An honorable mention however would be a resident evil tyrant (perhaps mr. X or the nemesis), I'd love to be leon or chris getting chased by one of those horrifying things

Honestly, Dead by Daylight isn't supposed to be scary in the first place. And it definitely stops being scary after like 100 hours of playtime (unless you're a Blendette at heart).
If I were to choose anyone, I'd have to vote for Springtrap, aka William Afton. He is the main antagonist of the story afterall, and Springtrap himself is pretty creepy. He can also get skins for himself (Glitchtrap from FNAF VR, Molten Springtrap from the pizzeria simulator one), giving BHVR even more ways of gaining profit.
I also heard a fanmade theme for him if he were to be in DbD, and I gotta say that I LOVE how it sounds.
Hell yea man! Springtrap would be perfect for this game. I don't really understand why people say it would be silly or stupid or not scary, mean dead by daylight isn't scary anyway, and if you wanna make the argument that it would be silly you can forget it, we literally have an obese clown with an elephant suit that sucks on pinkies-

I hate that people don't FNAF the credit it deserves. It was actually really important in putting horror back on the map and introduced a whole new generation to horror with a very simple concept.
DBD isn't a horror game it's a horror themed game. A FNAF chapter would fit right in, and to be honest fits in better than a Silent Hill chapter (which i'm very excited for btw)
Whether people like it or not FNAF will become iconic in the world of horror.
I've been wanting pyramid head for over a year and genuinely never thought it would ever happen ;-; I cried when the trailer came out- i got back into silent hill bc of it too

This is an example of something that IS scary, and definitely could fit within DbD.

It wouldn't be horrifying because FNAF has no horrifying designs they all look too cartoony.
My guy, we have an obese man in an elephant suit and soon a bunny mascot outfit for the legions-

yeah the bear that came from the game thats for 10 year olds that think jump scares are high quality horror running around with freddy and Micheal sounds real cool.
Buddy lemme tell you right now, that game was not meant for ten year olds XD. You can make the argument that it has a very young following but scott did not intend it, for all I know he probably didn't even think the game would get all that popular

I've said it before, I'll say it again: FNAF relies on its atmosphere to be scary. The animatronics themselves are not scary outside of the jumpscare, and the jumpscare is only scary because it had the atmosphere making you dread "something" happening.
DbD does not have that atmosphere, and the game does not support jumpscares currently, as all stealth killers have audio cues that they're nearby (snarling, breathing, fabric flapping, a roar before the dash). Can you be caught off guard? Absolutely, I've freaked out at a GF grab before, but it's not baked into the game. And an animatronic strolling around at 4.6 m/s in the distance does not to me scream "scary."
It doesn't have to all rely on environmental horror, silent hill is also an atmospheric game, yet theyade pyramid head work, there are killers in dead by daylight with startling abilities as well, you can't imagine how many times I've squealed over a demo shredding right at me or an oni charging at me, that's scary as h*ll, lots of Indie developers have made fan games of fnaf that rely on you hiding and running away from the animatronic while having to complete objectives to win (the joy of creation: reborn). I'm bot saying they should do it, I'm not saying it's a good idea, but it's something interesting to think about

I'm just gonna say it how it is, this forum usually consists of killer mains requesting/suggesting buff ideas to killers and perks, or complaining about survivors' meta perks.
I'm not saying killer mains shouldn't voice their minds but it seems like the replies they get are usually tame and civil. people have a format of telling them "I don't agree with you and here is why..." and it's nice to see people have a substantial conversation. But if the post is regarding survivors, it gets kinda crazy.
For instance, if i made a post named "stop complaining about facecamping", I'd see general support in the replies from killers, maybe some survivors but mostly killers.
Now, if i made a post that said "Stop complaining about Dead Hard" or "DS is balanced". instead of them opening their mind, and looking at the other side's point of view, the replies lowkey get rude. some of the common replies you'll see are.
"found the survivor main lol"
"Survivors complain about everything."
"git gud"
"well dont run (Perk name(s)) then."
"But when survivors do it."
etc.
Look I'm not trying to call killer mains out or anything. This is just an observation I've made. If a discussion is about a perk or mechanic for one side, it's ok to make references to the other side, a good example of this would be "I understand that DS + Unbreakable is a really powerful combo, but so is Enduring + Spirit Fury." Or vice versa.
Not to mention when any form of toxicity is discussed of survivors, killers will support the OP, as they should. But when a survivor comes on the forums to talk about killers being toxic, there is always this mindset that ALL KILLER PLAYERS are saints, and that the survivor did something to insinuate that toxicity. Youtube is also making SWF seem like a toxic thing, because a few SWF wanted to be ######### and teabag. In a good half of my games, when the killer concludes I'm playing with friends, they behave like jerks just becasue we're SWF. That doesn't equal a bully death squad. We are just playing for fun.
Not to mention when a survivor is chasing the killer with a flashlight, it's seen as toxic. Maybe they're just trying to go for a flashlight save? Tru3 and Monto usually have some passive aggressive comments when they're in the process of being blinded or get blinded. I don't understand how trying to save a teammates makes me an ######### and ends up with me getting facecamped, but getting tunnel mori'd is completely fine.
Sorry for the rant, not calling out killer mains as a whole. I just don't feel as though my opinion as a survivor main matters as much as a killer main's opinion, it just sucks.
I kinda felt like that when I suggested that spirit had a badly designed power that creates gameplay of pure guesswork in a Livestream, I literally just got called a survivor main by chat without any attempt at a counter-arguement. I just don't understand why it's such a bad thing to like playing survivor over killer or have an opinion that clear problems with a killer should be addressed, to the point where even a good amount of killer mains even think the killer is just a little unfair

