The representation debate
I see a few of people saying, "Adding this was unnecessary and not needed." If you think that, just don't worry about this. The devs want to go more in depth with the backstories of characters, so sexuality might've come into play at some point. It's not a big thing. If you didn't go crazy over Wraith and Nurse having a fling and Claudette being on the spectrum, don't go crazy over this.
Edit: Also it's the devs choice not yours

"most" thats an opinion but some do want that so,... your opinion is yours, but others most certainly want it. I wouldnt mind if they did it.
Of course that is my opinion. But I can assure you that many will have the opinion, and it would feel forced and restricted (only one char of every ‚orientation‘).
plus this way they would confirm they are only doing it to get the money from this community.
But you would buy it, and so would many, and even probably thousands of straight people would to show msupport, so its as good an idea as anyone. I don't like seeing people fight so its much easier to design a product to please both sides, dont want it, dont buy it, want it? then buy it.
edit: added. Everything in video games is to make money. YOu think they added the hetero couple cosmetics for straight pride? no, it was for money.
capitalism is a glorious thing.
Honestly I would be very hesitant to buy it.
maybe if the income was donated to a good cause, like that Charity DLC did. But then it would also depend on how they portray their token gay/les/bi/trans characters. And here they have to be very very careful to please everyone.
there is just the other way simpler option: just add it via some lore entries to existing and/or new characters where it actually fits and does not feel slapped on.
Or the devs can do it how they're already planning, which is probably via the rift. It's free for us, doesn't affect gameplay, and only those who read the lore will know about it. Win-win.
Also, those who don't like it can stop giving the devs money. Free market.
I totally understand, however, we all know majority of players dont post on these forums so just sharing a difference of opinion.
They'd never do this any other time because it's bad business. Scummy business. And again, Halloween is not the same. Halloween is always at the same time. You can celebrate pride pretty much whenever you want. But Halloween... have you ever seen anyone celebrate Halloween in January?
It's thematic. Some countries celebrate June as Pride Month, just like some countries celebrate Halloween in October (not just the actual day, they have decorations for quite some time). If you think one is scummy, then so is the other.
It wasn’t a debate until someone had a problem with it because of what is means to THEM or what it MIGHT mean to the future of DBD. Basically the same thing they try to do irl.
Nothing more nothing less.
Whatever. I’m just gonna keep doing me, and appreciate this celebratory moment. Because I would rather spend my energy evoking positivity than trying to bring others.
