Alien is ridiculously broken. Fix it or me and everyone I run with all agrees we aren't playing anymore. He hits through windows through pallets and even when crouched BEHIND a pallet. This is the most broken toxic killer I've seen in this game over the years. He sees you and there is no escape, no dodging only 10 seconds until he beats you down. I made an account just to say how much this ######### sucks.

Knocked down by Xeno in 10 seconds? Well, I can only say that you're playing really poorly. Even beginners who haven't played for more than 50 hours can survive longer than 10 seconds

M1 killers can do more than walk to catch people. Myers utilises stealth and exposure, Trapper traps things, Nightmare looks sad and helpless so you feel bad for him and throw him a free kill or two. They may not be the strongest at high MMR, but describing their chase potential as simply "walking", isn't accurate.

So, what about Legion? After injuring the survivors, he can't down them with his power. This means he can easily injure the survivors, but it's difficult for him to knock them down, as his power can't help him take them out‚ and as you know, if you're unable to quickly take down the survivors, the generators will continue to be repaired.

I have to confess, I've never understood the idea of "M1 killer" as it's currently used.

It's hard to make broad sweeping statements about the combined balance of a group that contains both the worst killer in the game (Trapper), and some of the better killers (for example, Pinhead). The range of strength is so broad that "M1 Killers" aren't suffering anything at all as a group, because what's detrimental to Trapper barely matters for Pinhead or Plague, or even someone that's just "decent" like Wraith or Legion.

Map design and easily-chained tiles are a problem, of course, but I just don't agree with this idea of all M1 killers are suffering. Almost all of them, Trapper excluded, have strong and viable builds, and half of them aren't even weak to begin with.

I think Wraith relies more on his Add-ons, which is why I chose to use this killer as an example.

My expression might have been a bit off. When I refer to "M1 killers," I actually mean those killers who are relatively less powerful. This doesn't include killers like Pinhead, who can down survivors through their power under normal circumstances.

This is so wrong on so many levels. For M1 killers that can't win in high MMR, I hope you don't consider Hens (or knightlight) low MMR killers:

    https://youtu.be/vaR-9_Vjp3s

For unfair tactics - killers can camp, tunel and slug (complained trio - even though I see no problem w slugging if it's not just to BM to hold survivors longer in game), but survivors can genrush (hyperfocus, stakeout, resilience, streetwise/proof 4man with commodius+spool+BNP is genrush - inability to create pressure or camping single survivor is not genrush).

Another thing is - I have seen so many low-to-mid tier killers proclaiming themselves high MMR showing their "perfect game without any mistake" (riddled with misplays), that I am pretty much convinced everyone with 10+ hours now considers himself high mmr... Which is funny, because this game has soft cap that is rather very.... Low. So it doesn't take insane skill to really be high MMR. This "I am high MMR" perception also prevents people from realizing they got actually outclassed (happens on both sides very often, because MMR is so loose) and instead blame that other side has it too easy.

But what we do know is, that average kill rate is above 50%....

I usually infer my own MMR based on the playtime of my opponents. They are usually a SWF group with around 5000 hours of playtime. I play both as a killer and a survivor. I believe that the weak point of M1 killers is their difficulty in downing survivors around pallets. Therefore, I think that the abilities of each killer should assist them in downing survivors more easily. This is also why I published this article.

Some of them are okay. Wraith and Legion are massively underrated by a lot of people — especially Wraith now that he's been buffed to have the nice speed boost after uncloaking.

Trapper, Myers, Clown, Pig, and Freddy are the five I'd very comfortably say are the weakest killers, and probably in the same order as I listed them (Trapper being the worst, Freddy or Pig being the best of the worst) but the devs seem to be in no hurry to dish out any buffs to any of them. If they're saying they're fine with Trapper and how he's performing, I have no hope for the rest of them.

I mentioned the Legion as an example because after injuring survivors, he lack the ability to effectively down them unless the survivors are grouped together. Most of the skills possessed by M1 Killers can assist them in taking down survivors, but the Legion is an exception.

All M1 Killers feel bad to play, thank the Devs for ruining the game with perks like MFT.

Even without MFT, the gameplay experience as an M1 killer is still quite frustrating. However, MFT indeed caused many M1 killers, including my friends, to quit this game. I feel like I'm also on the verge of giving up on this game. By the way, I'm a Legion main.

Right now in the game, killers are much stronger than survivors if the survivors are not pro players. A weak killer will easily catch a weak survivor because the entry threshold for survivors is MUCH higher than for killers. Survivors are much harder to play than assassins: you need to build routes, know how to mana, know techniques against each assassin, and more. One mistake for a survivor - you get a stage on the hook then tunneling from the killer and you are dead. I suggest making pallets recoverable, make more perks for constant acceleration. If you are weak for survivor - you won't run from killer for more than 20 seconds.

