ah what the hell, updating so i have to wait anyway....still not reading it, but i've seen enough comments of the usual suspects, always in attack mode and ignoring the main issue. That this forum is biased towards behaviour is what to expect.
Maybe look around on other sm and forums and see what the real player base really thinks of dc penalty's, toxic behaviour etc...
like i said, people dont dc or hook kill for nothing, fix the problem and you dont need a solution....its as simple as that

Yes let's discuss my post history. I play 50/50 and call out mains from both sides for their hyperbole and vitriol. I use statistics I have gathered over 5 years of playing this game as the basis for my "opinion." Insinuating someone is in cahoots with BHVR simply because they don't agree with your extremely biased opinion is the epitome of childishness and inanity. Your assumption about my gameplay is so off it is sad. I don't camp. I don't tunnel. I don't use NOED. I don't use Decisive or Deadhard EVER. I don't care about how many kills I get - I care about having fun. Heck some matches I just goof off with Pig and Legion.. so don't come in here assuming you know ANYTHING about how I play. What I stated was factual though - NO ONE has a duty to make sure anyone else has fun in this game aside from themselves. You may not agree with what some people consider fun, but that doesn't matter because you do not get to dictate to anyone how they SHOULD have fun. You have these rules on what you think a killer should and should not do - then go play killer! I don't tell anyone how they should play - you play how you want - you bring whatever perks, items, addons you want - because you paid for the game just like everyone else. If you wanna hide in lockers 90% of the game - knock yourself out. If you want to camp and tunnel - more power to you.
What makes you the authority on how this game SHOULD be played? If you don't like the way people play you can either disconnect, die on hook, or simply stop playing the game. I have over 4k hours in this game and almost all of that I have streamed - to entertain people. I do goofy builds, perkless builds, heck I even have channel redemptions that can make me find the killer and point at them for no frickin reason, channel point redemptions that make me let survivors go or run around letting them boop my snoot - why??? Because that is fun to me. So maybe stop assuming how others play when you have no idea because it simply makes you look even more inane and jaded. So before you decide to "come for" me - I suggest you take a step back and rethink that. You simply are not equipped to have this type of battle of wits and facts with me. Sit down.
sorry, to long read and besides that....not really intrested

I'm a survivor main. I get annoyed by survivors DCing because it almost inevitably leads to me taking the hatch, instead of having a fun trial.
we are not talking about the same matches, cause else you wouldn't get the hatch but you would be dead before you could even think about a fun game

Omg this comment is filled with false information it’s insane.
“People don’t DC or kill themselves on hook on hook because get hit once or don’t like the killer.” -Well this statement was contradicted in your next paragraph so now this is meaningless. And the survivors I went against DID DC on their first hit and because I was Spirit.
Quit defending DCs like survivors don’t abuse them. It’s not right, it does ruin games for others and if you don’t see that, then you’re admitting something you don’t wanna admit about yourself.
If the majority of survivors unanimously decided to DC every time they see a Spirit, us Spirit players will literally never be able to play the game. I love Spirit, I want to enjoy her. I understand why you people don’t like her but please just quit doing the small PP move.
it ruins the game for others hey...didn't you read my comment? the players who starts to ruin the game is the killer, he is the one that makes or breaks a game....and i'm not talking about your swf's...they dont just dc

"The killer found me first? DC!"
How do you prevent these DCs, given that someone has to be found first?
depending on the how....try to look at it from a survivor point at view, first 10sec of a game, a killer got you from behind with a 1 hit kill.....hmmmm not a gen popped and you didn't even take a step....or could take a step, imo i understand that someone like that thinks....f this. A killer player should atleast put in a litlle effort to make a game fun, not just go for easy kills and speedruns.
in the situation i described a killer could have initionate a chase, a sort of heads up that he is coming if you not start running, but thats not always the case, and there you have it, problem reaction

