Honestly, after playing a lot of him I think he is far stronger than he is given credit for and if he was buffed those changes would just be nerfed later on.
I am no god, hell I am not even a killer main but I have been playing a lot of him and after a lot of pain I finally seem to have the idea and he destroys most public lobbies.
"Public lobbies." That right there is the issue. Killers shouldn't have to go against a public lobby to be strong and it shouldn't just be "oh well, it was an SWF there was nothing I can do." The game needs to be balanced around SWF and looking at something in a public lobby is not a good gauge of how strong something is.

So are gen perks op? or are chase perks op? or is it anti-camp perks that are op?
Can yall make up your mind, cause it seems like yall complain about anything that doesnt result in an instant hook.
Maybe, just maybe you see a lot of complaints from killers because the game is insanely bad for killers right now and not in the least bit balanced? Just a thought.
-
That's not even mentioning the fact that EMPs can remove the infection from other survivors so if you go against an SWF with even half a brain cell between them you're likely never going to make use of your power because they'll be able to just run to each other and EMP any time someone gets infected or stick together and just take turns disabling your biopods so that you can never infect them.

If you are depending on a perk to win, then the problem is in adjusting the game, the perk is problematic, yes, I need to use distortion in every game I play, and on top of that I need to take care of another surv that does not have the perk me to chase
I totally agree that killers need to be stronger to face SWF, but what annoys me is that all the buffs that devs give to killers is just to beat players who are already weak, look at my case, just today out of eight matches that I played, only one came out alive, the others or only one survived, or it was 4 kills
If DBD is survivor sided as you say, then I was sold the wrong game, because in the games I play, the killer wins the most
The issue with that isn't that distortion is needed, the issue with all balancing in the game right now is literally that SWF exists. If the devs would just admit that SWF screws EVERY other part of the game up completely, and add punishments of some kind for playing as SWF to make it so group play wasn't so strong, they could balance better around soloQ and better balance killers. Unfortunately, this game likely won't ever be balanced properly and toxic SWF groups are going to keep existing and ruining killers fun, which annoys killers and makes them try harder which punishes soloQ. The game literally can not be balanced without punishing SWF for playing as SWF in some way because they can't make soloQ strong because if soloQ was strong SWF wouldn't even be something killers could get a down in.

For team games or 1v1 sure, but not for a game like this when it's 1v4 that's how the Death Garden game died. Trying to balance this game around the higher tier players which only makes up just a small minority of players can easily destroy balance for the lower tier players which are the vast majority. If balance is ruined for the vast majority then players are gonna quit and you'll have a dead game very quickly.
No, not for 1v1 games. Jesus. That's literally how games need to be balanced. If you balance around making bad players feel the game is fair those players never have a reason to improve and the good players that are playing their role will absolutely destroy anyone they go against. It's mind boggling people can't understand this.

You're right actually, I didn't mean "make them stronger in chase" literally, it was more of a "make chases worth it" sentiment but I understand it's not making much sense haha. What I was trying to say is that because of more or less recent changes chases are shorter, so being injured is more of threat but healing has been nerfed as well, in consequence survivors die more quickly (which is obviously made worse when the killer tunnels). Because survivors feel like they die more quickly they do try to do their objective more quickly (which in turns makes the killer do the same), even in solo q I see people doing dull totems, chests and self-healing a lot less than before, everyone is just doing gens now.
I absolutely agree that longer chases = more tunneling, just like the gen speed nerf ended up making a lot more survivor use gen perks. And I also agree nerfing one or the other wouldn't change the other side's behavior, we'd need some kind of meta shake up or something to switch up things again I think.
In all honesty I stopped playing for a while after the meta shake up because games became too long for my liking, so I really don't mind the shorter games lmao, but I don't think it's ideal that about a third of the time we already know how the game is gonna play out depending on the first 2 minutes of the game.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3463129#Comment_3463129
Right... because there's absolutely no one between the absolute beginners and the thirty people who play "comp DBD" and we should totally balance a game around people who clearly don't reflect the skill of 99% of the playerbase and add so many rules and restrictions you could argue their games don't reflect the balance of the game at all simply because that's not how people play the game.
You balance around the top end of play because that shows what players are capable of doing, and if that isn't balanced, the game never will be. It's literally one of the easiest things to understand. The fact that you're claiming it's a bad way to balance is mind boggling. It doesn't matter if that's "not how most people play" it matters that those things CAN BE DONE. You don't balance around who plays at what level, games need to be balanced around what can and can not be done, and how those things can be done. It's literally that simple.