How did you manage to get downed by the killer within 20 seconds? Even if I just hold down W, I can evade the killer for 20 seconds. Also, your MMR must be very low so the system matches you with players close to your MMR, meaning not only are you a newcomer, but your opponents are as well.As a rank 1 player for both killer and survivor, I can confidently tell you that survivors have a greater advantage.

You need to learn to observe the killer's movements and react accordingly, using pallets and windows to create distance from the killer. Then, keep playing consistently to familiarize yourself with the maps and learn how to deal with each type of killer.

I have seen unfair amount of these kind of killers now.. Very sad and not so good for the DBD community.

    Camping killers:

    • Drastically slow down hook timer if killer is in presence (If killer is Next to hook X amount of time in X meters from the hook)
    • Maybe even slow down killer movement and attack speed in the area because the one who comes to save you gets downed and the cycle continues.
    • When exit gates are powered, the hook timer is normal

Tunneling has been very common now too, so maybe in case of tunneling the hook timer would be even greater if 4 survivors are alive and you are getting downed right after getting unhooked if no one else has been hooked before you?

I have 2k hours in the game and I feel like I am many times matched with killers who have around 300h playtime, who obviously are too focused on getting a kill right on the start.

I have had very good, hard and fair killers who do not camp or tunnel, and the matches are more than enjoyable, this is a case when I don't mind dying or losing as a team because it feels more of a win.

PS. Remove Skull merchant, or nerf the drones -1 active drone each gen activated or only 1-2 drone can be active at the same time

I think your opponents' playtime of only 300 hours is unrelated to their gameplay style. It's more likely due to your skill level matching you with those killers. Also, I don't quite understand why you think developers should delete the characters they've created. If you wish to remove killers, you might as well play a generator repair simulator. Killers resort to camping and tunneling because survivors repair generators too quickly. M1 killers have to use these tactics to counter that. You claim to have played for 2000 hours, but your statements sound more like those of a beginner with only 20 hours of experience.

I agree that the game is unbalanced and that survivors got nerfed too much. The hitbox in front of windows is very unbalanced too. When I play killer most of the time I think: "that shouldn't have hit" it's not fun playing killer anymore because you don't need to be a good killer to get a 4k. Almost every killer gets a 4k. The new challenge in dbd is to get a 4k in less than one minute (what I think is not even close to a fair and good Gameplay) the movement of the survivors got nerfed one time too much and they never changed it back. Just my opinion. I play both btw.

You might not know, but this is often a ping issue rather than a hitbox problem. Additionally, you mentioned survivor being nerfed too much, but weren't killers nerfed as well? I don't quite understand why some people think the game favors killers. Both my survivor and killer ranks are at Rank 1, and killers don't always get 4 kills every match. Even skilled players struggle with that unless your MMR is very low. It seems like you might not play killer often? You mentioned killers getting 4 kills within 1 minute? I can only say, that sounds like cheating.

This game is so unbalanced its more of a one sided slug fest with the killer having all the tools to succeed, they can spam skills and move so much faster and to top it off their Debuffs/killer perks need to be nerfed. And Dunking on the survivors because they dont have much for Item selection. Why is it that the developers are not adding new items like a bat for instance. The ultimate game of cat where you are down in 2 hits or 1 depending on the killer perk.

I understand why games like friday the 13 and texas chainsaw are leagues ahead of DBD. At least the survivors can fight back and not just have a flashlight. I also dont like the Bloodweb system. It should be more of a combination of all the items and not individual. If I could customize my priority buy in the web when i only want specific items, that would be a good quality of life improvement. Also their should be a item combine function that helps me reroll for a better item or stack all the low tier items for a better item.

riddle me this... why does a cop like detective tapp not have a gun with at least a few rounds in it. sure the Gun cant kill the Killer but it should at least stun or slow them down. also why are all the survivors at the same base speed and the same hp. It gets old just doing generators and getting hucked all the time. this game hasnt changed all that much since it came out and I dont see a revamp anytime soon. Just a Pay to win with some cloths to dress up.

My last complaint is the lack of Totem finder perks in the game. Ever Item can be found Chests generators exit gates and the hatch can be found but not the totems. Just keep in mind that normal people also play the game and not just the top 5 percent of streamers that buy everything and make videos to make their own profits.

