It just makes it harder to get value from your perks and punishes survivors for getting to endgame so baby killers can have an easier time tunneling someone out. Why not disable every survivor perk during endgame? Hell let's disable exhaustion perks too.
Killers may as well go afk after the exit gates are powered with some of these perks. They make it impossible to kill anyone. These are good changes.

I've never had such a strong feeling that a patch destroyed the balance like this time, and i have seen the Undying/Ruin meta and the old Boon meta. I was really happy about the changes but my deepest fears became reality:
- - doing gens has become nearly impossible with the new killer meta (Jolt, Thana, Overcharge, Pain Res, any combination of that)
- - the endurance meta is not even that strong, especially since DH and DS is dead now. Killers have enough time to chase through the extra hit
Here is how my ~15 games went (on both sides)
- survs start gens
- killer gets first down
- gens come to a halt thanks to strong perks and killers, if best they/we finished 2
- no one even attempts to do gens anymore, because the killer usually has so much pressure that it's impossible
Yes i'm not exaggerating. I won most of my matches as Killer before the patch but never THAT hard (there wasn't a single game today were the survivors made more than 2 gens, and yes i tryharded but many killers will do). I haven't escaped in any of my survivor matches. Yes, not a single one. And most of them weren't even close, most were just stompings (by killers like Legion or Freddy).
Why do you want to hand ez 4k's to every single killer out there? What is the idea behind it? Killer was the harder role yes, but it was an achivement to become a good killer who can win against good teams. Now it's just "take those perks, then chase mindlessly, tactics, strategy? you don't need that here, just run behind that guy there"...
Anyone i've spoken to sees it like that even the killer mains. If you don't react now, you will lose a lot of the playerbase...
Your MMR is still propped up thanks to your reliance on Dead Hard. Dead Hard was, and still is, an extra health state that regenerates over time automatically. Dead hard was, and still is, the best perk in the game, however it now requires much more skill to use.
After you lose a few more games, your MMR should be adjusted appropriately to your skill level. You will start escaping more often when you are matched with killers who better match your skill level.

I've seen it work in high mmr, nobody expects it so it catches them off guard with the smol terror radius
He has a 32 meter terror radius. That's as big as it gets. Now I know you're making things up

The lullaby doesn't mean you can't sneak up on people
Sure, they know you're in the area, but not your exact position, I've had success with monitor on her
against low MMR survivors, sure
-
- He doesn't have to reload at lockers
- On a successful hit after harpooning he places a mend effect on the survivor.
- The harpoon travels faster and has less drop off than the hatchet
- He doesn't have a lullaby, so you can use perks to sneak up on people
In exchange for all of this, he moves a bit slower.
Try using some perks that remove his terror radius, then sneak up on people. After you sneak up on them, M1 them and then shoot them as they run away. It's an easy/quick down. This does not work on huntress because of the lullaby.

Um, all of those are things I consider fun and increase my enjoyment of the game? Except the flashlight macros. I like when my opponents aren't potatoes and they are creative in ways I don't expect. I like when they use teamwork and outplay me. It gets boring to do the same mindgame over and over again, bait out the badly aimed dead hard to nowhere, and get an easy down.
But nice just assuming that because I like the game to be challenging and that I don't mind losing that must mean I play at low MMR. Also, even if I were, would that really invalidate my opinion? I said I don't really care if survivors do generators really fast. I just like to be in chases. If I'm getting matched with people way above my skill level to the point where it's frustrating, then I hit next game and let the matchmaking put me against someone new.
When the survivors are good (high MMR) playing killer is annoying even if you kill all of them.
-
Wow, I guess they are waiting for a wrongful death lawsuit?

