Survivors have 4 people and access to 16 perks while the Killer can only chase and hook one person at a time.
Killer DESERVES strong perks, Survivor perks should be weaker since they are supposed to work as a team.
No perk should increase Gen speed progress and no perk should allow Survivors to gain Haste without a massive downside, Hope's downside is that you have to finish Gens, MFT should leave you broken and exhausted until you are downed.
I do agree but a few counter arguments:
MFT doesn't work when exhausted???
There definitely should be perks to increase gen speed ESPECIALLY when working by yourself
You as a killer already have strong perks, faster movement speed, AND abilities WITH add ons that can modify it drastically

ive been brainstorming to the group i play with often that perk tags would solve a lot of 'problems', real or not.
'the heck are perk tags?' i hear you say. well, each perk is given one or sometimes two tags, depending on what they broadly do. kindred? vision / aura. dead hard? endurance. self care? healing / recovery. prove thyself? generator, etc. it would mean you could search 'healing' as a tag and get all perks related to healing, which pretty much already happens with the search bar.
heres the kicker: no more than two of the same perk tags in a build. you bring adrenaline and DH? cant bring any other exhaustion tags. have stake out and prove thyself? say goodbye to hyperfocus. means killers legitimately can no longer complain about a 'meta build' because there would be so many variations on the groups of perks. plus, it would give some lesser used perks at least a chance.
oh its not just on survivor, its on everyone. goodbye 4 slowdown perk builds for killers, as tags will be on killers perks too but altered towards killer objectives. heck, if tags are too complicated just use the points categories as a system. would solve or at least help out with the 'killer / survivors are only using [PERKS 1-4] and its ruining the game' ideology.
again, this is just me brainstorming ideas with the guys i play with while i wait for their skilled patooties to finish punish looping a killer for 5 gens bc i got tunnelled out due to my tunneling skills being as solid as overcooked noodles. any ideas / opinions are welcome, lets discuss!

I'm not. but I am saying that they being injured is a big deal if their skill is actually properly matched. and that the fact you only gotta chase 1 time is enough of a time save.
depends on the survivor. how much attention they are paying, if they wanna try finishing whatever they are doing right now, if they think you are chasing someone else, if you have any way of changing your terror radious or getting undetectable etc etc.
wanna ask a question? then just ask it. give me the scenario you think makes this unfair. otherwise... I'm just gonna say 0m. the killer can be on top of the survivor before they realize it.
it has happened a lot... therefore I say it's reasonable.
probably not the most common or expected. but I would not be surprised if it happened in a game during the last 2 minutes.
I agree with this, sometime when I hear the TR I usually wait till it gets to layer 3 before I move which then ends up putting me in a chase, idk if this is just me or..

@Volcz said:
Its because thats just the DbD community, particularly this forum and reddit. They blame whatever they deem to be the fault for them losing a game, even when they've made plenty of mistakes and are the real reason. A lot of people just have self inflated egos. If you end up in a chase too long with them, they blame MfT. If you do gens too quickly for them to keep up, they blame PT, SO and sometimes even quit. If you vault a window and they don't hit you as your vaulting, they blame Resilience and get mad that the vault got buffed/fixed.
Whatever you do, the reason a match goes horribly for them is always on your shoulders. Never on them. There's no accountability or self reflection, no going back to watch a replay of the match they just deemed 'unfair'. Just point fingers at the survivors. Its easier and the lazier approach so I do get it.
They also don't have anything to say about plenty of killers who 3/4k 90% if not more of their matches and even stream it while playing WEAKER killers like they love to complain about. I remember some guy literally made a thread about 1 of the best Doc mains in the world, said he was having trouble even downing people with MfT...well the streamer he was talking about, showed up in the thread and basically called him out on his lies, saying he's been winning almost all his matches.
I know one specific killer main who hasn't lost in literal months, despite playing on weaker killers. Not Blight, Wesker, Spirit or even Nurse.
People just want to cry loud and long b/c they want the same thing that happened to DH, to happen to anything strong a survivor uses.
Most of them don't even try to hide it, I've seen so many 'just kill the perk already, gut it into the ground' replies about MfT personally. Its hard to take the complaints seriously when its a clear pattern that people just want things that present obstacles/problems for them, to be nerfed to oblivion as a solution.
That explains a lot

