  • Well if you're one of the many unfortunate souls to play on console, using his power is a death sentence. I'm talking 2-4 second freezes. If you are talking just about him in general, the new chapter high has come and gone. He's just an m1 killer with some range and the occasional zombie play when they aren't busy vibing in a corner. He has all the many weaknesses of a standard 4.6 killer.

I play him on console and power through the freezes out of spite. If I still get a 4k through all of the freezing that acts to limit my ability as a killer main, then I am content

Round 7 of uploading clips I believe. That should be around 22 now with the bonus clip of a nemesis play I got. I got robbed of distance twice in the same game. one was an insta down practically. I did not expect my game to freeze for a good 5 seconds while going through the bloodweb as nemesis. what a time

EDIT: I just realized I somehow missed uploading a meme to my channel and pasting it here. both videos were right next to each other. I refreshed my page and saw that it wasn't the nemesis clip. At this point I'll just leave it there. Last time I upload near 3am.

  • At least BHVR is addressing the fact that they're working on the stuttering issues and know the cause. I mean with everyone talking about hard drives its hard not to know. I'm glad they said that they aren't putting out another hot-fix so they can focus on console stuttering. I'm not worshiping BHVR, I'm just glad they are prioritizing these horrendous problems

I'm Back with round six of new clips showing how enjoyable the console experience is. Losing distance in chases as well as botching the loop is one way to get outplayed by the game. Just play better I guess.

In regards to the talk of SSDs, If it works then that's great for those that wish to spend the money. I personally will not be purchasing one as it is not worth the investment for me. I own a computer more than capable of running this game. I only play dbd on xbox because I am not restarting 100 days worth of playtime just for a better experience. I'm not gonna buy an SSD for almost eight year old hardware so I can play one game in a better state.

It should not be our responsibility to find ways to make the game run better. This game is capable of running smooth as butter on consoles. BHVR either can't fix it, choose not to, or aren't allowed the time to. I am in agreement with those that say we need an "Operation Health" Chapter. what is the point of releasing new DLC when I can't even use the new killer power in the first place. The freezes went from 0-1 seconds, to 2-3 when Nemesis came out, to now 4 or more seconds of freezing after the latest patches.

If I'm being honest I don't really want to play this game anymore, and that's coming from someone who's been playing at least bi-weekly since July 2018. I cannot outplay survivors when the game freezes at crucial moments. Same deal with playing survivor. I'm not even getting outplayed. It is the game itself giving me the finger as I try to do anything of value. I lag forward as well as even backwards sometimes as shown in the Ghostface clip. But as long as this forum post exists, I will continue to play and highlight just how trashy performance has become.

Although this does not fall into optimization or fps drops and freezes, I thought some might enjoy this. At some point when I was running, I froze, My body couldn't move. I got downed and picked up and then dropped. I also couldn't wiggle. I could not recover nor could I crawl. I was essentially paralyzed. I've seen some strange things happen during the lifespan of this game. But there's bugs that make perks meta such as wake up, and then there's perks that make your soul leave your body. This was one such bug.

Edit: Killer carried me around and tried to give me hatch. It did not work. I could do no sort of actions of any kind. My player model didn't even react to my character turning.

Welcome back to episode 5 of "Will My Xbox One S Finally Sizzle and Die?" Pretty standard stuff here. Frames dropped simply because I existed, Dead Hard actually gave me negative distance, and a survivor chose not to get hit by a hatchet. He said no and the Entity listened. The last clip is a semi rare occurrence of one of both sides being spared from fps hell. All in all, I think this giant forum post has done a pretty good job so far.

  • When you unhook there is no invulnerability. The one being unhooked has brief invulnerability doing the unhook animation. They just wince out in pain but nothing changes. It does not trigger borrowed time or anything of the sort. That may have been what you witnessed. If it was the one doing the saving then you just had some fat lag or something of the sort because it is not possible.

