Can you guys reconsider victor not latching onto heathily survivors? I think if you kept that with the new effect, and all the qol buffs, then they will be in a good place.

We're reading all the feedback around the Dev Update, and will continue to do so once these changes are testable on the PTB, so if you can, please do test it out and let us know what you think.

If a survivor gets unhooked and then healed, will it be possible for them to offensively body block the killer, and combo OTR into DS into DH?

    1 health state for OTR

2 health states to knock the survivor to the ground

    1 health state for DS

    1 health state for DH

Is this correct? Will survivors be able to chain 5 health states together?

It should work the same way that it does currently, just with a longer stun duration (and fun stabbing animation) :)

  • Hiya all!

Blindness isn't going anywhere - it will still be part of Ultimate Weapon.

As for the Dev Note and the implication that Blindness was being removed - that's entirely on us and we apologize for confusion.

My personal takes of this developer update:

The Twins: The switching of when Victor latches on is a simple yet effective change, which makes the Twins more of a multiple-injure style killer than a slugger. This will be less infuriating for survivors and ought to be more enjoyable for killers. Feels like a good change.

The Blight: Absolutely fine with this.

Haddonfield: Sounds good on paper. Never sure with maps and I'm not the best judge of them, so let's see how the PTB goes. It's promising.

Decisive Strike: FINALLY!!!!! Back to it's much more effective self, and with a new animation as a little extra garnish. Delicious!

Adrenaline: Feels fair. It's frustrating to see a hooked survivor become unhooked and sprint off into the sunset with a new lease of life. Reducing the speed burst to 3 seconds is fine, and it still retains the main strength of a free health state when the Exit Gates are powered. I really like this.

Ultimate Weapon: This does make the perk come across as more manageable. A stronger aura read (I'm guessing the aura is viewable for the full 15 seconds), whilst being less frequent and disruptive. Feels a fair change.

Emblems: Fine! Great! Many have asked for it and now it's nearly here. Can't see anyone have an issue with this.

Store: Again, some lovely changes. I especially like the mori change, so newer players can see more fully what a killer gives. Nothing but good vibes here.

Rift: Not anything that bothers me much, but I'm never a fan of paying to get stuff sooner. It's not "pay-to-win", but it smells a bit along those lines of paying extra to get extra stuff sooner.

Overall, it looks great on paper, with the rift the only thing that feels off to me, but maybe I'm reading too much into it. Great perk changes and the Twins could become more fun to play as and against. Another fine set of changes, so well done devs!

For Ultimate Weapon, the Survivor's aura is only visible for 3 seconds.

Also want to give a thanks for everyone sharing their thoughts on the Dev Update :)

  • Hiya!

The aura reading does not last for 15 seconds - that is the activation time. The aura is only revealed for 3 seconds.

  • Hiya!

Thanks for the above comments. It's definitely early (the update just went live!), but gathering initial feedback on how the map feels is important - similar to the threads we started asking about initial thoughts on The Unknown, Sable's Perks, and the Killer adjustments in our latest update.

So even if you don't fill out the poll (which you are welcome to do!), we would love to hear your thoughts on how the map plays, what's working and what might be falling short.

Of course, you're welcome to come back and share additional feedback as you spend more time in Greenville Square.

  • To address The Hillbilly's Chainsaw volume: While that wasn't in the Dev Update, the volume should be quieter when the update goes live.

  • Hiya,

Just popping in quick. DbD is a live service game and things are always subject to change - and that includes the map rework that was included on the original roadmap.

Can you make an idea summary like with trickster and Chucky, before you change Sadako so we can give ideas and feedback in advance.

We plan to continue creating feedback threads when changes go live on PTB and / or the live server.

If I understand correctly you're asking about a feedback thread before the changes go live. Even without a dedicated thread, we're always keeping our eyes peeled for feedback on multiple platforms.

  • Just popping in to say that I am reading and following the conversations here 👀

I appreciate y'all taking the time to discuss it, both with me and with each other.

  • I'll leave a question here: For you, what makes The Tricksters so miserable or unfun to play against?

Since his rework, we've been collecting feedback on how he feels, and we do want to know from both sides, Killers and Survivors. I'm happy to listen to as much constructive feedback on how you feel facing against him as you (and any Survivor player) wants to share. Are there specific parts of his rework that you dislike or are frustrating to play against? Something that you feel was overturned and worked better pre-update 7.4.0 (or the fixes since then)?

BONE CHILL AND BLOODRUSH FAILED FOR NEW PLAYERS. Devs don't understand the challenge of new survivor players in the game, and it's a serious quality of life issue. Events like Bone Chill and the bloodpoint rushes addition are not chances to get additional and much needed blood points. (Which is a massive, massive grind). Given that there is no effective MMR, it's a slaughterhouse and a gift for killers who have played this game for years and come in to shoot fish in a barrel. They should not be playing newer survivors. There are so many games where people are tunneled out of the game before they even have a chance to collect snowskulls. (Killers could learn that not every game has to be a 4k.)

Devs seem only interested in content creators voices and it's a shame. Content creators have no idea how hard it is. I wish at least one dev would post this in your office, "You can't learn to play basketball by being thrown on a NBA team."

