Incapacitated prevents survivors from doing pretty much anything other than run from the killer and throw pallets down.
It should not be common.
-
Yeah. Uh, you do that.
-
Do not encourage the child.
-
DS was disabled because people were dicks with it. If someone with DS got to the exit gate, they would sit there and do what every single survivor does. Teabag. They would do it the entire time they were in there, and if you downed them and picked them up, they stunned you, Teabagged for the entire six seconds you were stunned, and leave. And they did this because the game was literally unwinnable as killer if this situation came up.
DS should have only been nerfed by removing its ability to be used during EGC explicitly to put a stop to this ######### behavior.
-
Kid, maybe you should have a talk with your parents about talking to strangers on the internet.
Maybe encourage them to not let you play games the ESRB rating says you shouldn't.
-
I already showed you a video of what you're talking about, and you responded by insulting me. Jump through your own hoops.
-
Proxy Camping is smarter than face camping because you're seeing more and can react to it.
Camping the basement entrance is smarter than face camping because you have more than a ######### second to respond to someone going for a rescue. Amazingly enough, more time to rev the chainsaw.
This should not need to be explained to anyone except for those that want killer players to have the threat level of a small toothless poodle.
Why are you playing a multiplayer game? It sounds like you would enjoy games where you're supposed to be able to win every time significantly more.
-
The devs decided that Incapacitated was too strong to use on anything except killer powers so that survivors can counter them.
I don't know if it's the right way to go, but I think it's working fine for now.
-
Ok, let me get my two cents in real quick.
MMR is trash. It basically doesn't exist, and I doubt I'm making the hottest take on the planet by saying that.
HOWEVER.
I recently started playing the game on the Switch
because I bought it on the switch for cross saves and it's obvious that it's not going to happenand I can say for certain that MMR does at the very least separate new players from veteran players. The problem comes from the fact that while as Killer you only have yourself to affect your rank, your rank as a survivor depends significantly on your team. And because the only thing that affects your rank is escaping for who the hell knows why, you're effectively caught in a spiral of constantly being paired with newer players while you have every perk unlocked.
Every once in a while the game screws up and you're faced with a damn good killer alongside rock for brain teammates, but it's pretty rare.
-
"Oh, well he wasn't face camping someone in the basement. And it definitely didn't have anything to do with the fact that face camping in the basement would have given people more time to rescue someone than if they camped at the entrance."
I am not jumping through any more of your hoops. You are wrong. End of discussion. Grow up.
-
"your made up statistics mean nothing lol"
My brother in christ.
I did not make these statistics up.
"Drat! They got rid of my husk with an item that isn't a medkit or toolbox! I feel so unfairly punished and this definitely impacts more than 1/10000 games!"
YOU DID!
-
"if you think I'm wrong about it having zero counterplay then please show me a video of survivors doing it :) you'll never be able to bc it's not possible :)))"

It was unnecessary and basically did nothing besides removing fun
Oh no, 0.01% of the games fun was removed.
Let's complain so loud that they give us the 0.01% of the games fun back.
You sound like a billionaire who saw a single penny he dropped be picked up by a homeless man.
-
"Just because the killer only has one objective left doesn't at all mean they should be able to secure it with zero effort and zero counterplay."
This person has no idea how difficult it is to defend a single spot from a team of good survivors.

If someone has calm spirit, then you still have a really good power in chase + tier 3 slowdown, you are just having trouble finding them. Also calm spirit, unlike sloppy, is not very popular in the first place. I play doctor from time to time and calm spirit never really bothered me. The problem is that sloppy renders 3 perks literally useless nowdays which bothers me since I'm really enjoying reactive healing + self care combo.
So there should be literally no counter to survivor perks, but killer powers being countered are completely ok.
-
Lore wise sure, but balance wise...look, I'm just gonna say, ya should have left when you had the chance.
Poor performance indeed.
-
Hmm...a TTV killer...

I don't think your perks should ever get hard countered just because someone bring something. Healing is not completely useless against plague, legion or broken. Broken is for some time, you still want to heal in endgame against legion and against plague you still need to pick people up from the ground... Those 3 weak perks are just doing nothing if hemorrhage is in play which is stupid. Also distortion should get nerfed in my opinion...
Doctor's abilities are mostly useless on a survivor if they just happen to have calm spirit.
Counters exist. If your build is countered, you take it and try to work with it.

nope. don't even like him very much. does he have a stance on the map thing? just saying what i think is true for once
His stance is basically the same as yours. Factured Cow Shed needed this, but they otherwise chose the wrong map to "fix".
Also tired of people that worship the ground Otz walks on saying someone is dumb when their opinion just happens to align with a different person.

