mini PGTW is 2.5% it might as well be nothing when survivors are pushing gens fast. Unbreakable is a meta perk that survivors are getting for free. Killers got yellow Brutal strength, 2 stacks of STBFL, and 2.5% kicking gens. That hardly has the same impact as unbreakable. Terrible comparison. Unbreakable can turn a hopeless certain 4k for the killer into a complete reset of the game and multiple survivors escape.

  • I think the biggest issue here is that they are giving survivors heavy meta perks as base and even with UB you can pick yourself up with 22 seconds just by having UB with you. This will help soloQ for sure but with SWF killers will have hard time.

They are the ones abusing this. They will bring the sabo toolboxes and boil overs to counter the fact that killers cant slug anymore.

Also when did slugging become wrong? Sometimes its needed. Eventually you will die. You can waste 4 minutes of your life once in a while. It's not every game you encounter a killer that slugs everyone for 4 minutes just to be toxic. Most killers slug you because theres a need for it. Some for the 4k I'm just asking when did it become wrong to do this?

Another thing that i think most killers arent really enjoying is the fact that i already meantioned is that survivors are getting second META perk as base. They will be running technically with 6 perks soon. While killers got level 1 brutal strenght you barely notice if at all. 2 stacks of save the best for last..i personally never even notice it. They can't keep giving other side stronger meta perks and kill playstyles that are sometimes needed in the game.

I doubt any killers wanted a finisher mori. This will only be powerful with the fastest killers in the game. Unless the survivors really screw up the slower and weaker killers will never get a fast kill with it. With nurse yeah it will be broken but what isnt.

  • Well hopefully they decide against basekit or final showdown

This is wrong on so many levels. Most killers aside from a small handfuls are not viable in higher ranked matches. These killers have needed tweaking and fixing long before anything relating to soloqu. No, this is another case of survivors crying a bout a non issue and the devs bend the knee with out thought. Basekit unbreakable is and always will be a bad move, just like totems and shows where their concerns truly lie. The survivor's fun and experience

How dare they care about the survivors having fun in this game? They should only care about killers amirite? Lol

Dunno, a lot of people here complain that killing survivor is too hard

A lot complain that a lot of killer slug and just wait that the survivor to bleed out

But, I agree with you about one thing... If Behavior want to add this thing, the killer MUST have the possibility too choose if he want this scenario or not

    Or with a cooldown

That's up to BHVR to resolve, but to stop a legitimate resolution to a problem because of one killer isn't a good enough reason. The Twins may need a power rework, were this to be a severe problem.

  • I have a simple solution. Don't add mori finish system, and don't add basekit unbreakable.

    Incredible, I know right?

Well, killers got lot of changes before, because they claimed if they had them tunneling, slugging and camping would not be needed. Instead, it increased. Unbreakable basekit is there to restore the balance with buffs killers already recived and capitalized for the last months.
