  • My killer que isn't long. About 90% kill rate killer on most. 100% the game is not fun for either side right now but in my opinion caters much more to survivors. Id rather have the return of 2 shack windows as opposed to the incredible amount of 2nd chance and gen rushing perks given out now.

    Hello everyone,

this weekend was horrible for me as a Solo/Duoque player and I have s simple question for my fellow Soloque mates. Why do you queue up when you won´t do a thing.

This is a rant about the mentallity of some Soloque players and why the game often feels impossible to win.

On Saturday i started DbD after a long time to see "How the maps got butcherd and holy ######### some loops are really horrible". My first game was against a bubba, which got his first down 20 seconds in the game on our Vittorio. Well no problem, one gen was half way done. I went for the unhook, healed Vittorio up and went straight back to our gen. Than the s***show started and my mate called out "Vittorio went into a locker."

Short story… Me and my mate and the other random finished all except one gen with 3 people, while Vittorio was hiding all match. He got like 6k BPs after the game.

Beeing me I asked him "Dude why didn´t you do anything? We could have won that round" and he answerd the following; "Well this game was over when it started. I looped the Killer for years and you guys didn´t finished the gens, so why should I do something to help you losers escape?" I was completly buffled. What is wrong with people in Soloque? Are they just this desillusional?

Rush gens, laugh at any killers not named nurse or blight. Easy win.

You have to not move while you do it. If you move forward they are able to get behind you and start the vault animation.

Thanks. So just vault and not touch any thing?

  • @YaBoi0215 said:

Leave it to a survivor main to complain about not having their hand held even more than is already is. The whole mentality just feels like, "If I don't instantly spawn at an open exit gate the beginning of the game with infinite sprint burst and 7 millions pallets to annoy the killer than the game sucks and should be cancelled."

Maybe enjoy some challenge with the game. Learn to run loops properly. Appreciate the skill of good killers that now how to mind game and outplay you around loops. If you can do that then the game will be more enjoyable.

    Well said.

Wanting an S-tier killer nerfed is a long way away from “wanting [you] to play trapper every game”

Youre asking to take away one of 3 killers that consistently competes through out the continued ignorance of gen speed perks, free 2nd 3rd and 4th hit chance perks and 100 extra pallets per map. Were not even mentioning the absolute mess of anti slug uodate that they want to give survivors. Yes, I'd say you'd rather us all play trapper and make your game even more of a wood chop shop simulator so that your nea stays more scary then Michael Myers.

  • You just want us to use trapper every game and hand you the win more then the devs already do?

  • @BlackRabies said:

No, last time they turned off the DC penalty players were disconnecting every single game.

Id rather that then be forced to stay in one..

  • @MrMori said:

I'd rather they remove pregame lobbies completely and improve matchmaking/mmr instead. Give me an accept match button once other players have been found and take me straight to loading. Pregame lobbies only encourage dodging while wasting time, and dodging means backfills, which leads to more waiting and worse matchmaking since the system prioritizes speed when filling a backfill slot.

At least if there's no lobbies then it should in theory be way, way easier to matchmake properly based on skill, since you know people wouldn't dodge a lobby that's fairly matched just because it looks intimidating, and then let some poor sod backfill into it and get stomped.

Since there's killer specific MMR now, you should be able to play your casual killers against casuals and strongest killers against strong teams at least in theory.

Good constructive non judgemental idea! Too bad this community doesn't accept that type of attitude.

True because now if you get better as survivor and get into high end of mmr there is very little space for other killers exept the top tier killers which are common here. Before mmr you could get super good huntress main with x thousands hours and then game after "baby" nurse that teleported 3 times per whole match and chased you as m1 killer or blue eyes wraith who was looped for 5 gens it was random now the bracket are more restricked who you get against your self.

I'd love to have that broken system back over what we have now. Every game is now the same as the last once you hit a certain tier. Variety would go a long way again.

