SWF balancing : Why was there no discussion on the stream or from BHVR?

Here is a link to 3 chilled SWFs before the Wraith Ding......................................Ding ...................................... nerf

https://www.twitch.tv/videos/604966586?t=03h06m47s

Notice how they pass on information like PGTW, Sloppy, Nurses, Who does what totems and where, Where they are to heal, how easy it is for killers, whos going for the save, where the killer is, when they are being healed etc...

How does this compare to solo survivors who have to learn how to deal with the killer without all this information?

Comments

  • Yeah how is it supposed to think on your own. LOL

  • Because it wasn't related to the Q&A. The Q&A was for the most recent chapter and the mid chapter patch.

Also as @LetsPlayTogether mentions, what are they meant to do? Stay quiet and harm their teams chances?

  • Of course we all know SWFs are on comms passing on this kind of information but any buff or ners BHVR make to perks/addons to survivor or killer will not fix the gap that speaking with your friends gives.

Until they match SWFs with solo survivors the game isn't balanced, it is a huge flaw that should be in the top 5 of the devs list to fix.

  • Because it wasn't the topic of the Q&A? If they didn't limit the questions they answer every single Q&A would just be re-runs of the same questions, just look at the stuff people make threads about no matter what is going on in and around the game.

And what exactly do you expect them to say if they bring it up anyway? Because I have a feeling that beyond the usual "closing the gap" talk it'd at absolute most be stuff like bonus points and maaaaaybe SWF indicators after/before/both matches. I find it extremely hard to even imagine they'd even consider anything "more" than that.

  • I'm not sure why you were expecting them too discuss it. I have not seen/heard them say that they had any intention of doing anything about SWF groups, though it would be nice if they did. BTW, it negatively impacts killers far more than it impacts solo survivors.

Because realistically there is no way to buff solos that much and even moreso for killers, the better question is what would you give solos and killers to acocmodate. Cause forcing comms in game would be problematic cause then people just wouldnt use the ingame comms. Itd have to be something tangoble. A flat buff to accomodate

I can't say. I have no idea what tools or resources the devs have available to them. And, it really doesn't matter until they actually say that they are even considering looking into it.

Solo survivors, still benefit passively by being in a SWF group. They may not be able to communicate with the other survivors, but the coordinated effort of the SWF to do gens are make rescues, is still going to help them.

I totally agree, i just dont see a way to buff to the same level without flamemageddon from survivors

You are aware that the game comes with no in-game chat. Do you think maybe you were never meant to talk to other survivors?

The Devs really should have anticipated this to be honest. Now that it is up and running the only thing they can do now is try to balance it.

My suggestion is that if an SWF group is playing then the killer gets 2 extra perks.

When teams talk they are essentially giving themselves extra perks. They don't need to use things like kindred, object of obsession or other aura revealing perks because they have team mates telling them this information.

So my suggestion is that SWF gets its own lobby and if a killer chooses to play against SWF they get 2 extra perks.

  • Add proximity chat to the game. Use at your own risk
