one really interesting Idea i just had. what if she could see survivors while haunting, but in her view all the survivors constantly went through the "phasing" state like her passive so even tho she can see them shes not sure exactly which way they are going, nor the exact spot.
-
HINT HINT rancor can be used to hostage the game in a rather clever way, and if your not doing this when you can you arent using it right.
If you down the obsession with 1 generator left leave him slugged. he becomes a hostage against the team, The moment they pop that last gen you can outright murder, and previous to that you can bet at least one hero boy will try to swoop in and top off his downed heal. Every time i've had the opportunity to do this I get either 3-4 kills. 3 cause well hatch is still broken. -
(additionally if you unhooked a survivor without giving the spirit the time to find some1 else or the time to get at least two gens away... you can be dang sure shes gonna phase and come right back... quick grabbing someone off the hook doesnt help you. it just helps the killer get to stage two on a hook sooner)
-
Its sad that you want me to intentionally make openings for you and play like an idiot because you survs are entitled. This is a copy paste message notifying you that if a killer KNOWS 1 or more other survs are within 20m of the hook they too are allowed to patrol said 20m instead of going wandering off so you guys can feel better about your fake altruistic selfves.
Also non copy paste message. Spirit like the wraith has the problem of because of her stealth and mobility being seen to camp when shes not. she relies on mind games, switching targets and seemingly random, and hauling across the map. This means she will appear to be camping sometimes when in actuality she was very far away in mid chase.
This is a classic 'I didn't see you coming so you must've been camping' event that occurs for the pig, myers, wraith, and now spirit.
Also can I just say that I get really tired of the people that claim theres no skill involved in camping? knowing when to guard the hookl instead of making the game easier for survs takes a large amount of skill and awareness. managing the hooked survivor while 2-3 are all twirling around you actually takes some serious effort. especially when you know they're running borrowed time. In fact I would say far more skill than is required in your typical chase for most killers.

I got run as spirit through basically every pallete on the map by one claudette today. she knew the spirit well enough to walk and trick when I haunted. so it was literally impossible for me to catch up to her despite having bloodlust three for a good portion of it. the nerf is bad, especially for slow killers who needed it.
-
Its probably already been said, But Body blocking is not bullying. thats intentionally protecting your friends and an absolutely legitimate tactic.
Flashlight Tbagging sandbagging or extreme looping are the only things that are bullyiing. -
I never went full slugging until today. had a game where all 4 survs were immediately right on top of me when i downed the first person, so I dropped she crawled into a pallete zone, and so obviously i just screwed with the others. I had all 4 of them down in a probably 16 meter radius. It was ridiculous. I had no sluggin build or nothing. two of em had the perk to heal themselves from dying, So that happened but they didnt wait at all so i was nearly on top of them and put them right back on the ground both times.
I won with 4/4 but it was low point scoring cause it was my first hook on each. I didnt enjoy it. I doubt they enjoyed it. It wasnt my plan but im not gonna pick someone up when all 4 of you are right there @_@ definately one of my weirdest games

@Jack11803 I don't remember what it was like before but.... yeah that perk sucks.
that being said, the last player alive is a whole different slew of hatch issues right now. I fundamentally disagree with any perk that requires your friends to die to get good. just seems like a poor idea.*EDIT
looked at the old version. Yeah that was way OP. 3 survs dead means no auras at all which TBH is fair IMO, but at 2 survs having 75% reduction is kinda BS. that being said its still a weird perk, because until others are dead it doesnt work well so you cant really say only one person in a group would need to bring it. even 1 surv dead drastically cripples the killers aura reading and counters a slew of both perks and add ons across the board.
-In short I agree with that nerf BUT I also dont like what they nerfed it into.
regardless I still dont like ti cause ti relies on dead friendos. -
@Grey87
No what hes saying does make some sense, yes killer can use auras to find you, but you can also use auras to find him. Aura reading like dark sense/bitter murmur augment the stealth game. knowing where the killer is going and what direction hes going is massive boon for stealth. Additionally if he also has his gen-finish-aura perk active you'll know if he finds you right after a gen completes, and then next time a gen completes you can fake him out , moment his aura disappears change direction.I love love love the bitter murmur/dark sense perks on both killers and survs, cause it pulls people away from the generally toxic builds by one perk, or allows you to really pro stealth. They encourage mind game, and add to the field the more need for fakeouts even at a distance. gives stealth an active role instead of just a click simulator role, especially in SWF if you have only one person in your group running it.

Had a few new ideas after playing as her more. I agree with allthe above that she needs a minor tweak, nto a major one. 10s cooldown would be a good one, but i think most import thing is remove survivors ability to hear her "whooshing" while invisible.
Heres the new ones. Giver her a limited object phase through in spirit world. Like wraith kinda. As I play if im following scatches or grass wiggles and someone goes through a window Im forced to immediately end haunt to learn location and navigate the window. So my idea is this:
When phased/haunting she should be able to speed climb through windows and over pallets, Id say even faster than survivors. In the case of someone just dropping a pallet they still have her 4 second charge time to GTFO, in the case of in a chase with a window jump: her speed and phasing isnt wasted because of a window, but again she has to choose to spend those 3-4 seconds charging immobile. So im talking about a very limited ability to almost walk through/ignore certain parts of the environment. THe caveat to this is that she should still be able to have pallets dropped on her while beginning and executing the haunt.
As it stands right now one of the most upsetting moments for me while playing her is when i start my phase and round a corner to see a window.