  • This wasn't an issue before the new mmr. It was mixed game plays for the most part. Killers and survivors had options of builds and fun killers. You may get some new guys and obliterate them with freddy one game and the next game get obliterated yourself. Don't be upset with blight and nurse, be upset with being forced to play people of your skill level and if your skill exceeds that of fun games against fun killers, it isn't a killer specific issue, it's you and bhvr.

  • Dear killer, every strategy on any killer not named blight or nurse, gone. Rename it to tickle the killer by daylight.

Exactly, man. They even DM’d me last year threatening to ban me just because I brought up balance issues. They’re far gone at this point… cough Blizzard vibes.

I don’t understand how people can even defend this patch, really.

I received one yesterday for a quote similar to this. If they'd spend as much time balancing the game as they do modding opinions, it would be cool.

  • You're gonna get put on that non civil list. How dare you call the game what it is?

  • You mean.. survivors aren't golden kids who never tea bag or grief killers into humping or slugging as a form of i gotcha? Unsure of the game you play but devs wouldn't allow such behavior here.

  • So when 5 gens pop and a killer has 0 hooks, can we abandoned penalty free as the games over?

  • @MechWarrior3 said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/447122/youre-telling-me-this-abandoned-function-is-okay

Before you blame the Devs…If you downed 3 survivors by chainsaw and 1 survivor is still up running about, the abandon feature does not activate.

If 1 is dead and I then down 3 this means no survivor is still alive.

  • Sir I've looped too many killers to count for 5 gens as a solo player and killer main. All m1 killers are a comedic failure.

  • @I_Cant_Loop said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3936175#Comment_3936175

so, you won and you’re still complaining that the game is somehow unfair for killers?

Yes, this games became riculously comical for any one trying to win with more then a few killers. I'm not degrading survivors solo experience but even that at this point with all the info given is a joke. Any half knowledgeable survivor with windows of opp can loop Myers for 5 gens. I've just returned from many months off only to see it's became more ignorant.

  • @I_Cant_Loop said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/446781/killers-became-a-joke-or-im-missing-some-thing

Are you losing like this all the time or just complaining about one rough match and drawing a broad conclusion based on that? You’re going to have some tough matches occasionally, just FYI. It’s normal

The assumption that I lost this game is incorrect, you're missing the point. How is dealing with this nonsense even a thing?

  • Oh yeah? The gen defense in 2025 is great, the ability to slug and slow the game pace down in 2025, amazing as well. You need perks for anti tunnel? I thought they gave most out free at this point. I've 0 doubt that your skill level is so amazing that you don't notice how awful the balance has became. you clearly don't have the same game experience as me.

  • @hermitkermit said:

Statistically speaking, as killer you are more likely to win your games no matter which one you pick. You should be fine, as the majority of people who play killer are maintaining a decent kill rate. (According to what was last provided) If you don’t believe in statistics, then I don’t know how else to reassure you.

Maybe just give it 3 games or so and see how ya feel! 👍

Winning your games and the game being fun to return to are completely different things. High tier killer is a simulator of the same old every game. If you played a year ago, now you get to hook a survivor 4 times instead of 3, you can't dodge a flashbang (people don't find an issue here?), you can chain otr into ds into a dh allowing survivors to take 4 hits before that 4th hook stage, Kicking gens is irrelevant as it does jack all now and in return, you as killer can mori the last survivor without an addon!

  • @Moodyy said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/439025/make-chase-music-optional

Are you talking about his roar? His roar is a survivors audio queue to let them know when he's sprinting.

His roar is fine as well as the chainsaw. There are addons to make it where survivors can't hear his rev. As killer, it still helps induce early life deafness with the inability to turn it down a notch.

  • @Mr_K said:

The chase music is there to mask survivor sounds so they can lose you. With no chase music you can hear every foot step and every breath made.

Now, if you are asking for an option to revert to the old basic chase music. I'm all for that.

Unless you have proof of this reason, I disagree. It's an immersive feeling to add a sense of horror / fun to it. Chase music doesn't effect survivors at all but can completely muffle simple things like gen sounds for a killer.