Tbf some people do dc even before the killer shows their an A hole
never had that happen, but its possible, even possible that someone had to take a call or open the door....and who knows maybe his game crashed. my experience is that when i see people dc then i always find out verry fast why.
-
i'm not going to continue in this discussion, OP made his point and its a valid point. Look at the amount of treads on subjects regarding toxicity....its just sad that this game witch normaly played is adictive as hell ( for me it WAS) is ruined by toxic games that made a leap in the last couple of days. the fact is that people dump this game and indeed will not spend there money on it anymore....i understand you cant keep everybody happy, but this is just getting out of control and its just sad, cause loads of fun gamers want to play a fun game....win or lose, and thats just not the case. Besides that, when they make there thoughts known on forums like this one, they always get attacked....and thats even more sad.
i said my piece and wish you all, all the best.
-
and by the way...thiis has more to do with the game then this forum....but this forum is a discussion forum right? people tent to have differnent opinions and as long we dont start name calling, there should not be a reason to remove/edit comments....from what i'm seeing in this tread, your comment is the first with an undertone...so dont feel sad or mad when people react ( like me)
its just a discussion
-
here we go again....maybe you should learn aout consent in law..forced consent isn't consent. ccontract excist out of 2 party's agree on something, bhvr's game and this forum, forces a person to agree after they bought the product, or else they cant use it.
but lets agree on 1 thing here...you're a great spokesman for bhvr ( behaviour) funny name he wink wink....
-
thats the differnce between you and me....( and lots of other as seen in the last year and a half) i dont follow orders, i dont need someone to tell me what i can or can't say, do or dont.....need i go on? that a company like bhvr or a forum then feels it has to make me pay for breaking THERE rules by banning me or editing my comments....fine with me...you want more explanation or did i make myself clear enough?

The main reason behind Tunneling is that it helps removing one survivor from the game early. And people do it to win easier. The only way to remove it is to make it so that tunneling no longer helps to win games.
trust me i know the main reason well...a victim 4 out of 5 games i play....but like i said more end rewarding takes that away...even at the end game camping and tunneling is not an option when thats the time to kill them all off.....
-
@Junylar said:
The only way to remove tunneling is to make survivors share hook states or something, the only way to remove camping is to remove the hook mechanic completely. These changes are so dramatic for DbD they will probably never happen, because the devs can't fix the "Iron Will on the ground" bug for more than 3 years I think. Some things are just too complicated for those who work on the game, so the only change you can expect is endless new cosmetics and visual reworks, and occasional new maps with hideous level design.
not the only way....make the game more end rewarding for a killer, so that his goal is to finish survivors only when the last gen is done, and offourse more difficult to open gates...search for matching keys to open them or something like that.
no more reason to camp and tunnel anymore if your goal is to hook all survivors not to kill right away.
then survivors made it till the end, dead or not, they got to play the game.
for the OP, toxicity is trough the roof the last week, even know 5 other players who dumped the game cause of the last days....killers an surviors, so not spending money on this game anymore....me neither by the way, and thats the part i dont get from a selling point of view from BHVR.....isn't that the point of selling a product? making as much cash as you can on happy buyers? Look at the amount of unhappy survivors...and killers? both blaming eachother...hmmmmm strange when you think about it, both want to play a fun game but both only get to play toxic games? As a survivor i never run in to supertoxic teammates?
-
i wont even respond to that...but its sad what your saying.
-
i pressed i dont agree, but then the game wont work....get it now? forced to agree to use the product i paid for...

If you didn't agree to the rules, why did you click to agree?
omg....never mind
-
and without a DC penalty you would force killers or even toxic survivors to think about if they want to continue with there behaviour...cause if no one stays in your game...more arguments i can crush?
-
i never agreed to these rules, i was forced and thats a big difference....and stop with the bs that games are unplayable....killers make some games unplayable, and thats why people dc, and even so...if on or 2 or even 3 DC...well you just move on to the nxt game, cause thats how it works....that you or some others here have problems with unplayable games....not my problem sinds its not your or bhvr's problem that a lot of games are unplayable because of toxic behaviour
-
and keep in mind that most survivor main can handle a few rounds with [BAD WORD] killers...but thats not always the case, sometimes you get 20 in a row and the result is that you [BAD WORD] on the hook or DC.....
the things that some killers say, its my job? ok so now your getting paid to ruin a game? its your objective as a killer to make sure that 4 survivors dont enter that gate, that they die in the end is ok....but not before ever touching a gen, its a game and a game can be good fun for all...win or lose.....everyone should know by now that certain gameplay is just pure toxic and not how we should play with eachother....no mather what you all say, its not wanted behaviour
-
keyboard issues...sorry
-
indeed tunneling is one of them, killers that dont let you play the game and go for speedruns...those i dont DC but happens a lot and have full respect for that...its funny that only on this forum a lot of comments are pro penalty, but forums that are not related to bhvr are 80% against this bs rules.
-
@Nathan13 said:
Why play the game if you DC and screw over your teammates?? This is why we have the penalty.
why screw your team? stop turning things up side down, the reason why people dc is cause of extreme behaviour that starts with killers, fix that and the dc would be less of a problem
-
i'm not a sheep and not good in folowing bs rules.....the dc penalty is bs like op stated, so is behaviour's behaviour with adressing the main reason why people dc....and you call it ragequit, we cal it....im not gonna play with complete idiots,
the fact is that a company should not have the power to decide how you use or not use the product you bought and so do none of you.
the only thing they made sure of is that i and many others will never spend a sinle penny to all company's involved with this game
-
@Mandy said:
And when you play an online game, you're signing up to the EULA of that game and have to play by those game rules. DC'ing is against those rules, hence it's punished.
you mean the rules that when you click i dont accept....youre not able to play?? hmm sounds more like forcing then choosing
-
All these problems could be fixed easily.....make the game more ending focused. Reward killers for killing the survivors when the last gen pops and offcourse make it harder to open gates....killer wont try that hard anymore...and i mean the games that end without a single gen popping....and survivors would have the feeling they atleast got to play the game I love NOED and exit block perks....this means i got to the end and hoped to get out, but then bodys drop and hope fades away...just make the end harder and more rewarding...
-
good BEhaviour doesn't need defending, only bad BEhaviour just look how many killers jump in to defend there strategy.....
-
i'm a survior and thats the one thing i dont complain about.....noad....that moment you think you're in the clear and then body's just start dropping....i rather face a fair killer who let you get that far and then whipes us all out, then a slugger who ends the game before its even started

