Gen speed is not a problem. Survivor efficiency is the real problem.
If good survivors last long (I'd say 1 minute at least) and go away from gen that teammates are repairing, killer cannot control both hook and generator at the same time which leads to killers being pressured. (Ironically this is the main reason why tunneling is necessary against good survivors.)
Remember that survivors don't need to repair more than 5 generators. As long as survivors didn't 3 gen until middle game and let killers come into the area where no teammates are, survivors can stick to gen.
Not all games are shockingly coordinated as comp games but you will see how crazy survivor efficiency is if you watch some of those games.
Unless the killer is top tier killer, all gens pop before 7 minutes. Even 6 minutes is possible.
The thing is most people don't have to know/do/think many elements as comp players but normal games can also be pretty wild if survivors focus on generators mainly and waste killer's time long in good positions. Of course, the problem is how solo queue lack information compared to SWF and garbage matchmaking.
-
You can put any killer related things in 'current killer meta' in the title.
Even Trapper or Pig. Because solo queue is so garbage.
But I don't think those deserve nerf because of it besides Blight to be honest.
-
remove skill check
seal killer's power for 10 seconds
-
No.
-
I am worried both Hafts will be removed.
-
I agree with you.
If this turns out to be another gift for 'bad' survivors then I will neglect playing weak killers then.
It's getting annoying to solve everything with basekit changes.
Especially to feed bad players rather than finding better solution.
-
Sorry to hear that.
Hiding in lockers or elsewhere while killer is looking for you is still helping teammates because it wastes killer's time.
Just don't try to think about it. If those players you witnessed were actually smart, they won't be blaming others for that.
-
It won't be an easy fix because tunneling is the easiest and safest tool left to win nowadays.
-
Yeah. It was stupid Alien DLC (2 characters, 1 outfit) price was same as Tools of Torment DLC (3 characters).
DLC price shouldn't be expensive because of including unnecessary stuff.
-
I can't erase to think many concerns around him (during PTB) including content creators worsened his position.
-
He feels like he lost many reasons why some players played him.
Throw rate nerf is huge, nearly close to thinking he got heavily nerfed. Main Event doesn't feel good because of this too.
Laceration decay is very penalizing. Like I understand him having 4.6m/s in exchange but this completely turns him into below average M1 killer whose power isn't good at downing.
Overall, massive failure.
If you think he got buffed in crazy amount, play him by yourself I'd recommend.
He will never be better than Huntress in any aspects sadly.
-
Even Freddy isn't in there. I hope there will be more updates including new roadmap.
-
I am expecting she will be in current Freddy state with update.
-
8th generator
Repair bonus on generators which are close
Repair bonus by 3/6/9% for each sacrificed survivor
Relocation of certain generators
I hope this doesn't feed bad survivors.
-
Terrible. It is not a strong effect to be Hex. It shouldn't be Hex perk and have cooldown instead.
Okay but won't be meta. 20 sec Exposed is very short if survivors keep distance. Aura reveal is okay.
Purely bad. Too situational and killer shouldn't chase survivors going to completed gen as possible.
-
Overrated. I'd rather use Nurse's or Infectious.
If you want to secure gen, then equip Thrilling or BBQ.
-
Excited but won't play him from the release. Recent killers have been getting weird treatments.
-
There was no reason to not tunnel in DbD ever anyway.
Tunneling won't get changed and will become more prevalent.
-
I don't think the buff will be enough for it to be decent.
The number is so low that it feels like worse version of Dying Light.
-
Troubleshooter, Circle of Healing
I don't know if Off the Record is meta or not but also that.
For killers, Enduring and Superior Anatomy.
-
Starting to wonder if preventing Blight to look down during Rush is complicated.
-
I don't want to play against very inexperienced killers or survivors when I play survivor/killer.
Like who don't even have their own characters tier 3 perks, don't know how to run/chase, miss scratch marks in certain maps often, don't try to look behind while being chased etc.
I just feel bad for those counterparts who should have queued up with players who have equal experience.
It doesn't feel like I am playing game when you certainly know counterparts skill perfomance is awful and matchmaking did something wrong.
Those who like going against players whose game knowledge is considerably low, I have no idea what to say.
Matchmaking shouldn't be bipolar and help players who are in same level get queued together even if it can't always be correct.
I think MMR softcap adjustment is good.
Also playing killers in high MMR will be more tough for sure. Without tunneling, playing strong killers, killer sided map or bad counterpart players.
Losing could mean the killer wasn't playing well. But it will also imply what balance issues this game got. (disparity between killers, maps, perks etc)
This is what BHVR should focus in my opinion.
-
Those killers should equip Mindbreaker and block exhaustion reset if they really hate it.
Anyway I don't think there are any problematic perks besides current MFT and BuckleUp (with FTP in SWF).
-
Twins, Deathsligner both from 2020
-
Far from balanced.
-
125% is still a joke. I haven't seen anyone using Call of Brine which is now 125% after nerf.
I think Ruin deserves at least 150% speed.