I think they could address this in a few ways that are fair. One is to reward zero bloodpoints for any survivor that bleeds out. You didn’t wanna take the time to hook or mori them? You get nothing for their death then. Another way is not to make Unbreakable base-kit which IMO would be a tad OP but to change the way the perk works. Unbreakable can be a very strong perk but it can be pretty useless if a killer is just slugging all match. I think they could add a token system where safely unhooking a survivor (or another action) grants a token up to a maximum of 2. Each token could grant you an additional usage. I think taking the abomination that is No Mither and changing it could help too. I get that it’s a high-risk, high-reward perk but in its current state it’s more risk than anything else as the killer will immediately know you’re running it and many will tunnel you out. I believe they should change it to the following: you start the trial healthy but will become broken upon taking damage. Being unhooked will reset the broken status but will only give you a certain amount of time (around 30 seconds) to heal before the broken status activates again. Once again, taking damage will inflict the broken status and the cycle continues. This change allows you to get usage out of the perk without being forced into an injured state while still having conditions that impose a risk to use. Lastly, they need to rework the bleed-out mechanic. I had a game with a slugging Demogorgon that slugged Kate all match without hooking her and though we continued to pick her up during the EGC he downed her and she literally lasted 1 second before before dying. If a survivor is healed completely to he healthy state they should have their bleed out timer completely reset.

Yeah...punish the killer for a playstyle that survivors can force with builds. That's a bloody brilliant idea.

Right... because killers absolutely go against comp teams regularly... we should also probably nerf every killer that has players getting impressive win streak with... surely it would all be fine...
The only thing that changed is how survivors play. Killers tunneling on top of the healing changes means being in chase isn't worth it and bringing medkits isn't worth it so survivors have to slam the gens if they want to win and they're more likely to bring toolboxes to do so.
The only things that need a nerf on the survivor side are the toolboxes, gen speed and gen perks are fine. It's just that a lot more survivors (me included) have started using them recently because there's not many perks worth running, and if we don't get gens done quickly we lose. If you nerf gen speed or gen perks, survivors are just going to focus even more on the generators assuming doing so still allows them to keep up with the killer.
"gen efficiency being too high" literally just means "survivors are playing well" btw, and it's quite silly to complain about it.
You....you realize that's how game balancing actually works right? You're supposed to balance around top end play, not low end play.

If you down someone, there is one other person left, you don't know where they are, and you decide to go after them instead of hooking the first person, you are wasting someone else's time because the thought of a 3k is a legitimate nightmare to you that deserves nothing but pity.
You're officially wasting more of my time than the average survivor and quite frankly I'm done.
Keep advocating for people to waste the time of other people for no reason other than to jerk it.
Do not bother replying to this unless you want me to just copy and paste that sentence, because that is all this comes down to.
It's really sad that that's your attitude. It's a game, you're wrong about this, point blank period. You can sit here and cry "I'm done, you're wrong" all you want but it's literally a game. People are going to play to win, and if there's 4 kills available it's not "wasting someones time" to try and secure those 4 kills. That's literally all there is to this. If you don't like it, don't play the game and stop acting like you're entitled to people playing the way you want them to.
-
@Technature said:
How is it a strategy to keep a game going longer than it needs to?
How much are you compensating for exactly?
And again, the comparisons that don't work.
Why don't we bring in other, vastly different games, where your time being wasted is because you weren't as good as the other person alone and not because they need to rub your face in it.
Or how about the stuff in the game you brought up that are not the same? Being caught and placed on hook is because you failed to evade the killer, not because the killer needs to jerk it. You being stunned by a pallet is because you didn't respect the pallet or didn't know it was there, not because the survivor felt a sudden need to jerk it. You picking up a survivor and being flashed was because you didn't do enough to chase or punish nearby survivors, not because they needed to jerk it. And the time spent chasing a survivor and abandoning chase was because you decided the survivor is wasting too much of your time and you need to pressure the rest of the team, not because you got tired of watching the survivor jerk it.
Survivors teabagging in the exit gates and killers refusing to kill someone because "muh 4k" is wasting your time on a game you can't hope to win and is "Jerking it". It is not a strategy. It is because you can't handle the possibility that you might not get a perfect win this time.
I'm not compensating for anything lmao. It's astounding that you're this upset over a game. It's literally part of the game, if there's 4 survivors available to kill, killers are going to do what they can to get 4 kills. Should one of the survivors be sacrificed automatically if the gates get opened without a kill? You're literally just whining and acting entitled. No, just because you're on the floor does not mean someone is being mean to you or wasting your time. You can just walk away, you can not play, but you're choosing to. It's literally that simple. It's really sad that you think all this comes down to is "someone can't handle not getting a perfect win" and mind boggling that you literally can't see any view point other than your own. People enjoy going for wins, it's human nature. You should probably either stop playing games that pit you against other people, or talk to someone about these things if it really upsets you that much.
-
@Technature said:
Wasting time because you're dead is a completely different situation from wasting time because someone else wants to jerk over a win.
One is a punishment from the game.
The other is because someone desperately needs to compensate for something and is making your game awful because ######### you.
It's literally not. How do you think things like battlegrounds are won in WoW? The vast majority of top tier teams win by literally keeping the enemy team dead the entire match and not letting them do anything. Again, if you don't like it you can just walk away and take a break from the game. You don't get to dictate how others play the game, fortunately for everyone else, and unfortunately for you. Like Raptorrotas asked, why is this a big deal? It's a strategy. You just seem to be too self centered to see any other point of view or listen to any argument or option put forth other than your own.

