I'm a fairly new player, and while I can see things from the killer player's perspective, on the other hand, from a personal standpoint, it does feel sometimes that I'm playing against overmatched killers. Eventually, I'll figure out looping and evasion, but for now, I'm just standard running away with a few sneaky moves to try to evade the hooks. Yes, I'm trying to "Git good." But try to see things from my perspective for a second. I unlocked Laurie Strode, level one. Played my first match with her. So I only had one perk I could put on her, which I was playing for the first time.
My first match as a level one Laurie was against a killer with "Exposed" and thus, one shot instacripple. Needless to say, the match didn't go on for very long. Now I was playing Ash beforehand, so I was decently experienced with the gameplay, but imagine if I had just downloaded the game, and that was my very first match. You can see how someone brand new might feel just a bit overwhelmed, eh? I mean you'd expect there might be just a little more of a learning curve than the walkthrough you complete before they throw you in the fire, right?
I'm not saying that's the fault of the killer players who tirelessly worked on their killer to boost them to the level they have them at. I lean more towards pointing the finger at the developers, and the matching system. I think it would definitely be a lot more fair, and help draw people into continued play, if the level one survivors were paired with, say, a level one-level five killer. It seems the random matching aspect of the game (I play mobile only) is a bit flawed. I don't have a squad, and aside from a few matches I'm played with the players I've friended after a match, ever match I play is from the random pairings.
I think the "killers are overpowered" messages to contain a bit of merit. I bought Amanda/The Pig, (One of my favorite characters from "Saw") and played a match as a level one against players that were at least rank 10, as they had four unseen perks on their account. Even though I was unfamiliar with the controls, and wasn't trying very hard (I was doing the necessary jobs to collect daily perks. I think I had to break two pallets, and slash four survivors) I made like 20,000 bloodpoints. I put two people in the dying state and fitted them with traps, and hooked one survivor, the rest of the time I was chasing and hitting. My only kill of the match was one of the two players having their trap go off before they escaped. Even with an unfamiliar character, and without very much trying, I did better on bloodpoints than over half the matches I played as a survivor. And I'm a schmuck.
I think part of the reason for the complaints, and certainly speaking from my own first-hand experience, is that when you're playing a random match against a killer with "Exposed," and Mori for quick kills, it seems like the person playing the killer isn't interested at all in having a match. He wants to wipe out the survivors in two minutes, collect his bloodpoints and rewards, and get out of there. And believe me, I have been in match after match where the time waiting for the match to start was longer than the match itself. I focus on generators, but when you're 30 seconds in and two people are on the ground, you're really screwed. If you leave them, the odds of two remaining players fixing the five generators themselves is next to impossible, so you're forced to play rescuer, and if you're against a skilled killer, you're usually on the ground with them. If you say screw it and decide you'll wait for the hatch to spawn, it's can come across as a bit of a jerk move. As a point of reference, the two downed players weren't doing the "One got hooked let me immediately unhook them while the killer is right there" move, they were just paired together at the start of the match and they were able to use exposed and down them quickly before they had a decent chance to escape.
I don't mind the kill moris. In a way, it makes you focus that much more on not getting killed, when you hear the gong and see the player's face turn into a skull.
"Exposed" I am not a fan of, mainly because it seems very overused. If you're dropping "Exposed" at the start of the match, to me, it just seems lazy. "I could look for visual clues and listen for audio cues, but why do that when I can just let the game tell me where people are, and then instantly put them in the dying state?" I have no interest in it, and I won't use it. I'm sure there will be matches in the future where I'll only make a few thousand bloodpoints and be outclassed by the survivors, but to me, that's a match. I'm the one that can walk anywhere I want, hit anyone I want, and all they can do is run, drop a pallet on me, or shine a flashlight in my eyes. It makes for a much more pleasurable playing experience when I'm playing as the killer to only use my basic attack functions, and I'm sure it's more pleasurable for the survivors I'm playing against when they have a decent shot of outrunning me, or outfoxing me. It's not like my pride is being damaged. If all four of them escape, more power to them. After being sacrificed so many times, I'm happy to give them a match where I'm not giving them a cakewalk, but where they can win if they play even halfway decently.
"No one escapes alive" also seems like a big way to stack the deck in the killer's favor. I was in a match with a demogorgon, and he was obviously inexperienced. He only hooked one of us, and one time he walked right past me standing next to a generator. We powered up quickly, and because he had that hidden hex, he was able to kill two of the survivors right at the end. I mean the survivors are having to tread lightly, be covert, run and escape, and we did all that, and then that hex was dropped as a get out of jail free card.
Obviously, I'm not expecting the game to nerf the killers at all. The perks are out there, and that's all there is too it. But a few more perks to counter (Like a one time or two time use "Exposed" shield) would be a fair compromise.
Simply learn to counter killers who can do that. An exposed shield would be terrible and would be abused so hard by so many survivors, it will also make killers such as Myers and Ghostface even weaker.
Just keep playing killer till you reach red ranks and face off against actual competent survivors, you will feel so powerless even though you're supposed to be the "Power role" in this game. There are only a few killers that can give good survivors a hard time, as most of the cast are just honestly underwhelming.
However, I do agree that the game is hard to learn, but I don't exactly see this as a really bad thing.
-
How the hell can they nerf one of the most simplistic, balanced perk there is for killer?
-
Why are keys even a thing?

