CONGRATULATIONS, apparently if u hear the community and make the right changes u gain players (who would say that???). Jokes apart, congratulations, the last changes have been really good for the games health, coh nerf, pretty good killer perks, and a chance to get MMR removed, that's truly amazing, thank u bhvr <3

    Bots.

Bots doesn't count as a steam account, do they? If I'm not mistaken they even use the kyf lobby's tho play as the AI

  • Hey so I don't know if I'm reading it wrong but "last thirty days" is only counting the days since march 31st.

  • The numbers have been circulating between 34K & 35K in Avg. Players throughout March.

pretty sure last 30 days on a rotating schedule of 30 days not just the new months buildup, so the last 30 days always involves the last 30 days even if it overlaps with a previous months numbers. So it would include march 3rd to april 2nd today, not just april 1st and 2nd

But March still shows an average loss of nearly 2K players, if you're theory is correct that would mean that there's some really funky numbers going on.

You can even clearly see that it's basing it off of the March number and up until 3 days ago, the March number and last 30 days were exactly the same.

  • This isn't nearly as impactful as people think. The numbers are just going back to how they normally were pre resident evil patch. Everyone also somehow forgets to mention that the peak player count has been roughly the same for the past few months.

But, no, let's continue to have a big circle jerk on hating the devs then be baffled that they don't take our criticisms more seriously

I don't think its funky numbers, its just averaging the player counts over those days at certain times, bigger numbers mean bigger average, and april 1st and 2nd, had higher playercount averages than march 2nd and 3rd.

At a glance on the website it makes perfect sense to me and mathwise the numbers are accurate. There is an average of 400 player difference between the last 30 days and march because in comparison march 2nd and 3rd had lower averages than april 1st and 2nd.

Also if it was only the 1st and 2nd day of april the average would be up 10743 players from march and wouldn't make sense to label as "last 30 days" if it only includes the two days

Sadako came out 3 weeks ago and there was a jump in players from that and the resulting sales. The 30 day running average is only now starting to reflect that because there was a loss prior to Sadako's release.

  • The "last 30days" refers to the beginning of this month, which started In a weekend, period where the playerbase is a little bit higher than usual, has nothing to do with the latest developer update, people will come back to play when the update is live, and they will leave again cuz of MMR, those changes won't make the two killers feel any better.

Is all about MMR if the playerbase will stop decreasing, but looking at the last "tests" they don't wanna understand that it doesn't make any sense in a casual game like DBD, wasting time and effort in a system that is killing the game slowly not matter what.

Ah, and the nerf to coh won't stop any complain cuz people complain about the infinite heals not the time it takes, 2 more seconds won't make any big difference.

  • From now on, steam chart numbers tells us desperation rather than hope, thanks to bots.

  • That bump only exists because of the MMR tests. People logged in for the massive bloodpoints, the QOL updates, and the MMR. However - if the devs don't capitalize on this soon, they're going to lose a lot of steam (Pun intended)

They need to come forward and make some very strong declarations of intent, maybe a road map, and make it clear what direction they intend to take things. It looks to me like leadership is faltering pretty hard, and I'm not sure if free bloodpoints and daily data updates are going to be enough if they don't walk aback some of their bad choices and start to make wiser ones.

It would be par for their course if they take this moment of reprieve and squander it unwisely on yet another chapter that no living member of the community asked for or felt a need for.

Losing all those players that came in with a big license is no big deal?

    Uhh okay then.

It's a lot more than that, and it's pretty clear cut.

The game had gained a lot of potential and momentum - throughout its entire history, it's had ups and downs - but it has never had such a bad bleed for so long.

And no, it isn't just things 'returning to normal' - because if this were the case, it would be reflected by streamers and other community members.

But streamers and outspoken community members have been quite upset these past two quarters about the state of the game - even prominent content creators abandoned ship after the Saduko release fizzled.
