Oh boy. Yet another 'Please prevent Killers from winning in ways I don't enjoy' thread!

And what happens once 'tunneling' is removed/punished? Then it's 'camping'! Then 'slugging!' And then it's 'Killers are toxic for chasing me!' and then 'Killers are toxic for hitting me! New players will leave because being hit is unfun! Remove Killer's ability to hit people!' followed by 'Being put up on a hook is unfun, because I can't win if I get sacrificed! For the health of the game; remove hooks!'

No. Tunneling is how Killers remove a wounded person from the game. It's no different from Survivors slamming gens, and anyone who says different does not understand what 'playing optimally' is.

Yes. All 3 of those are cheating mechanisms that should have been addressed from Day 1 of this game. Survivors can't cheat. Survivors can't say... "The game isn't going my way, so I'm going to play like scum". The killers have admin privileges in these matches. Fact. The match goes as the killer plays. For the record, I am not talking about SWF matches... I don't hold any sympathy towards SWF survivors, although they make great you tube videos. If the game was fair, it would remove SWF and do something about Camping, Tunneling, and Slugging. The killers simply have too much power over another person's enjoyment of the game. One might say.. "If he camps, then other survivors would do other gens and he'd only get one kill". Sure... But the game was ass for that one survivor. Causing the rise of another toxic gamer who curses this game. The game should be fun for every survivor and the killer... I think the problem for Killer mains, seeing this problem... is that they see the match as 4 vs. 1. They see 4 survivors and think of them as one. As a solo-q survivor, its 1 on 1 experience. The personal interaction with the killers... or even the teammates... affects how the game is perceived by that player.

Anyways... the Devs have had 7 years to enforce rules into these matches... and they haven't come close. They are too busy thinking up new cosmetics and adding more characters, to actually sit down and think of a way to balance the game in such a way that it is fun for every single player.

  • I've had a post about this... A purposeful disconnect requires one to physically click a button. The devs should be able to easily track this. So, no, it would not be difficult for them to distinguish between a purposeful DC and an internet issue one. They are just to busy making new costumes and tweaking perks to deal with it.

  • lol @ complaining at 8 minute matches... Matches are designed to basically last 10 minutes max... 8 minutes is a good time for the match. Its not fast. Sounds pretty average. Games get quite stale if they last much longer.

  • My god... its like watching a political debate.. The republicans are wrong.. no the democrats are wrong.. those dems/reps always get favors... Jeez. The devs do not favor the survivors and MFT is not that strong. 3% is barely anything, but its fun as a survivor to think you are moving a bit faster. 10% with hope at end of game... well then they would have needed to have HOPE, which is 7% by itself... I think you'd be complaining about these survivors with HOPE, whether or not they had MFT.

Anyways, I know this is a one-sided thread and you won't like my input here. Feel free to ignore it, except for the fact that the devs don't favor survivors and this argument needs to stop. The devs make countless mistakes on both sides every time they do updates. This happens for both sides. Feel free to play another game, maybe that would show 'em.

  • Just saying... with the bots, most survivors would prefer that a suicidal teammate DC's, rather than kills themselves on hook. So, as long as bots are here... they should revisit the DC penalty discussion... they should be encouraging people to DC, rather than kill themselves on hook, now. So, they SHOULD remove the DC penalty.... for survivors. I think the bots are just for survivors... so if true, when/if Killer bots become a thing implemented, then the DC penalty should be removed from killers, as well.

Gates open, can't pick them up because of a guarenteed wiggle, can't leave them on the ground because they'll just crawl out. What do you propose he do?

That's called: "The survivor wins". Whatever happened to get the survivor in that state, was a gameplay, that left the survivor in a winning position. The killer simply doesn't deserve that kill and thus should not get it.

The adding time to aura reads part is OK, but the showing the survivors at the beginning of the match is such a HUGE advantage. Makes me feel like I'm cheating.

It is. I complain about it on everyone but Nemi. Just feels right for Nemi, cause its his perk... Anyways.. I've brought up this point before in this forum. I have no issue with the perk showing you where everyone is.. the issue is the time length. Because with the aura showing time, you not only know about where they are.. but you get to that area and the perk is still active and you can see the aura of the survivor who is hiding behind the rock, trying to avoid you because they heard your terror radius coming..

As suggested before, they should also let the survivors see the killers aura at the same time. Then the survivors would understand that you have LP and they can see you. Them understanding this is vital. If they know you have LP, then they won't try to hide, instead they will start running and start the chase off right... But right now, you have survivors hiding, trying to avoid a killer's sight which they normally would avoid... but because the killer has a cheat mechanic (aura reading) active, they see the survivors every move and go to them and get their first unearned hit... shortening the first chase by half.

So, the perk should either be changed to show everyone's aura for like 3 seconds to start the match, or the survivors get to see the killers aura for the entire time that the killer sees the survivors'.

  • Agreed. I'd be happy if they add a "continuous spend" option. I love the one-click web level done option... but... its still a chore. I'd prefer a one-click, "spend points until I have no more or until I say stop" option, that just keeps progressing each level by itself.

Either that, or you know... make it fun/enjoyable. It is a game, after all.

  • Immediately... because I looked at the killer. Therefore, it makes it more of a weakness, than a perk. No perk should have a weakness. Its a perk. I'm not sure what you are saying when you say every perk has weaknesses... I've never noticed such and can't think of any weaknesses to perks. Some require skill, some require a trade off... but none have weaknesses that I can think of. And by the way... the trade off to this perk is the survivor screaming. I have no issue with it, if I wanted to use the perk at that moment... but I do, if I'm not trying to use the perk.

