    I sympathize.

This game can be maddening to play killer as, especially with people using the snowmen tactically (right when I was starting to learn Ghostface too) and with how BM survivors can be at times.

My biggest gripe though is just how unfriendly some maps are to M1 killers, and how outdated half the roster is - either in terms of bad/boring addons or a bad kit.

I didn't even mention the BM survivors in my original post, but they're absolutely awful. I know you're supposed to just not let it get to you, but messing up and having it rubbed in your face is deeply annoying. Are there any tips besides, "Just ignore it" for not ignoring BM survivors?

So now my original comment is back, but the following 3 or 4 comments in the thread have disappeared?

I'm new to these forums. Is this normal? Is it me? Am I going mad?

I haven't been back on this thread all day, not sure why your comment disappeared for you. Not my doing at all though.

You should turn end game chat off or grow thicker skin,do you know what my problem is, people start the ######### then when, I finish it they report me.Thats low

So the solution to people telling me to kill myself is to either not look at it or just take it? Instead of punishing the people who say it? Are you secretly one of the dev's in disguise because that's not a solution at all...

Pick a low tier killer, stop worrying about winning ever, and just chill. Once you get the concern of "Victory' out of the way, things become much more fun.

If you see flashlights take infectious or lightborn or something "Yeah but X meta perk is so much better and franklins can-" yeah yeah, but I mean you can play with literally no perks sometimes and do okay; if taking a perk stops you from something that frustrates you SO much you don't want to play- why not take it?

I used to when learning, I don't need it really much anymore, but things like that can make the role less over whelming for you if you've been having a hard time.

It's not exactly the winning aspect that I'm focused on, it's more when people decide to belittle you because they believe themselves to be so much better. I can take a loss, I play team-based games all the time. I'm not good at taking people calling me slurs and telling me how I should kill myself because they're so much better. What's worse is that reporting for toxicity doesn't seem to do anything. The devs don't report how many accounts they ban for sportsmanship, and there's seemingly no punishment given for toxicity, so why even bother?

The matchmaking is what is killing it for me. I really hope they bring back the MMR soon. My games were much better when it was active.

Now I'm rank 10 and see groups of all red constantly. I played 7 matches in the last 2 days and 5 of them were against all reds and a few purples. I don't even wait for a second to get a match. The game just throws me to red ranks immediately.

And I've never seen it the other way. Plenty of games with rank 2 survivors (8 point difference in rank) but never have I had a game as rank 10 vs a bunch of rank 18's!

I would rather wait a minute or two for a fair match than get thrown to the wolves immediately.

I'm having the exact same issues. I had a game earlier against all sub-rank 5 people with an instant queue. Like make me wait a couple minutes for people at my rank, please. I would much rather wait than have a complete wash of a game. On the flip side, I'm also a rank 8 survivor, and I get similar queue times, but the killers are always below rank 10. What gives? Why are they instant queues but always so unfair?

I used to have your problem until I enabled crossplay. Playing on ps4 with crossplay turned off made the game so frustrating because most ps4 death-squads are actually afraid of PC killers so they turn off crossplay and go against me all the time. PC players might be stronger especially if they’re in a SWF but from my experience they’re way less toxic than ps4 SWFs

I have my crossplay turned on, turning it off on PC is asking for hour long queues. I turned it off for one match and didn't find a game after 30 minutes, so I turned it back on. Either way, people are toxic. I've seen toxic crossplay people who teabag and click their flashlights, and I've seen toxic PC players who just tell you to off yourself in post-game chat.

  • Knowing if they're grouped up does not always mean they have voice comms. I know I've grouped with friends before just to play and chill, but none of us were in a discord channel or anything. I understand your point, but I don't think knowing if they're grouped gives you the whole picture on if they had constant accurate comms.

Four particularly fair games from the past couple of days.

Jesus that's disgusting. I've seen people say that the MMR system is just hidden, but it obviously just doesn't work outright. There's no possible way for a rank 1 killer to have the same hidden MMR rating as four new rank 20 survivors. It's obscenely busted.

  • Here, I'll start with a few matches I've played over the past couple days:

    2020-08-08.png

This game is one of my favorites because I think it just exemplifies how messed up the algorithm is. I'm a rank 10 killer, but it pulled from rank 4 all the way to 19 because that makes sense.

    2020-08-08 (7).png

The first of many rank 1 games my friends and I had last night, none of which we did particularly well in obviously.

    2020-08-08 (5).png

Another rank 1 game. Our ranks are nowhere close to his, why did we get matched against this guy?

    2020-08-08 (2).png

The mess that is this video game.

    Screenshot (6).png

Ah, this one's a real gem. I love going against not one, but two rank 1's and a couple other red ranks to really seal the deal. I know this thread is just going to be inciting fanboys to come and defend the system saying that it'll get worked out, but it sincerely makes the game unfun. Even when my friends and I would do decently well last night against people at or below our rank, we wouldn't pip up because of this new system.

Red ranks were flooded with garbage players, pre new mm

Then the matchmaking "fix" they just rolled out should have addressed that. I don't understand how you're trying to defend a busted system that you even just admitted is busted. (Also I can see you're upvoting your own comments bud lol)

You won so your skill must be higher than your original rank put you as. MMR, Bud. It knows unless you purposely lose/DC to lower it to make a statement then all you're doing is creating the problem. Be proud. You did good in that match and showed skill to win.

I understand I did well and I'm sure my MMR is higher. The problem is that the in-game metrics don't account for the job I did in the match. I was able to get a three kill against people many ranks higher than me, yet the in-game model still shows that I only did slightly better than them.

    numbers dont matter, next

Way to take part in a conversation. You must be real fun to hang around with.

Update: still getting completely screwed in matchmaking. One of the rank 3's said he was grouped with a rank 17, which honestly I'm shocked there's not a system in place to prevent that. What's the point of having ranks if anyone can play with any rank? It defeats the purpose of even having a matchmaking system...
