Again, that's for gameplay reasons. Not allowing multiple of the same character in a trial could potentially mean that Survivors can be locked out of using their one character that they have all the stuff unlocked for. Not exactly a sensible game design choice.
Meanwhile, there is no gameplay reason to make Rin into a Survivor when she is already a Killer.
Just because it's for gameplay reasons doesn't make it make any more sense. Logically, it isn't that big of a step to assume we can have the killer and a survivor be the same person considering there can be 4 of the same person per lobby anyways?

No time doesn't mean no paradoxes. :P
The rest can be explained as gameplay mechanics trumping flavor. There is no gameplay mechanic reason to make Rin a Survivor when she is already a Killer.
There can already be 4 of the exact same survivor in a game, it wouldn't be much different seeing a killer and a survivor be the same person tbh.

Lol "The moment you start thinking it's a mindgame" is such a dumb argument.
Is waking up and wondering what you'll have for breakfast a mindgame too? What about deciding to ######### on hook after getting hooked by a spirit, is that a mindgame too?

No, this would absolutely kill her power. If they know EXACTLY where she is and she doesn't then we have a problem.
This means the survivors would have a very clear advantage over her.
Considering the fact that scratch marks slowly fade in behind someone half a second after they've been in that spot, I'd say it could be a good change. Obviously there's no way to tell if this would make her completely underpowered without actually seeing it in game, but I think it's a solid idea to make her gameplay less guess work and more prediction based.

Currently the mmr system is very linear and capped with the ranks being 20-1.
With a capped system an issue appears where you have players that are better than other players, but are listed at the same rank due to the better player not being able to progress further.
In the way ranks work right now, being at red ranks still isn't indicative of a player's skill. Anybody who plays long enough will just eventually get to red ranks. Although harder than it was before, it is still quite easy to get to red ranks.
If there was an uncapped system with say an unlimited amount of mmr points a player can accrue, then eventually they would start to be separated. Then the better players would start to play against the better players, and slowly siphen out the lesser players as the ranks get higher and higher.
An uncapped system would be a very welcomed addition torwards fixing the horrible ranking system we have now. While I don't think it would fix it entirely, it would almost certainly be better than our current 20-1 system.
As much as I like this idea, dbd is a asymmetrical game. It would be pretty unfair to lose mmr to someone using an ebony Mori as spirit with prayer beads, wouldn't you say? And the same goes in reverse. What if someone was memeing with a no blink nurse build? You would gain mmr for an easy win. The current system gives a rough estimate of skill which I think is fine considering there are alot of factors out of your control alot of the time in matches which dictate a loss or a victory.

I want a plauge doctor, would fit in pretty great thematiclly and there's tons of different things you could do concerning his power.
Make disturbing crows pass on the plauge (whatever debuff that would even entail)
Releasing rats that can hide in gens or lockers that debuff survivors with the plauge when they come near/interact with it.
Ect, ect.

Hook man where the killer can just grab surviors and then walk around with them hooked on himself his mori would be him taking a hook off of himself and grabbing the survivor and putting it through there neck
Interesting concept, but how would people unhook their teammates if the killer IS the hook. They would just die if they walked up to him.

- Combat straps + Video tape
if you want to use her ambush power alot (These are especially useful at loops). Video tape is an uncommon add-on and straps are common, so make sure to stockpile on both.
If your looking to play around her traps I always recommend you use these combinations:
- Crate of gears + Tampered Timer
Both of these are very rare add-ons. Used together they make the traps way more deadly and survivors tend to not take it seriously until it's too late.
- Tampered Timer + Jigsaw Sketch
Both are very rare add-ons. If you find yourself in games where survivors always get their traps off on the first or second box these are for you, also if they're very unlucky and have to search a fifth box (because if the jigsaw Sketch add-on) they may even die to the trap itself.
- Rule set no.2 + Crate of gears (or Tampered timer)
Rule set is Ultra rare and the other two are Very rare. This combo is not meant to kill, but waste as much time as possible without having to worry about conserving traps. Just pop one on every time you get a down and it's likely to slow down the game.
- Bonus set
Amanda's letter + Videotape (or Combat straps) and an indoor map offering.
While crouching with these you can see through walls at about 12 meters, perfect for surprise attacks and gen grabs!

About 20% of my killer games are ruined by dc's, even if I play pig or wraith.
My survivor games about 50% once I get higher in rank, if I stay in the lower ranks about 10%.

Iron Will doesn't just counter Spirit. It helps in most chases if the killer loses sight of you and you stealth a bit. I don't know why people think Spirit players are the only ones capable of using a good headset.
If you suspect a spirit is phasing then you need to stop running to negate scratch marks and walk to an unpredictable route. This works a ton coming from someone who has dumped a lot of time with Spirit and a fair bit against her. Learn to also adapt to the player, and catch on to their patterns. I think Spirit just needs a bit more counter play, an indirect nerf would work. She's not nearly as broken as people cry that she is.
Yes iron will is a good perk, but not everyone runs it. A killer should have counter play that isnt perk reliant that's all.
I run it sometimes but other times I'd like to run other stuff. If I'm caught in a spirit game when I run something else I'm kinda #########.
Also if you stop running while she's phasing, sure it'll throw her off for a few seconds. But if you aren't far enough away she'll just catch up again extremely fast.
I'm basically a spirit main but I play survivor too. She's 100% due for a nerf in my eyes. Make it so they can see the direction your moving or something and it would be way more fair.