Hoped I help explain it a little bit

Edit: The killer may have looked like they hit the one going for the save but it could have auto locked to the one on the hook instead

  • As someone who frequently plays late at night you get two options for survivors.

    1. Someone dripping out the wazoo on cocaine making the biggest brain plays imaginable
    2. Someone's little cousin johnny who barely knows how to pick up a controller
    3. both

Ranks are also everywhere but that isn't too strange nowadays. Queue times are somewhat longer so it gives you time to ponder, "I could be doing anything else right now, such as sleeping, and yet I am here queuing at 3am hoping to improve my least played killer." May God have mercy on your soul because the matchmaker sure won't.

You need to be constantly thinking about, and enacting upon ways to keep the survivors out of a chase occupied with things other than always staying on gens.

For example: my number 1 Main is Clown. I can’t just mindlessly chase 1 survivor till I can hook them, after the other. I am very proficient at ending chases fast, but I still want the other survivors to be preoccupied with things other than gens as often as possible. So if I see survivors grouped up together I injure as many as possible. I will often make sure at least 1 survivor is slugged at a time so that they’re not doing a gen, and somebody else has to go and help them up (or they waste their unbreakable). Survivors will stay injured for a little while until they realise just how much faster I’m ending chases in just 1 hit, so now I’ll have the survivors wasting more time regularly healing whenever they can. Simple things like this slow down gen repairs a lot.

Then there are killers where game slow down is actually in their power. Knowing when to use Static Blast as Doc to ensure more than 1 survivor is at Madness 3 every 2 minutes minimum helps stall the game by a HUGE amount, especially on indoor maps with Calm or Discipline (or both) making it really difficult for survivors to tell where Doc is, and make them regularly skittish.

This. to add, just give them a reason to hop off that gen. some killers are much better at achieving this than others. sometimes you can only stall for the gates to be powered. Sometimes you need to slug and or camp. It's not very enjoyable for the other side but neither is gettting metaphorically beaten to a pulp as killer. if you are in a situation where you know winning is an imposibility, try to secure one or even two kills. It won't be a perfect game for them if one or two people die. There will be games that you cannot win. You just have to accept that and do what you can.

People can offer perk suggestions all they want, but optimal survivors will push through even the sweatiest of regression builds. perks can help with the pressure but it overall comes down to optimal decision making and switching to a... less favorable playstyle

  • Go check the forum post that has 20k views and over 60 pages. There are hundreds of game clips outlining how the game currently is

  • It has been disabled due to frequent crashing. A buddy and I went into a private game and I crashed as killer within 20 seconds. It is a universal issue that is affecting all platforms currently. Hopefully the upcoming patch solves the issue as well as some console stuttering issues

I play on PC only, but this thread has me really concerned for the health of the game. I know RCPD crashes weren't just confined to console, PC players were having it as well. If there's anything you need us on the PC side to help with, just say the word.

Thank you. As someone who owns and has put some time on PC it is vastly superior in every way. It feels smooth and stable. Once upon a time the console version was semi stable. It was sometime around the plague where things dipped into instability. With each update it slowly became what fun we have today. If there's anything the PC people can do to help that would be very appreciated. With a current movement going around that I shall not name, there is hope that console dbd can be saved but I remain doubtful yet slightly hopeful.

  • I have morals. I try my best to 12 hook and not camp where possible. I like being fair and not running someone out of the game early. The moment I see a key gamer in my lobby is when I put my morals in a chest and say, "I'll be back for you later" as I load into the match.