The hatch is basically a pity win more or less, and the game considers it a 4k with ranks even if the survivor uses it. 99ing is also something the killer themselves can deny and under certain circumstances can end up getting survivors killed while it's opening, where as if the killer wants to slug for the 4k the only thing either survivor can do is DC so the hatch spawns anyway.

I'm running my head in circles?
Do you know what would happen in a chess tournament if the person who was winning refused to put their opponent in checkmate until the clock literally forced them to either move on or lose? They'd get a well earned punch to the face.
Why are you advocating for it here? "Oh no, I might not get the fourth person, oh woe is me. Nevermind that I won the game already, it's not good enough."
lmao, they most definitely would not get punched in the face. You seem to have some issues going on if you feel that way, and should probably take a break. It's literally a game, people lose time in games all the time. Have you EVER played any other online game in a vs capacity? WoW pvp it's not uncommon to sit a lot while dead and wait for arenas to finish, or spend minutes of your time in a graveyard waiting to respawn in battlegrounds, especially if you're losing. This isn't some common occurrence unique to this game, and it's part of the game play. The fact that you're so insanely entitled about this is mind boggling. Go outside, walk away from the game a bit, it's ok to take a break, and it's ok if you lose. It happens. If you don't want to lose a few minutes of your life then maybe you simply shouldn't be playing games.
-
I think that killers are the biggest part of a chapter. They completely change the game for both survivors and killers as the survivors have to adapt to how each killers plays and what their special ability is. Survivors for the most part, are just skins with different perks. Even though a survivor can add amazing perks to the game, or mediocre ones, They don't change the way everyone plays the game like going against a different killer does. I would imagine that's why the majority of people consider some chapters good and others....not so good. Skull Merchant, for example, is widely considered boring because her ability is just "stall the game." It's not really fun for the killer OR the survivors.
Sure some survivors have introduced perks that were incredibly game changing, but that doesn't really mean people care about the survivors themselves, and I think that's the main difference.
-
@Technature said:
Survivor dying does not drag the game out. If anything it speeds it to its conclusion.
But by all means keep arguing that it's ok to be part of the problem.
It's amazing how you're ignoring my suggestion entirely just to keep the argument going and make it look like you're standing on some righteous point here. You're literally denying the killer part of the game play and part of their goal with what you want. Point blank period. That's all there is to this argument. You don't like it, don't play the game. It's literally that simple. It's astounding that you can keep running your head in circles like you're the only person in the world and anyone who disagrees with you is some bad person who's doing something wrong.
-
I don't care about survivors tea bagging at the exit gate? It happens literally every game and doesn't effect anything at all so why care about it?
No, that's literally the point, if you suicide as a survivor, the hatch DOES NOT open for the last survivor. That's literally what I said. Oh, is that not fair? Weird that your ego is getting in the way of what you want, which is the ability to just move on to your next game. If that's an issue, it's almost like you just don't want the killer playing the game.
-
Riiiight. Maybe it's time to take a break and walk away from the game then if you've literally lost hours to being slugged? Or, I don't know, run perks to prevent it? How about this, if you're so self righteous, survivors gain the ability to kill themselves if left on the ground, but killers get full BP as though they were hooked and the hatch doesn't open unless all gens are complete. That way you don't screw killers over and can stop whining.