There is literally an emblem saying "don't let them do gens" for killer. Lightbringer. It tells killers to finish it asap.
Your sat there saying there's a difference between gens being done and my wiping them out. There isn't. Both are not enjoyable for either side. But it's a game, and some people play to win. Myself included. Both of them are the players playing efficiently and correctly.
It's not my job to ensure the other side has fun. It's the games job. And whilst the killers job is to kill, and remove people from the game, you can't complain about someone doing what they're supposed to. If they're good at the game, and you get stomped, then no matter what they do your going to lose, just be greatful they didn't drag it out and let you queue up again for another game you might potentially win.
We aren't going to agree on this, so it's best just to leave it at that. Enjoy your games pal.
indeed we're not onna agree, and i'm not your pal.....and its not a job its a game...

That's great, there are some killers who will farm with you (I've done it during the bp event).
However, the killers role primarily is to kill. When and how don't matter (outside cheating). Their job is to kill as quickly and efficiently as is possible, not to ensure the survivor have fun.
This is an asymmetrical game problem, where one sides task is to take out the others in any way possible. If you don't like someone being good at the game, then maybe this game isn't for you.
Maybe the killers definition of fun is that they enjoy feeling like they stomped the survivors and earned the 4k. Maybe their definition includes a side note of *bonus points if you play well enough for them to DC*.
Their definition of fun probably isn't the same as yours. I know how boring farming repeatedly gets. I couldn't do it for more than 5 games a day. It's just boring. I'd rather be hitting them long range hatchets, or blinking perfectly as nurse to get that hit. These feel satisfactory to me, more than any bp will.
TL:DR- the issue you have is with a killer playing their role correctly and efficiently. Since this is your issue, maybe switch games. I know home sweet home and monstrum 2 are pretty good.
Your right in wat your saying, but it seems we all forget that we all just looking for some fun in life. If your a good skilled killer and see that your not facing a swf team and can easily catch all survivors, then why not play them a litlle have some fun with them or make them work hard for it....a good killer dictates the game. and could end it when he or she wants. No need to end it when in the prosces people dc or just quit playing. If you only play like your really playing a tournament for life or dead....come on, allready enough ######### going on in the world, no need to end your game with knowing that you made the day of 4 other players worse. We all know there is toxic gameplay, and thats not gonna change, i'm fine with that, as long as i dont get punished for it.
And i dont totally agree with your killer playing his rol correctly and efficiently.....your playing a game with other players, that your good and show your skills is fine....but the how is what mathers, there is a difference between a game where gens pop faster then the speed of light and the games where i'm in...putting on map pressure is not whiping out a team without a gen being done.

Have you ever played a ranked game where losing didn't make you drop in rank?
The point of any ranking system is to get you to play against people of equal skill. If you lose over a prolonged period of time, it's because your skill doesn't measure up. If you lose a few times, you'll get your rank back. This isn't a problem.
yes DBD is that game.....died many times at the end, but got to do gens, totums, chases.....and ranked up.....and i'm not talking about good killers who get every survivor on the hook 3 times in a row....i'm talking about games like that nurse and thats just an example of many, many many games you can get in a row. There is absolute nothing you AND other players can do to counter some games. If i had a nickle for every game i played where 4 survivors bled out on the floor with in the first 3 min of the game i would be richer then Bezos.....There are tons of posts like what i descripe on every platform so its nothing new. The fact that you just have to except it and get de-pipped in the end is what starts a bad vibe on the other games your gonna play. But maybe one of you could tell me what the harm is in staying in your rank instead of de-ranking....cause there is no hurt to anyone....everybody happy in the end.