Now I'm not saying I'm gonna tunnel vision and camp them to death. That's just not optimal play. What I am saying is I will not go out of my way to avoid doing those things. If you are in my way then so be it. If you bring the key your kindness privileges have been revoked

Survivor video is how my matches have been on ps4. Killer goes to use power I get a freeze, killer uses power I get a freeze, I get in killers red stain another freeze, killer swings I freeze... And when those freezes turn you around it's super frustrating. I had match on Lery's against a Wraith and was turned into him when I had a freeze after he uncloaked, I was trying to run straight so there was no reason for me to turn back into him.

ps4 seems to be worse off at least compared to my experiences. the main triggers I have are exhaustion perks, certain killers using their power, and of course the good old fashioned sloppy butcher. That survivor clip was probably the first time I was teleported a significant distance. I may lose distance or get turned around from time to time. Never ever have I been thrust 10 feet into the killers face. It was certainly an out of body experience

Goodness gracious those are pretty terrible. Painful to watch, had to have been worse to play through.

The first two annoyed me sure. The survivor clip I actually experienced an hour or so prior to posting the clips. All I could do was laugh at how far I lagged forward and how even the killer was disoriented as well.

Round four of uploading clips. The first two clips I am not surprised by at this point. The game behaves like this at a constant. What bamboozled me was the third survivor clip. I lagged ten feet forward into the killer only for him to miss me. dead hard lagged the game further. I don't have much more to say. Welcome to the console experience

    Hey all,

Due to recent circumstances, I find myself uninterested in continuing my DBD experience both on the Forums, and on the live game.

As such, I'l be quitting both for the foreseeable future. Don't ask why I was jailed, I don't think I can tell you and some of you probably already know.

I hope you all keep the thread going in my absence, this issue remains near and dear to me, I may upload some final clips.

    Love you guys,

    Pulsar

Unfortunately Pulsar and I saw this coming. If the planned auto ban feature didn't get him soon enough, the forums would. But even though he has been forced to retire, hopefully this post can keep on going. With thousands of views and over 60 pages, we can't let it die. Performance keeps regressing with every new chapter that is released.

While Pulsar may be gone for the moment, it is important now more than ever that we as a community stress the importance of how this is a universal issue that breaks gameplay. While I am not Pulsar, nor will I ever be him, I hope to become more active in the forums, especially relating to these optimization issues. As a real life friend of Pulsar I feel obligated to continue posting about these ongoing problems that lie before us. He was obviously very passionate about this game. While I may have less than 20 posts, I have been playing dbd for several years now and hope to express my interest for this game through the forums. I have always left the posting to Pulsar as he was more vocal when it came to highlighting issues we both shared. Now that he is gone, at least for now, I hope to give the forums a more heartfelt try.

Because we no longer have a Pulsar, its important to make it clear that console dbd is essentially unplayable. When this forum post inevitably gets taken down, I have faith that more posts of this same kind will pop up. As for the time being, I'll keep doing my part and posting a minimum of three videos highlighting freezing and fps drops every couple days. What Pulsar started cannot be understated. He brought many console fans that suffered from the same issues together in the same place. While his presence in the forums will be missed, we must press on and continue the fight for optimization.

    R.I.P Pulsar

Third time posting these lovely game clips. In the last clip my game lagged not one, not two, but three times. I used lithe, the clown simply approached me, and then I got it hit to top it all off. I would like to make it VERY clear that all of these were captured before 5.0.0 dropped last Tuesday. These happened all before the game broke even more.

  • First match of the new chapter and I had not one but two DCs as nemesis on the new map. I knew it wasn't a rage quit because This was a sweat swf I've gone up against in the past. I have recordings of the awful performance but, judging by the way the forums are right now, I don't think I need to show them. Before, console optimization was poor but I could play around it and actually have a decent time despite all the shortcomings.

With this chapter, freezes happen twice as frequent and I'm being punished for using his power. It was a strict m1 game after the horrid freezes.