Not gonna bother reading in that format

Yeah most of his add ons are just horrible, but there are some that are decent.
There's 3 reliable add on combos that I usually run and think are the best.
First one is stacking duration add ons : Stolen Sketchbook + mural sketch makes it much more possible to chain hits.
Second one is 1 duration + 1 pin add on : Stolen Sketchbook + Legion pin makes the best combo, inflicting broken status can really counter medkits and help fortify slowdown builds like Thana + Dying light. You can also use mural sketch + defaced smiley pin as a bootleg version of the first but it still works very well.
And then there's stacking cooldown fatigue add ons : Cold dirt + Joey's mixtape, so that they reduce the stun fatigue from 4 to 3 seconds (you can really feel the difference), this allows for much more aggressive play but less chain stab potential.
There's also the Iridescent button that's good, but I rarely use it, if you plan on using it though, you should combine it with Stolen Sketchbook.
Finally I personally think that the rest of his add ons are completely useless, recovery is dumb because you don't need your power once everyone is injured, the blade add ons barely add anything and frank's mixtape + stab wound study is a a complete joke nowadays as it is literally outdated and only worked with Legion's old power.
Edit : Oh I didn't even think about the detection add ons and the fuming mixtape, but then again that just proves how useless and forgettable these add ons are.
-
yes sir
-
Nah man, even I'd say that most of these changes would make them too overpowered.
-
Sounds like you haven't been through survivor hell and faced campers/tunnelers yet.
Like Kolonite said, I agree that DS should simply just deactivate or lose some of its duration every time the survivor tries to abuse it by going in a locker or something like that.
Except DS and even BT should still remain in the game because without them, campers and tunnelers can do what they love without any counters.
You should try to play both sides, and maybe you'll understand that getting camped, facecamped and tunneled isn't a very enjoyable experience for the survivor.
How to counter DS? Either go for the unhooker or simply slug the recently hooked survivor.
-
He's been my main killer for pretty much around 300 hours now.
People simply say he sucks because once he's used his power and injured everyone, he's basically a loopable m1 killer with no power to really help him in chases and down people. While yes, in low ranks he's hella powerful because survivors will be constantly dropping like flies and healing constantly, in high ranks however, where survivors actually know how to counter and loop him, he has a much harder time to shine compared to other killers.
I still do fine with him tho, while yes he does have his setbacks and problems, adapting and finding ways to overcome his weaknesses is in my opinion the learning curve you have to go through to actually become good at him. (pretty much every killer as well basically). But killers with many flaws such as Legion or Clown take much more effort to play well. They can still be effective and viable to a degree, but it will take much much more to do well with them than other killers such as Freddy, and even then they might still not be as viable.
Yes his power is hard to chainstab in bigger maps, but that's why you learn to know when it's time to cancel your power and instead just walk to their last location seen with killer instinct or return to the survivor you last injured.
Yes his power is really weak once survivors spread out, but that's just his specific weakness that comes with every single killer power.
I see how you can have trouble hitting frenzy at the shack, I used to as well when I first started out, but I learned to anticipate survivor movements and even learn to mindgame/manipulate my red stain while in frenzy to get some cheeky hits in good loops.
Yeah his frenzy running speed might seem slow at times, frenzy makes him move at 130% movement speed which is 15% faster than his normal walk speed. In my opinion his running speed is fine, you just need to time his frenzy correctly. He's already faster than regular cloaked wraith (wraith moves at 126% while cloaked) and while yeah sure a small buff to his speed might be nice, we must still take in account the counter play that the survivors can do to counter/evade his frenzy. If we made him too fast and too hard to counter, Legion would become the no skill-no brainer killer he used to be before, and survivors would be getting hit constantly while being able to do absolutely nothing against him. It's already rather easy to chain hits, so if we made it even easier, even people playing with their feets would be able to torment survivors with streaks of chainstabs. Sprint burst is indeed faster than frenzy, but not for long as frenzy lasts longer and eventually catches up. Heck, I'd even say that the fact that you can lose your power in frenzy if you miss a swing/get stunned gives me a sense of thrill every time I play him and makes chaining hits much more satisfying.
Now I might sound like I'm saying that Legion is fine the way he is, but honestly I agree that he needs a retouch, especially to his add ons as most are just plain outdated, and a few slight buffs to his power such as increasing power duration, power recovery speed and decreasing frenzy fatigue duration would be great.
So while Legion has many drawbacks and flaws, there are ways to "bypass" them and still do well with the killer. It's easy to injure survivors with him but hard to actually down them, but that is why as any other M1 killers, you learn to mindgame. It's even easier to mindgame as Legion because they are very small compared to other big m1 killers such as trapper or wraith.
He is SO close to being a good killer who can actually pressure multiple survivors well, he just needs a few tiny buffs and his hitbox to be fixed so that he can properly bodyblock while fatigued.

