"Not intended because she was designed like that" is just an excuse for something indefensible. Legion could moonwalk to get someone down in the past, and it was patched. So, it should follow the same fate.
That indeed was an exploit. The difference here is that they introduced a new game mechanic that had not been tested before. It was not something relating to the killer and his power and addons interacting with each other but more so with a completely new mechanic being introduced to the game. Sadako got specific addons and a passive ability that were tested on the PTB that incentivise this kind of play style. And again this Legion strat basically had no counterplay while you can still counter Sadako. In this thread alone there is enough advise on how to do that. That was btw the reason they changed the Pig's power. Because there was nothing you could do about it as it was basically allowing a killer to go afk after 30s and still get some kills without playing the game.
-
Nope. I don't see that.

The name of it is tunneling a player to death by exploitation of a game feature, and, yes, that problematic.
"Exploit" would mean it's not intended. But since they designed Sadako and her addons specifically in this way I don't believe that. The more I think about it the more sense it makes that this actually is the way Sadako should be played. Her condemned status effect is useless in any other setup and her power won't help with M1 killer gameplay at all. So what else can you do?

This gameplay should not allow even the slightest opportunity to body block TV's from being used. If you play against the pig and she body blocks, you can go to another TV. Likewise, the same should happen if Sadako stands in front of a TV just to build up your condemned. It should happen the following:
If Sadako stands for 5 seconds within 0.5 meters from any TV, she would demanifest immediately after it, so survivors could insert the tape without a problem.
This is more fair than any other killer camping you to death or tunneling you out of the game. And that is more fair than going against squads that literally win the game in under 4 minutes by the power of toolboxes and Prove Thyself. Nah mate. You see an unfair advantage where everyone else sees a sad little girl that honestly would rather go back in the well than getting a nerf. How exactly do you expect Sadako to be played? Running after a survivor like a little puppy desperate for some quality time in the basement is more Bubba's thing. Running through survivors in the blink of an eye while leaving them on the ground is more of a Blight thing. The point is: It's her ONE AND ONLY niche. In a normal game she can't compete. She doesn't have one of those special abilities that allow her to do things efficient or slow down survivors or help her in chase. Until something like this is added I can only assume that this Condemned play style is the way BHVR imagined her to be played. Nerfing the arguably weakest killer in the game is never a good idea.
-
I would love that. Sometimes even after rough matches you have a genuinely nice interaction with the survivors and killer in EGC. It's too bad that there really is no benefit in being nice other than being nice. I feel this might also encourage a small portion of people not to be a d*ck. It would have to account for SWFs though since it wouldn't really be fair if 4 people played together all the time being absolutely horrible sports to the killer and still getting the reward for being nice.
-
They do be wrong.
-
It feels better than before. In the past you could play a perfect match and not even get 1 whole Bloodweb out of it.

If you don't believe me, just listen to one of the fog whispers...
https://youtu.be/pwWOgwYhcws
You literally forgot to mention that even Otz himself says that this isn't ideal and it might not work. Maybe watch his streams where he explains exactly what can go wrong with this strategy. What do you expect Sadako players to do instead? Magically turn into Nurse and start teleporting while in chase? She already is horribly weak and she has nothing to make you go down in 1 hit so you DO have enough time to insert the tape anyway. STBFL is not a perk that works from the get go. You have to do something for it first. If you have a problem with the only viable strategy on a killer that has nothing else going for them and that is not even a guaranteed kill even in the best case scenario you need to learn how to play survivor and how to play against it. Ima give you the same advice I get from people that stack the best perks, items and map offerings and beat me with a meme build before proceeding to teabag in the exit gates like their families's lives depend on it.
Git gud.

You can't blame the killer for playing the game. It's not their fault your team mate decided to dc. Blame the person that disconnected, be happy if the killer farms with you and accept that they have no obligations towards you.
-
When he was new and no one knew how to counter him, Dredge was very popular. But now more people know how he actually works and how he can be countered and delayed which makes him less satisfying to play.