This would make sense if survivors knew who the killer is. As it is atm they don't though although the opposite can happen, Killer knowing what perks to pick to counter certain items (as survivors don't have anything more unique going on for them) and if I'm not wrong Doctor has an add-on that simply reveals aura's right? As well as being able to see the illusions aura, which gives you info. So even if you brought Calm Spirit it wouldn't matter (correct me if I'm wrong, don't own Doctor).
Agreed, but Doctor is free?

Those two things aren't mutually exclusive. Something can be too strong even when used exactly as intended. Obviously an extreme example, but if there was a Survivor perk that said, "At the beginning of the trial, escape." - there's not a shred of doubt that it would be too strong. That doesn't mean that a Survivor who is using it is wrong for using it, it's not their fault that's an option that's available to them, they're just using the best available option. But it would also be perfectly reasonable for a Killer player to say, "This is way too strong." and want it to be nerfed.
Feel free to use whatever you have at your disposal, but if you only chose to use the absolute strongest stuff, you shouldn't be surprised when those things receive some changes.
I see.

@Peanits said:
The short version, because it's an online game. It doesn't matter which game it is, there will always be a certain perk, character, weapon, and so on that is seen as the strongest. People don't like to feel like they lost because the other side picked the strongest stuff rather than because the other side played better.
That doesn't mean that the complaints are invalid, but you as a player do not need to be concerned with them. That's for us to worry about. You can use whatever you have available to you, and you don't need to stop using something just because someone else doesn't like it. As you've said, the point of perks are to help you. If you find that something helps you, by all means feel free to use it. If it's too powerful, we'll make adjustments when we can.
The main point is that some people find other people using a perk the way it was intended "too powerful" which then leaves it nerfed to the ground

One of the few I will always complain about is Buckle Up with FtP. There's no counter to it except for going braindead for ten seconds or using Save the Best for Last, which is an equally unhealthy perk.
Isn't that the point of perks though? To help other perks into allowing you to escape?

Both mft resi and adren remove the "danger" of being injured and turn it into a desired effect.
Killer outplayed you and hit you? Ok you move 3% faster and can do gens 9% faster!
Its extremely dumb that the killer hitting a survivor is actually beneficial to the survivor.
The purpose of the injured state was to force survivors to need to heal and essentially waste the time equivalent of 32 charges.
Now being injured shaves 8~ charges from a gen.
Hope just guarantees survivors escape during endgame, when it takes over a minute just to get a single hit in while straight line chasing its blatantly obvious as to why hope is fundamentally busted.
If a perk wants to have a strong effect it needs to be time / token limited
If it wants to be infinite duration, it must have a relatively weak effect.
MFT, Resi , Hope, Adren aswell as a couple other survivor perks break the previous 2 statements.
Strong effects with no limits are fundamentally busted.
Injured literally makes it so one hit and your dead..

Yes but I was stating that we can't forget about what the weak killers have to deal with just because there are stronger killers that could have been picked instead.
Weak should not mean unplayable or basically agreeing to an auto-lose due to how the games current state is. Therefore both stronger and weaker killers should be able to exist in the game, without the weaker killers being an almost auto-lose if you pick them.
I see where your coming from and agree wholeheartedly, BHVR does need to do something about the current state, but for now I'd say weak killers aren't completely unplayable, it more just depends on skill level with that killer, which makes a 4K way more satisfying