Thats the point.
323 hours.
Then, how many time left to me think that the game is balanced?
So, if you have 15 hours of gameplay... you should shut up and can´t give opinion until 2000 hours played?
You guys seems to use the argument of authority a lot here.
Yeah 320+ hours and you're only at player level 47, you've definitely afk'ed a lot because I'm at 330 hours but I've already gained a devotion level a long time ago (which occurs when you go over player level 100 by the way, just gonna tell you this in case because you probably don't know what it is)

Another game where you do 2 generators almost alone, save 2~3 ppl... do not rank up... but freeze. No fun, killers kill everybody. gg
Everyone experiences that, not just you. That's just the solo survivor life, 70% of the times you will have potato teammates.

I think you are saying non-sense.
Well... the ranks you kinda can up without win. You play well... you do things, scores well... +1 even losing. So, im doing my part here.
I don´t see where this works wrong.
But OK, im noob, i feel the Killer OP. I can´t say it in this forum prob... because everybody are killer or surviver higher rank... the rest needs to be quiet? kkkkkkkkkkkk
Well, im giving my opinion, if hurts you guys... im sorry.
No your opinion doesn't hurt us, we're just calmy telling you to try playing both sides and experience both survivor and killer so that maybe it'd bring light to you and maybe you can understand that killer isn't as easy/broken as you think.
And even then if you reach red ranks as killer and still think killer is overpowered, alright no problem, that's your opinion and I'll respect it.
-
Ranks can be pretty inaccurate, you can be in purple~red ranks and still be hella boosted.
Heck in this situation your player level actually tells us more about your playtime than your rank. Level 47 is rather low.
I also suggest you start playing killer to see the good and bad of both sides and then make a better assumption. (Spoilers : both sides can experience some BS)
I'd say killer is easy at first because every single survivors at the start are potatoes, but that is until you start to make your way up the ladder and start to play against decent survivors/toxic SWFs who will make you understand why there's actually a shortage of killers in red ranks. (Literally the moment I press ready as Killer I instantly find a match)
Yes I know camping/tunneling is a pain in the arse, but remember that there are ways to counter them and if the killer continues to play like that, he'll never actually improve and he'll probably stay in low ranks forever.
I used to be the polar opposite of you, I mained killer 24/7 and used to think survivors were hella broken beyond compare until I started playing survivor myself and reached red ranks there as well, and oh boy I finally understood the life of a solo survivor... it is absolute pure pain but frankly, the game right now is currently much more balanced than it ever was.
Still, in my opinion the game needs to do something about SWFs survivors as they can really break the game if played optimally.
-
Yep I've experienced all of these
-
Yeah there's a window in the temple that can't be vaulted as killer.
-
I'd simply go for duration.
But then again, literally only duration, frenzy stun cool down, legion pin and iridescent button are their only decent add-ons.
-
This thread is a literal waste of time just like all other posts like this.
-
@gofu said:
You know it's funny how almost quarter of the posts in this category is somewhat sh𝘪t like this. The player loses a match horribly and blames it on a game mechanism or a perk, they head to the forums type some stupid paragraph on how this perk made them not get their win, and then only realize one month later how ridiculous they sounded.
That's true, but auto aim is quite a problem especially with Legion's frenzy as it happens much more often (for some reason) and then you're punished with a 4 second stun and your screen goes black simply because the game decided to flip your whole screen and make you miss your attack, and now the survivor gets away and if he's good at looping/at an infinite, you can kiss goodbye to a few gens.
We need an option to disable auto aim because it screws us over, and as killer, making mistakes is much more punishing than making mistakes as survivors.