I did get that kind of team on my 3rd game, that's why I'm confused. It simply feels very chaotic.
That can probably be explained by the nature of SBMM in DBD. The system tracks your performance and assigns you an invisible number that goes up or down depending on if you win a match. Matchmaking should then look for players that have a number very close to yours. However, in order to shorten queue times BHVR actually decided to modify the system by adding what I call MMR brackets. There are basically 3 brackets in which players are divided. The low bracket is for players with a MMR below the starting point from the minimum up to a number I can't remember. The middle bracket is the one in which you should be right now. And then there is the high bracket with a pretty low soft cap in which probably a majority of the more experienced player base is in. The reason your matches can and will be chaotic is because your actual MMR number doesn't matter so much as the bracket you're in. Let's say you are in the middle of the middle bracket. That means you can get matched with all players in that bracket including the ones at the absolute bottom and the absolute top.
-
What exactly is your question here? Is it how you can perform this well with a lack in experience and perks? If so there are several possible answers:
As you mentioned Artist is indeed a strong a killer so you have the power to back up a lot of plays that would be risky or sometimes impossible on other killers. I'm gonna assume that since you haven't played a whole lot of killer you should also be in the middle bracket of MMR which means that the survivors you go against often don't have too much experience themselves or just aren't very good at the game. With the use of NOED you also secure kills against people that are caught off guard.
As we know very little about the games you played I can only guess that the survivors did some mistakes as well. Sometimes 1 mistake is all it takes to completely turn around a game of DBD.
Also you could have had luck on your side. Getting a good map, conveniently being at the right place at the right time, getting a lucky guess on a survivors moves. Things like these can influence the game significantly.
It could also be you're just talented as a killer or make the right decisions because you already have a lot of experience with the game as a survivor and know how survivors and other killers play.
It is however likely you will soon get better survivors and won't be performing that well anymore if you don't get better at playing killer yourself.
-
All of the maps you listed have something in common. They look rather appealing. Seriously, I hate playing on Garden of Joy but it's stunning. Concerning gameplay, all these maps have too many crazy safe areas. A big problem with Eyrie is the number and strength of all these pallets. 90% are too strong to play around and can also be used to keep holding Shift + W and maintain distance. As soon as every single pallet is gone though it's the most killer sided thing you can imagine. Reminds me of The Game.
-
I don't know why but I have a soft spot for it.
-
I won countless matches by a huge margin even though the other side played well and sometimes even better than me. DBD is a rng based game. Sometimes you win or lose just because of the rng. Sometimes one survivor makes a mistake that ultimately causes the whole team to die or the killer makes 1 bad decision and can't recover from it. Why should I not say "wp" if they played well to that point? Trust me, no one is trying to upset by being sarcastic with a "wp". If they want to offend you they will more likely just insult you.
-
I wouldn't say she is D tier exactly. That might be a bit harsh. She definitely has some problems though. Many have suggested making her able to go through pallets while manifested should be the way to go. I think that might either not work all too well considering survivors would just continue to vault and Sadako would need to be unable to manifest while inside a pallet to prevent some issues that might occur otherwise or be incredibly boring both to play and play against since it pormote Shift+W instead of looping a pallet. One thing is for sure though. Sadako needs help in chase or very excessive buffs in other parts.
-
Firstly, you can almost always make a comeback. You just need to get that 1 hit sometimes to start snowballing. Second it's not only about winning. When you know it's likely you won't win the match the best thing you can do is either chase the best survivor in the lobby and see if you can learn from them or try to go for ambitious plays that might work in the future. Most importantly, focus on having fun not the outcome of the match.
-
To be fair with the exception of Badham they all look beautiful. Though I agree that these maps definitely are not well designed in terms of actual gameplay. The Game is just boring. It's always "Chase the survivor to a pallet, hope they won't loop it (otherwise try to brute force it), break it immediately because you can't play around it anyway, rinse and repeat." But please don't insult the design team like that. 25 pallets? They would never do something like that. It's actually up to 40 pallets. Similar issues with Eyrie. Garden of Joy has an other issue entirely. What is it with all those bugs on this map? Hitboxes that make no sense and tiles spawning in a way that create literal infinites without any pallets or windows are my personal favourites. RPD was very close to it's source material and while that was nice in a way the map also had a lot of issues because of that. In my oppinion the new versions are only better because they removed the library's second floor. Badham is completely outdated and has structures that, in the hands of capable survivors, work like torture devices. For example the house of pain. Now, Cowshed feels pretty much like an insult to killers. It almost feels like someone is trying to say "Hey, look! You wanted to have a fun and relaxing game as killer? Well, too bad. Now chase after the survivors knowing you can't really influence the chase because they will just hold Shift + W and run you for an eternity with no chances on mind games and reads while their team mates repair the gens!" It looks beautiful and none of these loops would be too broken if they were in a bubble with nothing else around. But that obviously is not the case.
-
I don't think Freddy is the worst killer in the game. He isn't great but he still has a somewhat decent anti-loop and a bit of mobility. Also why is Doctor so low? He is not super strong and heavily reliant on addons and perks but I fail to see how he would be weaker than Ghostface, Clown (except maybe with Pinky Finger) and Sadako. In the hands of the right player Doctor can still do a lot of damage imo.
It hurts to see Billy so low on a tier list but it's hard to make a case for him right now. There are a million little things he suffers from and those certainly add up. I hope he will get some love in the near future.
-
Ask the 4 SWF that run Hyperfocus + Stakeout + Prove Thyself combined with the best toolboxes sending themselves to the best map. I'm sure they'll tell you all about how fair and underrated ending the game in under 4 minutes is.
-
Exposed hits are NOT counted as 2 basic attacks. That's it.
-
Anytime I suspect an auto Dead Hard I'll try to get them to stun me with a pallet. Because most of them teabag behind it they are still in lunging range so all I have to do is hit the pallet. That moment when they automatically DH into the pallet and immediately know they're busted is just too funny.
-
Apart from Wraith being stronger than Billy, Nemi and Doctor I think overall this is pretty accurate. Although Myers can really only be considered this strong if he uses Tombstone Piece, else he crumbles. The thing about Wraith is that he has no qualities that are absolutely insane. He has a bit of map mobility but it's no match for Billy, his anti-loop is basically non-existent and his increased kicking and vaulting speed while cloaked don't make much of a difference. Not to mention 2.5% of gen regression for a kick is not that big of a deal. The 3 killers below him all excel in one aspect to a point where they can compensate for their weaknesses. I don't see that for Wraith.

