  • It has been proven multiple times that Trickster just has a very high learning curve, learn how to play him before complaining, the right add-ons can make a massive difference in outdoor maps.

  • I dislike low effort baits, I'm sorry.

You just randomly picked a bunch of recent discussions and took a side expressing your fake point of view by impersonating the strawman many here call "The Survivor Main", honestly just a boring way to do things here.

I hope you had fun writing it at least :)

  • If you are not running a combination of DS, Sprint Burst, Dead Hard, Adrenaline, Borrowed Time and Unbreakable with maybe one of them changed with something like Iron Will and you are in Red Ranks, you are a liability to your team.

  • My personal issue with this experiment is that it only makes Killer less easy to pick up as it punishes newer players and doesn't affect veterans that much.

Just like what they did with the Ruin change, now Killers need to be smarter, better, with no compensation on the other side except the fact that new versions of the maps should be less unbalanced. Which isn't true yet.

As a Survivor main, thank you for making the game even less stressful, I had some problems looping sometimes and removing BL took completely care of two of my main difficulties, counting seconds for BL activation and blocking Line of Sight without losing too much distance to break BL.

  • I love this post, please post this exact thread everytime a new patch comes out, I think it would become a pretty nice joke like the Civ one.

  • I mean, a thread lasting 3 days sounds pretty good for a discussion already had hundreds of times.

May I ask OP an example of a "non-boring" Killer that stands a chance against good Survivors?

  • Asymmetrical multiplayer leads to mob mentality.

  • Y'all Killer mains just forgot to apply pressure like you should have, my solution is to take a sticky note and put it close to your screen so you are always reminded that you should apply more pressure.

You could also learn Spirit and only play Spirit until they nerf her to the ground :)

I heard BHVR has a secret deal with headphones sellers.

  • I have no clue on how you can't get a simple joke, you transformed my joke post into a bait post without my knowledge.

I don't get how you can take seriously a post that suggests the Metro Golden Mayers thing, the RBTs activating on Totems, complaining about the mask add-on for the love of God.

I am kind of a Pig main and I was just making a joke, a JOKE. I wanted to make you laugh, not angry. I had the most stupid suggestions that I could think of to make it funny but not blatantly trolly. Because that would kill the comedy in it in my opinion, just like a "/S" at the end.

I wrote it this moring in 15 minutes, victim of my own anxiety due to a medical appointment I had later. I needed some kind of distraction and I had the ideas for this kind of joke-post.

I'm sorry if I made you felt insulted or disrespected, it was meant to be a simple obvious joke, taking the piss on all the complaints there have been recently and on all the misuses of words like "to react" or "counterplay" I've read. Not a bait attempt.

It's not a Billy post, I couldn't care less about Billy, but you made me realize I should've added something like a cooldown on the Ambush Attack, something like "her throat gets too dry after an ambush so she needs to grab a water bottle in a locker" just to make it more obvious.

I'm especially sorry for the Scorpionz part because I think it was a bad decision to use his name in my joke. I don't know.

Have a nice day and, again, I'm sorry.

  • Moris are 100% stronger.

Moris are like what Keys would be if the hatch spawned after the 1st Gen was completed, even if they could only make the Survivor who used it escape.

    A petty, personal, quick victory.

If you watch the vod 10-15 minutes after the 1:30:00 mark he still talks about us when we’re not in the match. And you say that because we greeded a gen on main that it’s not casual? Also, what does perks have to do with anything? The whole point of the post was him calling us trash and other names while none of us were taunting, teabagging, or notification spamming?

You said you were playing casually, a 4SWF with OoO is not casual ever, just a proof you never cared about the other side in the first place.

That was pointing out a few of many mistakes you made, you are trying to disguise said mistakes with a casual playstyle manipulating the people on the forums who would watch keeping in mind the "casual" part of your post. You are "casual" because what you did did not work out, so it must not be "tryhard".

This post gives nothing to us if not that the community is toxic due to the asymmetrical nature of the game and that even terrible Survivors can reach Red Ranks when carried by the four good Perks. We already knew that, thank you for your insight.

I'm at 1:48 and still can't hear that. Honestly, I don't even know why I'm looking for it, you should be the one giving me the timestamp.