-
@Technature said:
I like that you're implying that I teabag at the exit when I'm just as loud about that too.
No one should be wasting anyone's time over their fragile ego.
I don't care if you're a 4k obsessed slugging killer or an exit gate tea bagging survivor, you are an awful person if you do it.
But yes, you should just leave the game. Just DC. Just throw your BP away and be forced to be unable to play the game for literal minutes/hours/days if you don't like it so much.
Talking about entitlement and you unironically bring this pathetic point up. Unbelievable.
It's absolutely amazing to me that you're being serious about this right now. It's a game. You're literally wasting time just playing it. It's a way to past time. That's the entire point. You're literally sitting here saying killers shouldn't be able to do this because it's wasting someones time....so is hanging someone on a hook because that person can't do anything while they're hooked, stunning a killer is wasting their time because they can't move when they're stunned. Literally the entire game is about burning time. Wasting a killers time making them chase you so your team can get gens done, blinding them to waste their time. Just because you got put into a bad situation and lost a few minutes of your time doesn't mean anyone is entitled. It means you once, got put into a bad situation IN A GAME. Absolutely mind boggling that you have issues with this. Run. Unbreakable. It was literally added to the game to stop you from being slugged. Slugging is a viable strategy against survivors. Just because you feel you should be entitled to play exactly how you want, every game doesn't mean that's going to happen in a versus game. It's seriously mind boggling that you can sit here and call anyone else entitled when you're demanding control over how other people play the game.
-
@Technature said:
This is not about everyone being slugged.
This is about one person being slugged when there are two survivors without good reason.
There are killers whose entire playstyle relies on slugging people, and to say it's all bad at once is a fools errand, but there is literally no reason you need to waste four minutes of everyone's life because of a stupid number.
So then don't play the game? You can leave the game if you don't like it, you can run perks to counter it. Killers end up in games all the time where their time is straight up wasted because of SWF teams who bring bully builds or poor match making putting them against 1-2 survivors way above their skill level that bring flashlights and constantly blind, stun etc. It sucks but it happens. You literally can't change every bad mechanic in the game that survivors don't like, and the fact that ya'll think they should is a huge issue and shows how insanely entitled you feel you are. It's absolutely ridiculous. If you don't want to be slugged, on the floor when the killer is trying to get a 4k bring the perk to stop that. I just had a match as nemesis where I killed 2 people, had third on hook, found the 4th. Fourth person unhooked third, I downed 4th, chased after third, got them down and hooked them and....guess what happened? Fourth person picked themselves up with their big boy pants (and perk) and got hatch. The ability to avoid this is literally in the game.
Absolutely amazing that you're complaining about 4 minutes of your life being wasted because you're losing, but you likely don't have any issue when it's happening to someone on the other team.

Sorry, let me rephrase this.
I had no idea making the game as unfun as possible for everyone still in the game was so important because your ego requires you get a 4k.
Yeah...again, not at all what I'm saying. There. Are. Ways. Around. This. If your entire team ends up getting slugged, you, as survivors, screwed up. Point blank period. They literally can not stop everything that survivors think is un-fun. They've given you perks to help avoid everyone being on the floor at the same time. This is literally a skill issue. It's 4 against 1. Don't all go down at the same time.
-

