Yeah the net code is a huge issue as well, it was bandaid fixed to make this game hosted on servers rather than peer-to-peer and was never fixed. I'm assuming it'll be redone with the coding overhaul, but not only will that be another year (if they release it on time), but fixing the net code alone won't fix the issue.

Even with decent net code, many players in the US and Europe will still be stuck on 70-100ms, with a lot of other players being stuck anywhere between 100-250ms because BHVR does not have any servers near their country. This game is incredibly ping dependent, it literally bottlenecks your capabilities. Especially if they want the graphics and coding overhaul to be a big deal and bring in a lot of new players, they absolutely need to fix both the net code and the amount of servers to actually keep those players.

Look up what rollback netcode does it would most likely solve most ping related problems if implemented correctly

  • This game needs some kind of rollback netcode it would really help alleviate higher ping players and make the game much more responsive and less about who lives closer to the server

  • Ever since its removal event bloodwebs have been ruined because you're trying to put cakes in normal raritys causing massive disruptions like not being able to farm high rarity addons during events and getting less event items than the past since the event items share slots for generation with purple items now
Even if its just for items/offerings for events brining this back would fix the bloodweb issues that come up every event that didn't exist until event rarity was removed

Here’s the reality of why neither sides’ meta can change:

Survivors: even with meta builds and swfs taken into account, survivors still lose 6/10 games.

Killer: even with meta builds and swfs taken into account, killers still win about 6/10 games.

So the question you have to ask yourself is what is an acceptable win/loss ratio for killers to have? Keeping in mind that harshly nerfing survivors would result in even more losses/undesirable games.

Why is it all about win loss ratio's with you people the game should be balanced enough where the better player wins and it simply isn't

I don't think inflating the bloodpoint economy even further is a good idea. The game is still suffering from the last BP inflation updates.

Back then, bringing strong addons or items was something few people did on a regular basis. These strong items weren't so readily availible for a majorty of players, so you'd think twice before using one of them.

Nowadays, almost everyone has literal stacks of iridescent addons and the like.

While I do agree, that the grind is really bad, it's by far not as bad as it's been. Maybe we've already gone too far and addons and items are no rarity anymore. Then, however, I have to ask: do we even need offerings like the black ward anymore?

The economy is dead and its been dead since 6.1.0 the whole concept of it was you never gained enough bp in a match running your killers best addons to regain them even at level 50 now as long is its not double iri you can get enough bp to run as much of your best addons as you want as long as you reinvest if you have a decent stockpile buffer to account for bad rng
Having it like this now makes the progression worthless and prevents the devs from making strong but rare addons while in the past you actually got rewarded with cosmetics and strong addons and offerings by grinding allowing the game to be more casual since you could run whatever flavor of bullshit your side had for 1 match and basically win the progression is at the point where I question why it even exists and why we dont just have infinite addons since there is no friction preventing you from running your killers best addons unless they happen to be double iri
The progression in dbd needs a serious overhaul because at this point its basically grinding to grind

The last year has truely shaken my trust with the devs to the point where i have little to no hope left when it comes to new updates. The falloff BHVR had going from 2024 a great year to 2025 an atrocious year HAS to be studied.

There was no falloff this game has always been crappy for 10 years they have promised us bright new futures many times and if you still believe them you're going to get the rug pulled out from under you when the patch actually drops there is no reality where dbd will ever live up to its potential and actually be good as long as BHVR still owns the game

  • We already had this it was the original version of borrowed time and it was stupid we don't need to repeat a mistake from 2016

Literally no one wanted dash slop Myers, idk what they were thinking with this rework, by far the worst rework they have ever done.

Half of the morons on here literally were in favor of it and if you give BHVR and inch of positive reception on a dogshit update they will push it through same thing happened with clown horrible update but some people who never played clown in their life said they liked it and it went through even though reverting it would be just number changes

  • I wish 2v8 was deleted it is one of the worst things in the game right now I have no idea how there is such demand to play a mode so stacked in the survivors favor by killer players they had a chance to basically make a new dbd in a sense with 2v8 and they completly bungled it I was very optimistic when it came out and now I uninstall the game for 3 weeks when it comes around if it came around 2 times a year I wouldn't mind but having 2v8 come out every 3 months is exhausting with minimal changes every time it feels like an afterthought to milk casuals who somehow enjoy it

  • If you like the killer not for the core design but for exploits its liable to get patched they aren't going to rebug it
You should be lobbying for changes to his core design which is dogshit and has been shored up by exploits since he came out not begging them to rebug it which wont happen just look at oni

Like I'm really curious about this. The game is almost 10 years old with so many players who say since years that the event offerings are terrible. They only work during the event and only work on yourself.

The only "event" that gave us good offerings are the anniversary offerings that are just better Bloody Party Streamers and even with them they started to nerf them by making them more rare each year during the event. We don't even know if we get this year any because the last Twisted Masquerade was the final one and maybe this year the event is completely different.