I like how you didn't even try to explain the racist messages part, tho.

  • MY DUDE.

You have one guy with 4 meta Perks, one guy with 3 meta Perks+OoO, one guy with 3 meta Perks and WGLF and one guy with an actual casual build. You refused to heal despite having a member of the team who healed faster to do Gens (You only healed when the Obsession was being hooked lmao), you greeded a Gen at the base of the saloon for like 5 minutes.

How on earth is that playing casual considering you are probably talking on comms? That's trying to play seriously without results because your general game knowledge is under the Earth surface. It's only casual because you didn't get anything out of the game, otherwise this post would not exists.

I missed the part when he call you using the slur you said but I actually watched when he said one of your friends deleted some racist messages he sent to the streamer.

He called you "garbage" and after a match like that I honestly can't blame him for some trashtalking. OoO in a 4SWF with a bunch of good perks is truly stressful. You are right about sending DMs, that's quite toxic, I don't know how common that is on console but that's the reason my Steam profile is private, I don't want a bunch of kids sending me dumb stuff after a match of cat and mouse with Micheal Myers.

Please give me the timestamp for the slur.

Also, at about 1:30 he said you were a "good team" or "good Survivors" complimenting you.

  • Don't be so horny in a children party game, please.

  • I love 3rd Gen but I think you should reevaluate HGSS.

  • A bit annoying but a necessary evil in the current state of the game, sad that they can be abused sometimes.

Removing self care is honestly a buff for survivors as a whole. Every blendette will just bring a med kit instead of wasting endless time self caring in the corner.

Playing Survivor, getting hooked and watching a member of your team Self caring with Sloppy Butcher or crounching around with Urban Evasion is truly a terrible feeling for me, mine was just a selfish wish :)

  • Moris, the current PTB and Self Care :)

Anything else is heavily reworkable but I wouldn't straight up remove it from the game.

  • I just wish for Combat Straps to stay as they are and for the base crouching to not get worse, they can do whatever they want with the other add-ons.

Want to make Tampered Timer something dumb like "Whenever a Survivor crouches more than 3 times in a span of 2 seconds their aura will be revealed to you for 5 seconds"? Be my guest.

    1. Sheriff of Nottingham, I love bluff based games and its haggling brings out the best out of most people, unlike social deduction games sadly. I really tried making Secret Hitler or Mafia work but many players will just call others stupid just for the sake of making them feel bad;
    2. 7 Wonders, I also love card games and its draft system is really something I was looking for in a game before I had the chance to play it;
    3. Bang!, card game with bluff elements depending on how you're playing it;
    4. Takenoko, very simple and cute yet enthralling game because of the planning sometimes required;
    5. Race for the Galaxy, quite a complex game I'm still learning, enjoying it a lot thought;
    6. Love Letter, very quick bluff based game similiar to Coup;
    7. Gizmos, very cool chain reaction kind of game, with a bit of planning you can make incredible plays;
    8. Codenames.

  • It's bound to become better after they implement breakable walls on the other maps so I don't think it needs a buff just yet, I think this discussion should be held after the future map changes.

  • None of my friends play this game and I kinda treat this game as a guilty pleasure of mine so I would never reccomend it to any of them. I also don't feel the need to play it with friends, solo is enough for me.

  • I stop playing the game for several weeks and turn on a single player story driven game :)

    Or Civ.

Killer is still the boss, the killer decides how the game is ran. If they want to slug, they will, if they want to face camp, they will, if they want to tunnel then they will.

the killer can decide how the match runs - yes, survivors can work against the intentions of the killer but that’s the point? To try to escape?

i can’t TELL you how to counter something because it depends on what you are best at, what the survivors are good at and a lot more situational factors. Best way to counter is to apply pressure by making sure to have a hooked survivor and as many injured survivors as possible - notice which gens the survivors are going to and etc.

im a rank 1 survivor, and a rank 5 killer - though I play killer less as i find the game to be too repetitive as killer - because I dictate the match.

also, if you want to use numbers and stats, then actually, yes, the killers are the boss in their match because all maps (based on statistics) had over 50% of a 4k kill rate, meaning that in every 2 matches, one is a 4k whilst the other one can range from a 3k to 0k.