Chasing requires skill. Camping does not. If you get the same result from both of these, what do you think players will do?
Chasing is fun for both sides and is the most fun part of the game. Camping forces one survivor to be the designated loser while the others sit on generators. It is not fun for survivors.
This "they won't need to camp you" isn't going to stop someone from camping you because you didn't actually make it less rewarding. Survivors shouldn't have to only get a fulfilling game by the kindness of the killer's heart. If you haven't noticed, many of the people who play killer on this forum seem to believe that they are in the power role and so the game should automatically be won for them and that if we don't acquiesce to every silly demand they have, they will be "forced" to tunnel and camp.
They were going to tunnel and camp anyway because all they really cared about is winning and camping is still incredibly strong and gets you a lot of wins.
If you want to win, you should outplay your opponent and demonstrate some skill. Chasing demonstrates skill. Learning how to use a killer power in chase demonstrates skill. Macro decisions about who to chase and where demonstrate skill. Standing in front of a hooked survivor close enough that you can kiss them does not demonstrate skill. That last one is about as powerful as the previous ones and that's the problem.
"The camping will continue until my kill rate improves."
As a killer main who doesn't camp but gets camped very often when playing as survivor, I'd like that meta to shift. I'd like the game to not be complete ######### half the time based on the whims of the killer. Some games I get are really fun and fulfilling, but only if the killer specifically decides that game will be fun for me. When I play killer, there's really nothing the survivors can do to change the enjoyment of the game for me. Even if they do generators really quickly, I still get to chase and have fun in chases.
"there's really nothing the survivors can do to change the enjoyment of the game for me"
You must play low MMR. In high MMR people do stuff like this:
- Throw pallets and spend a few seconds healing in front of each pallet, until they completely heal a health state. After you finally hit them again, they syringe and heal during chase.
- Perfectly Dead Hard every. single. time. Faking out rarely works for whatever reason.
- Everyone takes protection hits for each other making downs exceptionally difficult.
- Everyone has the magical ability to know what everyone else is doing at all times and where they are located. (Discord, the Fifth Perk Slot)
- Chases always take a minimum of Forever because no one makes mistakes.
- People using macros that flashes the flashlight 9999999 times per second, which could give you seizures if you are photosensitive.

Borrowed time helps with tunneling, it doesn't make camping any harder
killer can still very much trade the hooked guy for the unhooker, or get multiple downs. As long as they have someone on the hook they win bc the others won't have time to do the gens
This only happens if you have one person to unhook. If you have at least two people unhooking, it's nearly impossible for the camper to down the unhooker. One player takes a hit and zips away, while the other unhooks. The killer's recovery animation is too long to grab during this time and at most he may get two hits, but he won't get a down.
-
If you make the game more rewarding when you don't camp, people will camp less. They are decreasing chase times, so you will likely see less camping. Because they won't need to camp you.
-
Because new players will have access to Bubba and know that his perk is good for grinding blood points. They lowered the grind by 75%. What are you talking about??
-
Did everyone read the same notes? Everyone gets baseline borrowed time. They nerfed camping. What are you talking about??
-
My thoughts exactly. Ruin will not be used by anyone. That just looks useless. A perk that gives normal regression that also gets cleansed within the first 20 to 60 seconds of the game starting. No thank you!
Everyone will use gen kicking perks now.
Maybe if Hex totems were blocked for the first two minutes of the game starting then it would be worth taking, but only on killers that have high map presence, which would allow them to capitalize on ruins effects.

"Strategies like tunneling & camping often go overlooked."
People complain about these 2 so much I'm tired of hearing about it, I really don't know how you got that impression.
Both are strategies, but both also hurt the games health. It's not the players fault, its the devs for designing the game this way and leaving it alone for so long.
Camping works often enough and tunneling is the most efficient way to play the game, don't blame the players for trying to win.
"It's not the player's fault, it's the devs for designing the game this way and leaving it alone for so long."
Yup, that's most things in this game. There's certain builds that just force you to tunnel/camp. DS forces you to leave people on the ground and camp them until it runs out. That's not fun for anyone involved. It's especially juicy though when you down them near a gen that was near completion. Then you can patrol their body and the gen at the same time. Not fun for the survivor I imagine. Getting left on the ground for several minutes can't ever be fun. I think that would be painfully obvious, but apparently not!

It's absolutely busted perk with right team and build.
Me and my SWF made many killers furious with it.
A lot of killers don't know how to play around it, so it's easy to abuse it.
It's completely useless perk in solo Q tho
As a killer, I love seeing people with No Mither. Free infinite exposed survivor all game. Juicy free kill for me. Not sure what Behavior thinks they are doing, but that could be said for most of the things they stuff into DBD

my only solution is to really *corn*centrate
that last one was really bad im sorry
....something about a crop top
Cool dad jokes, but they are the least popular set of maps based on what people voted. It's great having such transparent devs, but I hope they actually do something with that data the community gave them.
A handful of survivors saying they like the map doesn't really change the fact that most people did not vote for these maps.

@jesterkind said:
They're really not bad.
You can still see scratch marks pretty consistently through the corn, so I just pay attention to that if I have to chase through the corn itself.
Yes you can see scratch marks in between the corn. Can't really see anything other than corn and brightly glowing scratch marks. Why did all of the corn maps have some of the lowest picks in their recent poll?