Dude, it's an asymmetrical game, of course one side isn't going to have fun
please, i'm not intrested in a discussion on who thinks is right about playing games and having a blast or not.
I'm starting a discussion that could counter a lot of dc's or early death's on the first hook.
no hurt in keeping the player in the rank he is currently in, if you do good you move higher, if not you stay the same......you made it there in the first place so you did something right....and not to talk about the matchmaking when you are set up against a red rank level 1 killer when your whole team is green.
-
thanks for your input
-
Not the discussion i want to get in to, a game should atleast be fun for all players involved. That is the deffinition of a game. If your goal as a killer is to take away all ways to earn bloodpoint for other players, so you get some more. hmmmmm.....and what your claiming is not all true.....i had cool killers who kinda helped all surviors and even let them all go.....bloodpoints we all get is higher then i see in those short games.
we all pip up and we all have fun.
not that i want all the games to be like that..
but like i said...not going further in that discussion, this kind of BEhavior is allready discussed enough, killers who defend it and survivors who complain....not gonna end.
-
So now its a killers job to prevent a survivor from filling emblems? I thought it was his job to kill them all so they cant leave.
like all surviors tell the killers, loosing is not the problem, getting killed is fine, but atleast make us fight for it, and respect the fact that we all just wanne play a good or fun game.
-
i dont get it, joined a few discussion about suicide on the hook, wich i do with toxic killers. but as a killer in this household there has never been a suicide on a hook or even a dc.... as a killer its as simple not to be toxic, just dont run after the survivor who just got of the hook, dont camp around the hook and if you choose to use the basement ( i dont) then get the hell away from there so the survivor can be rescued. When your a good killer the survivors will get to do almost or all gens, but they wont make it out.
Another rule we have here...always let the last survivor go free!! With a low rank team wich you can clearly tell...sometimes i lett them all go....no hate mails and never any comments.
What some killers forget is that there playing style ( no mather that its a tactic that you can use) is setting the mood for other games these survivors are playing. And i dont care to win or loose, my goal is good bloodpoints for all and a fun game.
-
@Moundshroud said:
How are old are you? Seriously? I'm not trying to make you feel bad; you joined this thread. Or did you forget that. This game has people who try to kill and try to survive. It is right there in their role names. That is the ONLY game, i.e. the objective. If you give up, like a little coward, every time things don't go your way, you are rewarding the KILLER. What do you not get about that? So even if we use your insane logic and say the Killer is at fault, why are you punishing the other Survivors? :)
If I am the Killer, I'm going to kill you. I will use whatever legal tactic the game allows if a specific match calls for it. By definition, if it is legal, valid strategy, it is playing fair. So far, YOU are the only person advocating a behavior which violates the agreement we all make to come play. Disconnecting is a ban-worthy offense. Suicide on the hook is legal and valid, but it is also the selfish, coward's way out. I agree you CAN make that choice. Just don't try to pretend it is anything OTHER than what it is...
you keep trying to make it about how you screw your team....there is no screwing from our part when a killer is not letting anyone play the game. and yes, you are trying to make this about how a survivor should feel if he does that. Point is, we are never gonna agree, and lots of survivors are doing excactly the one thing that they can do when they play a game that is not there for there fun.
a good killer should know that he can make or break a game for all players, and that were the problems start....killers who just dont care if we all have fun, a good chase, maybe some gens and totems....then we love to die screaming.
i guess we are both missing the point here, a good game is a good game and there would not be a reason to leave or quit, but we are talking about the games that are just not fun for survivors ALL OF THEM, and only fun for a killer....or fun? I cant understand what the fun is in playing like that...
But behaviour in all sorts for killers is good and even protected by devs and mod's....but when a survivor does the one thing he can do to not make this game more misserable for himself then he is a cowward who screws his team....go figure

It is the Killer's job to kill you. No one is responsible for your "fun" but you. If you don't enjoy the game, find another. If you Que to play Survivor you are telling the other Survivors you are there to play and back them up. When you fail in this, it is THEM you let down. The Killer doesn't care; you made his/her life easier. You are rewarding the Killer (whom you inaccurately blame for your OWN problems). Own your failures. You are never going to get any better at the game with your attitude. Blaming others for your own personal failures is the worst way to approach anything.
thats another mistake your making, yes it can be the killers job to kill you, but you dont have to...its all choice. I'm not saying that all killers should stop killing but it remains a choice, and for what its worth...there is a differnce between playing a killer or just destroy the entire purpose of a game by making sure that except for the killer....no one gets to do anything...and you can continue with your trying to get under my skin and make me feel bad about my choise on how i choose to play or not play this game....save it for some one who gives a rats ass. If you cants agree on the fact that the problem starts with the killer who just doesn't care for a fun game for all, then there is no getting trough to you....if you as a killer playes a fair and fun game and kills me in the end..no problemo, but downing all survivors within the first few min, is not a game that we play. No mather how much you dislike it!!
-

