  • This still happen way too often when you ever want to play as a Survivor (Forced to atm since Killer queues are 30 minutes long) and you always gets camped…

    Campers do not care about pips. They want kills.

    It’s a part of the game and always will be.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/65040/battlepass-isnt-bad-and-here-is-why

    You forgot to talk about the actual downsides of Battlepasses.

    1. The segregation of a playerbase in which if you've got people playing for the same length of time, but suffers a huge disparity in content due to not being able to afford a battlepass when the entire player base could have been better served with short term events so everyone regardless of cash in had a fair shot at getting the free content.
    2. Battlepass gaming often can lead to player burn out as playing now has to happen on a more scheduled basis for longer periods to progress the battlepass.
    3. The pricing of a battlepass is almost always predatory as there is no way to roll battlepasses over from season to season if you were for any reason unable to play. I.E. you've invested the money, but couldn't get a return due to life issues, equipment failure, game failure which dbd has had issues with for going on 3 years.
    4. The same amount of content could be given to the players through subsidized brand promotions which wouldn't pass the cost on to the consumer.
    5. Often battlepasses reduce content put out for straight purchase and cause price increases on content that can be bought directly. The reason for the price increase is the addition of more currency being "given away" even though that same currency is gated behind the paid pass. So players who spend money in the ingame shop that don't want the pass can and have been hit with a price hike.

    “Without passing the cost on to consumers.”

    You don’t understand business, do you?

    Not only would I uninstall the game right away if they did that, I would even demand for a refund and report them to the better business bureau.

    You’d be laughed at, and frankly, you leaving the game doesn’t matter. Anyone who refuses to spend any more money on the game is not someone I’d advise BHVR to listen to.

    @thesuicidefox What is FOMO?

    And I have no clue what youtuber you're talking about.

    I'll never understand why people want to normalize this crap. Its like if they want to be treated like cattle in a barn, getting milked for money.

    You expect games to keep going with no money coming in? Come on, you have to be trying to be that dumb.

  • The issue is you’re dealing with a player base that lacks a basic understanding of economics. The game is not free to maintain- they need money coming in to pay developers, testers, get licenses, etcetera.

    The money the game has already made? It’s gone. It’s not like every dollar sits in a vault- they paid employees, taxes, overhead, and investors. Without money coming in, the company, and the game, will die.

    Selling cosmetics and Battle Passes is a way to NOT just charge everyone an access fee. Money has to come in- the game will die without it.

    Misleading title but I feel that, would be OP to trash offerings or perks for BP, maybe make it so you earn 1/4th or 1/2th BP for scrapping offerings or add ons?

    How is just deleting them from my inventory in any way overpowered? Don’t give me anything in return, just let me throw things I don’t want out so I don’t have to scroll by.

  • @MegsAreEvil said:

    So you played over half a year a killer which exploited game mechanics and lately also used bugs, and now you wanna get a refund? Do you refund those players who were bullied by you playing Legion? Also read the contract you accepted. Youre mortifying.

    OP is an idiot, but you’re worse. Legion was fine (except the recent add on issue), now Legion is garbage.

    Have fun when there are no killers.

    1-3k hours depending on the person you're asking about. Not sure what that matters though, it's not acceptable regardless if you made a life commitment to this game or if you're someone with only a couple of hundred hours.

    If I recall correctly too you're an old school DBD streamer who actually does the exact thing I'm talking about in this post, so I don't really expect you to understand where I'm coming from. Nothing personal though.

    It’s based off playtime- if you play ten matches and disconnect in four of them, it’s going to hurt you more than if you play a thousand matches and disconnect a hundred times. You might see the streamers disconnect, but there are hundreds and thousands of games where they aren’t streaming or you aren’t watching them where they’re keeping their numbers in the safe range.

    Sigh the NoED argument again? the one you can get rid of? i don't run NoED personally but i find this such a false equivalency.

    MoM's edition now creates 3 second chance perks and unlike with NoED that does not work with all builds or even all killers (Hello Huntress hatchets, Legion Frenzy and Plague Puke)

    They make them so they actually work in sync with each other! BT actually stacks with MoM then DS comes after it what in the serious shitbiscuit?

    Dead Hard, MoM, DS and Adrenaline.

    Congratulations you now have an all purpose god mode that is only countered by an Ebony Mori or Exposed effect.

    If you lose to that build, it’s because you’re playing a very particular style. Try increasing the pressure you’re putting on survivors instead of camping and tunneling to the degree you let DS activate. Or Adrenalin, frankly- if they pop all five gens, odds are you lost the game well before that point.

    Again, powerful perks annoy the other side, but that doesn’t mean they’re broken. There is not a single “broken” perk in DbD. They all do what they say they will, which is what was intended.

    Adapt.

    When the devs are open people jump to conclusion before they can even explore. On top of that their words get twisted. I think it’s a good thing that they are less open on what’s going on behind the scene because too many people got comfortable in telling the devs how to do their job.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/077/G636Q6SYD1BE.png

    If the devs weren’t so overtly terrible at their jobs it’d be a lot harder to correct their work.