So again my question why do you guys hate event offerings since years and repeat to ignore criticism?

There has been cake offerings since year 3 anniversary (before the Twisted Masquerade came out) so yes there will be cakes this year even though the event gameplay will be something else the cakes being more rare is also due to them getting rid of event rarity short-sightedly and now cakes have to share rarity with other items making them more rare

there's criticism with a little spice and then there's this. this is just mean.

The devs deserve 100% of the ######### they get for everything about this game most of them should be unemployed with how bad they do their jobs

This is something that got discussed a lot and it was something that we spoke about on the forums, we never intended making this a big thing where people feel they need to strive for P100, it's more of a nice to have for people who have been able to invest the time into a character. If it was a cosmetic it would definitely feel more "valuable" and a must have for want of a better word (also could be problematic for licences etc), which is definitely not intended with prestiging a character.

This is not a nice thing its more insulting than if you just gave us nothing forever don't tease rewards and then deliver something completely useless and irrelevant since people already see your p100 at the end of the game
P100 should've never released if you were never going to reward players meaningfully for their dedication

    • Ranked mode will never work and implementing it would be a waste of time
    • Dbd simply doesn't have enough players to support proper or even simple ranked bracketing while maintaining good ping which is necessary for competitive integrity
    • A majority of people who play this game aren't actually interested in a ranked mode they just want to keep perceived "sweats" basically anyone who actually knows how to play the game out of their matches
    • For this reason it would most likely be dead on arrival and no way BHVR would make good enough balance changes to keep current comp players engaged with the official mode and they would just go back to their custom games leaving ranked dead within a week of launch
    • Comp/ranked dbd is niche and trying to integrate it into the main game instead of just choosing a casual or competitive balance direction would be a waste of time
  • To all the people saying clown isnt buggy you are just wrong
His flip knives no longer flip
The pink bottle radius is roughly 50% less of what it should be and it expands too slowly
You can't tap m2 to throw a bottle instantly anymore there is just a random weird delay
His bottle throwing arm is broken and it jiggles around like a broken mess
I wouldn't be surprised if he has a broken animation still since all of his animations broke on the patch where they tried to make all killers look down when vaulting

  • Clown bottles have incorrect spread but no one cares about that either

  • Where was this energy with Freddy, Ghostface, Nemesis, Pyramid Head and Leatherface lol

You are kinda right with the grabs, but you are missing the point.

The door is a great map pressure tool and the security room grab is just a nice gimmick. Correct. But thats the intention. Getting reliably downs with that, would be insane. The grab with the axe is also just nice to have.

So, you are right, they just there to give the killer some flair.

But thats ok, bc you get a killer with good map mobility, undetectable and a strong chase ability.

Yes, the axe is a strong chase ability.

    1. Your goal is not to grab them. Most of the time you recall the axe to throw again.
    2. You switch to 115 when the axe is thrown, so throw it somewhere and recall it later.
    3. When your next to the survivor you throw instead of hitting bc you want a shorter attack cooldown.
    4. Close range its the same as huntress.
    5. You can see survivor behind walls with the axe.
    6. You can do some insane shots above walls, but they need a lot of practice.

The security room grab its the only way to get deviousness points clearly it was intended to happen a lot unless all those brutality score events for using the power are supposed to be deviousness

  • He also gets no chaser emblem since it seems like axe hits and grabbing when the axe in their back doesn't count for it

  • Where is the website were we can see our stats?

  • It says a lot about how many people don't understand this game from how much this got downvoted.

Killers tunnel for one reason, lack of pressure. That can be for many reasons bad early game playing, a weak killer split spawns survivors brought 4 toolboxes and gen perks etc. BHVR should address why so many people feel the need, real or imaginary, to tunnel instead of nerfing it and obliterating the low-mid tier player base that already struggles with so many other things and, by proxy, pushing more players to the top 5 killers.

Tunneling is also not some low skill maneuver that people think it is. It's a calculated risk that you will be able to down and rehook the survivor you're tunneling through any possible anti tunnel perks faster than chasing another survivor. If you tunnel at the wrong time, you will lose in macro at the same time. If you leave 4 survivors alive for the majority of the game, and you're not playing top 5, you will still lose in macro.

Isn‘t that a good thing in the long term if some killers struggle for now?

Behavior will have to buff affected killers and the game will overall become more enjoyable for both sides. Isn‘t that a good thing?

No, not really. BHVR takes so long to do simple NUMBER buffs to low tiers it would take them forever (by my estimate, at least 5 years) to manually balance every low-mid tier to a playable level of strength against opponents with a brain and good builds if they give survivors more basekit tools vs tunneling.

I would encourage anyone without experience doing so to play a c tier killer or below in the high mmr bracket.