You are precisely the problem. If you don't want to play the game, find another one. Why don't you realize that you are screwing over the other Survivors every time you do this. If you start a game, finish it.
your right, i'm the problem and should listen to you and stop playing the game....its not the killer who decided to make this game ######### for all other players....a bit the same as a friend of you comes up with a black eye and wants you to punish the guy who gave him that black eye, but then you find out your friend punched this guy first....clearly a case for you were your friend with the black eye is the good guy. and stop playing the your screwing your team card, i dont do social pressure....your not doing it for your self but for others crap. go to the source not the outcome!!
-
You could ask yourself this....whats more toxic...this game and his players or the people who defend there actions. But lets brake it down, the discussion is clearly about the actions players make, so where does it start. Does a gamer enter a game with the thought to kill himself on the first hook he gets to see? nope, or does a player starts up a game just to dc as soon as he has the chance? So why does it happen? Well lets take a close look to most games we are playing...as a survivor 80% of your games will be against killers who absolutly ruin this game, slaughter whole teams before they can even do anything, in other words a waste of time and a waste of your ranking progress. But how comes that other players complain about this and think they have the right to decide how you as a player use the product that you paid for? I dont mind having these games, i just leave, on the hook or with a ban, clearly the killer has chosen to make this game suck for al other players involved ( talking about destroying the game for other witch is the main comment of most here when you do it as a survivor) Even as a killer you will be matched up against many players that you wont catch or see, also a reason to dc for some sinds the killer cannot suicide himself on the hook. Maybe we should all stop bitching about who is right or wrong, its a killer and a survivors choice on how he or she wants to play or not play his or hers game. My experience as a survivor...all games i died on the hook ended fast and just as i saw coming, so there is never harm done to other players be me quiting the game, but only by the player that was the reason why i just died on the hook.
stop bitching or start punishing both party's involved, but thats not the case so just stop bitching
-
its funny to see how much the " your screwing your team " card is played....social pressure....yeah right, thats the great part of spectating a game when you left....doesn't take that long mostly, and always a killer who is just out there to make the game as fun as he can.....survivors leaving with 3 to 8000 bloodpoints, level down or a drop gone....best to control this yourself so there is no one else to blame but yourself...
-
there is always 2 sides to a story, we dont quit because we dont want to play, we quit cause we see were its going, and 10 out of the 10 times its a game where killer is out for a slaughter instead of having a fun game for all.....and for punishing this in the game by dev's hmmm they really should if they want less and less people to keep playing this game.
-
i kill myself on the hook more times then i want to. Why? simply because you can easily tell what kind of game your playing.
Is it a game that a real killer is out there to make the game fun, then your teammates or you are not gonna be downed within the first 10 sec off the game, or hanging in the basement...and i mean multiple teammates
so when a game starts with a killer who downs 2 or 3 teammates before a single gen has been touched....you know your match-up is there to piss you off...so why should i waste my time on this game? And the argument of screwing your teammates doesn't fly here...thank god for spectating...all my games i left all ended in what i saw coming, a game based on the fun for the killer and not letting survivors play the game. so who is really destroying the game then? Good thing to see that lots of survivors follow eachother and leave to.....when i see another dc or kill themself, i know the game that is coming, and i would rather thank another survivor for pointing out what i'm just about to find out for myself.
-
things that make you go hmmmm part 2.....
last day or 2, 8 out of the 10 games were against rank 20 killers.....and all these games the killers slaughterd the entire team before a single gen was fixed.....yep i suck from time to time, but teams of survivors from rank 7 to rank 18 went down like it was nothing. Most of these games went the excact same way....no hooking just slashing until the last survivor was down. It didn't even mather if you would hide cause these super focused killers knew excactly where you was hiding....for any one who started this game as a killer would know that this is impossible. You would be lucky to even find one survivor sinds you need to get used to everything. A big thing that makes you go hmmmm i would say.
-
well letts hope that some killers who read this can make the games as much fun as the comments...its been said many times by many survivors we dont care if we die in the end, but there's playing a nice game and there's playing against complete idiots...and lately all my match ups are against the last of the two....i even let every survivor escape when i play a killer in the hope i can give a few a normal game.