Bought the switch version at least a year ago specifically because this was promised.
Still waiting.
-
"Please tell me exactly what spirit player was out here like "Drat! They got rid of my husk with an item that isn't a medkit or toolbox! I feel so unfairly punished and this definitely impacts more than 1/10000 games!""
If it only affects .01% of games, then I don't see how removing it is that big of a deal.
-
Yes. I, too, would like the killer to have the threat level of a toothless and particularly small poodle.
Camping should be a legitimate strategy when the EGC is happening, period. Some killers are simply better for it than others, and part of being a good survivor is knowing when to cut your losses. Also.
"I didn't say anything about making it impossible to camp in endgame did I?"
"I can understand the anti-camp system being disabled in endgame being more fair for the average killer, but that's not a luxury these other killers should get."
PICK ONE!
-
The problem with Skull Merchant is she's one of the weakest AND strongest killers in the game.
If you play the game similar to, I don't know, let's say Doctor, you have a power that probably won't do anything unless the survivor is really dumb. You have massive markers that say "Go here if you want to be one shotted" even if you're on another floor, and the power can't be used to predict where the survivor might be. It's just "Get off the loop or be weakened".
And that's if the survivor isn't injured. If they are injured, the power does basically nothing. Sure, you're alerted where the survivor is via instinct, but that doesn't do anything on most of the loops in the game.
The "correct" way to play Skull Merchant is to slap a drone on the three gens you can patrol the most quickly and refuse to leave them until half of the survivors are dead. Every generator minus those three can be done, you still get a 3k at worst. Which means the game gets dragged on and on and on and on, and no one wants to play the game for an hour hoping the other side screws up enough for you to win or just plain gives up.
-
His teleportation is louder than a car crash, requires a locker, and can potentially delay him if the locker is barred. It's also easy to accidentally fling yourself across the map because you picked the wrong locker.
-
No, you don't understand, it's important that killers vomit while playing the game or sacrifice a perk slot for something that otherwise does literally nothing.
It builds character.
-
Killers are specifically affected by the playerbase, unlike maps. If another Wesker tier killer is released, you'd alternate between getting a game fast and waiting dozens of minutes.
-
Unlike maps, which killer you face is decided entirely by what people are playing.
It's been mentioned before, if you don't want the same killer, then killers need to not also go against the same exact perks every single game.

And Soul Guard from Cheryl also when you have luck and killer has a hex active but the chances to have value out of it are not really high :)
Soul Guard + No Mither means killer can't easily camp you on the ground, as you also get a free health state to get away with.

I like the idea but the problem is when I play killer I would just go straight to shack and break it. They don't need to give us this perk, they just need to balance the pallets on the maps we have.
This is my biggest issue if this perk becomes a thing, actively going out and searching for pallets that will be the most annoying in the future.
The correct thing to do is to change the pallets so that they're at a much more reasonable number on the maps where they get into the 20's, not introduce a perk that makes maps with 8 pallets absurdly killer sided.
-
The fact that there is a debate around "Should people have a FoV slider/have a better FoV so that they don't vomit playing a ######### video game" is pathetic when the obvious answer is "Of course they should".
Having a slider would make the game worse? Then change the standard.

How many non-swf teams are “efficient”? By the time people realize what’s happening, someone has probably wasted time going to the hook, opened a chest, done a totem etc.
This sounds more like a "My teammates are stupid" problem than a "The other side is too op" problem.
-
I'd say yes just because I'm tired of people bitching that I tunnelled them out of the match after they body blocked for their rescuer to the point of standing in a doorway.
As if that's a fair complaint in the slightest.
-
If Bubba is face camping in the basement and he gets more than a 1k
then I'm sorry my friend
but that's on you and/or your team.
Basement also does not need to be changed. It should be a place you want to avoid for a damn good reason.
-
I wouldn't even bother talking to this guy anymore, he thinks that having an FoV slider is the exact same thing as the game suddenly teaching you the Magic of Friendship™.

