If the goal is ruining the game then losing bp isn't a big deal.

I realized one thing while playing this game and that is that most people could care less about bloodpoints since what most people only care for is rank and piping. Killers by playing normaly average about 25-30k bp per game, which I believe to be preetty acceptable considering how much/well you would have to play with survivor to get that much when they tipically average about 15-20k per game while playing normaly

Oh please. Every nerf survivors get this forum blows up with cry babies. The difference is majority of the survivor nerfs are justified. The ruin nerf was not. Look at the current duration of matches and tell me it was wise for the devs to remove ruin without addressing the core issue it barely covered up. I bet you still think you should be allowed to vault windows countless times, have insta heal medkits and instant blind flash lights, or you should recharge sprint burst while running?

Most buffs killers get are met with a shadow nerf of something else or a buff to survivors. Trapper is just now getting the ability to replant his traps without picking them up. It took them over 3 years to add that feature. DS wasn't working and they fixed that in a week. Hag still has teleport bugs.

Ruin was somewhat justified. It's pressence was extremely high on a per match basis, the problem though is that the devs went way too far with the nerf, it's mostly useless now, it no longer slows down gen times nearly as much as it used to since it only affects those that aren't being worked on. What they should've done is revert the buff it got when they buffed all hexes, that way most people would have been forced to upgrade it to get any use out of it. The version we had before it's current state was just too good of a choice simply because it affected everyone without even upgrading it

This happens all the time and I dont wanna be subjective but most purple or green rank do this often. There was a game where the killer(Bubba) face camp on the first hook and that just ruins the game and you lose the will to finish the game.

Yeah but I mean one thing is to get facecamped, another is to get facecamped by bubba while he's revving the chainsaw bassically making it impossible to get saved

As a killer main. I'm going to guess he is just a douche bag. Or he just got his teeth kicked in 3 matches in a row.

Regardless, some of the toxicity we endure playing this game is ridiculous.

I would go with douche bag, he was running an endgame build (noed, blood warden, franklin's, and some other perk that was good for endgame, forgot) and just decided to waste the entire match camping me

Super lame ... I don't get the point of it honestly, even as a killer main. Whenever I hook someone, the worst I'll do is leave and circle back if I'm suspicious someone is nearby about to unhook. Why just facecamp tho? Is a guaranteed 1 kill better than a potential 2+ kill ? To some people, I guess. Too bad! There's always gonna be people who do that 'cause they don't have the skillz!!

Spectre is right... Nothin' to do but move onto the next game and hope it goes better.

I ussually roam around a bit after I hook someone to make sure no one is nearby then chase down the others, but like I said, I can see the use of camping when you haven't gotten a kill and the survivors are about to escape, at least that way it wasn't a total waste of a game. Though that guy just did it in the middle of the match for no reason whatsoever

first of all you use the report feature at the scoreboard page at the end of the match, then you get information from their steam account go into settings - customer support - create a ticket - fill out that form. you may want to add a video of the actions you are reporting but be aware "camping" is NOT reportable as it does not violate the ToS.

I play on ps4 so I can't report him outside of game I think (unless there's some page where I can go that I don't know about, but doubt it) but thanks anyway. And I figured that it wasn't really reportable, but at the very least they would've been able to see just how dumb it is for that to happen

  • @NullEXE said:

Flashlight stun him, go for the save

I was the only one with a flashlight in that game but I lost it with franklin's, as soon as he chased me

Yes it is quite unfair. And the sad part is this type of toxic abuse of killer power is "Not punishable" some will even defend it as a "legit strategy". I say nope. That is a clear petty action of a sore killer who just couldn't hack it and down anyone else before they were Gen rushed. Now don't get me wrong I've had my fair share of situations like this on killer side. But I would move around and hope to catch someone else trying to make a save...not just stand there playing with my nuts while the unlucky soul I downed struggles. Was just a BG overall amigo. Nothing to do about it but move on to the next game. And avoid basement bubbas...they are the most unfun and lazy of all killers.

