I'm enjoying the event as killer, so there's one person for you. I do think alot of the criticisms are valid though. The cake situation is bs, and killer is a lot more uninteractive than survivor. I do also think killers should be taking advantage of the poison more than they are. I've done pwyw and really had only one game where the killer actually properly used poison. Most killers I faced were playing like it was normal mode, which i can also understand as killer is very easy to fall into autopilot mode.

Most people who complain are killer mains, who probably didn't even try to play as a survivor.. just read "invincibility" "speed" "invisibility" and started to rage.. while I do agree, there probably should have been more interactions with the killer, for example if you get poisoned and jump a pallet it should insta break, or become oblivious instead of invisibility.. I dunno.. because the actual poison IS OVERPOWERED, but doesn't give too much strategy or thinking, just throw at survivor and catch him before he even moved 2 meters.. but I think it's completely justifiable.. look at the numbers, nobody wants to play the camp and slug fest that is DBD anymore..it's not enjoyable.. only toxic SWFs are left to demolish good killers, but solo Q is a disaster.. killers complain that someone turned invisible for 3 seconds, as if they teleported to the other side of the map.. just search the area for a second and you most definitely will find the surv.. 3 seconds invincibility? just wait it out like Dead Hard.. not that big of a deal… people are making it sound a lot worse than it actually is.. insta heal survivors? sure.. but generally the downside is nobody doing gens or anything, just running around the map.. sometimes the cart is next to the table yes, sometimes is 10 tiles away.. that is a bit stupid I agree.. then you have gens that dissappeared because they put the festive banquet or the table there.. sometimes even making the map 3 genned by default.. gens spawning 1 tile away from each other.. but all of these have been discussed..

What's hilarious is killers saying: let's camp and tunnel and slug as a revenge for this 'bad' event.. as if that didn't ALREADY happened.. running only iri addons and op perks.. as if that isn't already you regular queues.. what are we even talking about..

And the cakes are fine, I have hundreds of cakes for months to come, without even using my 10mil whom I spent instantly..

Lmao, you still find a way to complain about killers even in an event that gives survivors superpowers.

Are you talking about Dead by Daylight, THE game with actual superpowers? The killers with undeniable superpowers as part of the gameplay? I am not complaining at all, I REALLY LOVE THE EVENT, AND WANT TO THANK THE DEVS AGAIN FOR THIS INCREDIBLE ANNIVERSARY!!!

  • killers when the anniversary doesn't give them an ability to instakill 4 survivors: ( •̀ - •́ )

  • What you won't find on the forums is people actually writing posts saying "How good the event is".. and as always only whining killer mains get to say their frustration and be vocal about it, because they didn't get an ability to down all 4 survivors at a press of a button..

NOTHING literally changes with the game.. SWF always stomps average killers, the only difference is, now, they can coordinate to stomp even harder.. SOLO QUEUE experience is also the same, randos running around like headless chickens doing nothing all game.. I have to run hatch finding items or perks just for this, because I lost MOST of my games otherwise.. killers are still camping and slugging, same as before..

So I'll say it again: THANK YOU TO THE DEV TEAM, FOR PUTTING UP TOGETHER SUCH A GREAT EVENT!!!

  • Fog/mist should have a timer and a cooldown…..

  • Killers when the anniversary doesn't give them an ability to instakill 4 survivors: ( •̀ - •́ )

You do realize the survivors are not doing objectives while gathering plates? I've lost more than enough games because people just run around eating at the anniversary drive-thru.. the killer ability where it slows you down to the point where you can't reach even 3 meters is more than OP..

Same ancient discussion: SWF are overpowered, so let's punish solo players…

  • This has to be the BEST event BHVR ever done! Thank you to the devs!

I know exactly how it worked, I'm a 2017 player. I didn't mention any of it because it would have made my post as long as Wall Maria

Let me ask you in reverse. In 0-kill games, have you ever seen a survivor spontaneously sacrifice for the killer to make him feel better? Why would you expect the killer to spare the last survivor? The entitlement here is absurd.

Of course the precedent iteration of hatch had issues, (mainly caused by how broken keys were back then) but at least it was a consistent mechanic. Now it's just plain ugly rng.

The problem here is that the mechanics of hatch are forcing Killers to play toxic to get 4k, because otherwise they'd simply rely on rng. Which is not fun.

The only problem with hatch being visible was the existence of keys which allowed survivor to escape way earlier. That's why I suggested to make it not-accessible until 2v1.

