So trail is as well?
No because with that there's counterplay. You can see the aura of the gen and fix it to remove the undetectable and you know the general area of the killer so you have some level of counterplay. With Unforseen they just have undetectable and there's nothing you can really do about it except hope the killers not one of the many that have a broken combo with it.
-
Same reason why survivors don't see the killer in lobby. Personally I'd be fine if both sides had that information.
-
Okay but seriously unforeseen is kinda busted, especially on high mobility killers.
-
This sucks, Bardic could have been a niche but useful perk. Now it's just a pure meme perk and that's really lame.

While this would help this would feel awful for your teammates lets say you did share first hook imagine your in a match and killer is tunneling lil Timmy and timmy sucks at chase he gets down in 5 sec this repeats til the 6th hook and timmy is dead now the 3 remaining teammates who never got chased is on second hook cause Timmy burned through the lives faster then they could do gens like how is that fair?
To be fair at that point just leave Timmy on hook for 1-2 stages and escape. After the third unhook into insta down that's on survivors for unhooking the dead weight.
-
No, it's not a thing. Hits are only validated on killers side. That's why killers like the Huntress can get some really goofy hits and every killer can get hits from across the map. Ideally hits should be server validated but because that would make things more skill based a lot of killers don't like that.

sphere disables haste item from survivor. haste item from survivor is strong for making mage hand completely useless even vs a total beginner.
I would like see sphere grant Exposed status effect for 60 seconds but I understand BVHR is too hesitate to oppressive vs casual survivors.
That's incredibly broken and would instantly make him S tier.

Yeah I've been saying for a while that a secondary objective would be the best course of action. The only issue is if the objective is not mandatory, people will just ignore it like the totems and then nothing changes
Secondary objectives can work they just need to be worth it. Invocations are a good idea if they make them worth it. Boons were great until they deleted the good one and never buffed the weak ones. Sabotage may be worth it in the upcoming update but killers probably will still whine and prefer that survivors should be on gens instead.
Seriously look at what we have now.
Dull totems in case of NOED? You probably wont make it to end game if you spend all match breaking totems.
Chests? Most items are bad, maps are worthless, broken key is objectively worthless, med kits are… potentially good but like just find someone to heal you instead of spending minutes trying to heal. Toolboxes time save is not worth the time loss, this might be a little better with the sabotage changes but not by much.
Healing and saving other survivors are worth it but that's about it?
There's so many things that could work.
Like say, have a 'broken' generator spawn in the basement and by finding a 'part' somewhere on the map and bringing it to it you create another generator to repair in a place most killers won't check.
An invocation that when the next player would die they resurrect at the hook furthest away from the killer.
Being able to repair broken pallets somehow by getting materials from chests or something.
Some kind of plan B escape option for when there's like 5 gens left and someones already dead.
A perk that could 'summon' a hooked survivor from one hook to another.

Half the killer roster would not be able to get into a match anymore and on top of that stealth killers or Oni would have a really rough early game.
Oh no, killers would have to be well designed so they are fun for the average player to go against? I see this as an absolute win personally.
Sarcasm aside stealth killers already ignore any kind of perks that would directly counter them in their basekit, what's the issue?
-
Just… wait it out or use an exhaustion perk or add-on.
-
Learn from your mistakes, 4 man swf groups still have a less than 50% escape rate.

This doesnt work as long as survivors have an iq over 40, as if the totem is not next to the hook they can just get rid of noed and if they dont any decent team will just get thr 3 man escape.
Yeah I'm kinda assuming that the killer tunneled someone by this point. If you went all game and can't even manage three hooks against someone then you are just in the wrong MMR and should be drastically lower.
-
It's not fun at all, that's why I've stopped playing dbd outside of swf's. The game becomes actually fun then.
-
Literally all of them if you bring NOED and camp. Really I'm not joking, as long as you can get one person on hook you can probably get at least a three kill.
-
Yep and this is one of the many reasons why I always bring map offerings. Haddonfield is super unbalanced, we told the devs as such in the PTB but nothing got changed.
-
@Depressedlegion said:
Something I've noticed without slow-down is a good amount of the time gens go pretty fast, hoping they add a secondary objective to slow stuff down.
They are buffing sabo, so as long as they don't revert the changes survivors will have another possible objective that will actually be sorta worth it.
-
It's actually a net neutral unless killer blows since a person has to be off gens to Sabo hooks.
-
@solarjin1 said:
"What would you rather have? Fast gens or sabotaging hooks being actually useful?"
i think players RATHER HAVE fair counterplay! which is why ftp/buckle up combo and background player got nerf. The new alex toolbox with both sabotage addons allow survivor to take a hit, sabotage, and run off free. Go test it on the ptb if u don't believe (no DH needed). It obviously busted which isn't shocking at all. Behavior buff all the toolboxes which was pretty cool but they over buff Alex. Cap the maximum sabotage speed at 100% and I'll say the update is fantastic
Slugging. It's counterplay and what killers should do in that situation.
-
Nope, hits are still determined by killer so you are still very much at a disadvantage especially now.