There's a difference between killers being forced to run the strongest of the weakest perks
And survivors bringing the strongest of the busted perks.
What is a killer supposed to swap pop for? Eruption , that gives you 10% on a down IF you pre-kicked a gen? Jolt, for 8% IF you use M1s? SHPR where you only have 4 uses and sometimes you'll waste a token on a 10% gen?
I'd rather gamble pop sometimes being used on a 10% gen for the extra 3% , with the upside of sometimes knocking down 30% of an almost finished gen
Meanwhile survivors have multiple variations of endurance, busted combos like FTP+BU , MFT+Resi , multiple perks to slam gens with etc etc.
They're not really forced, I run FP, MG, sloppy and tremors for most of my builds, sometimes I'd swap tremors for thanat or jolt and I get mostly 3Ks (would be 4Ks but I give hatch to last survivor if they weren't constantly teabagging and being toxic), tbh I think it might be more skill based? People tend to run the most popular perks because they think it's the best, that can be true but mostly it depends on your playstyle and skill

not a single killer perk gives acceleration just like that and without any conditions, and most often the acceleration is quite easy to lose ("Play with your food" makes you not touch 1 survivor at all, tokens are easy to lose with absolutely any attack) except for Noed, but unlike nft it can be safely turned off, and this is also the end, you can just open the gate and run away, leaving the killer in the losers.
Nft that already enhances the most powerful perks of survivors, because it does not prohibit their use in an early state, and the effect is also added to the acceleration after the killer's attack, which allows this park to artificially, and most importantly extend the chase for free.
The wounded state is not a serious price, because in this way they resist whole killers ... this will essentially reduce the chase by a maximum of 30 seconds, which the nft easily wins by its mere existence, and if the survivor also has DH, which the killers are not expecting now, then he will run even more.
and what about the bloodlust, it takes the killer's most resource - time, and it is necessary that the survivors cannot run from the killer indefinitely, besides, "unlike NFT, it can be turned off" it turns off every time the killer uses the ability, every time breaks something and so on, experienced survivors can easily knock it down, that is, bloodlust can be resisted ...
when, like NFT, only the strongest, most furious and hated killers in the game can resist and how many of them do you think will become when the players they will begin to notice that the very survivor who ran away from you for a long time had nft, DH which you did not expect due to the decline in popularity, and there will also be hope ... won't this make the players turn a blind eye to weaker killers?
It seems that this is not the best approach .. at least its synergy with accelerating perks needs to be removed
I'm sorry are we talking abt made for this or is "nft" something I'm not aware of? Assuming we're talking about Mft, personally I'd say it's a matter of skill issue, like in all seriousness, if your a good killer, you'd either deal with a way to catch up and counter, or find another survivor to chase and hopefully maybe catch them in egc or sooner depending on situation, MFT IS NOT THIS DEEP, USE BETTER PERKS.

When I see posts like this I have to ask- do you think survivors should be able to loop killers indefinitely?
No. But bloodlust and other pallet breaking perks can eliminate this, sure some maps have like 75 god pallets but that doesn't mean it's a reason to borderline remove pallets?? Pallets are the only counter to killers besides perks that only activate once per chase. It's just bad pallet placement that a good killer CAN get past if they play it right.

MFT extends chases by potentially double to triple their length by allowing Survivors to reach Windows and Pallets they wouldn't otherwise, a single one of these can make or break whether someone lives or dies.
Why do you think Dead Hard was nerfed? For the EXACT same reason.
You talk about MFT as if killers have absolutely 0 perks and no abilities…
-
“Let’s just completely remove pallets so an already overpowered killer can get a 4K even though they literally have better aura reading perks than survivors, move .6m more than them, and let’s not forget all of the 30 killers that have way better ways to catch survivors than looping pallets, but that doesn’t matter survivors are a minor part of the game that shouldn’t exist and deserve no counter to killers.”

My post wasn't about Hope but with MFT it is definitely an issue, so idk what your point is. NOED got nerfed hard and rightfully so, doesn't magically make Hope and MFT suddenly okay.
I brought up hope bcs you did first saying how bad it was combined?? NOED still gives a 5% speed boost WHILE you already being faster than survivors. Combine with undying and a bunch of STBFL stacks or literally any other speed perk PLUS BLOODLUST?? I’d say you’re at a hefty speed already, so MFT was made to counter this, I’ve dealt with survivors combining MFT, Hope, and DH and still killed them. MFT may at best extend chases and give extra loop time which is the entire point of survivor, to distract and get objectives done. Use your power effectively (not speaking to M1 killers although being one is not excuse for an MFT nerf) and just get gud. No need for an MFT nerf.
