Yeah no
The original post had more sense in it, because survivors 3-genning themself, refusing to use anti-tunnel perks and not helping teammates that are being tunnelled cripples them way more than what is listed here.
Kicking gens excessively doesn't matter too much as long as you end your chases fast.
Playing like a bot chasing the first survivor you see doesn't matter too much as long as you end your chases fast.
And you didn't put too much effort in making your genrush argument believable, because anything you wrote - that's not how you fight genrush, so it makes no sense. You fight genrush by stacking a hefty amount of slowdown perk, slugging and tunneling.
-
Your luck is now spent. Don't play a lottery any time soon.
-
This would kill any opportunity for the killer to set up a surprise attack. No, just no.

I'm talking about a system that lets people move onto their next match, an insta-kill button or something. Not something that people can abuse, like the ones that want to purposely make themselves unhookable, they would obviously want to stay alive. Casual players like myself, we want it to be over.
Well, if that's what you want, sure thing. Something like "you're 1 minute on the ground, press X to die" could save a bit of time.
-
Let's start with features that prevent survivors from being unhookable and then we can speak about the ones preventing bleeding out

How exactly should BHVR go about removing teabagging? Put crouching on a cooldown so the tea bags are extremely slow?
You crouch at the exit gate 3 times within 5 seconds the exit gate gets blocked for you and you are exposed

Basekit DS can be an option only if survivors will be prevented from taking hits with it.

I don’t understand why this perk is so problematic. To me it feels a lot like NOED. Both perks are reserved for the end game, theres no guarantee you will get any actual value out of it so it can risk taking up a perk slot and it can either really shift a game or not make much of a difference at all, and both perks are available at the very beginning of the game. The only nerf I could see being fair is that you’re no longer fully healed off hook maybe? And maybe not work against freddy? Even though adrenaline is what wakes the characters up in the movie. Idk. Anything more than that just feels like an overkill.
NOED was nerfed, it's Adrenaline's turn

Object of Obsession is an info perk as well. Are we gonna revert that?
Also UW isn't exactly in line with other info perks, since they generally don't have a 30 second window of uptime to reveal survivors.
Object of Obsession was broken because of SWF.
It would be fine if it didn't scale with the size of your Discord chat.
In the same way, Starstruck was broken on Nurse, but unlike SWF Nurse can be nerfed so it was dealt with in another way.
Yeah, and other info perks don't warn survivors they are being seen and also show their aura instead of just scream.

lol thats exactly my point. Killer have so many strong perks, that even those who only get used 10% are insanly powerful. Killer these day can jerry pick which of their strong tools they want to bring. Meanwhile, survivors have WoO and Deja Vu🤣
Sure thing, nerf every perk above 10% pick rate and the game will be healthier. There are way better candidates for nerfs than UW.
When each side has 100+ perks allowing some of them to have even 10% pickrate is generous.
But that means Adrenaline and WoO should be nerfed too.

A perk doesn't have to have a sky high usage rate to be obnoxious necessarily.
Distortion is about 8%, and is pretty commonly complained about.
Pre-rework Object was probably nowhere near 10% usage.
Sure thing, but UW is an info perk. It's not doing anything special other info perks don't do. It's in line with them, so there's no reason for it to be treated as a special case.
Well, unless you're going to say that blocking WoO is super obnoxious, but then I'm going to laugh.

Ultimate Weapon: Best tracking perk in DBD history.
Usage rate: 10%
Killer mains "We dont have good perks now".
Killer perk: 10% usage rate
Survivor mains: "OMG this perk is so overwhelming"
-
For everyone arguing for nerfing the slowdown with no compensation for killer, remember - the devs just showed the killrates being on the targeted level so that probably won't happen.
The best you can get is the Grim Embrace nerf which is probably justified