I had no idea getting a 4k was such a life or death issue.
I've gotten plenty of 4ks without slugging the second to last person. It's not hard, and if you don't, so what.
When did I say it was a life or death issue? If that's your response, then you should say the same thing about the person who started this post and the survivors crying about something they can literally take a perk to counter. I've gotten plenty of 4ks slugging the second to last person as well. Pointing out something is ridiculous to complain about doesn't make something a life or death situation.
-
@Technature said:
No, no I agree with OP on this.
If you're slugging people so that you can guarantee a 4k, you're an awful person and you're no better than the people that teabag at the gate for the two minute duration. At least without good reason.
Some may say "Well there is no such thing as a good reason", but if there's two people left then the second person should be hiding as soon as the killer is able to go after them, which can potentially be "Immediately after my friend is downed". If the killer sees you after they down someone, it's perfectly reasonable for them to go after you. If you're waiting nearby with a flashlight save, that's on you. If you're waiting nearby to sabotage, that's on you. If you're waiting nearby to teabag the survivor that's about to die, that's not only on you but you also kinda deserve it.
But if you're on the other side of the map and the killer slugs the survivor to look for you anyways, they absolutely SHOULD be able to let themselves die faster. It's unfair to them that they have to be stuck in one of the most boring things in the game because of a players fragile ego, and it's unfair to the last survivor to have to dodge the killer for up to four minutes for the same reason.
It should be implemented in a way that it can't be used whenever because people will kill themselves at the drop of a hat. Maybe only available if everyone else is downed or already 2nd stage hooked OR if there's only two people left.
"I feel like killers shouldn't be able to get 4ks" OK, summed up what you said for you.
Seriously? This reasoning of "I got downed and now it's boring so it shouldn't be allowed" is absolutely insane. Go walk away and take care of something, have something on to watch or available to read while you're playing. The nature of the game as a survivor is that you might die, and you might end up on the floor. Every change people call for from the survivor side is literally just "deny/punish the killer for doing XYZ." It's insane.
-
@Ithiria said:
I get why people do it, but can we get some sort of countermeasure for it?
Perhaps if you've been on the floor for 1 minute, an extra action is enabled that causes you to bleed out much more quickly?
Or perhaps the option only becomes available when all but one survivor is slugged instead.
Why do survivors feel they deserve a counter measure for absolutely everything?
If you're being slugged that sucks I guess, but what the hell do you expect killers to do if all these requests for counter measures get added to the game? "Devs need to stop slugging. Devs need to stop camping. Devs need to stop tunneling. Devs need to stop the killer from being in the game." Jesus. Both ends have issues they need to deal with, yes, but this isn't that big of an issue. Survivors have MORE than enough BS they can already pull on killers, and yeah, being tunneled or camped out of a game sucks, but guess what? So does not being able to hook someone, constantly being bullied by SWF teams that design their entire play around denying the killer any game play, having the survivors finish gens so quickly you barely get a down and 2-3 gens are already done. Survivors don't need another free escape added into their kit. You've already got a perk that lets you get yourself off the floor, you can build up your recover meter on your own so another survivor can just run by and tap you and pick you up. If your ENTIRE TEAM is slugged without a single person dead or hooked.....that killer deserves the win.
-
Fiend is literally just a word in the English language? Unless there's been some new second meaning or it's a slur in some other language there's nothing wrong with that. As for the other two I have no idea what slurs those would be or even be referencing.

As of RIGHT NOW, that is their plan. You can literally read it in this thread.
You're literally not reading what I'm saying and are making your argument into something completely different than what it was. Unreal. You literally claimed that what people say doesn't matter, the devs have decided it's happening and told someone their opinion and voice on it doesn't matter. I'm telling you that isn't true. Actually they said several times that SWF was always intended, they just didn't have the resources to implement both SWF and KYF before the official launch, so they left it to community vote. The community voted for KYF so that's what was implemented on launch, with SWF appearing a few patches after.
Ok, I was likely mistaken about that and Mendela effected myself, my bad on that one. The point still stands that the devs have said things and backtracked due to poor testing, feed back etc.

As has been previously stated by the DEVELOPERS of the game, holding Survivors in a lobby for an hour is not how DBD is supposed to be played.
You and I have zero authority on this. The Devs have said they intend to make it less viable.
This is an asinine argument. The devs have also said, over and over again, that camping and tunneling are legitimate tactics, and when the game first came out repeatedly said that being able to queue with friends was never intended to be in the game, would be insanely imbalanced and they were not going to add it...guess what things the devs have gone back on...go on, take you're time.

As we state in the patch notes, this is a temp measure - short term, whilst we look at longer term options
So let me get this straight....killers have been having issues for a long time now, where survivors can find an area of a map that doesn't have hooks and abuse that by running to it, and making it so they can't be hooked unless you brought certain perks in. Something that everyone, including survivors, have been asking you too look at for a while now...and you instead look at 3 gen defense after introducing mechanics to stop camping which you used to say was a "viable strategy?" Most killers aren't top tier players like streamers with 8k+ hours in the game, and I understand most survivors aren't either but...the game is already poorly balanced in survivors favor in a number of situations such as SWF, which has been an issue since shortly after the game came out. Are these things that are ever going to be looked into? With the constant removal of strategies that are apparently common enough that they're a big issue, that 60% kill rate that has been claimed to be the number BHVR wants to be sitting around is going to drop, while these things survivors can abuse are going to just continue?