I always give my survivor life up, when 3 others escape (if the killer didn't camp or slug).. and sometimes even drop a pallet or two for few extra points.. I don't even need the points or to escape at this point in the game, I really don't, I have almost all characters and perks.. or if the game was really fun, I just sacrifice myself, even if the killer takes me to the gate.. I always try to reward good sportsmanship.. especially if the killer tried its best to chase us around, and never gave up.. it's not a pity move, it's just my way of showing appreciation towards someone who is actively engaged in making the game desirable for both sides.. unfortunately 95% of the games in what it's called "high MMR" are just sweaty campers and sluggers for the 4k.. yes, I know there are toxic SWFs who actually ruin the games of many innocent killers, but today if you've looped the killer for more than 20 seconds, you are automatically camped for the rest of the game.. not because they want to get rid if good competition, I've literally talked to many of them in the end, and they said I was annoying or toxic.. FOR JUST LOOPING… I never use flashlights or even hindered perks, I'm not even a good looper.. I've been witnessing this "entitlement" discussion for more than 7 years of playing this game.. and everyone is fighting each other, while the actual responsible people for the game, don't even care to read these words.. people have been begging for anti-camping, anti-slugging since the beginning of the game.. here we are 10 years later, releasing more skins and perks that nobody asked for…

  • @pidgeon

And you still didn't answer.. WHY DO PEOPLE GENERALLY LEAVE? are they evil, and want to ruin other people's game? are they bored? are they scared? are they enjoying the game too much, and wanna leave before they get addicted to it?

Solving an issue, starts from first realizing and then understanding where the roots are.. just whining that 'game is ruined because someone disconnected' doesn't mean anything.. did you think that the game might be already ruined because someone cannot enjoy the actual gameplay.. I think it's reasonable to want to avoid something that causes you discomfort.. your argument "git good" doesn't mean anything to a player who plays the game for different reasons, than to sweat for the win.. nowhere does it say, that YOU HAVE TO WIN, YOU HAVE TO KILL, YOU HAVE TO CHASE, YOU HAVE TO ESCAPE… you can literally enter the game and sit in the center of the map if you so desire.. what makes the game enjoyable to you, is not necessarily the same for others.. using the available abilities and mechanics of the game, to create your own experience sounds much better than "play the game to win".

So let me ask again, in case you forgot.. why do you think people leave?

how is trying to eliminate all survivors (literally the entire point of the game) staggeringly disrespectful?

The goal of the game is to kill everyone/escape

it is not only kill a few and let the last person escape or only 3 people can escape not 4 rule based game.

do not twist made up rulebooks invoked whenever you dislike losing with what the game, rules, and mechanics actually are.

what other sport or competition that has a clear start and end has the game end early or have the winning person/team stop playing just because they are winning?

In american football is it unsportmanlike for a team up 21 and 0 in the 4th quarter with 2 minutes to still play to win and try to score points?

    how about basketball?

    combat sports?

you dont like losing and remaining in a state of being aware you are losing. so you want a shortcut out of it. thats why alot of people dc too. thats unsportsmanlike.

Have you seen a "Ranked" button while in the game main menu? Most people just want to have some fun, not sweat for few extra points.. also, I cannot believe that you used the "sports" argument.. you forget that this game is asymmetrical and in NO SHAPE OR FORM BALANCED.. yes, your objective is to kill the survivors, but nobody forces you to.. you are literally not punished at all if the last survivor escapes, even if he did nothing all game.. you will have more or the same amount of points as any of the survivors even if he escapes.. being slugged for the 4k is KILLER SIDED… let me repeat that.. ENTIRELY KILLER SIDED.. he doesn't get punished at all for slugging, for not kicking a gen or not hooking.. while the survivor is completely forced to do objectives, to not spawn the afk crows, in a game that is ALREADY LOST…

I recently watched a video on how players will DC simply because that survivor didn't feel like playing against that killer. So I decided to put this to the test and play 3 matches of 5 different killers those killers being Oni, Wesker, Kaneki, Plague, and Hag. In these matches I wouldn't tunnel or 4 man slug however I would still try to win.

For killers people disconnected against there were zero Oni disconnects zero Wesker disconnects (who would've thought) there were instead 2 Kaneki disconnects/people refusing to play 2 Plague disconnects and one hag match had a disconnect. So in total 5 out of 15 matches had a disconnect or people just wouldn't play the game at all.

Now you may be asking why is this a problem? Well when a killer disconnects nobody gets hurt survivors get to go to the next match and they keep any bloodpoints they earned along with EXP. However when a survivor disconnects as long as its a competent killer player on the other side of the screen it is literally impossible for survivors to win since its essentially turned into a 3v1 from the start of the match this is further amplified if instead of disconnecting the survivor kills themselves to avoid penalties

Some people are for sure gonna think well you're winning the match why does it matter? I mean its gotten to the point where I genuinely have a 72% kill rate with Kaneki after 15 hours on him simply because people give up in so many of my games. Yes I am complaining because mine and many other peoples kill rates are beginning to become inflated and since BHVR does their changes based on stats this largely affects the balance of the game.

I wanted to explain why this is unfun for both sides in case people wanted to argue with me about it and why it cannot be fixed. Killers disconnecting isn't really much of a problem since the survivors all escape keep their bloodpoints and the match ends so nobody gets hurt. However when a survivor disconnects the match doesn't end but its immediately lost instead because it is.

My idea for a way to solve this problem that will never come to fruition is as follows:

    1: increase DC penalties

    2: increase DC penalties

    3: increase DC penalties

OR make it so the match ends when a survivor gives up in order to not waste anybodys time and not give the killer a free win. This feels terrible to play with and against for both sides as it literally ruins the match. Sadly if either of my ideas actually happens people will complain sooo much.