I don't believe it to be a "legit strat" but I can at least sympathize with a killer doing it when the survivors are about to escape, to at least get one kill so it wasn't a total waste, but that guy flat out did it in the middle of the match

  • @Freki said:

well a killer that does not do anything but camp like this lets the other survivors do everything else. I'm sorry you were on the receiving end of this but why be salty about it, not every match is a camping bubba.... not every match is toxic, if you are finding it so and they break the ToS report them via the ticket system and have video to back you up.

Where do I go to report? I kinda forgot to do it after the match so I want to do it now since I still have the video

  • A lot of things would have to change for it to happen, though if it did happen then it would be really interesting if it was only for a really passive or really situational perk. Another thing that could work would be that the fifth slot would only work for the perks of the specific survivor or killer you're using, an example in the case of killers could be huntress with lulliby in the 5th perk slot or in the case of survivors then jake with calm spirit on 5th perk slot

And yet Ruin got nerfed because you survivors couldn't adapt to a ######### skillcheck.

Not everyone can hit the great skill checks, especially because of this games horrible conection issues, and because old ruin skill checks were designed really badly in the sense that they were really dark/red in an alredy dark game when you (most of the time) have a red generator in the area of the sreen where skill checks appear. Also if I'm not mistaken (which I could be) old ruin's skill checks had no interior color and only the dark red color on the borders so it was harder to spot the diference between a good and a great skill check, so people that tried to get greats (even if they were bad at them) aimed to hit the very end of the space of it and ocassionally miss because of bad timing or connection. Also having multiple people on the same gen when ruin was around was really bad because the regression could stack up at times and you would see a lot of progress dissapear when nobody even missed a skill check

And actually survivors didn't have that much of a problem with ruin until all hexes were buffed to the point where they did preety much the same thing on any level. Like ruin affecting all survivors (unlike before), or noed having the exposed aspect on all levels (unlike before). Honestly most killers lost all interest in leveling up the hexes because the strongest parts of them were already unlocked now from level 1. At least that's what it seems

    @Mistikus said:

most of survivors didnt ask for ruin nerf, devs was the one who wanted to change it

This is mostly true. Survivors were asking for a ruin nerf in a way. But nobody asked for what the devs did to it. Honestly most people just wanted it to go back to the way it was before the hex buffs. That way people would at least have a reason to level them up, and it wouldn't have shown up as much in matches. I remember that before the hex buff,s ruin was kinda rare to see but it was extremely rare to see it level 1 or 2, because it didn't affect all of the survivors unless it was maxed. So most people would wait until it was maxed before using it

The discussions in this forum are pointless. I broke the problems of DbD and it's balance down in other threads and why a loud minority just keeps yelling here no matter what the devs do.

It is not so much about the game it is about people not understanding game design and game dev work in general.

Also you can't satisfy everybody and what they do is to satisfy the ranks with most players.

Dude, the point of a discussion forum is for it's members to discuss even if it's pointless and even if it doesn't affect the game at all. I admit that I don't know anything about game design or dev work, but as a gamer I know enough to have an opinion on the game, and what I originally talked about is about a theoretical situation in which devs would have to justify game logic, and what I said is a simple reason why they could implement something like a debuff for being injured. And it is a posible solution that could satisfy most of the playerbase if done right, because it slows down the game enough for newer or weaker killers and it also gives more of a reason to survivors to heal eachother, which is something they should do anyway and some unfortunately don't bother to do so. I also know that it's imposible to satisfy everybody, which has been made very obvious for anyone that spends 3 minutes in this forum. And again it's a discussion forum, and what I was doing was discussing with someone about a possible change they could implement if the devs ever do so. You didn't have to be so sarcastic with your first comment about a valid point

  • In a serious sense: I'm willing to bet huntress since her whole reason for doing what she does is because of men coming into her home and killing her mother

In a joke sense: demo cuz he treats all of his victims the same

That's an interesting idea, but I bet you people would be up in arms if there were debuffs for being injured. Which is arguably fair since you are 1-shot at that point.