Sounds like you're a little salty for being called out for posting stupid things. You've literally got a post whining that a huge list of addons and killers need to be nerfed so survivors can have a guaranteed escape in end game, you've posted about nerfing a number of killer perks because they're too strong, and can't seem to understand somehow, that if killers keep getting nerfed they won't be able to do anything and the game won't be around much longer at that point. You're sitting here insulting people and telling them it's their job to find videos for you etc and just ignoring what they're saying. Maybe you should go for a walk and cool down a bit, I know that I can get snappy sometimes and walking away helps me cool down.
You also would get less push back, if you maybe talked about the fact that SWF is a MASSIVE part of the imbalance this game suffers from, and devs need to make up their mind about either nerfing SWF in some way, or balancing around SWF so that a lot of games as killer don't feel so incredibly lop sided. People are much more likely to remember games where they got absolutely stomped that made them feel bad then they are games that are mediocre where both sides did alright.

So let me ask, were you fine with DS being active in endgame? Because for some reason a lot of ppl who say what you said were not
You seem to want the killer to be able to do absolutely nothing in this game based on your posts. You are missing a few key points in the posts you're making about wanting so many things nerfed for killers. The point of the game is one killer vs 4 survivors. The survivors are supposed to feel helpless. You aren't supposed to all escape every game. The devs have said as much multiple times. You constantly post about how everything the killers have should be nerfed, so what are killers supposed to do? Stand in a corner and let all 4 survivors out every single game, because that's where the game will end up if the devs listen to suggestions like these.

I say we test the self unhook system. Tbh - if i had things my way… dbd would become f13 2.0 with more survivors, more objectives, and instant kills instead of the down and hook me mechanic.
but i dont see this being that different from someone who uses slippery meat+luck build to get that free unhook. And as someone who used to play slippery ace back in the day (i’m a killer player) i can attest to how dumb it is to jump off hook while the killer is camping you.
it IS better than nothing, but as borrowed time bill would say… “let me do it for you honey”
one of the questions i failed to ask is whether or not this would affect pyramid head’s power. Or if traps from trapper, hag, etc. count as being “nearby”
if bhvr and the community want to solve hook camping… shouldn’t the obvious solution be to slow or pause the sacrifice meter while the killer is near and hide said meter from the survivors hud?
Why does literally every conversation about camping bring this idea up. BHVR tried to pause the meter when the killer was nearby and survivors abused the hell out of it, proving it doesn't working and making it so that the mechanic never made it out of PTB. There's no possible way for this to be done in a fair way.

Yes, this is a camping buff. This idea was not thought all the way through.
Here is how to fix the idea! Give the survivor another hook state if they have to unhook themselves using this method. In that situation the survivor being tunneled off first hook would still be on first hook and the killer will gain nothing for camping. Also, if there is a survivor near the hook pause the progress of this feature completely.
CAMPING WAS NEVER THE ISSUE! The problem was the loss of a hook state and/or the tunneling that followed being camped. If this goes live the way BHVR suggested killers have even more incentive to face camp, NOT LESS! There goal was always to get a second phase/kill out of the face camp, and the self unhook pretty much guarantees that even easier than it is now.
Yep, you're right, I'm dumb. Sorry about that.

Ironic that I would be labelled as someone projecting my ‘feels’ into the game considering what we’re talking about. Do you really think a High Priestess from BC times would be rocking an activist flag from 2023? It doesn’t make sense and therefore - un-immersive. It takes away the huge amount of work that’s been put into making her feel like she’s from another timeline. Horror is my priority.
First it was that kids shouldn't see it, then it's because it's a political issue, then it's that it doesn't fit in the game, then when I explain why it would, it's that the characters wouldn't support it....you really, really need to take a long hard look in the mirror and ask yourself why this bothers you so much that you keep coming up with reasons to be upset over it. The charms are so small that you barely see them anyway, so why are you so upset over this? It's certainly not "immersion" as you keep claiming it is.

