God I've done this same gen like 3x over at this point?

Overcharge call of brine merciless storm i got a gen to like 75% 2 times and the 3rd time id actually get it to completion merciless came out of the wood work to frick me. Is it actually worth going back to the gen multiple times and fight the killer over it? Just seems like its going back farther then i can get it back up. It also makes 3 gens pretty much impossible. Any advice is appreciated of course!

  • Lol no. 3-genning has never been a foolproof solution, and I'm tired of people pretending it is. I just did a whole stream, with all different killers and builds, dedicated to disproving why 3-genning doesn't work against good survivors. It was either overkill or underkill; we either didn't make it to 1 gen, they split the map, or they overcame the 3-gen. Survivors win the war of attrition, and there's nothing the killer can capitalize on if they just play safe and use second chance perks.

Every time this is brought up, it seems like people just blanket statement "you JUST make a dead zone" or "you JUST make a 3-gen happen". Yep, that's totally how a match plays out, right? Kind of like how you JUST hook the survivor on the scourge hook to get "free regression."

  • 3 gens can be countered easily from the start of the game. If you still get a 3 gen its still possible to win if you have 4 survivors alive, or 3 decent survivors. You will need to pressure 2-3 gens at the same time, keep running and force the killer to spend those 10 seconds running back and forth between 2 gens to chase you guys away and utilise it to do the gen. also merciless storm isnt hard to complete (if you have decent fps).

  • I try to start in the middle with gens and work my way out to help avoid 3 gen. Can’t always do it but it helps.

  • if there is no slowdown, 3 man with prove thyself can finish a gen in about 33 seconds, use your damn teammates.

  • I'm just glad I only faced one Dragon's Grip today. Had a 40 min game on Eyrie of Crows against a Wraith with DG. Killer had overcharge and we were forced off the gens left and right. Even with DG on cooldown by the time 20 mins of game was done most pallets were gone. He had somewhat of a three gen but didn't really matter because he was fast as Speedy Gonzalez.

My best advise is split up as much as a you can. Hope your teammates can run at least decently. If he doesn't have DG tap the gen, its better to eat the 2.5 regression than let the 200% regression kick in. It takes time to build up to regression but after 30 seconds it is at max. During solo queue having perks like blast mine will not only blind the killer but can light up your gen for your teammates to know it has progress. If they aren't on their own gens they may wander over to yours. As for you knowing what gen has what, the very underrated Rookie Spirit and Alert could come in handy with not only knowing what gens were regressed but where the killer is located. I also played a few games with repressed alliance, but when I kept seeing Deadman's switch I took it off.

Finally, sometimes you may have to take a down to win the game. I literally took the L so we all didn't die against a three gen doc while playing solo queue. He'd managed to regress three gens to nothing already and i wasn't going to let him get mine. If you have any hooks left in you the best option may be to just stick with the gen and pop it and take the down and not live to regret it.

  • Yeah its one of my main builds i love it!

I wouldnt be surprised if Call of Brine got nerfed.

  • On the brightside your getting skillcheck practice at least

  • If a killer really wants me off a specific gen, I usually just go and do another one. Albeit, in a three gen situation, that is rarely an option. The problem there is that you always need someone pressuring a gen while someone is running the killer, which, as we know, never really happens in solo queue. So realistically you remain safe long enough for the other survivors to notice we are three genned so that we can work to win the war of attrition. It can take a bit of time though, as they sometimes scour the map trying to find a different gen when there aren't any. That is the main reason it is annoying, you need other survivors to do something and sometimes that just does not happen.

  • Deja Vu shows you the 3 gens in closest proximity to each other and gives you a 5% repair speed buff for 45 seconds. If, unless one of the gens is on a different level or otherwise a pain to reach, you repair the middle gen of the three you'll break any possibility of a three gen. The perk will then show you the second best 3 gen set up. If you can follow that pattern your last three possibilities for gens will be scattered all over the map.

If you're getting Killers that are good at gen pressure bring Deja Vu, Built To Last, OTR and either an exhaustion perk or Prove Thyself. Ideally, you'll want a Commodious Toolbox with either both charge add ons or the yellow charge add on and BNP. Blow through the gen that's giving you the most trouble. Then use Built to Last and recharge your toolbox.

The best way to beat a 3 gen is to never let the Killer get a good 3 gen if at all possible.