Nah, the main thing is that it shouldn't give the effect of like 3 perks at once: Self-Care, An invisible extra medkit you can dual-wield with an actual medkit, and it applies to the whole team. It should do like... one of those, and ideally just giving a non-medkit bonus to heal speeds to the team.
Right, it gives self care to everyone, allows you to stack the 75% heal with other healing sources like medkits and/or perks.
The self care is what really gives value though. For two reasons.
- The survivor doesn’t need to spend time looking for a survivor to heal. They see the boon aura, so they go there.
- When one survivor heals another survivor they are both using time. So a 16 second altruistic heal uses 32 seconds between the two survivors. With CoH, it only requires 10 seconds total from the survivor to heal themselves and can be used multiple times.
The best way to balance this, is to give survivors “Boon Tokens”. They get one token per boon perk equipped. If you only have CoH equipped, then you can only bless one boon. If you have four boon perks, then you can bless four times.
Perhaps they can get an extra token by cleansing a totem.
-
If you add more perks that punish camping and tunneling (the only real strategy against some builds) you will just see an even longer survivor que with less killers playing.
I doubt Behavior actually wants to kill their game.

You're so right! Camping and tunnelling was unheard of before Circle of Healing was introduced! It was all because of that one Boon. Killers would never do that normally. /s
Read the title.
No where did I say, “Camping and tunneling exist because of CoH”.

They had weapons in Deathgarden. Another DBD like game made by Behavior Interactive. It failed spectacularly and they had to shut down the game.
They will only add weapons to DBD if they want to kill it.

They responded to a question about cheaters in their latest Q&A
https://youtu.be/wIocxDbQ-9g?t=2473
Here's a timestamp for you
Well it’s good that they say they are doing something, but that’s really strange because I keep getting cheaters in my games. Blatent cheating, like insta heals, not being effected by the doctors madness. They even instant healed my wife after the killer hit her. So it seems like they can effect other players as well.
-
The real counter is to stop queuing as killer until survivor ques become 2 hours long
-
Slugging isn’t an option against SWF. Knockout is worthless against them as well unless you camp the body.
And you don’t really get to know/choose if you are placed in to a SWF group.

You can't be simultaneously slugging and having survivors bleed out every match you play until BO is fixed, while also refusing to play dude 🤔 atleast stick to a story, it's the exact same group of people that read all the forum posts lol
It's broken. I'm not playing until they fix it. Easy as that. There's thousands of other games out there. If DBD wants to stay relevant the first thing they need to do is not poop on killers when there's already a low number of them.
Survivor ques are already sometimes 20 minutes. That's pretty near being a dead game.

What? I decided I'm not playing this game until they fix the issue. I'm surprised they aren't getting a mass exoduses of killers with something as annoying as this.
-
if they took a hit they would use the speed burst to run to the main building. It’s pretty simple to do. You can still do gens!
Good luck finding games! Idk why any killers would play this.
-
I'm just not playing until they fix it. If enough killers stop playing, then no survivors get to play either.
-
I actually just stopped playing. Playing cyberpunk instead. Have fun with your dead game.
-
Just camp anyone who uses the perk until they bleed out. They will have a very boring game, and maybe behavior will realize they have no idea what they are doing and revert it.

They literally have no f ing idea what they are doing.

Hacking the game must also not be cheating. You can get the same advantages a SWF group would give you.

Killers can win by playing like an absolute scumbag. Problem is, do we really want Killers to have to play that way to win? No, it would be better if they made the game harder for Survivors, but in exchange, added some built-in anti-tunneling or anti-camping. This way, both sides have more fun, Killers wouldn't have to tunnel or camp the hell out of people to win, and at the same time they don't get genrushed to hell for trying to play nice, which is generally what happens when Killers play nice.
I personally don't enjoy playing like a scumbag when I'm Killer but I often have to do it because it's the only way to beat good SWF parties.
I watch my wife when she plays killer and I give her pointers. The first time she got a kill (and she got two of them) was when I told her to camp at the end with NOED. She was bullied hard all game but then face camped at the end and secured two kills. Both of which were her first kills.
She felt bad about it because she doesn't like being camped when she is survivor. But that's literally the only way. She had only played three games and the "mAtChMaKiNg" was giving her a bunch of tier 1 iridescent SWF groups.
Cool game.

Can confirm. Some maps it's possible to abuse it to become 100% unhookable. Not sure how this made it live, let alone hasn't been turned off yet. Not sure what's going on but I think they are trying to kill DBD like Deathgarden. They aren't good at making video games, they just got lucky.