Back once again with more juicy content. I had to do a double take once I realized Jake was, in fact, not on the ground. The second clip does not relate to console optimization, but I figured someone might get a kick looking at my suffering

That's the point we would have to re buy the game and reprogress everything because no cross progression

That is the sole reason I am not moving to PC. I have a PC that is more than capable of running dbd. I'm not going to throw away my 2000+ hours of progression and the money I have already spent buying licensed DLC just for a better feel. As great as it feels on PC compared to consoles, its just not worth it for me

  • https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W75CB4JJB2g https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c3Qm1TMGB1Q

I'm back with two new clips, both from the same game. It never ceases to amaze me how poor this game runs. In the second clip you notice it stops while there are still 7 seconds left. That is because it crashed. Huntress op I guess

  • Spirit. I don't need to list why because plenty of those above me have acceptable reasons

  • Try about every exhaustion perk.

I fast vaulted with lithe and it froze and caused me to run into a wall and get downed.

It truly is wonderful to lose to the game instead of those that wish to play it

Since my friend Pulsar is very adamant about the pain we console players suffer on a daily basis, I thought I'd do my part and show this wonderful moment that happens all too often

  • Well Black Ward is a killer offering that preserves add-ons and does nothing to the survivors. As for the main topic at hand, I don't think it should counter Franklin's. Franklin's whole purpose is to counter survivors who bring powerful items with the intent to sweat, such as four brand new parts or keys. If it did counter Franklin's then survivors could have complete control over the endgame as one example. White Wards would go hand and hand with items. Whenever a remotely powerful item and/or add-ons are being used, chances are white wards would come with it, which renders Franklin's useless. The only counter to keys and items in general at that point would be constant tunneling. Let's be honest no one likes doing that or having that done to them. It is also a pretty inefficient way of playing the game. The argument could be made that white wards would not become that common and would not always be used or high end items are not brought in that frequently. The first argument has a fair point as you need high rarity items, add-ons, and a very rare offerring to commit to one game. But I can say that the second argument is completely invalid. I have a friend who is way more active on the forums and I hear constant complaints about items like keys even with the current role of Franklin's. I did not really cover lower rarity items with the nerf but at that point its probably not worth it. These are my initial thoughts. Please let me know if I left something out or something I took note of was completely incorrect.

  • Like everyone is saying, run thee unique three perks pertaining to the killer and get a double pip or merciless. Simple as that

  • Besides the tip of running other useful perk builds to make up for it, I would just start spinning the camera. I don't mean until the point of being dizzy, but know the gen location. constantly switch where you look at areas of access. just keep constantly rotating all the possible ways a killer could sneak up on you. Have a plan for each scenario where the killer can enter. He's coming through shack pallet? vault the window(either slow for stealth or loud vault if you plan to start looping) or go out the back entrance. Coming through the back entrance? Run through shack pallet or throw it down if you are in the position to do that. make a plan for all scenarios.

  • I just hate Ormond. Just aesthetic wise and gameplay wise not that great.

  • Well that defines what you mean by winning. If you're talking about safety pipping then about everyone, provided you have a somewhat optimal perk setup or a gimmick build for that particular killer. Now if you're talking about 4k double pip, then that's situational. I've had games where I do perfect with Bubba at rank 1. It sometimes just depends on the survivors you play against. I've also had games where I get destroyed while I play hillbilly or say Myers. I guess the other thing to consider is perk builds. If you're playing on the lower end of the tierlist, you'll probably want whats considered an optimal build. I'm not here to talk builds so I won't go in depth on that matter. whatever is considered top tier, you can probably run a somewhat decent build and do well. And I guess the final thing to consider is personal skill. Everyone is at a different area in their DBD experience. You will find people that are far worse and far better than you. This ties into the randomness of matchmaking. hitting red ranks on both sides is relatively easy so you never know who you'll play against. And tierlists aren't always. you could play nurse with the sweatiest build possible and still utterly lose.

So just in conclusion, depends on your skill as well as your opponents, what kind of builds you're running, and who you're playing. If you want a percentage, due to all of the uncontrollable elements, I'd say a very rough estimate of 50/50

  • Billy with Flip Flops is a dream come true. I can only anticipate how nightmarish the new clown elephant cosmetic will be