There is no reason for this perk not to be an activated perk, instead of a "look this way" perk. Looking at the killer is not a "skill issue". What am I supposed to do, run blindly into the map, hoping i'm not being followed? That's a ridiculously toxic beginning to your reply. Please try and keep things to facts. No, its not a "skill" issue. its a "mechanic" issue.

  • As a survivor... I will agree that Toba is the worst map. 2nd worst, Knights realm. Toba is confusing as hell... the sights, the clutter, the sounds... just ugh.. and Knights realm is barren, lifeless, boring.

  • ?? That skillful action took guts to do, as they knew they would probably get hit once completing it. If they didn't pop the gen in your face (as you say), then they would probably pop it within the next minute anyways. I don't see how getting injured by the killer, because you did something in front of them, is a "reward". Some are masochists, i guess. "Thank you, Billy, may i have another?"

I mean, if you are against them completing things at the last second (in your face), you are free to stay away from them.

Yes that's intended now, the perk will only activate when killer is looking at you in LoS now that they removed the TR indicator

Was this in a press release? As it still has the same description it had, so I am going to assume that this is just a bug and the devs aren't that inept to nerf a perk that makes the game playable for many people. Speeaking for myself, I can't play the game without it. Being jump-scared by GF or Myers is not on my list of things I would consider "fun". As such, I have to waste a perk slot of Spinechill, no matter what. I literally can't play the game until they fix this (hopefully) bug.

  • Not to mention... if a teammate wants to kill themselves on hook... If they are unable to, there is a good chance they still won't help your team. The suicidal survivor is done with that match... why would they become an active member of the team after being denied their suicide? They will either do nothing, or just let the killer take them out again with chase. They wouldn't go hide in a locker... that would be wasting their time. They want out of that match and to get into another one as soon as possible. There is no work around for attitudes. Just accept that the match is no longer a real match after the suicide and have fun with it.

  • Lot of comments over such a ridiculous thread subject.

Let's say that the survivor that wants to commit suicide, can't... because 'that mechanic' is taken out of the game...

Well... there's nothing making that survivor actively help out their teammates. They can go into a locker somewhere and go idle... or just walk around doing nothing. You can't make the survivor actually contribute, so this thread is moot. A suicidal survivor isn't going to help the team, whether or not they are allowed to commit suicide.

  • Is this being looked into? I have this same problem. I go through most of my matches with this text on my screen. It's really weird. Their have been many DBD updates since this post, but yet the problem hasn't been fixed... makes me think no one is looking into it.

  • Hmm.. It's def a power against DS, which can be its own discussion. Kindred should probably work, though.. Maybe... Although, Kindred is not really needed, as the cage is generally away from the killer and I believe the killer doesn't know where the cage is.

But with that said.. Kindred should probably work.. Its kind of useless, but it will tell everyone where the other survivors are, I believe.

    @jordanjustice We have 26? 27 killers?

And you complain about just one ;)

Pyramid head is not so often seen at all. And good ones are stuff of legends (sorry if any PH is offended).

That Cage of Atonement is unique in different ways. Guess unique stuff work different.

    Sorry for the late response...

I'm not really complaining about the killer.. just the perk.

The perk is useless. All it does is give more bloodpoints... which is what I'm all about.

Sure, when saving from the cage, its not technically saving from hook. That's fine. But, the perk is more just about the saving, and less about where you save from. Therefore, my proposal is that saving people from the cage should also be a stack to the perk.

    @Bwsted said:

There would be no issues in and of itself in making cages grant WGLF stacks. Tokens affect bloodpoint gain, but don't give any in-trial advantage whatsoever. The hook-perk argument is not that sound either. There are already multiple ways to gain tokens, of which hook rescues are only one possible venue. So, WGLF is not an exclusively hook perk already.

BHVR doesn't probably want to go down that path, because there would be an uproar asking for cages to grant BBQ stacks as well, but that wouldn't be gameplay neutral at all. BBQ proc'ing would not only offer game-impacting effects in the form of aura reading and potentially even clue in to the potential location of the cage.

In short, avoiding the issue, BHVR also avoids having to deal with the pettiness of this community. For once, I can't fault them for that.

This perk in no way affects the killer or helps the survivor out in the match. It's just fundamentally wrong to not get a stack for saving someone from the cage.

BBQ grants an in-game advantage. If they want to take away BBQ's aura readings, to actually make it as useless as WGLF, then by all means.. give them a stack for it. Or give them a stack, without actually showing the readings for this one particular example. Its just bloodpoints. Technically, the killer got the down, so the killer deserves the stack. Who cares.

I don't see a strong connection between BBQ and WGLF. WGLF has 0 in-game use. It awards survivors with bloodpoint bonuses off of doing certain feats that help other surviors. Rescueing another survivor from the cage is such a feat and should belong in the list of things that gets a stack for WGLF.

The list of things fundamentally wrong with this game is so long... I would just think doing this one simple, logical thing, would be easy enough for them to do.. One less thing on the list.

  • The grading system is one of the reasons to play the game.

I understand that it has nothing to do with the MMR... But it is a game mechanic that people play the game to improve.

I just find it very flawed.

For instance, today... I was Iridescent 3, with 4 ticks... Ready to Pip up to Iridescent 2.. (serious face on)

The match proceeds... all 3 of my teammates DC within a few minutes.

Guess what? That's a down tick for me.... WTH.

Yesterday... I got a cloak and hide in the corner wraith... obviously there wasn't much to do in that match.

All gens got done and we eventually left.

Down tick for me, cause the stats... that's ridiculous.

Why am I punished for other peoples actions?

This is the type of thing I'm talking about... The system doesn't understand, at all, what actually happened in the game... so it shouldn't be able to judge and punish you. The only things it should be judging is rather or not to give you a tick or NOT. "0", "+1", "+2". These can be determined by stats. The 0 is kind of your punishment. The game is telling you, you didn't do enough in this round. Makes sense.
