Yeah this normally happens because the bear traps put survivors into the injured state this is why hitting them whilst they're in it automatically puts them in the dying state and remove them from the bear trap in question.
MoM give them a point of Endurance so when you hit them it doesn't put them into the dying state because of the Endurance but it still removes them from the bear trap this is why they fall down like that.
It's actually very easy to replicate without using the Perk if you use the add-on padded Jaws bear traps won't actually injure the survivor so you'll have to hit them twice to down them. The first hit will throw them to the ground and free them from The Trap and then you could just hit them again to put them into the dying state.
yes, basically the only animation the game accept when you hit someone trapped is the downed animation. After the animation has ended the survivor is given back control, so he gets up and starts running.
Imagine getting MoM to finally trigger and it gets wasted in that situation though ๐
This is exactly what happened. I didn't know he had MoM until this moment LOL. So disappointing, probably the first game he managed to activate this useless perk.

It's a coin-flip, as is Trapper's entire existence. I have been on both the Survivor and Killer end of escaping just at the right moment that the extra hit saves the Survivor from certain doom.

Well it was your hit that triggered Mom, not tge trap. You worried me for a second...
As an aside, what happened here was actually best case, you made him waste it