  • @100PercentBPMain said:

This would mean everybody is forced to play with no chase music because it's just an active detriment.

No reason it can't be made to differ from user to user. I'd prefer no music, some enjoy it. I don't wanna take away from you preference I'd just like an option to chase without it for myself.

  • Much better experience, Dbd was fun! Such an array of gameplay available back then. It's a simulator now, same thing every game.

  • @solarjin1 said:

BT & Anti Camp are some of the best changes they ever made.

I will never understand the fascination with spawn camping in this game. Granted only a few killers can even do it nowadays but it actual people who thought dying immediately off hook was acceptable gameplay. Having a power tripping chainsaw wielding teletubby stand at your spawn isn't a feature that other games are missing out on.

You don't have a comparison to dbd game play to claim others aren't missing out (leatherface isnt the same). Spawn traps on nuketown are stupid fun! Just an opinion but to me It's mind boggling to abolish viable killer strategy by changing core mechanics without compensating both sides.

have you considered easing up a bit? Like if you notice that the killer isn’t doing so hot and you’re dusting them with your team , maybe take a lap. Touch some totems, open some chests, smell the roses, look at the weird raccoon in the corner. Idk. If it’s pretty clear my team is lapping and I play solo in solo q, I’ll give some breaks to let them get some hooks in, nobody likes getting completely stomped and if you know you’re not going to lose, ease up.. That’s just me though.

The game use to have alot more of this. Applauded!

  • @xGodSendDeath said:

The one I really can't wrap my head around was nerfing healing speed and Medkits to slow the game down and make injuries more impactful, but then giga buffing Resurgence so you can heal yourself/get healed in 2 seconds again

Someone understands the purpose of this post.

  • I believe a pretty big tournament was recently lost due to broken flash bangs. Guess the pro players (doing this for a living) need to be more aware of where survivors are and invest in better head sets. You could give them tips i suppose.

how do killers choose the direction of chase?

So, when I say this I'm never taking about absolute, complete control. The survivor doesn't have that either.

You likely aren't going to approach a gen being worked on from anywhere other than the direction you started from, for example, although... If you really wanted to prevent a direction you could approach from a different way.

No, I'm taking about looping direction and zoning. Once you're at a loop, the killer completely determines if that loop is run clockwise or counter clockwise. Some loops are much weaker run one way.

You can also largely determine which direction the survivor has to leave a loop. Breaking a pallet on one side of the other means the survivor has to go the other way away from you. Again, not every loop, but the killer can go anywhere, the survivor is forced to run away from the killer. So yeah, if you put yourself on the far side from shack, the survivor is going to run away from you and toward shack. But if you can put yourself between the survivor and shack, specifically by half looping again, they have to run away from it.

I feel like these should be killer 101 things, but more and more I'm understanding that people are apparently blasting music, half paying attention to the game, and just following survivors exact pathing around the map.

And you're somehow missing not only footsteps, but also fast vaults and scratch marks at a bare minimum. If you run anything other than slowdown, you can also see their aura. Hell, infectious fright literally hard counters this exact scenario for you.

Honestly, I'm kind of done with this conversation entirely. Your first response literally boils down to "well, a killer barely paying attention to the game should be able to hard counter a well coordinated SWF without any specific perks or effort" and that's just not a reasonable take. It's par for the course on these forums, but not something that should be balanced around.

You're either playing casually, in which case cool: so do I. But then don't get so upset that people might sweat more than you do. My attitude is if they want it so badly then so be it, I don't pretend to be the best DbD player to ever draw breath. (Although to read some of the things on these forums, I'm apparently a god at this game)

But if you're actually wanting to win, then you should start with taking the headphones off and playing seriously. Not arguing that your opponent forced you to put both hands on the computer to play.