I don’t understand why you’re acting entitled and trying to fish an answer from me on how to sort all the problems you face as a killer against survivors? There is no answer, you do trial and error until you find the best play style for yourself? Lol

I can't believe you brought up that statistics, they treat this game like a soccer match.

Honestly, you're right. After that "the game is balanced but I can't explain why because it depends :)" tells me I should not try to talk with you as I won't learn anything new.

Your explaination for your Killer rank is hilarious though, I have to give you that, thanks for the brief conversation and the laughs.

Killers maybe weren’t the boss in the beginning - when a lot of things were broken and exploitable by survivors - for the biggest part, these exploits are now gone. The game is currently in it’s healthiest state in terms of balance between killer and survivor.

A killer is the boss in the match, mechanical advantage, killer priority, permanent speed boost, etc. These are just the simple things that killers get over survivors.

SWF is counter-able, and I hate this argument. Solo Queue should’ve ALWAYS had a communication option because this is a team game, and most times solos can’t work as a team because they literally have no idea what everyone else is doing. SWF is not an “advantage” but a standard and people queuing solo set themselves up to be at a big disadvantage. You can’t play a team game when you can’t communicate with the team.

If you find kicking gens a waste, put on ruin. Find that ruin gets destroyed? Play spirit with TOTH, HG and Ruin. There are ways to make gen rushing a hard time. I play both sides, and I often run into killers that effectively apply pressure or monitor gens enough to make progress near impossible. If you enter the game with an attitude of, “everything I can do is a waste of time because X, Z, Y.” Then yeah, you’re gonna get gen rushed because instead of taking control, you’re allowing yourself to get cucked over by survivors and by that point, that is no one’s fault but yours.

late game does not exist? Are you joking? Lol you sure you know what you’re talking about?

Killer is still not the boss, the numerical advantage is way more important than anything you said and for that reason Killer will never be bosses untill they truly cripple Survivors which would be a terrible change, I agree the game is in the healthiest spot it has ever been but I think even still it is Survivor sided, as a Solo Survivor your only true obstacle is your own team unless the Killer is running a Mori or is playing well on one of the four viable Killers.

I like how you say SWF is counter-able but don't say how because of how bullshit this argument is. The "Killer is the boss" thing made me think you were baiting and now I'm near sure you are. If SWF on voice chat w/ meta builds should be the normal and expected state of the game (meaning they should balance around that) I guess I should reinstall Civ. You are saying to me that I should always play sweaty and that playing average is not enough againt people that clicked four times on perks and bought a microphone.

Ruin is a trash perk as it's not consistent, just because many people stopped respecting totems it doesn't mean Ruin is not very good, in my opinion the only Gen regressing perk that is worth considering is Pop and any build w/o it is bad unless it's a very specific gimmick that somehow works.

Late game does not exist unless you have NOED or you are very good at Trapper I guess, the game is over when the 5th Gen is completed, you can't force 3Gens and any non-3Gen setup is near impossible to defend against smart Survivors. Most matches are won or lost before "late game" starts, there a no comeback mechanisms in this game beside NOED.

  • Killer have never been the boss in this game.

Most SWF chill on Discord while playing and you know that, that's an impossible advantage to circumvent.

Kicking Gens is litterally a waste of time unless you have Pop because they can just tap it, if you find a Gen that is about to be completed you just interrupted someone and finding them quicker is better than kicking it, go around looking for him and seeing it getting completed still by another Survivor.

Late games does not exist unless you have NOED or a very nasty door setup. When the last gen is completed if more than two people are alive they will likely escape unless they're straight up stupid.

  • Red ranks is a SWF fiesta in an already Survivor sided game, playing solo is hard only because of your teammates that either don't know how to play to win or are trolling to get challenges done, Killers are still not a threat and the update changed nothing in my opinion.

You still have to play around 6 survivor perks when you don't even know if they are running, you still won't depip if you get demolished because matches last more than 3 minutes, you still have to run Pop if you want to have a chance, terrible Killers are still terrible despite the fact that smaller maps should help with map pressure.

After the changes I played mostly Survivor and the only thing that scares me is that in every match I had a teammate with Urban Evasion.