Once upon a time MM never changed. I am still matched with red ranks all the time. People may say ha, ranks has nothing to do with it well I think it does. With maintaining your red rank, you must win countless games. If you look carefully at their perks you can see the difference. Now look at my perks.
You can't just blame me for having a low level killer, I have lvl 40 killers too, I just don't want to play the same killers repetitively, I want to vary my choices. However when I vary my choices its more like I'm taking a risk going against red ranked survivors, the game wasn't fun and ended quickly, is this the outcome that you want for your players?
It's a little disturbing how many death squads I go against considering I'm only green rank, there's just nothing I can really do

Just to add a little more data
I recently started collecting stats for my personal benefit since I doubt we will ever see them offered in game.
I have recorded 14 survivor games so far.
My info: Solo, Red Rank, PS4, US Eastern, Play time is between 8pm-2am est.
Wait time is usually 10+ minutes
The killer rank for those 14 games:
1- Rank 14
4-Rank 13
1-Rank 11
2-Rank 10
1- Rank 5
2-Rank 3
3- Rank 2
What is your rank?

I'm on xbox one and it's been happening since the recent mid-season patch, which makes me suspect it's a bug in the game that's reversing the ranked matchmaking but I'm not sure, that's why I was wondering if others are having the issue. Hopes this clears things up a lil <3

Yup, one guy even told us he’s happy it’s free on Xbox pass because he’s never playing it again.
I don't blame him, pretty sure it's a glitch where the matchmaking gets reversed that got added in mid season patch but the devs haven't addressed it yet.. It makes it difficult for new players to get into the game and difficult for more experienced players to not get bored. Thing is the exact same thing happened when the stranger things chapter came out but it got patched waaaay sooner

Previously made one on killer perks, so here is the survivor perk installment. Again, best to worst is in order from left to right within tiers. Here are how the tiers can be seen in my perspective:
S - The "meta" perks, best of the best
A - Great perks, helpful in most cases or have potential to shake up the momentum in the match
B - Good perks, serve their purpose but are often overlooked for better perks
C - Mediocre perks, have a purpose but aren't preferred or are too situational
D - Bad perks, very minimal potential, in need of some QoL changes
F - Perks that need a rework/overhaul
New Player Perks - not being ranked as I feel these are perks are essential in acquainting new players with DBD. (Should not be teachables in my opinion)
Leave your thoughts below. Keep it peaceful & constructive. If you want to make your own, the link to my tierlist is:
https://tiermaker.com/create/dead-by-daylight-survivor-perks-patch-360-312922
Spine chill is very good because of stealth killers being pretty meta atm, but not S-tier good, unbreakable is much better, it can turn around an entire game in the survivor's favor and makes ds even more unfair than it already was. Spine chill and unbreakable should be swapped, putting unbreakable in mid-S and spine chill in high A
Breakout isn't good, you usually need to go out of your way to use it and you probably would habe to make a build around it too, and even if you do get it to work you probably needed a second person to help take hits, which means there's only one person doing a gen.
Dead hard should be high A. Though it's a great exhaustion perk when used for distance it's too situational when it comes down to dead hard for distance
Deliverance is too situational. There's a million other perks I'd recommend over this perk. I've had so many times where altruistic survivors or just getting found first made me never able to use this perk, don't use a perk you may not even have a chance of activating.
Self-care is crap. Sloppy butcher and nurse's calling being quite meta atm makes it even worse, running this perk is literally just sandbagging your team. The time it takes to self-care with sloppy you could've done half a gen, and you'll probably get injured shortly after anyway. Don't use self-care, just bring a med-kit
Small game isn't A-tier, it does its job but it isn't a perk that's going to turn the game around, it could be good against trapper or hag but there's way better things that can be used against them, and hunch does a better job at finding totems. Totems aren't all that hard to find anyway, you don't really need a perk to tell you where it is, thing about hunch is it tells you how many are left on the map, which small game doesn't do
Any means necessary is horrible, even the devs said that it's probably their next perk on the rework list because of how situational it is, a killer isn't going to leave up a good pallet for you to reset
Breakdown and distortion should be swapped, I can go on about why distortion is underrated and why I think it's B-tier at least but I can't be bothered
No mither is the worst perk in the game, period.
Object should be in S-tier, easily one of the most broken perks in the game atm, if a swf has object they basically have constant information to work with while you only have information about one
I don't think WGLF is F tier, it serves a purpose which is extra bloodpoints which who doesn't like bloodpoints? Though I think you should get a stack for healing someone a health state
Though stake out was way better during age of ruin, I still don't think it's F-tier, don't underestimate a perk that makes gens go faster.
Overall I think the tier list is very flawed, I mean it may make more sense if you said it was towards a certain rank but as a red rank survivor and a purple rank killer and a basic understanding of both sides and what they both go through I can see a lot of perks you put way too high and way too low.

