Or just remove the skillcheck and make gens always explode. For a perk what has 80s cooldown i think that's pretty fair.
The explosion is from missing a skill check, which is 10 percent iirc. Working on up to 3 gens that's 30 percent regression. That's quite a lot for nothing more than kicking a gen when there's no counterplay. There's a reason overbrine/eruption got nerfed and I'd rather not see an alternative combo rise in it's place.

Which is why he made the argument in the first place, COH has such an outclass from the rest of the boons, whenever you see one placed you dont think "Oh wow look at that it's dark theory" or "oh wow its exponential better go get downed over there", you just automatically assume it's COH.
All the other boons have a very niche scenario that it doesn't matter if they run it or not. If you're chasing a survivor, you're not going to stay within 24 meters for the entire chase. Good chance is that the loops in that 24 meters gets used up, making them dead-zones which most survivors aren't going to stay in. Even in indoor maps, shadow step isn't that powerful when you have: Line of sight, footsteps and grunts of pain.
Compared to COH, which grants both a healing speed and the ability to self-heal. This is the definition of efficiency for survivors. With the additional 50% healing speed, survivors can heal themselves in 21 seconds. Instead of two survivors healing together, now one can self-heal while the others work on gens.
Other Boons have limits on what they can do since it requires both the survivor and the killer for it to get benefits (Shadow step doesn't matter if the killer isn't chasing you, Exponential doesn't do jack if they don't slug, Dark theory... yeah) While COH has more applications. Killer is running a 3 gen? Just place COH, get hit, heal, repair and repeat. Injured and can't find anyone? Hit up the COH boon. Want to heal a survivor faster even though you guys are already healing? I mean sure why not let's go to the COH.
And yeah sure maybe once in a while you'll see a full sweat sabo, flashy exponential running squad. But that's once in a blue moon and instead of doing gens, they're just trying to do max altruism.
I understand the argument. Still doesn't change my point.

The only one as "strong" as a hex is COH
Shadow Step is limited in its range and has to be used near the killer to get value, and even then on an outdoor map it's still not very useful
Dark theory is basically a cosmetic haste effect
And Exponential is literally a counter to slugging. It literally is useless if you're not slugging lol
Personally, I like slugging as an alternative to hooks but it's so rare to see it I almost never have to take it into account and when I get suspicious that they're getting up so fast I just know to snuff it when i see it and down them again
Bruh.... One more time..... SOME of the boons are as strong or stronger than SOME of the hexes. You're dead wrong if you think I'm comparing dark theory to NOED.
Or are you going to tell me that a shadow step on any indoor map, or in the right places on Haddonfield, Garden of joy, the bedhams, EoC, or the main buildings of half the remaining maps (especially when they're up a set of stairs and away from your objectives) is weaker/gives less value than huntress lullaby, thrill of the hunt, 3rd seal, retribution..... and so on.
And while it isn't strong on solos, if you haven't versed a squad that's shown you the value of a sabo/flashlight/exponential build..... Well you're luckier than I. I'm not claiming it's OP, but it gives them a heck of a lot more value than new Ruin gives a killer, and yet they can have it up less than 30 seconds after it's snuffed while Ruin is one and done and the killer is now minus a quarter of his load out.

Boons get to be different because 1, they take time to set up, 2, they make a bunch of noise, and 3, are limited to a certain radius
Don't like boons? Run shattered hope. Don't want to run it? Well tough luck
Even as killer I don't have much problem and don't really care about them doing COH, plus I'm not even actively trying to win by hooking them
I don't know why this keeps getting suggested so much when that would make literally all other 3 obsolete
I also like how you tried to make it seem Exponential and shadow step is OP, lol while forgetting about dark theory, idk how anyone can make that seem OP it's pretty much a cosmetic haste effect
Didn't suggest they were OP, just stated that they are as strong as some killer hexes and stronger than some others. Yet they can be reused unlike said hexes. Just seems backwards when the weaker perk that takes up 25% of a load out can be permanently removed when a boon cannot. That and the time value of a solo player vs a squad is considered.

More importantly, imo, is why do we need 50 of them. Makes them come up more often.

Well what I meant was outside of gameplay was the ranks. It doesn't do much than do that. Sure, people would change their play style in order to get the pios, but actual in game wise it wouldn't do much to effect tunneling besides people trying to be safe in the pipping and ranking.
And as for the perks, you just need perks and if they are going to be less useful when you re-hook the same person that just makes the game feel a bit more restrictive for not a lot for reasons and also doesn't do much to still change the gameplay.
Ok, well I'm not sure I agree, but thanks for the feedback. I mean, you said people would change their play style but in the same sentence said it wouldn't change tunnelling. Either way, my thoughts are out there for BHVR and they know their game better than I do.
Cheers

Both ideas aren't as great.
Changing the pips and stuff would effect some stuff out of the actual game and gameplay, but doesn't address much or fix anything in the long run I'd say.
And the perks being changed to be more useful for spreading hooks isn't as valid. You'd be trying to make the killer have to play that way in many ways. Which wouldn't be the best for so many situations playing killer which makes it fairly unnecessary
Not arguing, but I'm going to need a more in depth explanation. What would it change outside of gameplay? I'm not talking MMR, which I'm told is separate from the things I mentioned. Pips to rank and blood points.... The first recycles every month and the second gets pumped right back into the bloodweb. I don't see how incentivizing hooks over kills would break that. Second, unless your perks are a crutch and you can't win without them, you can choose to strategically lose favorable perks in situations as the need rises. Like STBFL. I'd say my exact post isn't the perfect solution, just a general concept, but I'd think game designers could implement it in a workable way. I genuinely don't see what you're trying to say, but it's most likely because your response was brief.

Yes, great idea. There is only one flaw in it: the quick withdrawal of one player gives a much greater advantage than the percentages you offered. After successful tunneling, you hook the next player and started chasing the third one. Congratulations: generators are no longer being repaired.
My thoughts were totally off the cuff. I understand your point, but don't take the numbers as concrete. The developers have enough information to be able to balance the rewards/penalties in greater detail than I ever could.

Hmm,
New to the game but stating that survivors will struggle with the new wiggle mechanic and boil over?
Makes senseeeeeeeeee
Let me guess. You play M&K. Your snark aside, this isn't a "oh golly, I've never seen this before and don't know what to do" issue.
-
Well Seraphor, like I said I'm very new. Less than 50 hours. I don't know if I've experienced the improved controller handling against boil over yet, but I hope not. The reason I say that is because I had a game a little while ago where a Rebecca survivor was completely unhookable with that perk. I downed her 5+ times and some of those times I never made it a single step closer to any hook because all my effort went towards stopping myself from swaying into a corner. Possibly my fault for not yet knowing the counter play on console? I'll keep at it, but it still would be nice to be able to keybind strafing to one of the buttons that don't even get used on a controller otherwise.
Thanks