    Hiya!

I just want to make sure I understand your feedback :)

For new players - is a main concern that Bone Chill didn't offer ways to earn extra bloodpoints during the event, as a sort of catch-up mechanic?

We love hearing from all members of our community.

  • Thanks y'all for all the awesome feedback so far! I know the event is still ongoing, and look forward to hearing more - the good, the bad, and the ugly.

For those who mentioned the lack of gameplay elements in the Bone Chill event - I was wondering if you had any examples of things you might want to see (for this event, or just in general). Some mentioned liking what was done in the Anniversary and Halloween event, as well as having more maps fit the theme (e.g. snow on non-snow maps), but wanted to see if there were any other ideas as a 'sky's the limit wish list' sort of thing.

  • So awesome to hear that y'all have been having fun with the snowskull fights -- and would enjoy seeing similar fun activities in other events :) I love reading stories or feedback like this, where both sides get together to enjoy some chill fun.

  • Thanks y'all for sharing your thoughts not just on Memento Blade but the other Add-ons - and Trickster in general.

  • Thanks all. Glad to hear that for several of you The Trickster feels better after the most recent changes. For those who think he feels in a pretty good spot - is it accurate to say that the biggest pain point / concern is his Add-ons? Specifically that Memento Blades feels like a must-have and/or that the others are too weak to provide much variety?

For those who feel The Trickster still isn't quite how you would want him - I saw a few comments about 8 knives vs. 6 knives, notably around the ammo capacity staying the same even though more knives are needed. I just want to make sure - did I miss any major context around that?

Okay but my question is how is it still not too strong at endgame? That was your original view on it but suddenly that changes due to complaints? Plus lots of the nerds you guys announce gets complaints but those don’t get reverted. Why was this one different?

    Hi!

For Batteries Included, we feel that we may have jumped the gun nerfing it from the PTB version. We'll be closely monitoring the situation on Live - and of course, we always want to hear feedback!

  • We're making some changes to The Trickster in today's hotfix. Please let us know what you think after the update goes live and you've had a chance to try them out!

    Full patch notes

    The Trickster

    • Decreased the base time between throws to 0.3 seconds (was 0.33)
    • Increased the Main Event throw rate multiplier to 66% (was 33%)
    • Increased the Main Event active duration to 6 seconds (was 5 seconds)
    • Reverted the time before Laceration starts decaying to 15 seconds (was 10 seconds)

  • I'm loving seeing all the comments and reading your thoughts!

It used to be a map which I really liked.

I remember how beautiful it used to look:

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/7SFDTGL2L4J8/image.png

It was magnificent. I was used to its loops and advantages, so I liked to get it. Slightly more as survivor than killer.

But now I can't stand to look at it. That... wasteland is not Disturbed Ward, and it never will be.

That screenshot is beautiful - I love the moon 🤩

  • You're right that the slow throwing speed - both base and Main Event - is feedback that we've heard and we're looking into.

Mandy mentioned here that the Designers are in the process of making changes to throwing speed but unfortunately these changes weren't done for today's bugfix patch.

I appreciate it but it is not the only problem, the laceration is very high and falls very quickly, please maintain the 10 seconds but reduce the laceration meter

We've been reading through all the feedback in this thread (huge THANK YOU again to everyone for sharing your thoughts !), as well as on social and other platforms, and passing it along to the rest of the team. We have noted everything that we've seen - including the laceration feedback.

  • Hi all!

Just wanted to give you a heads up that we're looking into the slow throwing speed, both base and during Main Event. We haven't forgotten about The Trickster, and still love hearing your thoughts and feedback.

  • Hi all,

For The Trickster, we are still looking into the slow throwing speed, on both base and Main Event.

  • Thank you all for sharing your feedback on The Trickster's changes. We're reading through and collecting all of it to share with the rest of the team.

We love hearing from you and appreciate you taking time to comment, so please keep sharing your thoughts!

Main Event throw-rate feels very slow currently. Wondering if this is a bug? There's a 1.33x multiplier during Main Event, but with the Blade throw-speed at base being 3bp/s, Main Event now throws at 4bp/s. It was much faster on the PTB and on the previous patch.

    Hi Tatariu!

If you haven't already, could you create a bug report here, filling in all the required info, so we can look into this? Thanks!

    Question:

    • Revert time between throws to 0.33 sec (was 0.25).

Does this also mean that Trickster will not speed up the throwing rate anymore? Because previously on Live he started at 3 Knives per second (so 0,33 seconds time between them) and increased it to 4 knives per second (0,25 seconds between them). On PTB it was changed to flat 4 Knives per second, and then reverted.

But does this mean it is the same as it was before on Live? So starting with 3 and going up to 4?

(Asking here because there is a discussion in another thread)

    Hiya Aven_Fallen,

With today's update, it was changed so that he throws 3 knives per second; the ramp up has been removed.

  • Mikaela's Witching Hour Outfit should now be back in the Store for a limited time, along with the previous Halloween Collections. If you still don't see it, please try restarting your game.