Does it really make sense that Michael Myers or Plague or Knight or any other killer or survivor from another timeline would have an activist flag representing sexualities that have only existed in the last few years? If you want to assign them a sexuality in your head that’s fine and that’s for you.
But the answer is no, it does not fit the theme or immersion of the specific characters or overall game. These killers have nothing to do with sexuality and most would historically and culturally be against ssm ftr.
Not to mention the flags that are already in the game stick out like a sore thumb AND it literally has a light interaction that no other charm has if I’m not mistaking making them consequential.
So your argument is, despite humans being in the game, and the story being that they come from the real world, because killers kill people *and YOU FEEL* that the killers would be against ssm these shouldn't be in the game? Sounds a hell of a lot like you're projecting and looking for issues where there aren't any.

That’s very nice of you but my argument is that sexual activism flags are un-immersive for many reasons in dbd. I know a lot of people mean good but I believe there are more consequences to these decisions than what’s been discussed.
Also isn’t Behaviour a Canadian company? Hasn’t same sex marriage been legal these for ages now? So where’s the unequal rights?
How is it unimmersive? The storyline is literally people getting ripped from the real world (or whatever world the character belongs to) into the fog. You don't think some of those characters that get sent into the fog are going to be LGBTQ+?

Ok thanks for your reply. I just wanted to understand why there’s such an outcry for people wanting to tell me what their sexuality is in the game because for me it’s completely immersion breaking to have sexual activism flags in dbd. From what I can understand people just ‘want’ to and to hell what others think about it. But anyway appreciate your responding.
Why does it have to be their sexuality? I'm straight, and I use the pride flag tag on some of my characters because I support the community and feel they need to have equal rights. I've got family members and friends that are part of the community. Doesn't mean I'm LGBTQ+ just because I have that flag on my hook.

The only issue is that the game isn't designed around having open communication (perks not designed for this nor is their an in game chat functuon). There aren't any other big 1vsmany games out there so it is tough to compare but comparing something like cod, overwatch, etc with even teams is not the same. DBD would need to change a lot of fundamentals of the game to make communication fair but that won't happen. Effects like blindess serve no use in swf among other issues
This right here hits the nail on the head. If SWF is going to exist, the game has to be balanced around it rather than solo queue, or killers need the ability to opt out of playing against SWF groups (which I don't even know is something that's possible to do.) The game was NEVER meant to have communication like voice chat in it, the devs literally said as much over and over again when the game came out, but they realized how much they could make and how many players would stick around longer with SWF as an option and just....never adjusted anything on the killers side to balance for it.

its all about "strategy" around here......EZ mode is what this place is all about...you arent going to get them to agree with you. the only way they will get it is when as a killer. they q up and spend 20 minutes trying to find a lobby in a game where noon wants to play the other side. i played killer for the first time this morning in over 6 months. with perks streamers have databases to using for each killer, and a basic knowledge of the game. you can destroy most trials fairly easy. i just couldnt take more than 3 matches of doing so. went back to the more challenging side
First....why are you surprised people want to take the easy route? That's kind of what humans do. Would you rather work to be rich or just be born into a rich family if you had the choice? That said, I don't agree with tunneling and try to avoid it when possible, but that's an argument that won't ever really go anywhere it seems. I was however wondering, do you have a link to these data bases for perks? I just got back into the game after roughly a year away and something like that would be incredibly helpful for me to see so I would have an idea of what killers I should be prestiging currently for perk unlocks.

Does no one remember when they tried to add a mechanic to punish killers who face camped and they had to remove it from the PTR because survivors abused the hell out of it? Insanely short term memories survivors here have.

I'm baffled by survivor players trying to defend this. I just had a game against an incredibly toxic SWF team. They all brought flashlights/tool boxes and ran Boil Over. We ended up in the Red Forest. Hooks were far enough apart that I got I think 2 hooks the entire game, despite constantly downing them. Slugging them? Not possible because they were all on comms so as soon as one was close to going down another one was right there to pick them up. Killers can't just stand over one person and let survivors do gens for free. There wasn't any counter play to this, it was literally pick them up and let them go free, or leave them on the ground for their friend to pick them up and get no BP for hooks. Cool, real fun game play there. Either Boil Over needs to be completely reworked, or there has to be a bunch of hooks added and no safe areas on any map.
