  • @Luigifan That sounds like a cool idea to me. I would like that a lot better than what it is now.

  • Nurse, Pig, and Clown really need some love.

  • @NuclearBurrito The reason I listed the other perks that have nothing to do with Distortion is to point out how many opportunities that killers have to see survivors and WHY Distortion needs a rework.

I forgot about Calm Spirit. But yeah, there should be more perks like that. I said it already in my posts above, but multiple perks that block a single aura reading perk.

I know there are some counters to Hex perks (like destroying the totem) but sometimes the totems are impossible to find (which they should be hard to find 50/50) and then other times the killer is guarding them or hooks a survivor next to them.

I never implied anyone was helpless. I was pointing out all the reasons I think Distortion should be reworked. The aura reading perks/add-ons, but also the one-hit down abilities/add-ons/moris wouldn't be so bad to endure if you weren't able to be seen/found in so many different ways.

Edit: And hell, maybe it would help with putting a dent in the number of DCs. xD

  • The slow recharge would be better than what it is now. That way Distortion isn't burned in the beginning of the game because you might not have noticed it was getting used up in time or whatever. I still like the idea I mentioned about it being broken up into multiple perks that block only one aura reading perk. It would make it so survivors could change up their builds and if a certain perk was annoying them they could block it for a while without canceling out every single other aura reading perk.

I'm editing to clarify: Distortion would be broken up into multiple perks, each blocking only one aura perk. If that makes sense.

  • @Boss They don't count matches with DCs in the statistics. lol So, I'm sure that's inaccurate.

@Nuclear The first perks you mention don't reveal your aura but they reveal where you are. Discordance reveals where more than one survivor is, increasing the chances of catching someone, so it in it's own right is amazing for killers.

Whether the exposed perks are triggered by an action it doesn't change the fact that the survivor or survivors in some cases are still exposed.

And me attempting to counter with Dead Hard, thanks for disproving it doesn't, I guess? So, then there's no way to counter.

Hopping in a locker in time isn't always possible with BB&C. And with Nurses Calling you sometimes can't hear the terror radius or the killer doesn't have one so... saying not to heal is bad advice. Any survivor with brains wouldn't heal if they knew the killer was right there.

Working on gens together gets them done faster. Why wouldn't you do that unless you knew the killer was able to tell you were?

Sometimes crows are hard to see and sometimes the game glitches and they fly even if you are crouched. It would be insanely easy to catch in videos or see in streams.

But! After thinking about it I think Distortion being broken up into individual perks that counter individual perks is WAY better than it countering ALL aura perks (that would suck for killers). It would also break up survivor meta-perk builds if they wanted to avoid a certain perk like BB&C. It would also provide survivors that feel like certain perks are getting them killed an out for a while or forever if they wanted to use it all the time. So a perk to counter each aura perk would be best, not add-ons though since those aren't something you see every single game.

And I made some mistakes in my post. I am human. But I think it's easy to realize what I was getting at.

  • That's ridiculous. No single survivor deserves to die because their team sucked. Survivors are individuals, not a unit (though they can act like one but that changes nothing). And you can't adapt to some situations because they're basically impossible to overcome.

  • It's not an attempt to get free escapes. If anything the video proves killers get a free kill. EGC is not fine. That's why so many people are complaining about it. The timer is awesome. The idea behind it is great. But its flawed.

  • Whoa... I guess the forum wanted to post one of my prior posts a billion times. I swear I didn't do that. xD Can you delete posts?

  • End Game is rough on solo survivors or survivors trying to rescue people. And if you're chased as last survivor then kiss that win goodbye no matter how well you did: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JYW7xMyqHok&t=1s

  • Deleted since its identical to a prior post.

  • Deleted since its identical to a prior post.

  • @Pirscher In the video, which you clearly didn't watch, I did go straight to a gate. Since you missed it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JYW7xMyqHok&t=1s

  • I call bull on that. You've survived every time you were last survivor? The gates must have been on opposite sides of the map every time or the killers were incompetent. And I had ONE chance and that was to get a gate because the hatch was immediately closed. I got away from the killer when he came. He just had to go between gates to get me, which he clearly did in that video. How is that fair? It's not.

