  • A big problem with this is most people who want to sweat in pvp games will do so in casual or ranked. Take R6 Siege for example back when I used to play it, ranked and casual felt the same as peoples ego just would not let them play casual always playing in the sweatiest way no matter what, mix in a similar toxic community and people would often quit or team kill for no other reasons than because they gave up and just want some small nugget of satisfaction(usually by killing team mates).

In DBD its kind of the same logic a heavily competitive/toxic mind set will bypass a causal/ranked system and most PVP team games these days usually have to put a lot effort into policing the community that it can become stale.

I think that if Behaviour want to fix the problems with core gameplay they need to take a page out of DRG's book and encourage gameplay that motivated people to play in a more healthy way and that is not going to be an easy fix as will require some massive changes to gameplay.

A thought that I had and seen echoed was to have shared hook states so when the limit was full everyone would just die at once reducing incentive for tunnelling and making the hooks change after hooking to keep it random and to reduce camping while on the other side adding new objectives for survivor that need to be done in a certain order of progression to prevent gen-rushing.

  • Singularity is an advanced killer with many moving parts.

Infection is what happens when you stay in the same spot for too long and is the central component of his kit.

EMPs are the key to negating him and should not be used immediately, the best times to use them are to deny important camera spots e.g. Main, Gens, Gates and loop spots doing this at critical times can really delay him for a long time as without them he has to walk there normally.

Playing against this killer requires a bit of game knowledge and sense which take time to gain so I can understand if you find him more complex than other killers but he is fun to learn due to having more moving parts.

Dude you're just purposefully not getting what I'm saying at this point. It's unbalanced. End of story, I gave you so many examples and I'm really done arguing

    Ditto

I detest cheap gameplay and easy wins. It does not feel rewarding loading into a match of 2v8, only to immediately nuke the entire survivor team with my friend on Oni. I'm not saying he needs to be changed in 2v8 with other killers, I'm saying when he's together with Oni? Their killer powers play off of each other too well and basically double the power behind it. I should not be waiting in queue for an hour just to have a match over in 5 minutes because survivors can barely avoid mine and Oni's wrath. ALL killers in 2v8 should have a system in place where their powers are adjusted to the power of the killer they match up with, or else we're going to have some seriously nasty combinations that will feel unrewarding to play as or against. Stop acting like I'm putting your poor baby Legion up on a stake man.

Ok as I said MMR is very wonky in 2v8 just because you have had good results does not mean everyone will. And yes you are trying to stake him? Don't take this out of context, like if the discussion ended with "Legion OP" it would be for an intended nerf. That is the point of the discussion is about balance for a Nerf/No Nerf. And unrewarding? Who are you to say someone does not find the duo fun/rewarding to play. You don't have to play them you CHOSE to, don't say "too ez plz nerf for MY fun".

Yet cooldowns are so low in 2v8 that even when ALL of that is achieved, Legion has their power back quick and is able to continue on their spree.

Yh at some point legion will get his power back if he couldn't it would be like ghostface he would be horrible to play as if you could never use your power. (You know you are supposed to lose a chase at some point right?) Even then it wastes time for him = gen progress = you get out. You don't hold him out infinitely just long enough.

You know for a Legion MAIN you really seem to detest him?

Examples? I'm not talking about SWF counterplay either. Solo queue. The main strat against Legion is to not heal, but then you're constantly leaking blood for Oni. You waste time healing, get hit again by Legion, and the loop starts back up again. Do you expect survivors to loop perfectly against a Legion and waste every pallet trying to get a stun?

Locker fake, 99 the mend, body block, force pallet stun, pre running and you get allot of pallets in 2v8 and the ability to rebuild them. Legions ability is a time waster yes its to make up for his weak capacity to down.

"Outplaying survivors" When Legion's ability is literally the deep wound warrior and so SO easy. (Coming from a literal Legion main btw.) When you play as survivor against Legion, there's little you can do to outplay them- they are fast, they can vault pallets and windows, they catch up so quick and though there are pallets it is so easy to dodge them and then get the hit off. Especially in 2v8 where there are survivors EVERYWHERE, Legion literally just spoonfeeds Oni his power over and over again.

Im sorry but if you are a legion main and you never run into counter play the game has just considered you bad (Lower MMR) and is pitting you against lower MMR survs (In 2v8 MMR is wildly inconsistent if even present at times)

What you're saying might seem true, but experience actually playing the game trumps everything.

Yes experience does, so if a 8 man (just the team not just SWF) surv team is all getting outplayed, they are not as good at the game as the killer, possibly not a great team player and are probably newer or used to lower MMR brackets which 2v8 does not take into mind as much so player skill is more over the place.

Yeah but in 2v8 there's no effort to charging his power. Oni has a teammate who also gets downs and injures, so every 2v8 game I have been in, Oni has pretty much always been in power, and always running around slugging people.

If oni's teammate is doing well that means he is out playing the survs no? Meaning effort has been put in and in 2v8 the 2 killers need to work together for better results. If the oni is on one side of the map while his teammate is on the other all the orbs clump up on one side making so oni has to go far for his power, I see people (me included ) who run to a corner to heal to make his orbs more difficult to reach. And as for slugging there is built in anti-slug he can max slug 4 people if they are not paying attention. 2 is the most common.

If oni has his power all game that is a skill issue on your TEAMS part.

  • First, 2v8 is slated towards survivors off the bat 1v4 = 5gens 2v8 = 8 so to make up for this killers get base kit buffs to down faster to compensate ok.

Now for Oni his power is supposed to be strong as it takes effort to charge it, to counter this Oni is M1 at base so is easy to loop, the best way to play against him is to not get hit and play super safe as Oni's thing is snowballing when he has his power. If he gets it split up he cannot slug too much due to the anti-slug built into 2v8.

If Legion is a problem you can 99 the mend, body block or just force a stun at a pallet denying his power and if they are together starving the oni.

I get this is not always obvious to people especially with the chaos 2v8 brings but there is counter play.

In a 1vs 1 you might be right. But telling one person what to do in 1 vs 8 when the other 7 are all mending is surely missing the point.

No because in 2v8 that is 8 chances to stop him on a large map. If the other 7 are mending then that is 7 skill issues. May not be able to every time like being in the open but you have 8 chances total.

I really don't think you understand the macro, so I wont bother replying further as you clearly don't understand.

Legion takes ZERO SKILL to get injures, that is just a fact. Doesn't matter if the Legion has 10 hours on DBD and you have 10,000 - they get the free hit because your skill doesn't matter. You're just resorting to strawman arguments regarding other killers, as I never made any such statement so you can argue that one out with yourself.

Pre run? Force Pallet stun? Body block? 99 the mend? Like there is plenty you can do against him.

  • That would make it so when they are on the same team NITHER will be downing people as the powers would conflict.

  • I agree this feels like loss sim, get even halfway decent survs and it sucks. 20minQ for a 5min game with little to show for it.