Since the game is balanced around players rank 15-10ish, shouldn't the Archive challenges be balanced for that skill range as well?
If you're focusing on casual players for balance and want them to purchase the battlepass in order to drive them to play more, wouldn't it make sense that they would be able to accomplish the tasks tied to the object you want them to purchase?
What are your thoughts?
PS: You need 700 rift fragments to finish the battlepass. Completing the archives gives you a total of 352 rift fragments. You need to grind 278,400 devotion xp to gain the remaining 348 rift fragments to complete the battle pass during the window that the rift is open. At 500 xp per 12 minute match, this is 557 matches that may take around 111 hours to accomplish.
Good luck.
If it takes about 111 hours to finish and it's put for a month (30 days) it's totally achievable for dedicated players.
111 ÷ 30 = 3.7
So that's 4 hours a day and you'll have it by the end of the month.
Alot of people sink way more then that daily. And for the people who don't, you still make most of the money back and still get a bunch of free cosmetics out of it. Seems worth it to me tbh.

Spirit has counter play, some believe it's just a coin flip but there are tons of counter play you can pull off, anyways this isn't a discussion about spirit being op or what not, this is just a list from spirit mains, survivors mains, anyone who has an idea on how to counter her; i'll start
Running iron will is really good on her
Fixated is meh..
Lightweight can screw with her but not that much
Make sure not to bump into her while she's phase walking otherwise it's a free hit, like don't walk in straight corridors or don't be too predictable with you're movement otherwise you'll both cross paths
Pay attention to the phasing sound, if it's muffled that means she's phase walking inside a building or something, the clearer the sound gets the closer she is to you.
if you have a flashlight and you don't know if she's phasing or not then try to blind her, if the beam starts shrinking into her eyes that means she isn't phasing, if the beam doesn't do anything that means she's phase walking.
what other counter plays do you have or know?
Okay so I just want to start by saying I love playing spirit, one of my most played killers by far (I have about 700 hours on killer and 200 on survivor, give or take). That being said I think she's completely unfair to face if they actually know what they are doing.
Il just go down your list of counters and explain my thoughts.
1. "Running iron will is really good on her"
- Although iron will IS a counter, it relies on the fact that it's already on BEFORE you know your facing a spirit. That and she still has the ability to follow scratch marks in a Chase and can still see/hear rush action notifications
2. "Fixated is meh.."
- Agreed. If your an experienced survivor you already know where your own scratch marks are. Not a counter.
3. "Lightweight can screw with her but not that much"
- Normally only usefully once or twice during a chase, also it's a perk so it relies on the fact it's on BEFORE you know it's a spirit.
4. "Make sure not to bump into her while she's phase walking otherwise it's a free hit, like don't walk in straight corridors or don't be too predictable with you're movement otherwise you'll both cross paths"
- It's impossible to see where she is while she's phasing, it's a complete coin flip on guessing if you'll bump into her or not. AND if your injured and don't have iron will a good spirit will hear you when she passes if she doesn't bump into you and stop phasing to hit you.
5. "Pay attention to the phasing sound, if it's muffled that means she's phase walking inside a building or something, the clearer the sound gets the closer she is to you."
- This isn't a counter at all. Knowing of she is close or not is irrelevant in most situations. She could be chasing someone else, she could be coming to the Gen you were/are working on, she could be patrolling the area your in, ect. It's impossible to know and you have to guess.
6. "if you have a flashlight and you don't know if she's phasing or not then try to blind her, if the beam starts shrinking into her eyes that means she isn't phasing, if the beam doesn't do anything that means she's phase walking."
- This counter relies on an item you most likely won't have, and even if you do this and she's phasing while you check it's likely already too late as your standing still waving your flashlight around like an idiot while she gets closer. Another coin flip.
TL:DR: Spirit machine broke pls fix

As a PS4 player I don't want to play against someone on the PC. As players with a mouse and key board have a higher skill level ceiling than those with a controller, which would be an unfair advantage.
EDIT: For example a lot a lot of PC players can moonwalk, and can use it to juke the killer (such as the Nurse). Not many players on the console can moonwalk. I can moonwalk with a controller, but not as well as a player with a mouse and keyboard can moonwalk.
Moonwalking isn't a juke, It's only to flex on baby killers lmao. I haven't missed a single hit on someone who is moonwalking at me as they are still going in a straight line.

The devs won't give you the code, but you can create a chapter on paper, of course. Fans of this game are doing it all the time.
If something is good enough, there is the chance of making it into the game.
This is the sub-forum for fan creations: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/categories/artwork
I see them all the time but not a single one has even been mentioned by devs to my knowledge.
Im pretty sure they use Unreal 4 but I'm not sure if it's a customized version or not. If it isn't anyone could just make something for the hell of it yeah? I'm surprised noone has gone past the concept stage if that's the case.