I feel like the day Sable launched, everyone had already decided it wasn't cool to weave spiders before I even got to do it once. I went into it thinking, "Cool — we're all going to go to the basement and do this, right? Because it's the first new thing we've had in forever? We're all gonna do it, right?" And then nobody did it, and then I got griefed when I tried.
I've stopped using it because it's boring to sit there by myself and not do anything, but when I was using it, if I organized my whole build around it, I still did all right. I don't think it's as horrible as people say.

That would at the same time punish killers that might just have a lag spike or not the best internet connection in general.
While I think that using VPN for their advantage should be a bannable offence, since it’s basically cheating on certain killers, I don’t think there is much you can do on the game side besides changes to how hit validation is favoured. They could consider a VPN detection tho.
Yeah they should be punished. The alternative is punishing survivors with good internet for existing.

The funny thing is, face camping wasn't effective. Just boring. Proxy camping is basicly the killer tyring to not give a free unhook. Trying to delete this would make agency on the killer side extremely limited. There would need to be a huge radius around the hook, where the killer can't be.
Limiting the options what to do, never feels good. Having half of the map be a "you can't go there or you will be punished" - feels even worse.
Not a good idea.
FACE camping by the way is when the killer is as close to the hook, that they can smell your underwear.
It was boring but only effective in cases where the team was pretty bad. Exception being the old face camping, where the survivor was not able to unhook at all.
And the killers 'agency' is more important than survivors being able to PLAY the game because? It's not fun when killers can just guarantee one person out of the game and there's nothing the survivors can do to counter it besides just not getting downed.
-
If proxy camping is effectively 100% the same as face camping then that's an issue. A bubba can easily 'face' camp at a distance.

What are you talking about? Ping has nothing to do with whether a tile is safe or not, in the context of this topic.
What map rng do you get that you don't see pallet into pallet into window on the majority of maps? That argument is madness. This era of DBD has one of the safest tile spawn rngs that have existed in the games history.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3703639#Comment_3703639
That should only be a thing if every single tile in the game was a 50/50. As it is, there are too many safe windows and frequent safe RNG spawns of these windows to warrant Survivors being able to fake a vault with an actual animation. And hanging onto a ledge would look goofy as hell lol the Killer wouldn't even be able to do anything about that if they followed them out to drop off.
K then no killer fakeouts, idc

Funny how some of these people are like:
„You should expect your teammates trying to get you killed just for DARING to try to get value out of this awful perk.“
„It's your fault. You used that perk“
Like, yes. The perk is very meh. But that doesn't give anyone the moral right to destroy the Invocation users game just for.. using the perk the way it is intended.
Solution: Just buff this perk so it's usable and people won't see it as a killer perk anymore.
Idea:
• It regresses at a rate of 1 c/s or less instead of it regressing to 0 in few seconds.
• It gives 15 unregressable charges instead of 10.
• (Optional) The Invocation takes 90 seconds instead of 120.
Even then it would not be worth it if you added all those buffs.

It's always funny to me that survivor need a chance comeback option at all times in the game.
Meanwhile where is something for killer when they are on the back foot at for example 1/0 gens left and less than 6 hooks?
Edit: Outside of perks like noed, which is also been complained for by survivor since it's inception and therefore not a valid answer in my book.
The killers catch up mechanic is that once endgame hits unless they don't know what they are doing they are guaranteed 1 kill no matter what survivors do.
-
Only if survivors can fake vaults and other animations as well. Would be cool to drop off a ledge but actually hang onto the side.

Survivors are fine, but I do think some perks needs a:
1 - rework (useless ones, because others perks do the same thing, but better) and making they even have a synergy with others perks
2 - Buff (because the survivor gain nothing using him, just a waste of a perk slot)
3 - nerf (nerfing overpowered perks to have o larger build variety)
What overpowered perks are left? The strongest ones are literally just anti-tunnel perks.
-
Devs don't want survivors to have fun they just want them to die so killers can get a 10,000 kill winstreak.
-
Running invocation and actually completing it is an automatic lose unless your going against a baby killer and in which case… well you were going to win anyway.
-
Nurse because she's broken and we all know it.
Spirit because she's the literal definition of an accessibility issue. -
Quick gambit only works as a perk if the numbers are stupidly high like +50% gen repair speed since… well you don't want to run the killer near gens. Or alternatively just buff the current numbers to like 64 meters, still not a good perk but you would get some use out of it without having to throw.
-
@LapisInfernalis said:

Nurse is an outlier and you know that. If we measure everything with Nurse in mind, then every killer besides Blight and maybe Huntress, Spirit and Wesker would be garbage.
Use an average killer like Demo, Deathslinger or Nemy and tell me your outcome.
First off, hilarious that your admitting I'm right and that it is a problem but you are now backpedaling and moving the goal post to say I have to pick weaker killers. Second, just got a 4K with trapper, the second weakest killer in the game. Anything else needed?
-
Agreed, I had a game on swamp with nemesis earlier and from the start they were protecting an awful 3 gen spawn near the tower thing and shack. The game lasted like 40 minutes and somehow with two people being solo Q we did manage to break it but man it was awful especially with the zombies. Gen tapping should come back but keep the 5% or the number of regression events should be four. OR alternatively whenever a gen is damaged it counts as a regression event for the purposes of blocking it for all gens within 32 meters or something like that.
-
Mangled never should have been changed to affect healing progress in the first place, all it does is kill off any non meta healing perks. When was the last time you saw someone run reactive healing, resurgence, or solidarity?
-
@Chocolate_Cosmos said:
I didn't play DbD for few days and decided to play some evening 5 survivor soloQ matches today. Here is how it went.
- Legion that DC after 5 minutes of the match.
- Blight with broken Iri add-on and Alch Ring (still very good) tunnels someone early on, plays like hot potatoe, still manages to get 3K becuase it's Blight with OP add-ons.
- Xeno that tunnels and also 2 people decides to hook suicide early on. Nice waste of time and free lose as well.
- Good Guy, where also someone decides to suicide and give free kill early on making the match 3v1 and of course Chucky wins. Free lost as well.
- I was allready loosing my hope and sanity at this point, decides to give it one more go. So this time we have Bubba that proxi camps every hook, downing both rescuer and hooked Survivor with endurance ("Bubba can't do that" was a lie I quess since he can do it just fine and eat everyone health states). Plays Deadlock as passive slowdown that rewards camping.
Why I am even bothering with this game. SoloQ is unplayable mess and its waste to time even que up there.
People need to be punished for leaving games early or just make it impossible, this is unbareable. NO wonder why killers have 60+% killrates when pretty sure big portion of it is survivors giving up. Also still there are some unbalanced stuff like Blight getting buffs and still having OP add-ons, Bubba still able to facecamp pretty much and eat all endurances, etc.
I am just tired boss. Unless there is event with like 300% BP bonus there is no point wasting your time here.
The trick is, DBD is not fun for survivor unless you are in a swf. Then all the horrible balance can be laughed at with friends.

Try to get at least 2 kills without tunneling from the start and without any slowdown consistently and then we talk again.
Gestures to Nurse existing. Yeah it's not that hard.

It's not like killer needs to stay near gen for more than 10 seconds to "patrol" it, as long as longest distance stays same it hardly changes
And that's hardly true, having to worry about 3 gens instead of 7 will always be easier for the killer to deal with.

i have played and i still am playing lol.
limited yes, but making right gen decision still leaves huge zone that killer has to patrol.
Okay and that's irrelevant, survivors still are put at a disadvantage by doing their objective. So why is it bad for killers to be at a disadvantage for doing their objective but okay for survivors?

And how often do both survivors escape?

this stands only if you finish up the wrong gens and eventually lock yourself into a 3-gen, otherwise it's incorrect
… No it's literally always how the game works. Three genning is a worst case scenario but even a best case still has significantly limited the area that killers need to patrol. Have… have you played survivor before?
-
Normally it's the other way around and the killers get free hits. But yeah that looks like it should have hit.
-
@Royval said:
This just doesn’t make any sense. You punish the killer for doing his objective. So should 2 survivors die after 4 gens pop?
Survivors actively get punished for doing their objective by reducing the area that killers need to patrol.

At this point, just kick out killers with more than 40 ping
So in other words, you are fine with killers getting an unfair advantage that has no counterplay through the use of mechanics outside the base game. So are you fine with speed hacks and xray vision too? I mean why not at this point, just say that survivors should start on hooks.

Broken Key & Green Map are definitely useless alone, but they each have an add-on that makes them viable. For the Broken key, I use the purple ring so I can get a poor-man’s Bond on the obsession (more useful than you would think). For the green map, I use the string/chord add-on that lets you see the killer’s belongings, along with a slow map burning add-on. Those add-ons pretty much turns the green map into an Iri map.
But I get the gist of what you’re saying- the add-on that eliminates skill checks on toolboxes or lessens the noise of your repairs, are antiquated; they don’t fit today’s DBD. Neither does the map add-on to see the exit gates or use a marker. All straight doo-doo inventory cloggers.
Killers have useless add-ons as well, to be fair.
No, green key and map are trash. There's no realistic argument where it's not just better to run a dull key with the ring add-on instead. And maps in general are just bad outside of a few select builds, but those kinds of builds are so rare by the time a survivor feels like playing that odds are they have a deluge of rainbow maps to use.
And yes killers do have bad add-ons. But the difference is they effectively have 35 different 'items' to choose from. Survivors have five and a half.
