  • I came up with my gamer name when I was about 12, I've actually been quite happy with it over the past decade+

I do agree, killers after just 1 game will know what to do with hooks and having them so close together is super annoying. I once asked in a dead by daylight live stream of wiggle could progress with how fast you press left and right. The answer they gave was quickly ushered out of the way and they moved on. I’m guessing the answer is that people can use macros to super tap the left and right keys and be off the shoulder within seconds. This is just not fun!.

I did take a clip of that if anyone wants to see it.

As for the wiggle mechanic in general, it is useless unless you have a team mate (or mates) who take a hit for you. Especially during the double blood weekend when most people are using Were Gonna Live Forever which means that if they take a hit for you while the killer carries you they get a stack for that perk.

"I’m guessing the answer is that people can use macros to super tap the left and right keys and be off the shoulder within seconds. This is just not fun!."

Have you ever seen or experienced this? I'm a killer main, but never in my entire time have I seen this happen either as a killer or survivor. Why are you making comments about something that I don;t think I've ever seen mentioned or anyone experiencing.

And yes, "wiggle mechanic in general, it is useless unless you have a team mate (or mates) who take a hit for you", that is the whole point of it. And as someone else stated, it's to stop killers walking halfway across the map to take you to the basement. And that I can confirm given that just today, I picked up a survivor who was on their 2nd hook who didn't wiggle at the start because they knew there were nearby hooks. The basement however, wasn't too far away out of wiggle time reach. However, since they were not wiggling, I did decide to take them to the basement which they could have easily escaped from being hooked in had they wiggled from the start.

You can give them one thousand alternative if you want and they'll still use selfcare if it isn't nerfed in some way.
Because not only does it have unlimited stack unlike medkit but it also negate the need of a teammate to heal you.
The only way to have people move out of selfcare is either to give them a perk that is even better than it or nerf it.
Self care as been meta since the game got released and it's time to stop.
The survivor meta is sooooooo [BAD WORD] stall
Having a game with even only one person not running it is like spotting an unicorn.

What if self care had a limit? For example, can be used to heal you for for 3 full health states? (obviously can't be used to heal from dying state still) Number could be tweaked slightly, but I feel like 3 or maybe 4 at most would be a good healthy number for it at rank 3 perk. Could increase as you level the perk up? e.g rank 1 could be 2 full health states, 3 for rank 2, 4 for rank 3. Also give it a small use bar on the side by the perk, to show much how much self healing power it has left? My thoughts with this is that you could heal yourself halfway to healthy, and then if you find a teammate, get them to heal you the rest of the way, and you'd still have 2.5 health state recoveries left. So it could be a small bar by the perk, with a 3 at the top, the bar depletes as you heal up one full health state. So say you get injure, you have self care, you have a tiny full white bar next to the perk with the number 3 on it. You start healing you self and the bar depletes going from 3 to 2.9, 2.8, 2.7 etc until it empties once you've healed yourself, it resets, then becomes full again with the number 2 at the top. The next time you're injured, you heal yourself halfway, then get another survivor to heal the rest of the way. Your bar is sitting there half full with the number 1.5 on it. You have 1.5 health states of self recovery left.

    Just my thoughts on it.

IMO I feel like Nurse/Billy are just too mobile and have too much map presence and have the easiest time in chases when they have some measure of competency. I really feel like they need nerfs/ changes so they can buff all the killers in general or do other changes to the game. I'd prefer that they just remove the stuns on Nurse make her move slightly faster and just give her one dash, with billy I'd just put a limit (20m) on his chainsaw dash, but give him easier turning. If they do this, they can make the maps smaller, put objectives closer and do changes to gens so they aren't rushed to give the killers time to respond.

Make nurse move faster and give her one dash? That would literally bring her significantly closer to just a standard m1 killer. One dash? Are you trying to almost completely kill the whole uniqueness of her? And a 20m chainsaw sprint? May aswell just play cannibal, because he would be almost the exact same, but better. Or just play the pig, because you're basically asking for the hillbilly to have the pigs ambush ability, except without stealth and 1 hit down instead. I don't know if you realise how short 20m is in the games map distance? Then you proceed to say that if they hugely nerf those 2 killers, they could make smaller maps? That would then be a significant buff to all other killers, and a nerf to survivors. I have no idea what you think would happen if they made the maps smaller and increased gen time. Survivors would actually get dominated, unless in turn you wanted every single character and mechanic then changed in response. In which case your basically asking for a DBD 2. Idk if you're a complete fool, of if you're just a young teen and really have no idea what you're on about.