If the killer's movement speed isn't faster than the survivors, how can the killer catch up to them? Maybe just remove the killer from this game altogether, since survivor players only seem to want to repair generators, right? It's like you guys just want this game to be a generator repair simulator rather than a horror game.

  • @codebibi said:

I would love if you could do something about killer tunneling on hook ? I have been tunneled on hook to death the entire day and i am really sick of it. It should be time you guys punish these toxic killers doing these sort of things instead of rewarding them because these types of killer really don't deserve it.

Survivors can gen rush, but killers can't tunnel and camp?

  • @pizzavessel15 said:

NUMEROUS content creators/players/AND fog whispers have said the exact same thing. made for this is broken. with this perk survivors can PERMANENTLY move at a 3+ speed JUST FOR GETTING INJURED. and at end game can run up to 110 speed PERMANENTLY with hope. the "cannot be used while exhausted" is BARLEY a draw back. people can still use dead hard or other (specific exhaustion perks) with this. OTZ HAS GOTTEN AGITATED ON STREAM DUE TO THIS PERK. this game nor most of the killers are NOT balanced around survivors moving like this. this perk is a problem and the devs NEED to change this. most of the killers without speed/slow down abilities are borderline miserable to play as due to this perk.

This game has always been biased towards the survivors. Survivors don't need any advanced skills; as long as you can press Space and M1, you can easily achieve victory. When a killer chases you, you just need to run around obstacles near the pallets and observe the killer's movements. When the killer gets too close, drop the pallet to stun them. When you get knocked down, wait for your teammates to come rescue you. When a teammate is being chased, focus on repairing generators. If a teammate is downed, go rescue them. If you know these strategies, you can easily become a survivor expert. During a chase, your teammates can repair all the generators in 5 minutes or even less, while it's not the same for the killer. You're constantly under pressure from the generator progress. Typically, 1 to 2 generators are repaired when you down the first survivor, which is normal. If you can't down a survivor within 30 seconds, you're probably at a disadvantage, as survivors can repair a generator in about 40 seconds on average. This is quite challenging for an M1 killer, unless your matchmaking rating (MMR) is very low. These are the observations I've made throughout the process of reaching Rank 1 as both a survivor and a killer in Dead by Daylight.

  • BHVR's practice is to trade the gameplay experience of one killer for 4 survivors' Auric Cells. Don't expect them to bring too many benefits to killers huh.

And I like that it’s something that mainly buffs more skilled Legions as lower mmr legions wouldn’t be good enough to really take advantage of this and higher mmr legion is where he needs help.

I think buffs to the weaker killers that are more skill requiring (skill ceiling) is the better route to go since generally lower mmr killers aren’t the ones that need help.

They indeed should strengthen the Killer's upper limit. I play as the Legion not because he is powerful, but simply because I like the character. However, the developers are forcing us to abandon our favorite characters to achieve victory. The developers are deteriorating the balance of this game, and even though they keep releasing new characters, it's not helping at all.

  • Given the significantly larger number of survivor players compared to killers, developers are likely to prioritize making survivor gameplay more favorable to generate revenue. Killers being unable to play with friends limits their appeal and player base. This issue isn't just about skill; rank balance is also a significant concern. As a survivor, I've found myself barely contributing throughout matches, yet still earning points. However, when playing as a killer, even with 3 kills and 8 hookings, I struggle to gain points, and sometimes even lose them (both my survivor and killer ranks are in the Iridescent tier). M1 killers also frequently struggle to catch survivors due to excessive and closely positioned pallets. By the time an M1 killer kick pallets, generators are often already fully repaired. I consider myself a very subpar survivor player, yet relying solely on pallets and windows allows me to stall an M1 killer for an entire match. This is particularly unfair to M1 killer players, as their efforts to improve their skills still might not help them catch survivors.

let legion damage the deep wound timer again

(its funny thats my only reason)

Indeed, BHVR should do this. Deep wounds now pose little threat to survivors.

  • @Blueberry said:

Some interesting ideas and I do think Legion could use a buff as well as raising his skill ceiling.

I’d personally make Deep Wounds also apply the “Deafened” status effect. This way there would be more mind game potentially as now he could break line of sight, make you think he’s going to spread more Deep Wounds but instead double back on you. It would make people be sure they were safe before committing to mending. Adds more depths to his game play.

I think this is a good idea. It could give the legion a greater advantage in psychological warfare.

  • It's not just Legion, I think there's a significant power gap among killers. Legion's ceiling isn't high, so it's unable to compensate with skill like a T0 killer, and the same goes for many M1 killers.

  • The movement speed boost is to prevent Legion from becoming a powerless killer after using his power to injure survivors.
