  • Who does this hurt most?

    Nurse? No.

    Blight? No.

    Spirit? No.

Any killer with decent mobility? No.

The reason why I am against so much anti-tunnel being added to the game is that it literally only hurts already weak killers like Pig, Trapper, Freddy, Ghostface, etc. These killers literally need to tunnel to make up for the fact that they are bad. It is the only chance they have to win against decent teams and changes like this destroy that chance. DS + OTR makes it almost impossible already.

That's exactly because there are NO comeback mechanics in this game, so 2v1 is a lost game, and there is nothing left for each survivor to do but to wait the other one to die and get the hatch.

Many survivors do this simply out of spite. Meaning even if there is a comeback mechanic, they will still hide to simply waste the killers time because they are salty. I see your intention but it still allows them to take the game hostage

  • Still broken. Ruined my favorite killer, impossible to play because the muscle memory I learned over the course of a year of maining him means nothing. Thanks BHVR, I'll be following this thread to know when to install the game again.

  • Good idea. Let's also give survivors godmode, let them no clip around the map, and let them stun the killer for 20 seconds if they dare to pick them up. Those are all fine changes because F those evil tunnelers. If I'm going against a Trapper (a killer who very badly requires tunneling in order to consistently win) then I can rest assured that anything I may have is completely 100% fair because that killer just shouldn't have tunneled me. Easy as that.

As I said after the "FINALLY…" world (in the previous reply)!!

So you did admit your playing style is dirty? If so, you wasted their time for connecting the match with you, because you did not invite them to participate in the game, so they also have the right to retaliate, they are willing to waste their time just to make you too. feel as annoyed as they were at the beginning of the game.

About "bannable offense" list, it's just a matter of listing at BHVR's discretion!! In this situation, it's about the emotional side of the game. Just like in real life, in a friendly card game, you are constantly forced to lose by 3 other players. Although it is not forbidden, you will feel like you are not "entertained" in the game. Not being able to enjoy the game properly, and you may have the mentality of trying to sabotage the match.

Again, if you can't kill in fair play, it's about your skill, don't blame the survivors when they also react in the negative ways.

    Hmm…

I would like to repeat what I have mentioned in previous reply here:

"If someone is so afraid of death that they don't dare to do anything, then play killer, and in reverse, if someone is afraid of not being able to kill someone without camping or tunneling, then play survivors."

I mean, you should play survivor instead. If you encounter a few situations similar to this, you will understand why.

ok next time I play killer and the survivors are doing gens very fast I will bodyblock one of them in the corner until the server dies because they didn't let me play the game long enough due to their very fast objective speed and that will be perfectly fine thank you for the advice

Then just call it griefing and not holding the game hostage my strict ahh brain will pull an "umm ackshually" otherwise. I CAN'T TAKE INCORRECT FACTS! Anyway, if we wanted a solution to that, we could potentially have something where bubbles will appear on both survivors every 30 seconds or so if no one progresses a generator for enough progress. Another idea I had in mind was having the hatch spawn at two survivors but only one survivor could open it to escape while the other one is immediately sacrificed, making it a race between the two to see who can escape first. If the killer camps it, you can do gens while they're busy. If they stop camping to chase someone who comes near it, you can make use of that opening to get to the hatch and leave. I know there's the whole issue of "but people will just slug at three people". People have already been doing that before with the last survivor spawning hatch thing and this new system with three survivors being slugged will be harder to do than with having only two people left and slugging them. If they're able to get a slug going at three people, something was done wrong on the survivor end as you're able to not let a killer do that.

Devs call it taking the game hostage, so I'm going to call it the same.

  • @FilthyLegionRevival said:

Not holding the game hostage. It may suck when it happens because it's annoying looking around for survivors skulking around like roaches but it's not holding the game hostage like a killer blocking a survivor in a corner.

They said you did "camp at the start", really? If you did that, so it was your fault, don't blame why they held the game hostage. You acted as a bad killer, so they reflected your playstyle.

    HOWEVER…

If you well played with the e-sports spirit, I totally agree with you, they should be stopped somehow. I also met so many matches like that where I did a good play but they acted like cowards (only hide as you said, do nothing, even from the beginning, they just ignore their teammates).

A good game is where the killers don't try to camp and tunnel just to secure at least 1 kill (from the beginning), and the survivors never ignore teammates, always try to finish their jobs even in tough situations, not try to do endless hiding.

When playing as a solo survivor, I also hate teammates who act like cowards, especially in the late game. Sometimes, I luckily match with the killers who understand that kind of situation, and they gift mercy to me who trying to do gen while killing the cowards who only hiding somewhere.

    FINALLY…

The trash killers should be prevented somehow, and the cowardly survivors should also be prevented somehow.

If someone is so afraid of death that they don't dare to do anything, then play killer, and in reverse, if someone is afraid of not being able to kill someone without camping or tunneling, then play survivors.