I'm sorry what anti-tunnel still remains? DS was deleted (in practice, as you only get ~6m of distance), and Off The Record/Borrowed Time are mutually exclusive. That means if a Killer hits off-hook anyways the perk is denied.
Plus can I equip those perks for my teammates? That is more often the problem, is my 300hr friend or (even lower hour count) soloq teammate (because matchmaking is a joke) gets tunneled and I can't do anything about it.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3675162#Comment_3675162
When did the standard change from "don't tunnel at 5 gens against casuals" to "don't tunnel EVER"? I read C3's point as (more or less) sweat only against sweat. The attitude of "Killer's don't need to tunnel" is derived from the hard evidence provided by the 50 matches with 73% killrate on no tunnel/no slowdown Myers.
C3 also didn't need to explicitly state "Killer" because the picture clearly shows "People". Unless it's your stance that Killer players aren't 'people', then I think Killers were already covered in the post.
Run DS and OTR. DS is only as good as you are, you use it after you got downed in a deadzone you get those 6 meters, you use it after you got downed in Garden of Joy main building the killer loses the game for tunneling you.
OTR might be countered by the killer hitting you off the hook but that doesn't happen as often as OTR deniers claim.
You might not escape anyway but with those perks you have good chances your team gets a 3 man escape which should be enough.

It's crazy that they are considering nerfing a perk that requires you to play the entire match with one less perk than you would have otherwise. It also prevents you from using your exhaustion perks in the end game. The trade off is already there. Adrenaline is not overpowered and already has downside. Just more nerfing perks for no reason other than they're popular.
They're popular for a reason, and the reason is that they're strong

Start running antitunnel peks.

Go help your teammates so they don't die at 5 gens

nor should they give u a free excape! but you should get a decent amount of distance which DS does not provide especially vs high mobility killers. Off the record can be knock off immediately so this perk isn't worth debating to me. "they make the killer waste more time tunneling you and give your team more time to crank gens" we gotta stop saying cranking is the counter to everything. Every strat have it own counterplay and gen rushing can get u kill in many scenarios. Gen rushing do not beat tunneling in solo q maybe in swf when u actually can call on perfect body blocks.
hit and run stealth killers - You don't crank vs a hit and run wraith. u heal and slowly pick off the gens as he slowly burn through survivors resources. Attempting to crank over healing can lead to multiple downs and snowball.
camping/proxy camper- If the killer camping everything than cranking and trading could work here.
3 genning- etc ....u get the point
cranking gens verse a tunneling killer usally end up in a 3v1 scenario almost every time. The question is how many gens will be left 2,3? The counter to tunneling in solo q is to actually be a good looper. that it! At most these Anti tunnel perks give u chance to play one more loop. At worse they do absolutely nothing.
If we are speaking about hit and run, 3-gen or camping, there is no subject to discuss because the tunneling isn't happening - the actual tunneling, not "I didn't heal after the unhooking and the killer has found me first".
Also, who was even speaking about gen rush? It's all about how long you can hold the chase when you are tunneled. If you can get help from your teammates those perks are even stronger, because you get more opportunities to get the help.
Like, you can't not mention cranking gens when speaking about survivor, there's just two ways for survivors to escape, crank all gens or have 3 people dead lol. Everything survivor does comes down to gen time efficiency.
-
I started playing in 2019 and it is nowhere to be true.
Good ol' times back then killer gameplay was like:
Wait out a Dead Hard. Every game. Every chase. Even if you wait out they might still use it for distance and you can't do anything about it. Fun.
OOO SWF knowing where you are 100% of time. Fun.
Key escapes, boy I LOVED when you killed obe person and everyone just evaporates from the trial. Fun.
Boon: free healing, wounding someone means nothing. Fun.
These days you might see an annoying Buckle Up+FTP SWF, but that's it.

