To escape, which is the actual objective of the game. Everything else is incidental.
lol man.. if that's the case why is it only a small portion of your score? i believe the actual objective of the game is to level up and unlock perks, teachables, items, and addons.. you can't do much of that if you're choosing to to play all douche like & watch other people play the game while you wait for your big solo escape.. it takes a team to make a score worth a damn..

Dead by Daylight is not a team based game, it is a survival game. Think of it like a real life scenario, would you actually go back for someone you don't even know and possibly get yourself killed or just focus on your own survival? You have to think of this game like an actual slasher horror, most of the time in slasher horror, the survivor girl just focuses on herself and if someone has been caught then it's just too late.
there are so many things i want to laugh at about this but i just can't.. Dead by Daylight - a 4v1 asymmetrical horror game.. 4v1.. wait maybe you missed it.. 4v1... not 1v1v1v1v1, 4v1.. people are free to play it as a 1v1v1v1v1 and be possess all the qualities of a top-notch douchebag, caught in a real life scenario where the last one standing is the "smart" or "good" or "skilled" one or whatever, but they're really just a douchebag.. hey guys? you want to just hope you're the last one found with me over and over and over again? its super dope!
omg i laughed so hard at all of these people saying these things.. top notch thread for sure :) keep up the good work guys! loving it <3

the problem isn't the time it takes to do the gens, the problem is the meta that's been created and sworn to like religion that dictates being good at Dead by Daylight requires gen rushing and running out of the exit with no points like stooges..
as a survivor i get lots of teams that bury their heads in gens & want nothing more than to run out of the exit without ever even knowing who the survivor is.. to me, their teammate, it's disgusting and boring as all hell.. but, that's how those people like to play the game and who am i to tell them to play my way..
that being said, that goes both ways.. who are they to tell me i have to play the game their way?
my advice to you as killer or survivor would be to encourage the game to end as quickly as possible and move on to the next one.
as survivor, if the game isn't almost over, go do something risky & accidently end up on a hook.. if the game is almost over and everyone's ready to leave, i usually still run around looking for totems & chests.. i try to get chased a little more, maybe a few more pallet stuns.. i don't mind if End Game Collapse kills me at all because i really need the time in game and doing stuff so that i don't de-pip..
as killer, see if you can hide from the gen rush team.. don't scramble for points, accept your low score and depip and do what you can to ensure they get no boldness or altruism.. definitely don't switch targets.. you scrambling for points and switching targets gives the ######### survivors the points they need to safety pip.. if you do it too much they'll pip ..
if you're chasing someone who's giving you mad loops and you can't hit them for whatever reason, stay on their tail and DONT switch out.. maybe you'll learn something you didn't know for later when you're playing survivor (or killer again), and most importantly, everyone depips with you ;) hopefully they don't have a great time and they surely won't giggle for long when they see the scoreboard, and maybe they can take that lesson with them into their futures.

i like that guy up there that said (and i quote):
"There's also the basic fact that this is a horror game where you are not suppossed to know whether your teammates will help you or leave you to die"
super funny statement bud :) in solo queue i used to think more people actually wanted points & wanted to play the game, but now i'm about 95% certain whether my solo queue teammates will leave me to die or not.. i get super surprised 5% of the time for sure!

i think the biggest thing that needs to be considered is removing "legitimate"?? reasons for people to disconnect frequently. once those are gone you can be a little more agressive on the players for doing it, but at the moment we have people who insist dc'ing from a game is a valid play strategy, whatever that means..

Should of picked up the downed survivor. Before he killed himself especially if the bar got to half way
i agree with this part, not the part about giving extra points or whatever for the event.. the killer could have put you on the hook, the survivors could have saved you, whatever.. tapping out is tapping out and tapping out "excessively" should be a much smaller percentage of dc's and should result in bans to discourage it, then problem solved. no extra things necessary..

that's a drug joke..
let me translate:
when you're empty, inject.. you will bight down hard and then ZOOOOM.. you're off!
not glorifying, just saying it's not a rtl thing or whatever..

hex perks are good for the game. they encourage survivors to find and break totems. breaking totems is easy, fun, rewarding, and sometimes challenging. games where no totems are broken are too easy, not fun, not rewarding, and only slightly challenging.
if people are so focused on thinking they want to be the best that they want to offer advice on changing things in the game, perhaps they're just seeking more fun out of mundane experiences they are already having. there's good news for that too: more fun already exists! it's called breaking totems & doing things other than trying to gen rush meta..
challenge yourself to make sure every totem is broken in every game you play and see if you don't have a much better time. if not, what did you lose?