Someone proposed a great idea to me today.
What if killer could close the hatch but only for 30-60 seconds at a time with a cooldown of something like 10 seconds(to warrant for the chaos of a chase) in between. it would allow last surv to use hatch as a distraction while doing gens, or alternatively in the case of a standoff with surv at full HP this would occur:Killer closes the hatch right when they arrive then hits surv. Surv has to evade for 30 -60 seconds(would need discussion on length). If surv successfully evades and makes it back to the hatch they can jump in without being interrupted (while its on the 10second cooldown) if they dont get there during the ten second cooldown but it hasnt been shut again then the killer can interrupt.
This would cause surv to be able to win anytime he found it, with a good lead on the killer, first. But would make it so if killer found it first with a full life surv he still has a chance, but not a guaranteed victory.
My only issue with this would be in the case of hatches being opened by key. Im not sure if the killer should have that power of closing in this case since things like franklins already exist to hard screw over map and key users.

As a wraith main I disagree @Mister_xD pre-'changes' ill say his ability still helped a ton in a chase. removing terror radius and red stain tripped people out, also if you go invisible and stand under a pallete you can body block a surv from getting the trigger who often even in high rank will dink around for a moment trying to pull the pallete down. you can do something very similar appropriately with windows. I cant tell you how many people ive downed because they are trying to jump a window while im re-appearing while in the way.
Further with the old windstorm and a re-appearance time reduction Id often appear underneath the pallete after going invisible mid looping and use the speed boost to juke/catch people. you'd be surprised how well that works if you time it right.
That being said, yes he was weak. Yet I enjoyed playing him far more than nurse or huntress. (I despise the chainsaw killers for some unknown reason) I've been too busy playing spirit to try the new him yet, but with having a built in medium grade windstorm i can see him being quite formidable once you learn the proper tricks.
Further note, if a player is ever stupid enough to hide in a locker from a wraith will all seeing. Its a good time. Less frequent sure but you can pull people out of lockers while cloaked. Ive, not in chase, found quite a few locker people just while walking by and been like 'OOoop hold up, just let me reach on in heeeeere' course thats more of a noob stomper kinda thing since lockers are less used by experienced players.

@CoolAKn Thanks for this info! if I ever get the perk I'll probably save it for the final hook too.

Commented on three threads about this now btu this one got me thinking. You guys should watch some old japanese spirit movies, like rashomon gate or something. Her voice should be closer to the the kabuki play Yotsuya Kwaiden. Find presentations of the character named "Oiwa", but also try to find ones where its done by a female, cause of course classic kabuki is an entirely male cast.
Or check out the movie "
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aH0qXzVaO48"Spirits voice should be more subtle and windy with occasional high pitched sobbing almost like a jealous lover. More like wind through a broken reed flute or something.
written description is hard to provide, -
I do not like the voice. never heard the PTB one tho so i cnat say if its better or not
-
I agree I hate the spirits weirdly loud groans.

Also... can you save DS? I thought it had to be used the first time you get grabbed?
-
Neither tunneling or DS make me mad as surv or killer. Tunneling is a tactic, a smart one often, and IMO the survs responsibility to stop/prevent. both as surv and killer ive seen someone pull someone off the hook while killers close OR watched as one pulls off the hook and then crouch walks away while the unhooked sprints. When killer gets there he sees tracks and... well follows them to find the same person that was already hooked. Happens all the time. I chase before even realizing im going after the same person.
Only times the above is okay is if the savior has borrowed time for the unhooked.
And yeah sometimes you just find the same person again and that sucks for them... but i mean what're you supposed to do? pretend you didnt see em and saunter on off?
That'd be stupid especially on some of the weaker killers who cant down from full healed state. as a hillbilly or chainsaw, tunneling is rarely warrented or needed cause you can insta down others, but for two hit killers weakest link is the best way to take down the survs. As a killer Im always very impressed when a surv body blocks for the person they took of the hook, and even more so if after they get away from me as i turn towards them with a dead hard. (sprint burst is just as effective but well not impressed cause takes no skill) and... as weird as this sounds i reward them by going after them instead of their friend (even tho the with the burst of speed from being injured normally means the friend is actually still closer and easier to catch after the hit recovery)
And DS? Yeah its annoying adding a little bit more to a chase, especially if someones looping and T-bagging, but you know what? they sacrificed some other skill to gain the extra time for their team it provides and in the end it doesnt bother me too much.
Only time DS is annoying is if I find out all 4 survs have it. If thats ever the case then yes... I tunnel the next one I find HARD. because at that point so much time has passed you have to take someone out or its a guaranteed lose if you arent one of the big 3 killers.

I did not know this. now I do, good to know both as killer and surv. thanks all! and yes it was dropped during the pickup animation.

I main Wraith. So uh this happens a lot. I'll hook someone, stealth and run check way across the map some other generators, I'll find a sprint trail of someone heading towards the hook I left and I follow it. I find survivor, but dont uncloak still cause might as well make use of my speed buff of course so I chase while stealthed. Survivor reaches just about to the hooked victim when I catch up and I uncloak to bash whoever.
This repeatedly gets me hate mail for camping, when point in fact I most certainly wasn't but... of course they can't tell any different because of how wraith stealth works. Seriously every other game I get this complaint from sum1. TBH tho I've had survivors defend me against other survs in chat afterwards because they are aware that I didn't in fact camp, because they know how wraith works and saw my shimmer as I was stalking back to the hook or across map at time of incident.
Pet peev of mine? Someone calling spine chill on me for camping.... when were already down to the last 3 gens when 1 or two are within the 36 meters. Of course im gonna freaking come back in my patrol. theres no reason for me to run the other side of the map if they give me a power zone hahaha.
