I'm hook suiciding if the game meets any criterium of my own:
- When I reach stage two and 2 or more survivors are hiding and crouching even when it was completely safe to rescue me, I'm out.
- If I looped the killer for 5 minutes and not a single gen is done, I'm out.
- If I am being griefed (hook bombing without BT, bodyblocking while I am looping the killer, etc., I'm out.
- This one is very specific but when you drag me to a corner of a map to heal me (which is stupid in the first place, because healing me next to a pallet is much safer) and you miss a skill check which results in a killer finding us, I will indeed hook suicide.
- If there are 2 or more people who do nothing but trying to flashlight save all game (AND FAILING) which results in no gens being done, I'm out.
- If 2 or more people self-heal the entire game against legion who has sloppy, I'm out.
- If the killer facecamps me and survivors don't even try to make a save - I'm out when I reach stage two.
- If the killer snowballs so freakin hard the chases last for 10 seconds and survivors do nothing but juggle back and forth to rescue and heal, rescue and heal, rescue and heal I know this game is a disaster already as no gens being done and survivors are incapable to loop a killer for a reasonable time. I'm out.
- If there's an afk player from the beginning to the end of the match or a survivor DC's or hook suicides after getting hooked by a killer and I can see there's no potential of escaping because the survivors are too weak, I'm out.
-
The core philosophy of this killer is flawed. No buffs will change her playstyle aka slugging because that's what she's designed for. I am still mad they didn't release Jason instead of this killer, what a missed opportunity.

This post has to be satire right ?

What I’m saying is the lights weren’t on at all. No red lights or anything. She one tapped the switch and it opened.
If that's the case then in game report the hacker in the lobby and create a support ticket just for a good measure. I personally haven't heard of such hack but it's possible it exists.
-
Why ? Because according to the UI lead it lacks crucial gameplay information like hook counter. It's made for the newbies who can't remember how many times their fellow survivors were hooked.

But the lights on the gate will turn red will it not? To show how close it is to being opened?
Yes. First light appears at around 20%, second around 50% and the third around 80%.
-
It's called leaving a gate opened at 99% and it's not hacking.
-
I don't really care about the skins and it seems new killers are their originals so it's possible to buy them with in game farmed currency. Unless it's a licensed killer like a pyramid head, I'm not spending real money and I don't see reason to do it.
-
So you played 3 games out of which 2 were against territorial killers who tend to lean on a camping side more than usual, thus you made a generalization that somehow the new UI hook counter makes all killers tunnel and camp? Nah man.
Hitboxes are screwed, hit validation is no longer there.
Map reworks look cool.
-
Playing at night is the worst, literally every game is packed with crouching Claudettes and Megs who cannot loop a killer for more than 5 seconds.

Can you maybe say what's bad about it and not just "iT iS bAd"
Because with the old UI just by glancing for a second over a left bottom corner you saw literally everything that is important, everything was packed neatly. Now we have the same information spread around every corner and side of the screen. It's resembles a typical mobile game UI.
-
The people who complain about the perk nerf do not understand why it was introduced into the game in the first place.
-
Yes I have. I was hitting a gen with an auto attack like a bot until a survivor knew what's up. After that it's all history.
-
Here's a magical button whenever I don't feel like engaging with the survivors. Really does wonders.
-
He's anti-loop and leaves little room for counterplay.
-
You think devs will balance SWFs around the top 1% who are destroying killers effortlessly? The vast majority of SWFs are casuals, I don't think devs even have balancing SWFs as an objective in their current pipeline because there's nothing to balance.
-
In this case the only objectively valuable thing you are losing is your time. Pips mean absolutely nothing because even the most mediocre performance is rewarded with a pip. If I get in a situation where I am being face camped I accept the reality and waste killer's time by staying alive on the hook as long as possible in hopes the team has assessed the situation and are trying their best to fix all gens and gtfo hurting the killer even more. Nothing brings me more joy than seeing a 1 hook 1k and knowing the camper got his ''entity displeased''. Drop a ''gg'' for your team and move on.
If you value your time, just don't struggle once stage 2 hits. Optionally try to escape and die on hook immediately.
-
I would limit SWF to 2 people
-
How about you explain why you think it's unfair instead of saying ''it's garbage''. That's not an argument.
-
Considering the queue times are atrocious, I just alt tab and do stuff while the game loads. I never dodge lobby as survivor.
-
I would put him in mid tier, he's alright. Not powerful but not a target for bullying.