    😏😏😏😏😏😏😏😏

trying to justify the other side committing a bannable offense because the killer did something that many see as a "dirty tactic" is insane.

camping serves a purpose and it progresses the game. holding the game hostage does not.

imagine if you cut me off on the road and in return I slashed your tires, wouldn't be a problem I guess because im just reflecting your rudeness

you can’t punish immersive gameplay, they’re literally playing the game as intended. hiding from the killer. it’s is your job to find them.

there is a difference between hiding from the killer to not get caught and hiding from the killer to purposely waste their time while you are doing nothing productive in the match

this opinion has been brought up many times and each time the devs say its bannable behavior

They were in the wrong for messaging you, you were also definitely acting childish for, "grown man btw i checked".

Realistically, what do you want them to do? There's no way they can win, they'd be throwing to work on gens. They're playing to win via getting Hatch. It's a ######### mechanic that promotes bad gameplay and there needs to be something else.

I viewed his profile to report him and his details were there. All I saw was his age and gender. Pointing out that a grown man was acting so petty does not mean I am childish.

Killer doesn't have comeback mechanics? Have you ever gotten a 2k getting another person downed while camping the hook in endgame collapse? You've never done a mass slug play when all gens are done and got at least 2-3 people that way, really?
You don't count NOED in your book that would by your logic also not count any perk complained about on any side ever, but there are others valid in this book of yours like No Way Out and Blood Warden that can absolutely make total losses into 2ks or more.

On the survivor side, tell me the mechanic or perk that will enable a 3 man escape in a 3v1 at 3+ gens remaining. Or how does more than 1 survivor at best escape in a 2v1 where the exit gates aren't already powered? I need to know.

Alright, I'd like to keep this on topic so I'll say this. I do think that there should be a mechanic that gives survivors a chance if there are only two of them left with 3-5 gens remaining. I know how miserable that feels, I've had it happen in a lot of my solo q games.

But my point is that there needs to be a mechanic that stops survivors from prolonging the game because they want to troll you.

Even if there were a mechanic which gave survivors a fighting chance in situations like this, lots of them would still just hide and do nothing out of spite, either because they don't like how you played, or because they're just salty in general.

  • @Pulsar said:

Lot of childish behavior from both parties here.

Survivors need a catch-up for the late-game, not sure what form that'd take, but once there's two Survivors the game isn't winnable.

I don't really understand how this is me acting childish. The survivors were holding the game hostage. I am making a post saying that BHVR should implement something to fix it because I am sick of having to wait half an hour in a match because the survivors refuse to participate out of spite

  • im not gonna sugarcoat it this killer is dogshit, the hitbox is the size of my toenail and if a survivor is moving erratically it is literally impossible to snipe them from range because of the travel time + the hitbox as I mentioned. the only time you will ever snipe a good survivor is if you get lucky. then you get genrushed because of his craptastic map pressure. people who say hes good are either going against horrible survivors who dont look behind them or they are just delusional end of story

I know this is a month old, but an incentive will not lesson tunneling. It will just help the killer mains that are arelady good without it, and do nothing towards killers that actually tunnel.

    I have now realized that

He should absolutely never ever ever be 115%. Maybe im just low mmr but i won my last 28 out 30 games with slinger. He incredibly strong in chase in my opinion with the only weakness being bad map pressure. I'm find his time to down more so make up for it. i love Pyramid Head for the same reasons. How often are you hitting your shots with him? and how long u been playing him?

Yes, exactly, let's nerf tunneling to the ground and then balance the game from there. Gen speeds and all.

Tunneling a player to death at 5 gens FEELS like breaking the intended gameplay loop. The main reason survivors hate it so much is because it feels like cheating to get a cheap win. It is frustrating, boring and often feels uncounterable. Many killers here have also commented that they themselves feel like it is boring to do, but they "must" do it to secure a win. Here lies the main problem.

When killers spread hooks and focus on chases, the matches feel more balanced i.e. "playing the game as intended". That's why it puzzles me sometimes that tunneling is considered a valid strategy by the devs. Kill rates aside, the quality of matches overall would be so much better if this was addressed.

I dont see tunneling as a problem because the survivors are doing their objective as fast as possible, so the killer will as well. nerfing tunneling into the ground and balancing the game from there will just result in a heavy survivor sided experience . survivors are doing their objective as fast as possible, killers will do their objective as fast as possible as well. if you "nerf tunneling to the ground " you would have to make gens take like 160 seconds to complete. which will never happen.

  • yes, perfect, lets keep nerfing tunneling because doing the opposite (playing nice and going for mixed hooks) is TOTALLY a reliable way to win against teams who are even remotely efficient on generators. I dont know when people will understand, you cant play "nice" against a good team unless you're playing nurse,by the time you get your 4 separate hooks 3 gens are done .

Yeah I’ve not really been having any fun playing her current iteration. She’s just kind of clunky and unappealing.