Solo Q survivors shouldnt have to run perks to have the same things SWF gets for free.
My point still stands. SoloQ will never be on the same level as SWFs. Making perks base kit won't change that. It will however allow survivors to basically run multiple builds at once. You know, that was considered cheating not too long ago. When we get to a point where SoloQ has all the perks to help them compete with SWF how do you think that would look like? BT, UB, Kindred, Bond etc. would all need to be base kit. Just stack it with Open Handed and 3 other perks and see what happens. Adding a system for survivors to communicate is one thing but adding basically an infinite amount of perks to the survivor's base kit to try and achieve something impossible? I don't think survivors should be able to run 32 perks (8 each), do you?
-
Yeah and while we're at it, why not add Bond on top of that? Survivors already get a second perk base. We don't need survivors running multiple builds at once. If you want the benefit of a perk you should try and run it instead of asking for it to become base kit. That's how it used to work.
-
Pig is a bit like Pinhead. She destroys SoloQ but can be completely dismantled by SWFs.
-

I actually want them to steer away from this making perks base kit trend.
I'm with you. At this rate I see us all running multiple builds at once soon. The game can be balanced without making perks base kit.
-
I wouldn't be happy about it but I'd still play. The game isn't over until it's over (Usually when 1 person is dead and there is no way the gens are getting done or when all survivors are out.)

