Delete Ruin from lower ranks

omg, as a solo survivor it's impossible to win a game with every match having Ruin on. This perk is absolute OP in the lower ranks. I'm in the ranks between 12-15 and every survivor struggles how to handle this perk + the survivors on this rank are too scared to look for the totem. for the killler this perk is = easy win in my ranks. pls delete this perk in the lower ranks or nerf it. it makes the game very unfun

  • Not impossible, just tough

Fellow Survivors not searching for Ruin Totem?

    Go and find it

    Cant find it?

    Use perks or look harder

    ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

You can literally pip from doing no gens and just saving while running the killer green rank and under.

The average player should be green rank following my point unless you barely play dbd that's the only exception. If you can get green rank then you should just retire.

I meant more like early ranks a killer with ruin will dominate. Once they hit the people who borderline know what's going on. The killer who used Ruin throughout low ranks wont really be that good. Be confused and shocked because Ruin was supposed to be the end all perk thats OP. Not to realize they didn't honestly learn the basics.

  • Ruin nerf? It's part of the game.. what if we remove 360°s, looping I'm sure killers just hate that. Ruin isn't that hard to counter hit your skill checks. Anyway i love you all.

Lol dude I'm rank 2 killer pretty sure I know when and where to peel off. indesputable fact you can NOT chase more than one survivor at any given time, you can split off and change targets but that is not chasing two people nore is it "pressure" you're changing one target for another. That is a FACT not an opinion. You can never be at more than ONE generator at ANY given time, that's is a FACT not an opinion, now if you force a 3 gen then you might be able to bounce around fast enough to MITIGATE progress. But you're still only ever at one generator at any given time. Furthermore there are maps where unless you run one of a few specific killers you basically have to give up at least one gen unless you want to spend an absurd amount of time on a god loop, that is a FACT not an opinion.

In short no, this is not a difference of opinion what I have stated is simply a fact, map pressure does not exist.

Not sure where you are getting that I claim to chase more than one survivor. My claim, which is fact, is when you play smart, you can maintain map pressure. I too play the red ranks and know from experience.

I think the issue is how debilitating Ruin is on new players. No need to remove it, but lessening the impact at ranks 18 to 20 would encourage learning to work through it while not completely destroying a team of new players. That could be a bad barrier for getting new players to stay.

You lack map awareness. If you are chasing one survivor for too long, you are losing map pressure. Never be afraid to dip out near a gen being worked on, or when survivor breaks line of sight. Slug a survivor that is near a gen that is close to being done. Move to that gen, kick it, pursue the survivor working on it. Now you have 3 survivors off gens. One laying on the ground, one moving to heal them, one being chased.

Map pressure is real. You have to pick your area of the map, you can't defend big ones with low movement killers. With Trapper, I isolate an area of the map that has 4-5 gens. I trap the tar out of it and keep pressure up. 90% of the time, it works out with a 3-4k. That 10%, when you get a really good group, likely SWF, you get owned. It happens. I can honestly say I probably hung on too long on some chases during those matches, or did not get creative with trap placement.

    It happens.

"map pressure". lmao why does this sound hilarious.. oh because it is. you cant pressure the map only the survivors. unless if you stand ontop of a map on the ground.

So, you want ruin deleted from lower ranks...because? You do realize even IF the devs did do that, you'd still have to go against ruin in higher ranks. So you're going to have to learn to deal with it sooner than later. I suppose higher ranks should remove adrenaline, yeah?

no he means higher ranks should remove perks in general. just make killers fly and survivors go underground while the killer has to dig to find them. perfect solution to this discussion

Well you are correct some of your arguments are not exactly 100% true as both Hag and Huntress are able too by an extremely versatile and skilled player. Though both of those require unique set up from addons, perks, map, great predictions. So it's more like a .001% chance of ever finding that specific killer with the right conditions.

Don't get me wrong I 100% agree with you just kinda wanted to mention it.

I think the best option is limiting the tier of perks at lower ranks. If you delete ruin, then nobody learns how to deal with it. If you only allow tier 1 perks at rank 20, and tier 2 perks at ranks 16-19, you mitigate the damage, while still learning to deal with it. Even if you have a perk at T3, it only works to T1/T2 based on rank.

When you get these killers/survivors with full tier 3 perks at rank 20 who go on to destroy all in their way, that is not healthy for the game.

This actually seems like a great idea to help new players learn the game without being discouraged.

Lmao. I wouldn't mind seeing a ruin change. Like make it to where it doesn't regress if you don't get a great skill check with a slow down to gen progression but where it doesn't stack. I don't want to see it being abused with thano and dying light.

  • As a killer main not having ruin is basically suicide for anyone that isn't Spirit/Nurse/Billy

Most killers don't have the speed to control 5 gens it's just not possible and it's not really fair that us killer mains have to play certain killers to win. I just want to play who I enjoy not who im forced to play to win.

  • the bait is not strong enough. sorry.

  • Ruin shouldnt be nerfed at all, im rank one and i still get team mates that cant hit ruin and if that happens just get the totem thats what i have to do or ill end up doing 3 gens solo before anyone else does one, the perk is fine as it is. the spawns arent hard to find and you can hit great skill checks, if both of those are too hard or seem a challenge then there is what you can improve on instead of moaning about your team. my advice is to do gens with ruin, if your team are struggling get the totem, and if you cant find it then you can learn to tiles, spawns and even help with loops. at red ranks without ruin the killer has lost simple as, sure sometimes they can do well but thats just bad survivors or lucky map but when you get a full team who can just hit great skill checks then damn those gen`s fly bye and thats why killers run it, the chases survivors want with the loops to have fun but not wanting longer gens so the killer can spare the time to chase is the issue.

  • You're hilarious.

It's called getting better and stop complaing

  • Even some red rank players struggle with RUIN what's a surprise, the only way to counter is to gen tap or find ruin yourself using either a rainbow map, small game or try to hear a flame flickering nearby.

  • Get good or die trying.

  • Okay but for real, dealing with Ruin helped me get better at skill checks as a whole. I'm still not perfect, but I can now hit multiple ruins skill checks in a row.

I hope you're only talking about certain perks, because perks like STBFL, Dark Devotion, and Brutal Strength are pathetic at tier 1.