Everything she has is mediocre. Her stealth isn’t good. Her slowdown is easily countered. Her chase power is gimmicky etc.

I agree, I can have fun with other weak killers because at least you can use their power even if it sucks, I can use pig traps, I can use trapper traps, I can use myers stalk... but when a killer has a power that never ever works that's not even frustrating anymore... is just boring

  • title, I have really nothing else to say because its pretty self explanatory... sadako has nothing. tapes useless because there is no consequence for the survivor holding them, no benefit for you at all. teleport useless, tv will always be off because survivor will always take tape because there is no consequence for doing that, and teleport animation still takes forever. stealth useless because lullaby. phasing useless because it is too short and survivors dont fall for it. condemn useless because of how hard it is to build and how piss easy it is to remove. ive had 5 survivors remove their tape right in front of me because the animation takes one second... who's decision was that? who decided that its fun, interesting gameplay for the killer to watch their progress be removed in 1 second? oh and ur mouse 1 killer with 0 chase potential. I think we did a pretty good job so far

This is a bad take and I always see it in Threads like this. We know from the past that incentives just dont work.

We had an incentive where people claimed it would reduce tunneling and camping - BBQ-Stacks. However, an incentive does not work when the person can still get the incentive despite not playing like it was intended to get it. BBQ obviously was intended to motive the Killer to go for different Survivors. Yet, they still could get full Stacks when tunneling. Which nullifies the incentive.

Tunneling is the best way to win the game as Killer. Reducing it to a 3v1 early is a guaranteed win. And it is also easier than going for new targets all the time. And once the game is an early 3v1, the Killer can basically just farm points for themselves, because they won.

An incentive to remove tunneling would need to be stupid strong so that Killers will basically win every game with ease without tunneling. This is simply not realistic. An incentive would only work if the problem for it (in this case - tunneling) is also nerfed heavily. And this is probably not going to happen.

"an incentive would only work if the problem is also nerfed heavily"

which is exactly what needs to happen, make insanely good incentive for not tunneling and punish those who do

just because its probably not going to happen because the devs dont understand their game doesn't mean it wouldn't fix the problem

literally just give some decent at least gen regression/blockage/slowdown when mixing hooks and you have your incentive which would work well

but, if you dont agree with me, that's fine, I dont really feel like arguing with another internet stranger right now

  • until they actually give a basekit incentive to play nice then that's going to continue to happen

  • @ShinobuSK said:

Its not even funny how long this bug is in the game now. I completely stopped playing Pinhead because of the bugs and he used to be my fav killer. Thx bhvr, take your time

same. I used to play him all the time he was my favorite. used to get crazy hits with the chain but not anymore. it just completely goes against the muscle memory I have from many hours of playing him

  • I think most of it comes from people who are mad they got insta downed and one hook killed endgame. Not going to pretend like I don't understand their frustration, but the perk is not OP or anything. It's a good killer perk, but the way in which it is good makes people angry sometimes. I think it is fine as is.

But if survivors keep running Adrenaline, Off the Record, Lithe, Windows, Dead Hard, Unbreakable, and other strong perks, I will continue to use my NOED.

I know many will say that NOED rewards you for losing all generators, and that may be true, but look at every good/ meta survivor perk right now. Every one, besides Dead Hard and Deliverance, rewards you for playing bad/gives you a second chance/ gives you something with very little input needed, just like NOED.

All decent killer perks have some sort of requirement. Pain Res, Pop, No way Out, Surge, all require you to down/hook someone. But I will not pretend there are not some like Deadlock, Ultimate Weapon, and NOED which give you good value for doing very little. Besides Ultimate Weapon I think that's fine. And that perk is getting changed soon anyways. It's OK to have a couple perks as killer where you don't have to do much to match the endless amount of survivor perks which require little effort too. Besides, sometimes NOED is one of the few things holding up weak m1 killers like Pig, Ghostface, and Wraith. If you reach endgame with those killers and everyone has adrenaline and you do not have NOED then you're pretty much done for.

  • yeah it actually destroys her, she literally relies on getting the surprise hit, without it she has nothing

If I had to guess, it's because there's just always been something really intensive on the roadmap. Anniversary, Project W, now they're working on the finishing mori system because as Telltale puts it, [Everybody disliked that.] With Christmas coming up, it might be a while yet before there's any time they can dedicate to her.

But yeah, Sadako desperately needs help for all of the reasons you listed. Seems like her overly cautious mori mechanic seriously gated how much power they were willing to give her. I still can't believe she has a lullaby. I thought Pig was a bad stealth killer because she had map props that told you who it was at the start of the game, but damn, her stealth looks good compared to Sadako's.

all it takes is a number change to the tp cooldown its not that time consuming but yeah its still ghastly

  • also I didn't even mention shes just a mouse 1 killer with barely anything to help in chase