@Jejune said:
When you get injured after X amount of time (lets say 60 seconds for now):
- Reduced grunts of pain by 50%
- They bleed less by X1/X2/X3 % (Half of Sloppy butcher)
Doesnt stack with Iron Will
Stacks with No Mither, Sloppy Butcher, Stridor
Lucky break would become more useless then it already is.
Amazing buff to Legion
-
101% sure that it's bait
-
I don't like to run thanatophobia since I find that 16% slow to everything at best is pathetic, and even without the perk survivors still have a tendency to heal, so even the "oh the red bar tricks them into healing" is invalid most of the times. If they heal, just hit them again. Plus thanatophobia doesn't count dead survivors so that makes the perk even worst at late game.
What I run will usually always consist of Discordance and Monitor and abuse. Discordance so I can punish teamwork and get that early game sneak chainstab with Monitor and abuse. (When walking to a generator lit by discordance, try to walk there but not look at the gen directly, so that spine chill doesn't activate for the survivors.) Monitor and Abuse is perfect for Legion imo, it benefits your power since a bigger terror radius in frenzy will let you track more survivors, and a smaller terror radius outside of chase lets you get a lot of easy downs after the survivors are injured.
Then I usually run pop goes the weasel/Hex ruin, or even both. The new hex ruin is really good on Legion, frenzy will almost always make the survivor get off gens and pop is there as a solid perk in case ruin gets cleansed. But when ruin isn't cleansed, it really does it job and makes your life a lot easier, but then you will be playing with 3 perks the entire match pretty much.
You can run things such as spirit fury/enduring/brutal strength/blood echo if you need help downing survivors or if you aren't that good at mind games.
BBQ works with pretty much any killer but I don't really like to run it with Legion.
-
Exactly, most of the times its completely useless unless you are running iron will.
It would still be a much better choice to create distance after a pallet stun than to blind the killer.
-
Damm you better enjoy the look of that rank 1 icon before rank reset hits lol
Congratulations tho
-
Yeah I don't exactly want a full rework of his power as well, it would ruin it for people like me who actually play him because we actually find his power fun.
These quality of life changes is exactly what Legion needs, but his add-ons and hitbox while fatigued also need to be updated as well.