  • I used to play ghostface and myers quite a bit from 2019-2021 now they are so weak they are just unpleasant to play for me

  • As someone who was there, I'd rather go back and play year 3-5 with all its issues and endgame ds than the current game. Years 6-9 have been one step forward and 100 steps back. They could've made the game genuinely amazing in this time, and they failed in terms of balancing bugs, performance, gameplay innovation etc. They blatantly don't care about making a good pvp game, instead only caring to hand hold the majority of players, so they spend money in the store instead of making the game a truly skilled comp experience or so casual the biggest sweats cant be bothered to care about winning.

  • Still is not fixed :(

  • It being anything that's not a skin of some sort makes 0 sense to me when they have been working on it so long. If it was a png, we would probably have it by now unless they are trying to negotiate with licenses.

Ideally, the reward would be a full outfit and if it only comes to certain or 0 licenses, I would be fine with that because I rather have a full outfit than something lame as the reward for such dedication, even if I don't personally get it.

I could also see them doing a weapon and 1 piece for survivors' torso head idk for the people already complaining about potential lobby dodging. Just don't use it or accept that you will be dodged by some players or hot swap at 6s.

If I get anything but some sort of skin for p100, I will be seriously let down and pissed because of the amount of dedication and time I put into getting p100.

  • The current Freddy still isn't like the character of Freddy Kruger is gameplay wise and somehow, at least for me, has more boring gameplay than the last version. Shooting a projectile which is basically a 50/50 for an unimpactful hinder is uninspired and not interesting at all, not to mention the stripping of elements like stealth, because clocks are so available and old pallets are lost. I was really hoping for a modernized version of the original release (basically just improved dream transition with a creative chase power) so we could have a version that feels like Freddy back in the game. The current power could be redone for any original and no one would know it was supposed to be a power for Freddy. Balance wise I think he will need buffs once people figure out the counterplay.

  • I always thought they were fine people are only complaining about them more now because they are bugged and show for about 3-4x times longer than normal

  • Its not the absolute best build but I've been enjoying corrupt batteries included pop and surge batteries helps alot when you have to chase outside your 3 gen if you reset/set a trap under its effects you also get 14.5% speed boost which is amazing

  • @TragicSolitude said:

Well, you're saying that everyone wants to play killer, including yourself. Why is it you don't want to play survivor? If even the queue bonus isn't enough, what would you change so that more people would play survivor?

I can't speak for all killer players, but I rarely play survivor because it is more boring. It's not about the outcome or how killers play, it's the simple fact that, while playing killer, I get to be in chase nearly all the time and, as a survivor, I have to wait to play the game while doing various chores around the map, which I find boring killer is just the more engaging role.

  • I can't speak for all of NA, but the system changes, like base kit endurance off hook 10s, longer hook stages anti-camp and gen perks getting nerfed makes the environment of the game much worse and pushes more people towards playing the top 5 killers. Playing a weaker killer at this point is a waste of your time. All these changes have been made for casual survivor players, yet there has been 0 consideration or positive changes for more serious players like myself or even casual killer players.

  • @Gandor said:

Boy legion is going to be THE noob stomper. He was already bad, but with those buffs…

Freddy, across all 3 versions, has been the biggest noob stomper ever. There's a reason he was in top 5 kill rate even post nerf for the original rework.

  • @Massquwatt said:

Yeah I really dunno about these changes. The recent Freddy changes were great because you guys kept everything about the previous Freddy and made him better, with this there's almost nothing left from the previous Skull Merchant. While this is more a "vibes" sorta thing I think it's a very weird direction for a killer that relies on monitoring and information to turn her drones into mini bombers and is really off-brand for a killer like her? In my mind at least it'd make more sense if her drones acted more like Singularity's pods where you could shoot claw traps at survivors from a distance. Speaking of which the removal of those along with the scans is kinda lame. I think the claw traps should return in some form at least, especially the old ones that you have manually remove. Make it a penalty for failing a hack or maybe hacking too many drones in a certain timeframe?

I'm really sorry I don't have anything constructive to bring into the thread other than just "I don't like it" but a lot these changes are just fundamental removals of her kit. I get the hindered and haste stuff is problematic but surely there's a way to balance around that while keeping her current kit?

Literally not true nothing was retained of the previous version of Freddy gameplay wise it plays completely different its why I a former p100 Freddy main quit the killer the stealth anti loop and teleport all play differently its a completely different killer like how Freddy 2.0 is completely different from the original release (blue dress plays nothing like old snares either)

  • As seen with the Red Forest reworks, if they touch the swamp maps they will just ruin the aesthetics and not fix the issues, like grim pantry main building, the log window tiles, the absurd fillers and the weird hook gen and hatch spawns.

  • If you've ever played against these windows you would know why they are gone. They were absurdly broken even with Bloodlust 3. You couldn't do anything about them. If you go play killer now and break the walls on Badham, you can get a little taste of how much all of those old main building windows were broken.