I guess 3Genning might be easier now, I don't know.

  • The only conclusion I had from that pointless experiment is that now this style of play will be much much more popular.

NOED has always been an issue like many other Perks because they're desinged to do something specific but the player can exploit them since the game puts you in a giant playground with few important rules.

  • Windstorm probably even if I'm addicted to the Bone Clapper

I'm gonna guess a difference in rank. The fact that you don't even see the Spine Chill + Resilience combo, let alone Inner Memes, says a lot about the Survivors you go against.

I do see Spine Chill and I know that combo but I'm baffled you think it's THAT popular.

  • @Demogordon_Ramsay said:

Considering Inner Strength is a very popular Survivor Perk, I'm still going to say that you're wrong. Survivors love doing bones now more than ever, especially since so many Killers have resorted to NOED ever since the Ruin nerf. And now that Ruin is apparently becoming a thing again, they're even more likely to hunt bones.

Strongly disagree, from my experience Self Care is still much much more popular than Inner Strength and the "meta" build of Ex Perk/DS/BT/Unbreakable with one sometimes replaced by Iron Will or similiar is a thing, I actually almost never see Inner Strength nor do I run it since I don't own that DLC.

I wonder if the differences in our experiences are tied to different platforms or different regions or if they are just a big coincidence, maybe it's just a matter of attention and I've actually played against many IStrength without noticing. It's interesting to me.

I ran Ruin for a full day just to see what all the hype was about. Every single time, it broke before the first gen was done.

Survivors don't ignore Hex totems. Only a fool who ignores Hex totems would say that.

Oh, it's not that they ignore them, it's that they often won't look for it instead of doing Gens.

With a decent spawn not next to a Gen a Hex Totem lasts a while in my experience. Of course it's not ideal and I don't think it's a good perk still, all I'm saying is that it's better now than what it was right after the nerf.

  • The forum or the Subreddit reflect the opinion of maybe 1% of the game's population, do not take what you read here for the general consensus of the community, just the vocal minority.

The new Ruin is actually decent because Survivors stopped respecting Hexes and don't go around looking for totems anymore, if they happen to run by it sure, they will cleanse whatever glows, but most don't spend the time to learn totem spawns nowadays.

  • No reason to keep two flawed pieces of game design in the game, might as well remove them and rethink them from scratch after a while.

  • No reason to rank up unless you want more stressful games, I often find myself contemplating the idea of taking breaks just to let rank reset do its thing.

  • UE and Self Care tied because they give me the same feeling when I see them from the hook; have to admit I didn't think about OoO but that's because I have no way of knowing whether someone is running it or not until the end of the match and I rarely check perks.

  • The only actual perk between the listed ones and the best late game perk in the game :)

  • I don't think allowing the use of a single God Pallet multiple times per match would be a healthy change for the game, I really don't know how you could balance this since not all pallets are created equal and you will eventually have to tune it around the stronger (limiting it due to the possible abuse) or the weaker pallets.

  • Borrowed Time

    Dead Hard/Sprint Burst

    DS

    Unbreakable

Feel free to change one of them for We'll Make It, Prove Thyself, Iron Will, Spine Chill or Adrenaline.

Put a Med-Kit or a Flashlight on and you're good to go.

  • Just fix Tunneling by giving unhooked Survivors a 60s long Sprint Burst with no Exhaustion. It's just that easy :)

  • I dislike increasing the ADS time since I feel like it would only make him clunkier/less fun to play and I think the Sabotage thing, while a good idea overall, does not fit his theme so it would probably not be implemented in any fashion since we know they prioritize flavor over balance.

In your head does a sabotaged Generator keep regressing when it's being repaired for that 5 seconds? Is it paused?

    He's not bottom, deary.

I think you need to go back to the classroom and look into that statement a little better.

    xoxoxo

Please elaborate on how a 110 Killer with a power that requires several seconds to get from a correct use (that needs aiming skills) to an actual hit and can be countered by breaking LoS and/or getting behind a wall after getting hit by the power is not in the botton 3 with Clown and Legion. Who is worse than him in high ranks in your opinion?