It's INSANE, how ######### dare they try to use their power, which is pretty difficult to get, to KILL people as a Killer??
Let's ban them. Better yet let's find out who they are so we can sue them.
-
It get's more ridiculous when you think about Doctor having addons that do the same thing but better. Freddy is a bit like Billy. Unloved and abandoned in the darkest corner of BHVR's basement.
-
A killer trying to use her power to win? How dare she?!
-
He lacks map mobility and despite what some may tell you he has a lot of counter play. As soon as you go against survivor that REALLY know what they're doing you have to up your game and become familiar with hitboxes and the exact timing of the chainsaw.
-
If MMR was more strict it would look different. But yeah, most killers are in a pretty good spot right now where they can perform well without having to camp every single game (I know there are people that still do it though). Still Myers, Sadako and Billy could use some love.

How is teabagging comparable to cheating?
It's not and I didn't compare it, read again. It's their signature cockiness before getting exposed for cheating. Why does any survivor DH behind a pallet? Because they literally cannot control it. They will automatically DH because the killer is technically in range and would be able to get a hit so their cheating software kicks in and exposes them. The fact that they always teabag before that happens just adds the cherry on top.
-
STBFL is a perk that benefits especially weaker killers so I'm not sure if it really needs a nerf. You can still loop the killer, it's just that Shift + W won't work. Eruption needs a complete rework in my oppinion. It does nothing against SWFs and destroys SoloQ. I'm kinda lost on overcharge though. Is it really that big of a deal to you? Hitting the skillcheck isn't that hard and since it takes quite a while for the increased regress to happen I really don't see problem.
-
There is a difference between someone playing good and someone perfectly using their DH every time after three dozen spins without even looking at the killer. Same with people that teabag behind pallets and then DH when the killer swings.
-
Doing literally nothing isn't skillful. Try winning hard matches without tunneling and camping, that's what skill is.
-
I still swing behind pallets. That moment when they look at you knowing they're busted is just priceless.
-
Removing grabs altogether is a bad idea. Removing hook grabs will only make the killer go for an exchange. Also there are perks against camping. Reassurence and Kinship both help tremendously.
-
4 slugs will very rarely happen. It's more likely someone gets tunneled and then the remaining 3 survivors get slugged. I think Bubba, Oni, Huntress and Plague will have the best chances of doing so.
-
If they bring 4 flashlights and send you to Dead Dawg that basically guarantees you won't have fun as a killer. The only counter to that is Lightborn. That and never go anywhere near the main building.
-
How would it? There is no "You must be at least this good to prestige." bar.
-
Interesting tier list. But there is definitely some things out of order.
For starters: Artist and Spirit are both strong contenders for the 3rd strongest killer in the game. Putting them so low is an insult their potentials.
Hag definitely isn't that high anymore. Maybe low A but not A+. Nostalgia isn't enough to make killers good.
Sadako has no anti-loop and even her strongest addons and most aggressive play style don't change that. Regardless of how confident you feel with her she is B Tier at best.
Trickster belongs straight under the Doctor.
Legion and Clown are both better than Myers. One has a crazy strong 1v1 the other a good 1v4. Myers has neither. He is slow with a power that doesn't really open up new situations and overall very outdated.
-
Kill them with niceties.
-
I had Claudette DC on me after teabagging me all game to get my attention. When I finally downed her (on a strong loop) in under 10 seconds with a Hillbilly curve she dc'd so fast her face didn't even hit the ground.
-
@smartemarte said:
Does anyone else think that the chains shouldn't be able to be spawned right ontop of the survivors?
The killer literally doesn't have to aim it and it instantly hits the survivor, surely this isn't how its supposed to be designed? you can't dodge what spawns right onto of you. A lot of players I'm matched with just DC or die on first hook to him and it's not because they're good killers it's just because its an irritating mechanic without it almost being an auto hit if the killer isn't stupid.
That is exactly how it is supposed to work. If the killer aims well you should get hit.
-
Nurse isn't as hard as people tend to believe.
New Dead Hard can be stronger than old Dead Hard.
-
Some killers have powers that allow them to do this more easily. Otherwise the best you can do is try to find a spot from where you can see both gates.
-
I play Hillbilly and other killers they don't see that often with builds that are either weak and require me to really outperform to win or that are more creative with perks that nobody runs.
-
I can understand that they want to implement the animations a bit more but this seems like something no one wanted and most actually dread.