i think if your play style is not compatible with mine, we are both unlucky from the start.
there are a lot of survivors that think you as a survivor should not be able to "choose" to die because they are happily in their own world doing their own thing and they have no concept or care for your ideas or intentions.
many survivors think its your duty as a survivor to buy them as much time as they want, lay around waiting for them to maybe decide later to come and get you if they should choose to, so that they can get points. they see what you are doing as a "service" to them by your "taking one for the team" or whatever they want to call it.
they do not understand that the choices they make are what is dictating your actions, e.g. your desire to move on to the next game. it is not their active choices in what they are choosing to do or not to do that causes you to think it is a stupid game, but you being bad/unlucky or some combo of the two that put you on the ground and you should be grateful if and when they decide to come get you up or off of the hook..
the ones not making the sacrifice are in turn the ones making the sacrifice by doing the work you were not able to do because you were "found too early" and nobody bothered to come and get you, causing you to have multiple minutes of no scoring actions, and ultimately a super ######### game no matter what.
imo the faster i get killed in those games the better because i get to move on to another game and hopefully the next game will have better survivors in it.. sometimes i wish i had a button i could press to end things as well, but in the grand scheme of things it's only 2 minutes max, probably 1 by the time you know nobody is coming (or you would rather they didn't), leaving you another minute to go use the restroom or grab a drink or a snack..
if they were to implement a suicide button, its only use would be to use negatively to let someone know you are upset with them, saving you maybe 60s of game(play), so i do think it is best that the game never have that feature, no matter how much i'd like to use it now and then..

1) yes.. for the past few days i have also noticed an uptick of new users that legit have no clue how to play the game..
2) most available resources on how to play the game are currently more focused on chain-stuns than helping newer players learn to play, so who knows how long these people could take to naturally figure out a better flow of the game, much less one that other people would like as a teammate.. good news is, it's pretty much always been like this.. how you play the game is determined by your experiences and the people that you personally have played with. even if you watched some other people play differently and got some ideas, it's up to you to mold them into your actual play style over time.
3) the game has the "avoid player" feature.. it sucks but i constantly have to leave lobbies because i don't want to play with a group full of blendettes looking ready to enjoy hiding the match away.. sometimes i have to leave many lobbies in a row before i find a game that looks like it may be worth playing.. even in those cases, i still have really bad games.. it's been like that as long as i've been playing and i'm near 5k hours in game..
the approach i take with those players is trying to convince them to come do something, and it actually does work on people if you're patient or a-holey enough, but ultimately if they insist on playing a game that i wasn't trying to play there's a hook waiting on me.. ez. on to the next one. not every game can be a winner, and in any game you're at best 25% of what it takes to get things done.. if there's not another 25% worth player in the game, sometimes it's best to just move on..

personally i dig the new randoms gameplay.. i've fully embraced it and i can tell you it's kinda fun!
when i load into a game these days i'm not touching a gen solo.. i'll patrol the gens looking for anyone doing a gen that i can help & get some co-operative points from.. i keep Prove Thyself on for double BP & emblem points for all co-op i can find, but being honest most of the time I can't find anyone doing gens.. so mostly i break totems while making the rounds looking for work buddies..
sometimes i like to get up on the hill and spin around in circles for a minute or two, daring my feet to drop off the edge of the hill and ecstatic joy when they do not.. sometimes i'll find one of the little d-bags just squatting behind something, edge of the map or not, so i'll either crouch next to them and try to watch whatever they're watching, or i'll run circles around them as fast as i can to encourage them to move.. sometimes after deciding they can't lose me as easily as they hoped, they'll make it to a generator and i'll get a little bit of co-op.. that's always a nice thing.
other than that, i enjoy moonwalking, dubstep dancing, the electro-squat, appearing in windows and pointing at people on the other side, killer included..
the problem is really that there are just so many fun things to do in the game that you kinda miss them all if you're trying to rush the gens and getting upset about what the other guys are doing.. some day i hope to be as good as those other guys tho that just don't seem to ever have to do anything and they get to watch everyone die & jump in a hatch.. so far i think my mistake is actually playing the game too, like the hook saves & stuff.. maybe if i just squatted behind a rock i'd get a super dope escape rate? perhaps i'll get that good in my next 5k hours if only i could deal with being so bored by not actually playing the game in hopes of winning.. :)