Side note on how he has little to no map pressure due to limited mobility and range limit on his power, not to mention the very precise hurtbox on the harpoon that can be dodged by tapping A or D; also he gets destroyed by random pallets since the chain breaks very quickly and you can't always reel around walls.

The only things going for him are the small TR and the ability to hit through windows after hitting with his power. Very good at proxy camping tho.

  • I heard Civ is quite fun.

  • I get what you are saying but why would the other side care about you when they don't know anything about you?

Unless you are including hackers, I don't think most people this forum calls "toxic" would even feel the need of justifying their actions, they want to play that way and the game allows it.

In this game like in many others the strong options feel unfair compared to the others but due to the party game nature of this game many people want you to play fair or by some kind of set of rules. There's no gentleman agreement, play however you want and care about your fun first, this is how the game works right now.

  • Killing Survivors is the Killer's objective, defending hooks is part of the normal gameplay, allowing easy saves 24/7 would be plain dumb, the moment you start playing "fair" Survivors will get ahead by pressing M1.

If you don't care about "winning" than it's fine, you can play however you want.

If you are talking about straight up face camping run Kindred and DS. Tell the others in pre-game lobby to do the darn Gens in case of camping and with this little thing you will cost the Killer at least 3 Gens. Then accept death and go next. It's just that easy.

It is true though, you people dont seem to be satisfied unless all 5 gens remain and you 4k effortlessly.

This guy just shows some footage of when the gens pop, what was he doing in those 80ish seconds before the gens popped? Was he patrolling the gens? Was he playing dumb?

Nah, all that matters is some anecdotal evidence.

The match is over when a party is able to put too much pressure on the other, Survivors right now have all the advantages they could get during the early game meaning they are free to put pressure (doing Gens), this is why many people say that most matches are up to Survivors' mistakes, in these scenarios they have an outrageous upper hand unless they messed up with the Gens' positions.

Coming back is an option only by capitalizing on a bad save (proxy camping), tunneling down one guy before other gens get done or simply being against the worst loopers in human history.

In my experience late game is not as important as the early game unless the Survivors mess up a late hook rescue, you are running NOED or they have 3Gen'd themselves.

  • Why make this post when you know people are gonna write "The match isn't over until all of the Survivors either die or escape"?

I'm sorry but by now everybody knows all the circlejerks of this forum, I see little reason to keep it up since we know the stance of the only people that matter, the Devs.

There is no solution, if you want you can just go AFK or stop trying and wait for the next match.

  • Immagine proposing a nerf for one of the botton 3 Killers

    Bait post

If not a bait post stop running in the open, a ranged Killer cannot be looped like the others but you should know since the requirement for reaching red ranks is playing a lot, that's why I'm assuming this is bait, sheer incompetence.

Break line of sight and do gens.

Also, really tired of these "nerf Deathslinger because people know how to aim" posts.

  • Thank you for the laughs, reading has been very fun, have a nice day :)

  • This has to be bait.

Just in case, I guess I'll give you a somewhat elaborate answer but keep in mind I have no respect for this feedback.

DS is currently the strongest Survivor Perk, a Perk which existance alone is a threat even if you don't run it. The Killer has to respect it or risk losing so much momentum he could straight up lose the game depending on the situation, especially against good players and/or on a specific map with a lot of safe pallets.

You can abuse the Perk doing your objective while you should be the most vulnerable part of the team being the unhooked person, you must be respected and possibly slugged or you may cost the Killer a whole Gen in a bit more than a minute alone.

DS turns the table like no perk does bar maybe Unbreakable and, in some cases, NOED.

Also, little side note on how since last month I've been playing mostly Survivor and I find it extra straight foward. I don't want Survivor gameplay to be even more effortless since even now you just need to sit on a Generator for a while and drop a few pallets in a chase to be very useful to the team and even PIP regardless of your actual skill on looping and decision making. The only thing that matters is not being afraid of doing a Gen.

This change would buff the strongest perk on the Survivors' side and make the gameplay even more braindead.

    No thank you.

  • They want it to have the only specific function of alerting you in case of sabotage, no more, they don't want a generally good information perk.

You should know by know they are fine with having terrible perks in the game, I think it won't be changed.