  • End Game needs some changes. There's no way to open a door if you've been seen by a killer and manage to get away because there's simply not enough time. How is it fair that I can escape the killer but am forced to continue to go to the gate already started because it's certain death if I don't... not that it wasn't certain death anyway....

    https://youtu.be/JYW7xMyqHok

  • Anyway, here's the video again since I did remove it from above. Don't mention the DC's... they don't matter because this is about last survivor and standing no chance in this situation. There was no time to go to the other gate. And saying I was only a second off from getting the gate open is bogus. I played the best I could in the moment to survive. In retrospect you can tear anything apart. In the moment, it's a different story.

    https://youtu.be/JYW7xMyqHok

  • And it doesn't matter if the other players DC'd. This is about 1v1, the last survivor, so them DCing changes nothing.

  • Wow. You guys will make an excuse for everything. I didn't linger on the gen (I'll re-upload the vid when I edit the names out because I realize it showed them at the end) and the hatch closed when I was on my way to a gate (I wasn't sure which to go to because I didn't know where the killer/hatch was) and I went straight to it the moment End Game started. I had no chance because the killer was too fast and could go from one gate to the next easily because they were close together. It was an impossible escape.

  • I have a video to share when I can figure out how to do it.

Here's the link to the video: https://youtu.be/JYW7xMyqHok

I removed it to block names because I don't want anyone being hated on. Also, I was told to adapt and asked how I should have adapted in this situation.

  • You can't loop a killer once its found you opening a gate. There won't be enough time to finish powering the gate because you'll have used it up running from and losing the killer, assuming you could even lose them.

  • The survivor does not have all the power just because they're last. The survivor can be just as clueless about the hatch or whether the killer has found it or not, too. Your example proves nothing. At best if the survivor knows where the hatch is and camps it and the killer doesn't then they escape but if you flip it the killer can also camp the hatch. Most survivors will always go for the hatch, especially if there are gens left (entity should not block gens in scenario where hatch can't be closed). If a gen must be finished and the survivor tries to do it and completes it the killer knows where they are. If hatch opens then it'll be like before End Game but the timer remains which eliminated the one thing everyone hated... stand-offs.

  • It should be hard to get the escape but not impossible. In many situations after the hatch is closed it becomes impossible due to killer speed and proximity of the gates. A survivor could have earned the escape but is screwed out of potential victory because they literally have no way to get the gates open before being discovered or time runs out.

EDIT: Before anyone says it.. I'm not saying it's always like this but in far too many cases it is. Hence why people are even complaining about gates.

  • @ReikoMori So... what exactly is going to be different next month about End Game? lol And I'm not the only one calling for a rework. Tons of people don't like the way it is. There are dozens of posts.

@KingB I did say that, yes, and I'm aware you don't need a key. I don't even know why you feel the need to say that because I never said anything remotely like you need a key to open it (unless its been shut). I know and I think everyone whose played one game knows that it opens automatically. And I don't think it should be auto-lose because you didn't find it first... for killer or survivor. Hence why I said let killers be able to pull people out of hatch and keep the timer AND make it so it can't be shut. That way both sides have a fair chance at the win.

  • They get so many chances because it's so hard for them to escape. Now as last survivor its been made nearly impossible in some situations.

  • @fluffybunny The fact that they just killed the 3 other survivors and now have a chance at the 4th shows that they are, indeed, the power role and in no way is the survivor guaranteed the escape just because the hatch can't be closed. And it's not "more than enough chance" but it is more and that's fair in comparison to what it is now. Killers still caught and killed the last survivor in the past before End Game and complained about the stand-off which the timer eliminates.

And who says you're not supposed to be alone in a 1v1. That's the definition of 1v1 and some survivors worked their A off to get there. Yes, I'm aware some probably didn't but those won't pip. And it would still be very hard to escape with the hatch remaining open.

  • That and one survivor will either attempt a gen or try to get the other killed. I've seen it plenty of times. Unfortunately, the one actually trying to do gens will probably be the one to die.

  • I realize I didn't address if there are two survivors doing the stand-off, so sorry, but iron maiden exists now to help with locker hoppers.

  • @FSB75 I can agree with that. But the timer would eliminate any sort of standoff since if there was one the survivor will die by entity.

  • @TAG We're literally about to repeat ourselves and I'd rather not re-type what I've already said.

  • @TAG I never said that it didn't apply to survivors. Yes, they could jump in if they have a decent head-start or the killer has no idea where the hatch is. If it comes down to it the killers closing animation is faster than survivors jump animation. That's been proven.