Okay, so what happend is that this guy was hooked twice and the others a few times. So once all the gens were done after my 3 gen, this guy gets downed and mori'd from Rancor because I've never used Deathslingers mori. After the game he was telling me I may as well have brought a mori and complained about getting one shot by rancor, saying that at least a mori doesn't one shot him. Then he went on to calling me a baby killer and well, you can see the rest :^)
Imo rancor is kind of unfair, but he brought a key, so he can't really complain
And what even are baby perks at this point? Barbecue and Self care should not be put in the same category of being called "baby perks". One is clearly way better than the other, and imagine complaining about a perk that literally gives you double bloodpoints for doing your objective. So are baby perks time waster perks? Convenience perks? I'm really confused
-
@Deathslinger said:
Just a general thought I had and wanted to get some community feedback.
If survivors could see which killer was locked in their game, would they start dodging lobbies? Which killers would you avoid? Do you think they would bring in specific tools and perks to help them against a specific killer?
The only time I'd dodge a killer is if I've already played the killer several times or if it was plague and I wanted to do a healing build, but I could see a lot of people dodging spirit, freddy, ghostface, seeing they're considered to be the most annoying/boring killers to go against. And if they were to endure the pain those killers can bring, they'd probably bring iron will against spirits for obvious reasons, genrush stuff against freddy since he's known for his immense generator slowdown (despite the nerfs), and probably information perks, denial perks and healing perks against ghostface since a lot of ghost faces like to use sloppy butcher and nurse's calling to deny healing.

Find a survivor on a gen completely oblivious, enter shoulder grab animation for it to suddenly cancel and now im stuck in limbo and the survivor is already 15 meters away.
Even basic animation and latency priority has to prioritize survivors over killers even though killers are the ones making the decision to shoulder grab instead of going for a normal hit LUL
It doesn't prioritize survivors over killers xd I get hit through pallets and vaults all the time as a survivor. Latency clowns both sides bud, that's just dedicated for you

I can't stand the trapper. It's not that he's scary or anything I'm just a mediocre survivor so I have alot of trouble with his traps and how random the placements can be. I.e. I'll run to this loop because it's close, and now I've stepped in a trap amidst my panicked scurry 😑. But I love going against nurse. I play on PS4 and I have only ever run into maybe two console nurses that were actually any good.
My favorite killer might be oni. I love the tense feeling I get being chased by him, and not only that, but he can ruin your day if you're not careful. He's the only killer that actually gives me a sense of intensity and fear anymore and I love that feeling. He's just so great. Probably the best killer they have right now because he's altogether a great killer and he's fun for the survivors too. Both sides win!
Least favorite? I'd say spirit because versing her is less skill and more of just flipping a coin and hoping it lands on your side when it comes to "countering" Her, but since I don't verse a lot of spirits anymore I'd say probably ghostface. His stalk mechanic is broken and latency doesn't make it any better, and when some ghostfaces just sneak up on you in night shroud and hit you it's even worse because it's just plain boring. Then they run stuff like nurse's and sloppy so it makes it nearly impossible to heal, he's just a basic obnoxious killer that just injures, runs away, and saves you for when you try to heal. Wow how interactive