DBD isn't a casual party game.
But assuming it is, why not just make call of brine regress gens by 600%? It's a goofy, fun, unbalanced perk. Why shouldn't DH make you invincible for the remainder of the trial? That's just goofy and fun, isn't it?
"Fun Casual Party Game" does not mean "Only one side gets to have fun".
Any game where your side can lose because the map decided it wanted to generate a massive dead zone everywhere/loop after chained loop after chained loop for 3/4ths of the map is not exactly what I would call a competitive game.
-
Holy god, who the hell cares?
Hey, I used stretched res. Ya know why? Not because "I wanna see over the walls" bullshit, it's because I have a 1680 X 1050 monitor. Guess how little I care that I have black bars on my screen now?
Not everything is about treating the game like your life depends on it! Sometimes it's about people that want to enjoy the game that can't, and arguing against that is repeatedly proving to me you're just a gate keeper who can't handle someone who might want to play the game but can't because they're going to vomit.
Stop arguing to gatekeep the game from people!
-
So the comparisons can be made as such.
Dead Hard vs. Off the Record
Unlimited time vs. Limited time
Can't be cancelled vs. Cancelled with certain actions
Can be waited out or Mind Gamed vs. Must be brute forced
Which you see is worth more I imagine would depend mostly on your skill to time a button push/keep an eye on the killers actions and how willing you are to deal with potential latency issues.

If u want the game changing benefit, yes. Same as bamboozle. If it was pure accessibility, I would have 0 issues.

And I agree visual terror radius should get a limit to reflect auditory terror radius. Current issue is with Onryo and the fact, that visual TR gives substantial advantage. Use transparency when even "healthy" people get advantage and problem is solved. Otherwise make early warning system bound to a perk (same as using spine chill).
Anyway, spine chill gives also other benefits that are not just about visual TR. I presume you would not be happy if whole perk became basekit for all survivors instead (action speed bonuses included). This is same thing (actually it's worse, because spine chill bonuses just make game harder for killer, but do not reduce overall killer's agency + can be easily split to be non-issue)
It's such a big game changing benefit that nobody uses it unless they absolutely have to so they don't vomit.
Stop arguing against people that want to just enjoy the game and not feel ill! Seriously!
And stop arguing "You wouldn't be for it if it only benefitted survivors", you just look like an ass!

If there was no perk with the name of shadowborn, I would agree with you. But the perk is there.
If it needs some tweaking, then sure. I am all for making the perk better.
But it's just not true that the minority of people who has this problem are just forced to suffer (because once more - shadowborn exists + so do other killers that are less problematic in this regards). In fact I rather see majority of people that want to simplify (AKA spoil) the game just to get additional advantage.

If stretched res somehow prevented people from getting sick, I wouldn't give a ######### because it stops people from getting sick!
Your argument does not hold water because I actually care if other people are having problems with the game through no fault of their own!
But please keep trying to convince me that FoV, Stretched Res, and learning the magic of color are the same thing.

Is someone really saying Blight is too weak?
-
"-One random generator is fixed automatically"
Oh boy, I can't wait to have to deal with people purposefully getting into a chase immediately after hook so they can get an entire gen.

Not everyone is you.
You should be old enough to know this.

Looks like I have to repeat myself.
Most people don't suffer from this. And people that do have options - like shadowborn or taking slower killer.
But even if this wasn't the case, the game still can't be 100% inclusive, because the game would suffer (in this case by limiting options what people can do in game).
Why are motion sickness people that just refuse to take shadowborn prefered over underage audience? Why won't the game change to tom&jerry style run&catch game? That way you could include young people/people with low tolerance to violence. The game would loose it's soul, but it would be even more inclusive (with a lot fewer players).
Comparing someone literally getting sick because of an easy to fix problem to "Let's just make it kid friendly" just shows you don't have a real argument.
BHVR didn't have to make the game not give players seizures, but they realize there are people with epilepsy that like the game.
They didn't have to put something in for changing the colors in the game, but they realize there are color blind people that like the game.
They didn't have to implement the heart from the mobile version, but realize people that are hard of hearing like the game.
Amazingly enough, with the exception of the visual heart not being put in the game yet, none of these break the game in a players advantage, and I have a strange feeling the heart won't make the game absurdly easy for survivors either.
There is no reason FoV can't be adjustable or at least changed to a more reasonable degree for people that don't want to vomit.
-
Here's what's happening in your brain when a too-low (or too-high) FOV makes you feel headachey or motion sick.
Literally the first sentence in this article is
"The FOV slider is the single most important graphics option in gaming by at least one metric: it can literally stop a game from making you feel sick."
I am not pulling this out of my ass!!! This is a real thing!!!!!