  • Killers aren't limited in any way when it comes to patrolling. It does come down to game play. A lot of killers in higher ranks are very thorough when searching around gens or in areas where they may have lost sight of a survivor or thought they saw one in. you saying that survivors are free roam is silly in comparison since survivors are trying to get gens done as much as killers are trying to stop them. Your logic would suggest that survivors would go nowhere else but to gens in that case, just as killers walk straight lines to them apparently. -sarcasm-

  • If they don't think they can finish the gens and have a key or don't care about each other at all then sure... they could look for the hatch. That doesn't mean they'll find it and if they do it doesn't mean the killer still won't reach it and close it before they jump in.

  • It's funny watching killer mains be on the other side of the spectrum, where they believed survivor mains to be with hatch standoffs, and see them defending it so hard.

  • If the killer gets to he hatch before the survivor it's basically a free kill unless in the rare chance the gates are on opposite sides of the map.

  • The survivor isn't going to patrol for the hatch if another survivor is still alive unless they're selfish and think they can get it before the other. Most survivors aren't and will continue to work on gens which leaves them static. You said it yourself... the killer is going to patrol which gives them a greater chance of viewing the surrounding areas (not even including when chasing) and seeing the hatch.

  • It's not really a loss if you stood no chance to begin with and in some cases survivors stand no chance. If a killer shuts the hatch and the map is small or gates too close together... the killer is the one getting the free kill, the free win, and in some cases doesn't have to do anything but stand there and watch gate lights since they're usually within sight of each other.

  • @KingB You're post assumes that all survivors are carrying keys and can open the hatch or that the killer isn't going to close it. It is one-sided for the SOLO survivor remaining. Not the team. Teams can still dominate with the End Game. We're not talking about teams though. We're talking about the hatch and how closing it basically sentences the last survivor to death.

  • @TAG Whatever you say. We're just going to have to agree to disagree at this point.

  • @FSB75 I don't know why you're confused. We were talking about WHEN the killer has seen the hatch how that gives him a slight advantage due to speed and the way the game progresses (such as slow death animation and other factors), and how the killer has more of a chance of seeing the hatch WHEN it becomes visible due to the fact they are more likely to move around more of the map since they chase survivors and patrol gens/totems. Yes, survivors have that chance to but its not as great and just because one survivor sees the hatch that doesn't mean they all do.

  • It's not a free escape because there would still be a timer. I can't make it any more Barney style than that.

  • When I'm playing killer, emphasis on the I, I usually see the hatch... obviously when it has become visible, while chasing someone. Usually because one of the two remaining survivors (in the scenario I'm giving now) is trying to camp it in hopes of getting it before me or because we coincidentally stumbled upon it during our go round around the entire, or half of, the map.

  • @TAG I'll try to be as literal as possible but you know I'm just a player... like you... that doesn't have access to data. You don't know if anything is true or not just as much as I don't. It's safe to assume that everything I say is based off MY experiences, just as everything you say is based off yours.

  • @TAG That is a reasonable assumption that the killer didn't see the hatch because he's too focused on his objectives. Yes, there's a chance the killer didn't see it because they didn't run in that location, too. You're really looking for a fight, aren't you? So angry.

  • @TAG Uh... the fact that the killer didn't see the hatch.

  • @thekiller490490 What I suggested would still make a survivor incredibly lucky to escape.

  • If you don't see the hatch when you're playing killer then you're way too focused on the people you're chasing. If killers finding the hatch first and closing it wasn't a problem then we wouldn't have the countless posts about broken End Game right now.

  • Obviously. That's why I said in a prior post that devs should share data on it.

  • Well, I have several maxed killers that I play every day with wraith and spirit being my favs (I also play survivor every day). If I didn't find the hatch first then the survivor jumped through it. In the majority of my matches I find the hatch first unless its a huge map and I didn't know where it is (usually I stumble upon it). If its a small map like swamp I know I'm going to destroy the team. In the streams I've watched... killers are finding the hatches before the third person is killed and know where it is. If there's a standoff in my match its because I found the hatch and stood there until the survivor just gave up waiting for me to leave and revealed themselves.

But you go ahead and remain unconvinced. The fact that people who play killers are shooting this down simply because they can't shut the hatch even though the timer would remain and promise them a kill shows its not about hatch standoffs at all. It's about that win and getting a 4k. So who's really entitled?