I think what the game needs is a single, straightforward time waster in the early game. Something along the lines of finding gas cans around the map, which are used to fuel up gens. Before this point, no gens can be worked on. But once a gen is fueled up, it will stay that way permanently and can be worked on by anyone.

I don't think people's problems would/should boil down to the debuffs, I personally believe that, rationally, BHVR could get away with a change like this, based on the idea that no person alive could ever be injured like that and have the focus or affinity to work on gens or other "complicated" stuff, plus the fact that gen rushing is a bit of a problem for a lot of people, but I personally don't believe that sloppy or thana need buffs even if its slightly in this scenerio (I'll finish that thought later), I also don't think that plague needs a buff, but a rework, she is the killer nobody needed or asked for, a lot of people hate playing as her because of her weird playstyle and the fact that her puke has a really weird hitbox and a lot of people hate playing against her because most people that use her just go for the braindead aproach with her of just puking at you until youre injured, even if your litterally at basic attack distance. I think she could benefit a lot from a rework so that she doesn't feel so braindead and has a more suitable playstyle.

Now about sloppy and thana, sloppy has been stronger than ever since that ridiculous overbuff they did to it, and thana is really well balanced in it's state, buffing them even if it's indirectly would be really bad for the balance of the game especially when people have been using them both together a lot lately (wich is a preetty scumy thing to do since they both make healing unbareably slow when together)

The gas can thing though wouldnt be bad as long as there are more gas cans than survivors so that it doesn't hurt someones chances of getting one in case a killer decides to closely guard 1 or more of them, I also don't think the killer should be able to see the auras of gas cans (if they should have) so that at least its an even playing field in that regard

  • Once me and a few friends tried to get the "where did they go trophy" (everyone escape through hatch)(this was also before the egc was implemented, so killers couldnt close hatch yet) and we were up against a pig that was tunneling one of us, 3 of us found the hatch while the other was being chased and then he got downed close to us, so I decided to sneak up on the killer and try to do a ninja unhook while the others were waiting next to us by the hatch, as soon as the killer put my friend on the hook she ran towards the two by the hatch, I rescued my friend and we both ran for the hatch while the others opened and escaped, but as soon as we were about to jump the killer downed my friend again right next to the hatch, I body blocked her while she was in the animation for cleaning the weapon and we both managed to jump in. We were laughing for a while after that because we all jumped in right in front of her and she didnt even try to grab us mid animation. She left the second the game ended

  • I'm gonna be honest and say that I understand both sides of the argument before anyone gets salty for something I say, and I believe that we can have a discussion about this without starting yet another survivor/killer war for balance so I would appreciate if no one tried to pick a fight for this:

The thing is that killers don't really NEED to camp or tunnel, maybe in the endgame to at least secure a kill in the end and force whoever is left to escape but they can just play normally and still get 3k or if they actually try even a 4k. Honestly I feel like ######### every time I have to wait 15 plus minutes on the horrible matchmaking just to die in the first 5 minutes of the game because I was tunneled or to just not be able to do anything becaused I was camped straight off the bat. And it's not like there are not other viable strats for this type of killer (like patrolling around the hook, or checking it every few seconds) and in the case of the low rank killers they can learn and build strats so they don't have to camp like for example using BBQ with devour hope, wich gives them a reason to actually leave the hook and forget it and the survivor that was hooked (or use make your choice).

I know that the game is horribly unbalanced and sometimes the only way to deal with a really bad game is to do something that is frowned upon by more than half of the playerbase, but people just have to understand that there are better ways to play that are actually way more fun than having a staring contest to the death or actively hunt down the weakest of the bunch even though you're already chasing someone else or could chase someone else that's way closer to you.

Imo the game needs more incentive to not camp or tunnel, because there just isn't enough, and I'm not gonna bash on SWF because it just makes sense that a team that comunicates has an easier time than one that doesn't, but I will admit that SWF can be really strong against certain killers and killer types (like the ones that camp).

Btw I know that this post might have seen long winded but this is actually a really good discusion for me.

  • There is absolutely no difference in doing prestige, I havent prestiged my huntress and every level I get her op add ons