Not during the day. You wait 5-10m for a red rank killer game. Survivor Q is instant during the day. Killer Q is only instant at night.
Nope survivor queue is just as long in the day than it is at night time for me, but you are right that killer queues are no longer instant in daytime, yet they are still quicker than survivor queue.
There's especially a shortage of killers at night time because that's when the toxic SWF 4 man deathsquads tend to be more active.
-
Lmao killer in red ranks is legit instant queue, the moment you press the ready button you're already in a game.
Just shows how much of a killer shortage we got, so making killers come back and having to wait a bit longer won't hurt us at all.
On the other hand survivor queue takes 15+ minutes for a single game, incredible.
-
Rank 1 Legion main here.
If they had to have a rework, I hope it doesn't change their power too much as it would ruin it for everyone else who actually enjoys playing him and his power.
Yes Legion has a lot of problems, and I agree with most of the changes suggested, such as add-ons rework (some are literally useless such as Frank's mixtape and stab wound study), removing the loss of power gauge on basic attacks, reducing the stun cooldown of frenzy a bit, fixing their bugs such as not being able to see gen aura while in killer instinct and their hitbox while they are suffering the cooldown so they can probably bodyblock and not have survivors pass right through them. And there's more to be changed but I won't state them all.
Although I still think we should keep the fact that if they miss an attack during frenzy, it should still cancel their power or at least reduce their power gauge/have some kind of consequence or else it will be no skill Legion all over again where a braindead player can get free hits on survivors non stop. Keeping that disadvantage makes him funner to play, more intense, gives survivors a chance to counter his power and make him overall harder to play so not anyone can just pick-up on him instantly and get free hits on survivors.
Making him more lethal can also cause problems, a good Legion player will already collect their free down with a mindgame after they've frenzi'ed the survivor. So making him more lethal would make him possibly broken on good players again. We definitely need a way to make more slightly more lethal tho, maybe make deep wound an ACTUAL threat or make him more lethal via add-on reworks but again, a killer shouldn't be too dependent on add-ons.
-
Yet in this community, sadly there will always be people complaining and it WILL never stop.
-
There's toxic players on both sides.
Yes there's toxic flashy clicky and teabagging survivors, but there's also nice survivors.
Yes there's toxic tunneling, camping killers, but there's also fair-playing killers who try their bests not to be scummy.
That guy was just being an arse
-
All I play is Legion, and as much as I love them, I still sadly can't say that they are one of the best killers in the game.
Indeed, they are so close and with a few minor tweaks they can become really good, but currently there's way more killers that can do better than him while also taking less effort than him to play.
You really start to see Legion's weakness once you play with god SWF survivors, they will play in a way that will make his power seem useless and you will really feel pathetic playing him.
Still gonna play him tho as he's the only killer I actually find fun to play, hopefully BHVR does some minor buffs soon

Maybe you’re just a bad killer? I average 3-4 kills every game. Only when I get a combination of a killer I’m not used to playing and a bad maps with loads of pallets do I have more than 2 escape on me.
(Ignoring key games)
OMG YOU MUST BE SUCH A GOD AT THIS GAME THEN
PLEASE ENLIGHTEN US "BAD KILLERS", BY PROVIDING US WITH A LIVESTREAM OF YOU PLAYING THE GAME SO WE CAN ALL LEARN FROM YOU, THE MIGHTY REY_512!
In the meantime as we watch you, we might as well count how many games you really "win"
I would love for you to teach us how to play the game well, so I can no longer be just "a bad killer" in a "totally balanced, non survivor sided game".

I try to play a wide variety of killers, and I'll pick and choose whatever addons I feel like. Sometimes like with Mikey, I'll swap between several loadouts on a killer depending on my mood. I tend to stay away from the stuff thats REALLY OP though, which is why I have an ever growing stock of moris and iri hatchets. The day that I decide to actually start using addons on Plague...
I digress though, typically if I do well at keeping the pressure up... I seem to get people who felt like I tunneled them...as in the entire team...at the same time. Earlier I was accused of camping and tunneling as Legion because I dared to chase and down 2 teammates who were in the same general area of the hooked survivor. 4k with only 1 gen done that game.
Heres an example of someone who didnt like my gen pressure on a pretty normal looking Myers build...
Dude honestly if I was you I'd just permanently close the end game chat.
You seem like a really nice chill casual guy, you always say "gg" but these miserable pathetic bums are just really salty because things didn't go their way.
When things go bad for killers, sure some may go and rant on reddit and forums, but I've barely ever seen any killers be toxic and use severe slurs at end game chat, it's always the survivors. That guy is an example of a classic hypocritical survivor, he says you're sweaty as balls but the truth is that he's the sweaty tryhard since we can obviously see that he actually takes this game so seriously that losing makes him go batshit crazy and triggers him to that extent.
Then there's the ignorant survivors who have never played 1 second of killer in high ranks and think that they are the gods of the game (referring to the "huntress is ez" guy). Sure camping, tunneling and moris are annoying, but what about flashlights? teabags? current toolboxes? Using their logic we might as well say that looping is toxic and all pallets should be banned and removed from the game. What about we make a killers handbook for survivors as well? Let's make it so that if survivors are EVEN JUST TOUCHING gens slightly, it's illegal just like how they pressure killers into feeling guilty about killing which is literally their goal.
Freaking hell I am sick of these toxic awful people constantly being catered by the devs, and when they lose even though they have the advantage, they will have the audacity to treat the other side badly as if they weren't human beings also playing the game and trying to have fun. Classic entitled selfish survivors. Luckily not every survivor is like this but when you meet them, you honestly just wanna give up on this game or switch back to survivor.