-
Ceno - basekit slowdown from cube, slow movement/vault while possessed by chains
Demo - very oppressive in straight loops
Wraith - one of the best stealth killers with mobility, Sloppy suits him very well, green & purple add-ons make him very powerful
-
I hope Freddy and Blight are on next list.
-
Not always but more effective when killer can get rid of someone quickly ASAP.
-
Wraith & Blight. I just don't think other killers have many decent add-ons like them.
Silent bell, Shadow Dance, Windstorm, Swift Hunt, All-Seeing, even sloppy add-on are all useful.
Iri Tag, C33, Alc Ring, Blighted Crow/Rat, Ad Vial. Personally his fatigue decrease add-ons are also good.
People can say Hag or Doctor got well-balanced add-on pools but I don't think they outnumber those.
If I can include old killers add-ons, I would include Billy, Nurse, Spirit and Freddy's original ones.

Well, if you have skill, you don't have to tunnel
You just said why many killers tunnel by yourself.
Why shouldn’t killers tunnel if it doesn’t require much skill and have a chance of good outcome?
-
Both basekits are just rewarding bad players and make survivor efficiency more powerful.
I'd rather have basekit Kindred-like, showing all teammates aura for 7~10 seconds after someone got hooked.
-
I agree many perks should be buffed but BHVR's perk balancing is very awful.
Their perk buff directions are :
1)still no reason to use - Pharmacy, Calm Spirit, Hangman's trick, Territorial Imperative, anyone use these?
2)unnecessary (sometimes feel like nerf more than buff) - Wiretap, Blast Mine buff was questionable. Deja vu is just free repair bonus compared to Friendly Competition.
3)huge buff to the degree of making killer side more miserable - Look at how Buckleup and BG Player became.
I'd rather prefer powerful perks nerf first.
-
Imo it is a strong perk but don't know if it's overpowered.
You can say it's overpowered on strong killers but that's a matter of strong killers not the perk itself.
Also the perk is the only counter to Distortion, that's what I thought since Alien PTB came out.
-
The perk deserved fat nerf.
Obsession only aura reading (every 30 seconds) should get tweaked so that player who isn't obsession can get value from it.
Also it should deactivate when someone dies or gets sacrificed because it is hindrance in 3~1v1 situation.
-
Scratch marks near stairs and doorway in indoor maps are so janky.
-
Terrible matchmaking system
-
Meg got 2 powerful and 1 decent perks but I'd recommend Dwight first to new players.
Bond is very good for solo survivors to decide what to do reading teammates auras.
-
Many people who say not to use STB on those killers are like "git gud like me".
Looking for proper timing to use M2 is important but it's players favor to use STB or not eventually.
-
No idea why it is "block" instead of "mute" to be honest.
-
Don't understand why Buckle up doesn't have either cooldown(Soul Guard) or specific requirement(WGLF).
-
Can be pain unless you equipped Infectious or Lightborn.
Personally I think the main problem is not the perk itself but blind saves are much easier than before.
-
Playing for win or fair for both doesn't matter because it's eventually people's decision.
But it just sucks when you start to wonder if maps were better in balance wise, many killers were decent individually. And less BM in inferior situations.
Of course, killers have to be good in chases, decide when to leave certain chases, patrol and pressure generators/healing. But it's frustrating when you want to pressure but you can't and feel powerless in your matches.
Not all games are frustrating or sweatfest and you might 3~4k often but you will remember bad games more than games you had successful results.
Anyway I respect for those who playing fair for both.
-
I think the main issue is killer cannot pressure many things as possible even if they want to.
Whether you enjoy chase or want to win, everything cannot go as you wish.
-
Skill Based MatchMaking (= solo survivor misery)
Map balance
SWF
Blight's add-ons
Map offerings
Nurse
'Stacked' BNP, Syringe & few survivor perks
Hatch
If you wonder about the order, most problematic to less problematic ones from my view.
-
1) Old prestige system was much better.
Teachable perks auto transfer in Lv 1~3 is good but there was no need to increase max prestige level to 100.
Max level being 3 was totally fine unless you are some prestige icon lover.
No mention to say, this caused lobby dodging because of prestige levels.
2) Purchasing either character or DLC (which includes character) should auto-transfer the characters' teachable perks to every character.
Considering new players, I think this is necessary and wouldn't mind if all general perks T3 are given from the start.
-
That's what happens when survivor's objective is generator only.
Unless all survivors (except the person who is getting chased) sit on multiple gens efficiently, you are not playing killer without any slowdown ability or very powerful chase ability, gens will pop quicker than you expect.
Which results stacked slowdown perks.
-
Nothing will be done eventually because DbD is SWF sided game.
Like your post, I wish certain add-ons like BNP, syringe, stypic to be only one usable in per match.
But people will repeat saying "It hurts solo" "How often do you encounter 4 BNP SWF" over and over again.
Not the best, Killer should know whether solo or SWF in lobby.
Survivors share loadouts in lobby. And most of all, better matchmaking.
-
The only killer who needs 3rd person view right now is probably Victor.
-
Perks should be decent but no need to be "busted".