If you down vote me or genuinely think this is stupid I would love to hear peoples opinion I'm not trying to push Us vs Them mentality its just that when a survivor disconnects one side easily wins and they are forced to play a lost game

Not once you addressed the real core issue with WHY people disconnect.. you just want a "quick fix" that actually makes the experience worse for both sides.. nobody disconnects because they have a turkey in the oven btw… I speak for myself mostly, but I'd like to think that people play this game to have some sort of fun.. nobody understands that all this toxicity comes from really bad game design, and not addressing the real issues with the game.. people are constantly frustrated and become toxic, with each other, because of different game mechanics being abused.. it's a cascading effect.. basic human nature… you get 4man slugged or camped all game, then next games you wanna annoy the killer too.. then he gets frustrated and so on.. if you have to be a good looper just to enjoy the game, then what happens with new players? and yes, if survivors leave as a protest, because the game IS NOT ENJOYABLE, against badly designed killers, why the solution is to punish the person who didn't wanna stay in a "toxic relationship".. it's a very common misconception of what is a win and what isn't.. and people STILL think, after 10 years, that DBD is about escaping or killing.. I've had more fun in games where survivors and killers were goofing around..

  • How many times this happens, especially in "high mmr" games.. 3-4 gens are left to be done.. 2 survivors left.. killer downs one.. and slugs him.. if you think I am biased, this won't happen the other way around.. it's not like the survivors will keep the game hostage by intentionally not doing gens, because they want to spend more time with the killer..

You're probably wondering how we got here.. well, survivors nowdays just looooove to hold the run key all game long..especially in the beginning of the game.. where does this lead to? oh yeah, being caught in few seconds by the killer, and most likely being downed by the killer in the next 5 seconds.. not every game is a 4 SWF twitch streamers who can loop for 5 gens straight, BTW… many people play solo…

Then the killer has to search nearby for the adjacent generators, because that's where survivors spawned, and they start doing the closest generators, since it makes "the most sense".. so they will get caught doing gens, and be ran for an "x" amount of time.. he gets downed.. then the killer does the most "reasonable" thing there is to do - go back to the first hook in order to:

    1. chase the person who unhooked
    2. chase the person that was on the hook (higher change of happening)

And from now on, this is on repeat.. chase one guy, down him, go back to the previous hook.. until there's 2 individuals left.. and now we're back to where this story started..

What choices do I have in this position?

    1. get up the guy was slugged, which was constantly proxy camped by the killer to know his position at all times, get chased, get downed, get slugged, and there's no way he did 3-4 gens in-between, we just swapped places..
    2. get the guy up, and we somehow lose the killer.. we are healed and ready to do 3-4 for generators, right? WRONG… that is statistically impossible.. even if we juggle the aggro onto generators on opposite side of the map, and keep hiding without getting caught, it's still a very very hard thing to do.. so sooner or later you'll get in the same position.. killer finds one of us, slugs, and hopes to find the other one..
    3. don't get the guy up, because I know the game is completely over, and there's no reason to prolong this agony for no reason.. but the downed survivor doesn't give up.. he just wouldn't abandon, he REALLY wants to get up, and starts coming towards you.. WHY? beats me to be honest.. is not like this game has any chance left.. for some reason maybe he thinks it's fair or he deserves to switch places with me, and I should be the one slugged, and he gets a chance to escape.. and sometimes he even gets picked up by the killer, and let go, only to help the killer find me, because why the f not… and you have to deal with ALL OF THIS, while the AFK system is still on… oh yeah, baby… you still have to do gens, when the game is already looooong time over… good luck doing 3-4 gens, good luck hiding enough for the crows to not show up..

So here I am.. YES, hiding, because why would I do anything else.. it's hard for me to believe that there is still a "good" chance of winning the game in this state.. against a "merciless" killer, who would rather wait 10 minutes extra to get a few hundred extra points, then to end the game and get on with his life.. yes, the game is being kept hostage.. and this scenario that I just talked about, it's more common than you think..

The highest the MMR, the sweatier the killers.. camping and slugging is MANDATORY for them..

What I think the solution to this is, to implement a system like most games do nowdays: a "catch-up" mechanic ( not perks), where the game sees that we are really behind and tries to reward the left survivors with some extra gen speed or movement speed after doing some objectives or doing an amount of progress, I don't know.. but it should work both ways, if killer is behind in hooks, and lots of gens are done, he should be rewarded for downing or kicking gens… it's been proven that this type of system really makes the game more enjoyable for both sides.. it's not about rewarding bad players, it's about giving hope, that not everything is one sided, and all is lost.. this would fix more than the 10 years of trying to make a good MMR system, which we know it's never consistent or reliable.. some people just want to have a little bit of fun after coming from work, not everyone is a great looper or a sweaty player, survivor or killer..

  • It's been like this for a while, and it's already being used by most killers, on purpose. How many posts do we have to make, this is not just a handful of people complaining or raging for no reason, it's completely game changing.