I've played both sides for quite some time. I have drifted more and more towards playing survivor because of the fact that the less I play killer, the less I enjoy it. I've tried to analyze the situation and come to some kind of conclusion. The conclusion is basically the following:
- To avoid being antagonized post game, I stick to a playstyle that is 'fair'. This playstyle is essentially to not camp or tunnel. Problem is, playing 'fair' is not always effective. My objective is to kill survivors and stop them from completing their objective. If I have no snowball I have to generate it. This is no different from survivors prioritizing a gen over a health state and so on. When utilizing 'dirty' tactics to turn a bad situation over, many survivors chastise you for doing so. Even if you win the game, the survivors can deny you the sense of accomplishment by calling you out. This is especially apparent when several players chime in.
- I feel constantly evaluated. My playstyle as survivor is never commented on unless it is in a positive manner. As killer, however, it is totally normal for other players to comment on your decisions, blunders, playstyle etc. Heck, I do it myself sometimes when playing survivor. This creates a lot of performance anxiety as I cannot let my guard down. I rarely play new killers or tactics any more because I cannot cope with the stress.
- Not winning leaves me with a sense of shame. I have no idea why, but I feel much worse when losing in the role of killer as opposed to the role of survivor. This may have something to do with the co-op part of the game where you can carry your team to victory but still lose as an individual.
Does anyone else recognize this?
Pretty much everything you wrote I can relate to. You forgot to mention that playing as the killer is more mentally exhausting than survivor, sometimes I want to relax and do a gen and loop a killer for a minute or two whereas as a killer I constantly have to make calculations, predictions, etc...
-
Is it only me or when the game ends I type ''gg wp'' and move on with another match ? I cannot see how engaging in a chat with a toxic player is in any way productive.
-
Cleansing dull totems instead of working on gens is slowly giving killer a chance to get more kills. Eventually if he does have noed, depending on the team's courage it's possible to find noed quickly and save the hooked survivor. tl;dr time is everything in this game, thus prioritize the main objective.

I play wraith and chase at jungle gyms and unmindgameable pallets, I get tbagged and called a trash killer. I play pyramid and never get tbagged but called boring for playing a strong killer. Survivors only want to play follow the leader, anything other then that needs a nerf and counterplay (even though there's plenty).
This is actually true.

You should probably just add "What else besides spirit (...)." to the OP.
I don't know ANYONE who has any fun against spirit thwt is not paid actor or plays against an afk/bot killer.
Other than that, the generic iri head huntress, basic female dog builds on Freddy or me being the only solo survivor in a game with some 3 man swf...
Some of my friends like to go against her just because of the guessing factor also they say she is the real challenge and a test of skill. I personally don't find any fun in guessing so...

I face so many huntresses its painful. The new hit validation somehow managed to make freezer hitbox hatchets even worse.
I feel you. Sometimes they hit me when I'm already around the corner, it's really rage inducing...

so you didnt read my forum did you? The snowball effet explanation and everything? The fact that you have to spend all of your time running around the map to search for the totems? Yes they can be cleansed in 40 secs, but can last a whole match, so the boring rng factor comes into play ''So according to you undying needed a nerf because... instead of fixing a gen you have to cleanse the totems ?''
No, you have to look for them all game and then cleanse them. The killer either way snowballs, having the combo till late game or even being removed in the first 40 secs, he still buys time, for just having this combo.
undying+ruin doesn't cause the snowball - the successful killer chases do. The totem spawn points are known to players for a long time, if you're playing with a competent team then cleansing 4-5 totems in a matter for few minutes is something you see regularly. Please stop complaining about non-issues.
-
So according to you undying needed a nerf because... instead of fixing a gen you have to cleanse the totems ? lol ok buddy, you conveniently forgot about the instances where undying+ruin get cleansed in a matter of 40 seconds. By the way, you realize with the new undying the tokens will be safe meaning devour hope will see much more use now, will you make a forum post about that as well in the future ?
-
Dead hard doesn't even work half of the time you guys need to take a chill pill
-
But noed is a waste of a perk slot