    You will never convince me lying to your customers is a good idea- and that’s why they quit giving information, they got tired of being called out on their lies. Remember when they said Curtain Call would release same day for all bases? PS Japan was two months behind.

    As I answered in a similar post, we are bringing most feedback back to the team and we are even planning communication on some of the issues you mentioned, we just can't go ahead on the communication and we need to stay on the schedule for now.

    When it comes to feedback, we do take most of it back to our Design team. Feedback isn't ignored, it is explored. For different reasons, the ideas might make it or not to the game.

    What is the benefit to withholding information? It seems to be the modus operandi you guys go with and it never works out well- have you discussed being more open with the community?

    @ScoopskiPotatoes

    Yh, and devs nerfed It only because It was "annoying"... Quit with these troll posts please...

    Not trolling, I just disagree with you. I think that powerful perks are good and there should be more. It’s not a difficult position to understand, really- the game adapts and that’s what makes it fun.

    @ScoopskiPotatoes

    That's where you are a wrong, MoM has the same purpose as old DS and we all know how broken it was. + Old DS could be "countered" by ANY killer with ANY loadout by dribling the survivor... You now need to play Billy so that you never get hit by it MoM...

    One of the problems of this perk is that after the devs recognized how they messed up with old DS saying "we feel like the killer is getting punished for something that it's not his fault" they just release a perk that does exactly the same as old DS... That's another of the reasons why this perk is so awful...

    You know what's worse? Devs wont give It any counter because they know if they'd do then all killers would counter It and not a single survivor would buy the perk, making them loose money. I knew this was gonna happen, that's why I made that post about removing the perk before it was released, a lot of people did the same thing but as usual... Killers keep getting ignored...

    You’re wrong that old DS was broken. Annoying does not mean broken- there SHOULD be powerful (annoying) perks for both sides.

    The counter is to assume everyone has M.o.M- continue the chase and take them

    down, the same way you’d take care of someone who DS’ed you before the change. If they escape, they’re either one-shot down or glowing red. It’s fine, my friend- only those who refuse to adapt have issues like this.

  • @prayer_survivor said:

    Barbacue and NOED are broken and I don't see you saying that must be nerfed

    This word, “broken,” I suspect it does not mean what you think it means.

    They’re fine- just like MoM, just like DS was, etcetera, etcetera. Perks are designed to change the game- don’t whine about ones that do, be angry there are so many useless ones. Every perk being viable would be great- more variety and less monotony.

  • Instead of addressing gen times, poor map design, and weak killers, BHVR decides to buff a perk that shouldn't have been buffed and added a new broken survivor perk.

    I only play Killer.

    I wish every survivor ran MoM- it’s a million times less annoying than DS was.

  • Just because we need some more positive around these parts...

    Of course they’ll focus on story- it’s something no one wants and they don’t see how it can backfire.

    It is not toxic to not be Pollyanna in everything- and frankly, asking for only opinions you like makes you look like a jerk. Embrace all opinions, since (thankfully) it’s not up to you who comments on this forum.

    @MegsAreEvil

    So you havent even read the post... Im not crying, Im just bringing up facts. I dont want anything to be done for me (unlike most survivors relying on crutch perks and stuff like that). I just want some information about the current problems of the game.

    I bet you dont even play killer... and if you do you havent faced competent survivors...

    You have valid complaints- but then you call MoM a good perk and I know it’s that you need to improve as Killer. Some of your complaints (Thana, Legion and Purge buffs) are true- but a lot of it is entitled killer nonsense, no different than survivors whining about NOED.

  • @TheWorldofDitto said:

    Look man if I want to Dc against a legion I should be allowed to and I am punished for it by loss of pips and bp so quit whining also Legion is toxic af so if you like him you clearly don't give a shot about BOTH SIDES good day you emo drama queen

    Who’s the drama queen? You’re the one who can’t handle playing a game and has to run away.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/55592/i-swear-this-community

    Heres an Idea, dont play Nurse with noed, or legion and people wont DC. People play this game for fun and if they dont think they will have fun they will just not play. The same can be said for playing against 4 survivor blendettes that do nothing but hide or getting Haddonfield as killer. I dont blame the killers for dcing or dodging that lobby because it would be unfun. I feel that your just trolling (evidenced by legion portrait), If you want real games where people arnt going to whine or dc, play a killer that isnt busted. Because I know many people in the community feel like if we see a legion with Frank's mix tape or starts moonwalking on deep wounds we just DC. Which is the SAME as any competent billy or huntress that gets haddonfield or lerys. So "Grow a pair, suck it up" and stop whining about the community's whining.

    And honestly there is no consequences for dcing against, for say a prayer beads spirit, which the consensus among people is busted and Id rather just not play.

    Or, you could follow the Terms of Service you agreed to and not disconnect because you’re upset about a game.