They don't run them because both perks fail horribly at actually stopping tunneling. Yeah a great survivor can make use of DS but it just not feasible for most. Background player & ftp/buckle up do better job at stopping tunneling.
Those perks won't give you a free escape if the killer tunnels you, but they work - they make the killer waste more time tunneling you and give your team more time to crank gens. But survivors don't like teamplay when they aren't in SWF, so here we are.
In the same way everyone on the forum complains that solo q survivor lacks information, but nobody equips Kindred when playing a solo q survivor.
-
If tunneling was that big of a problem survivors would've run OTR and DS every game
They don't, so there's more important things than tunneling for them

Option 1 or 2 then.
Keep playing until your MMR gets to an appropriate level for you.
Won't happen on Nurse because she's busted lol

Making it to Iri 1 in 11 hours means OP double pipped almost every single game.

Stop unhooking in front of the killer
Stop running Distortion

Ah yes, tunneling a survivor for the first hook in the game, how dare they filthy killers

You can get DQed from a chess match for being disruptive and flipping people off. Like I get what you're trying to say here but BM as a strategy is very much not allowed in many games
That's my point.
In DbD it is allowed and some people protect it for some reason, including big content creators.
-
Yeah, even though the visual part of this killer is great I don't think BHVR nailed the gameplay part

I never said killers deserve to be teabagged for tunnelling. Not sure where you read that in my reply. They do it to taunt the killer so the killer keeps chasing them. Never said it wasn't bad manners. I consider slugging to be bad manners too but that doesn't mean it's not a tactic.
That part was adressed to OP, sorry, I should've quoted.
Slugging is different. Slugging during the match? That has nothing to do with BM. Slugging everyone because you can't hook them? Also ok. Slugging everyone while being able to hook them? No doubt it's a BM too.
-
@Nazzzak said:
Higher skilled players will sometimes tbag during the game to keep the killer on them instead of their weaker team mates. So it can be a tactic. The ones who do it in the exit gate... who knows. It's a game, it's not that deep, so I'm not sure why they feel entitled to waste peoples time.
It is as much tactic as showing your opponent middle finger during the chess match.
Tbagging is a BM, and the reason why people do it is the same as other BM - they want to make you feel bad. In particular, people do it at the exit gate because they feel like just winning is not enough and you deserve extra humiliation for playing killer they don't like/playing in the way they don't like/playing not well enough.
And yes, by saying that killers deserve to be teabagged for tunneling you are showing you are no better than other tbaggers, so you might just ask yourself.
-
I hope they'll nerf the screaming part of UW and double on Blindness, so everyone would finally admit they hate the perk because it counters Windows of Opportunity
-
Background player - whatever, but FTP+Buckle Up BS has no right to exist, I legit would've preferred it to be nerfed over MFT
-
It depends on my mood, but in general I can let survivor go if:
- no one was bm-ing or just being too annoying (aka FTP+Buckle Up plays, trying to flashlight save on each down, etc)
- someone was massively throwing
- someone DC's early
- they try to make friends with me by giving me an item or other way
I don't even care too much if I am losing or winning, might give an escape even if that would be might only kill
-
I have a hot take for you: 4 or 5 gens is actually the time to tunnel, any time later protecting gens becomes more of a priority unless you have someone dead on hook
-
I am not reading that wall of text, flamethrowers ARE counterplay

15 min would be fine, Dowsey queued for 2 h and didn't find a match, that is not fine... You do realise the difference. But yeah sure I would find that amound of queue time fine, however in the survey they BHVR did basically nobody wanted to wait longer than 8 minutes for a match... sooooo We're in the minority here.
Then MMR window should've been widening faster. Literally any other game with MMR manages to deal with super good players, if BHVR doesn't do that it means they don't want to.

You do realise that there are still not enough people to get constantly match with players with 10k hours and above or comp players? The same thing will still happen, maybe not for every streamer doing win streaks, but I have no doubts that for example Knightlights Nurse streak will still not be broken, just because there are not many 4 men squads that can win against a comp nurse.
Then let them sit in queue for 15 minutes, that was normal for top-of-the-top players in StarCraft 2, why give DbD streamers special privileges of making MMR worse for everyone so they can pubstomp for content