The problem with rank rewards is that 1) ranks reset once a month which is way too often IMO, and 2) rank is not an actual reflection of skill more a reflection of time commitment. You don't have to be the BEST player to reach rank 1 on either side, just good enough to pip more often than you depip. Also it depends on the groups you play with. Me and my buddy are rank 1 survivors, but this month he hasn't played nearly as much as me bc of his kid. So I'm rank 1 while he is rank 8 or so right now. He is still technically a rank 1 level player, but he is at rank 8 because he just doesn't play much lately. Then we got like 4 other people we have been playing with 2 of which are brand spanking new players. When we start a lobby it's rank 1, rank 8, rank 3, and rank 20. Maybe 2 rank 20's. We end up getting rank 15 killers that only have a chance of getting kills if they catch the rank 20 guys first. If they find me or my buddy they will be chasing us all game. It's quite unfair, I will usually go out of my way to play fair, not rushing gens or using cheesey add-ons like BNP, just so the killer doesn't rage quit (though I'm sure when they look at the scoreboard at the end of the game they think to themselves "RANK 1! No wonder I couldn't catch that guy" or if they did catch me "RANK 1! And I caught him!" so maybe they feel a little good about that even if they lost I hope).

I completely agree, the current rank system is "okay" at best, they either need casual lobby's, or more work to improve the ranking system, IMO anyway.

Try playing the game for fun, because this is not a competitive game.

"Don't get me wrong, I still enjoy the game"
" I will have goals to climb back to rank 1 each season, and I will enjoy playing the game"

Did you read the whole post? I clearly stated that I was having fun, I do play it for fun. A contributing factor to fun in online games for me is the competitive side. If there's no competition, I find multiplayer games less fun than what I would than if they had competitive game modes. So yes, this whole time I have been playing for fun.

unless you have other circumstances, i wouldn't care about rank. like @TydeTyme has said, he keeps his ranks high only because of his 'how to' guides. its understandable. i wouldn't consider a rank 20's opinion as at all.... where as if a rank 5 - 1 said it, i would take it as legit.... so unless you're a streamer or make instructional videos, i'd just play in the rank you feel most comfortable....

I have been recording footage over the past 2-3 weeks, as I figured perhaps streaming or making DBD vids since I have hit that rank 1 killer, might be semi-successful.

Challenge yourself to reach rank 1 with a different killer. Maybe even a weak one as Wraith or Freddy.

Freddy is who I actually got to rank 1 with. Climbed from rank 10 to rank 1 playing him, even though the main reason I was bulk playing him was to use up all his add-ons and offerings before prestige'ing up(admittedly using all those add-ons and offering took so much longer than I expected)

And not a bad idea, although can currently just play multiple killers at my rank and maintain my rank while still playing those killers. For example, haven;t really touched huntress until the last couple of days. Have been enjoying her, and even though I haven;t played her much, I can still pip up with her at rank 1, so it kinda eliminates the challenge and question of whether my skill with other killers could compare. Plus I don;t necessarily want to play killers I don;t fin over fun either. Although I did do that with leatherface when playing him to unlock bbq and chilli, and I did get significantly better with him and learnt how to play him, but I still don't want to set myself challenges to achieve the highest rank possible with killers I don;t enjoy playing. I mean, i want to be somewhat decent at all killers, but also challenging myself and limiting myself to play pretty much for a whole killer just to try and reach a rank I know I could obtain with killers I enjoy playing doesn't sound overly appealing either.

  • Hey same! Although I went from rank 10 to rank 1 only playing freddy. Was actually only playing him to use up his offerings and add-ons before I prestiged him up tbh though xD.

  • I whole heartedly support the idea of having slenderman as a killer and hope the dev team consider this as a serious idea and see what they can do. Just the thought of being able to play slenderman as a killer in DBD makes me wanna jazz.