The shack is a guaranteed 3 window loop by any half competent survivor, that's just for hit 1. Windows of opp has made it way too easy for survivors of all skill levels to run from one safety net to another without worry, good killers leave and potentially run the dead zone later. This is without even discussing chained loops that you're forced to leave or certain map mains with gens that are a joke to try and chase in. I'm not sure my mmr, I can assure you I 4k alot more then I don't. I've been around probably longer then most who are commenting here, which doesn't make me better but gives me the experience to speak here. The game isn't in a good spot balance nor fun wise and that's after a many month break. This games became a simulator at my mmr (what ever that is) of facing the same 4 - 6 perks on the same 2 maps doing the exact same things. This post won't change it and I'm not mad about it, I simply won't play. Like many others, just venting my frustration. For reference, devs nerf gen speeds then give out gen speed perks making them faster then ever. Make these decisions make sense.

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/435841/still-dont-recommend-this-game

You have Lightborne. Boom Countered. Killers dont like bully squads, survivors dont like getting slugged.

Flash bangs are a sure way to avoid a slug..

  • I don't mind the wait time. 2v8 is stupid fun!

  • Sounds like it's a bhvr issue.

  • Might be, would make sense.

  • Yes, cross plat is turned on.

  • I wouldn't call it any more cheap then a swf using coms in a game that doesn't have them. Though many seemed to have answer my question so I do appreciate it!

  • I can't spend blood points. Good times

  • @Junylar said:

Don't go into the dungeon as the killer, just hold the gens outside, where there are just 1.5 trash pallets.

Dodging shack chases or main building chases is a viable strategy but it's one I'm not forced to take. Infi loops should be a thing of the past as devs and designers have fixed. I expect this to be noticed and fixed as well hopefully not 3 years from now.

  • Yes you can do both. How ever, the side entrance of the main building leads to an infi that you can't touch as an m1 killer. Hold w, hit portal allllllllll game long with 0 counter.

Right, right. Your 4 perks to counter all 12 16 perks.

If you had to do that…. They wouldn't have, "still have gen defense to counter your gen rush builds" or "be viable in a chase since windows now allows bum players to loop great."

Thats way too many perks, chief lol. Anyway, your point is moot regardless.  It's so funny you expect my 4 perks

I don't expect your perks to do anything. I don't care about your perks. Go perk less, go full blown meta. Your perks are yours to cherish. All those words you splatted on the forums kind of make you look like you just want to get people riled up.

that should say enough to how ignorant the system is. I'm not convinced its the system, but rather killers who got caught in this situation and suddenly, an abrupt salt storm overcame them. Your example also just sounds like you're echoing something you heard somewhere.

Not trying to attack you, but you also strike me as someone who wouldn't mind that either.
But I'm not, for the record :)

Part of the issue in these conversations is people like yourself can't not make it personal. I've not degraded, name called nor am I salty. I 4k wayyyyyy more games then I don't. The perks that make one mmr considerably balanced completely ruins the game in other mmr levels. I don't know what mmr I'm at but I do know I see the same 6 perks every game on every survivor so yes, to be viable I have to counter your perks. The attack here I suppose would be saying unless you're a potato still using urban evasion in a corner, you can't disagree with the situation. Facts don't have feelings homie, stop taking it personal.

  • No clue, may be working now. Haven't tried any more.

  • They nerf flash lights out of lockers but allow flash bangs.. that should say enough to how ignorant the system is. I love the run a perk to counter a perk as well! It's so funny you expect my 4 perks to counter all 12 of yours, still have gen defense to counter your gen rush builds and be viable in a chase since windows now allows bum players to loop great. Makes sense.

  • Killer lol it isn't my first day. Basic m1 attacks. Survivor screams and procs make your choice but doesn't instadie. Dbd 2024! Shotty as ever

That's why I hit survs as they are unhooked.
Bye Bye DH, BT and OTR.

Lol the ds game changer negates every thing you just said.

  • This is a joke right? I thought only the devs were oblivious to this game... off the record into a decisive strike into a dead hard and bam... 4 hits per killer down. Anti tunnel perks made just for the casual fan base, not to be abused by higher tier players please.

  • Easy no, not at all. I play both and I'm damn good. Games in a terrible position and unless you're bottom of the list, potato in a corner just vibing then you know this.