https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/217909/did-killers-get-any-good-patchnotes-even-once
- more than half of the pallets and some god windows removed (cow tree and shack had two windows)
- vault speed buff (killer)
- bloodlust
- pallets vaccum removed
- exhaustion mechanic (perks had cooldowns and you could use balanced landing after you used sprint burst)
- exhaustion nerf (exhaustion recovered while running (80sec) so you could use multiple sprintbursts in one chase)
- most infinites removed
- map reworks (breakable walls and more loops got changed into "unsafe loops"
- balanced landing nerf (that perk is pretty much dead now)
- some perk buffs (tinkerer, pop (original 30sec on tier 3)
- d strike rework (old dstrike was even more unfair...like getting striked when the wiggle bar reaches 35% without hooking the survivor once)
- multiple sabo nerfs (hooks/traps could be disabled for the rest of the game)
- multiple healing nerfs + self care nerf
- two bnp nerfs and flashlight nerfs (insta blind)
- faster pick up + hook animation for killer
- end game collaps and hatch closing mechanic
some examples
those nerfs were definitly needes but saying that survivors always get buffed and killers nerfed is bs.
These are valid points but I feel like killers get good stuff 1:10 ratio when compared to survivors. Are they really that well tuned and balanced ? I feel 80% of killers are non-viable in a higher ladder.
-
Didn't notice anything in regards to pallets.
-
Ok, so we're discussing what exactly in this post ?
-
Thanks got it!
-
The only instance when it's survivor sided is when a killer goes against SWF. When going against soloq players I would say it's even.
-
What I did was derank until rank 13 and got the adepts on all killers. Some killers like Plague and Twins are objectively impossible to get adepts in red ranks, talking from experience.
-
Adjusting game balance according to the top percentile of the players aka tournament participants (dbd tournaments lmao) is a legit way to kill off a game. A notable example of that is Overwatch.
-
And even with all those perks she still died because you decided to camp. Man, if you don't see any hypocrisy in your own post then I'm actually amazed.
-
Another "new killer is op, please nerf"... Just kick victor if you're going to a downed survivor who Is next to viktor.
-
I just LOVE when the survivor mains start screeching from top of their lungs about how the killer has to be nerfed because "he's designed poorly", it really brings a smile to my face. Instead of improving as a player they simply DEMAND non-stop for a nerf. Hilarious.
-
These big brains always resort to logical fallacy of whataboutism. Just stop, it's not a valid argument and you make a fool out of yourself.
-
I mean if you do not feel an ounce of satisfaction while being chased by killer a.k.a the most braincells required time during the match, then I'm sorry buddy but looks like survivor role is not for you.
-
This is even more vague than Deathslinger's teaser..
-
I straight up DC when I get sent to Léry's because it crashes the game after playing 2 mins in it. Made a long thread about it and the mod went as far as suggesting to change my PSU (lmao #########).
-
If a Claudette escapes while hiding 80% of the game while Dwight dies after fixing 4 gens, rescuing 6 survivors and looping the killer for 7 minutes we all know who actually won in this scenario, numbers do not lie.

I can't remember if I've already commented on this thread or not but we don't more band aid fixes for this game. If you actually want to solve the issue then we have to remove the mashing aspect of the Struggle phase, that's it. Make it like phase one but without the ability to Kobe of course.
See? Now they can't suicide on hook and have to watch their character automatically struggle until they are rescued or until the timer ends and they get sacrificed.
It would also work as a good quality of life change as well, no one actually likes to mash buttons or keys because that just ruins the quality of your controller/keyboard. Also, sometimes when the frame-rate drops the game "eats" your inputs and you just suddenly die. Check out some older game-play in 2017/2018 it was a common issue not so common anymore but it can still happen if you're unlucky and there's no reason to punish unlucky players.
I really like this idea
-
I mean you could slug for the 4k before the new MMR was implemented, what did exactly change ?
-
Really one-sided games with the new MMR
