Welcome to the Salt Mines
I've read about this system in various posts and I thought it would be a good idea to bring it up into the open for discussion and consideration.
To combat the feelings of unfairness and disappointment when players DC from a game, would the DbD devs consider implementing a system similar to that of the F13 Salt Mines?
As players DC from games for various reasons they accumulate "Salt". As time goes on and they continue to play this way, they begin to join a special matchmaking queue that is specifically for players with accumulated "salt". These players can then continue to play however they like, but they will be queued with other players who continually DC. The "salt" would deteriorate over time allowing those players to return to the normal matchmaking queues.
Various amounts of "salt" can accumulate on a player depending on the circumstances of their DC:
- At the beginning of a match (I dislike this map)
- During a mori
- While being carried to a hook
- While on a hook
- At the end of a match to activate the hatch
This would reduce the number of DC's that players see in matches and hopefully create a better play environment for those who choose to see a game through to the end. While at the same time allowing everyone to play without a "punishment" when it comes to DC'ing. This would also allow the threshold to be less than it is currently to allow a tightened stance against DC'ng.
Thoughts?

it's a weak way to send a message to people that dc too much. make it simple and give them a timeout. The devs should work on a new feature that benefits the majority than the few that dc allot.
Unless it prevents them from coming into your lobby at all. What better message to send to DC'ers than to make them play with other DC'ers?
With the current "host" system setup the game has this wouldn't be able to track Killer DCs. But I do like the idea as a whole.
Did you turn into a race car at the end of that sentence?
I'm talking about the OP's stipulations around what actions would count as a "DC" should one occur. Because the current "host" system only knows "app is closed game has been terminated" it couldn't distinguish under what stipulation it occured.
Yessssss
