F1 is gone for sure, unfortunately.
The detailed information popup about the teachable perks is also gone from the new screen in the store (or did you find them elsewhere?).
But there's more. And now you can "Select" (using the "Select" Button) a char in the store, but apparently it only changes the character in your pregame lobby, I assumed it had something to do with the store (as you would expect, because it's a button in the store screen … lul).
I don't get these UI changes.
-
If you don't want to test these settings in a live game, why don't you do that in the DBD tutorial?
Also, "Reduce Signal Noise" seems for analog sources. Do you use an analog source/connection? I would assume no, because that would be highly unlikely (not impossible though).
-
It seems that everyone is trying to duct tape the issue (DS, longer DS Stun, DS Basekit). The problem is not camping or tunneling killers, nor is it DS.
The problem is the hook.
Perhaps Deathgarden did something very right by removing the "hook" (bloodpost).

I keep hearing that solo que players still need more help in DBD, but I got to ask..........Really??
I'd like to point out how many buffs solo que got in the past 2 years. Anti face camp, basekit BT, the new gen regression rework to prevent three gens, nerfs to gen regression perks across the board, a way for all survivors to see when another survivor is in chase, showing all survivors what specific action another survivor is doing at all times, the visual heartbeat, STBFL was nerfed, mangled is being gutted in the next update, solo que has gotten a lot of help over the years. The one other thing they tried was basekit unbreakable, but that PTB it was tried in showed why that should never be attempted again.
I gotta ask, what more do you want?? Basekit 5 second DS? Basekit Kindred? When will it be enough? At what point will they be satisfied?
I didn't know that visual heartbeat was a solo queue buff. Looks like I learned something new today.
Also, it's quite amusing how people (I wonder if those are mostly killer mains) emphasize that STBFL was nerfed, but never mention that killers received a basekit buff equal to 2 STBFL stacks. So, in the end, nothing really changed (except that you don't need to earn the equivalent of 2 STBFL stacks anymore).
Strange, isn't it?

Do we have potatoes on average or SEAL Team SIX SWFs on average?

I would invite you to stream how you can hero 12 hooks consistently to Kill. We all would find it very illustrative and show the vast majority of Killer player base that by the looks of it... everyone is a "filthy tunneler".
Personally, I proxy camp and camp and tunnel as I see fit. I am not bound by the fictional rules imposed by Survivors to Killers to make it extra cheesy and easy to win. But, I gotta say, I would like to hear your strategy not to proxy camp when a Survivor is rescued in your face.
Also, in my particular case, when I see someone is unhook I just approach the area if I am close and I see Survivors healing as I run Nurses's calling often (so much healing, you must be stupid not to bring that perk), and I hit whoever I can hit people tend to think you actually keep the count.
Like today I had a match in which I realistically I did not tunnel at all (not like I care) yet still they had that impression and at the end they told me "A player and B player still were in first hook".
Like what the heck? I am supposed to keep track to ensure "The Right Order To Kill Survivors" now? maybe when it's displayed in the screen.

That's the ######### we have to deal with in order to entertain Survivors, as free labour for BHVR mind you.
What do you even mean by "deal with"?
If you argue with people in the post game chat, that's completely on you. There's literally nothing to deal with. Just press CONTINUE. That's it.

I missed the part where the game is killer sided when survivors have the tools to deal with every killer in the game except Nurse.
- I'm pretty sure you don't want an anti gen regression perk as a killer (or would this be a perk similar to "No Mither" but for killers?)
- Let's not start with yet another "game is x-sided" angle

Let's say for a moment that instead of a slider, we had Shadowborn basekit with the option to switch back to 87 FOV. That would functionally make Shadowborn basekit while still allowing people who don't like higher FOV to switch back.
The amount of people who think this would be an unfair change is extremely weird to me. Borrowed Time was widely regarded as one of the strongest meta perks in DBD's history. And yet when it was made basekit, most people accepted it as being necessary for the game's health, because it was a good change and we recognized it as such. I recently found this Reddit post from 8 months ago (pre-basekit BT change) offering to trade basekit BT for basekit Shadowborn. Survivors got one of their strongest perks for free, while killers would've been getting a basic quality-of-life/accessibility perk in exchange. Fast forward to now, and it's hard to feel like this post hasn't aged like fine milk.
Why, then, do people react so strongly when Shadowborn basekit gets brought up? It's fine for a meta perk to become basekit in the name of game health, but it's not fine for a meme perk that some don't even consider a perk in the first place? It makes no sense to me. In the 6 years this game has been out I have seen countless posts complaining that they can't play certain killers - or killer at all - without Shadowborn, and yet somehow people still think it would be a bad change. I don't get it.
I was fully on-board with the basekit BT change, and I would be even more on-board with basekit Kindred. But at some point you just have to think - with so many perks becoming basekit, why shouldn't we have Shadowborn base? At the risk of sounding like an entitled killer one-trick, it just feels unfair. Idk. I get that not everyone suffers from motion sickness, but it still feels bad to have to waste a perk slot to not feel nauseous.
Sorry for the rant, I'm just sad and feel kinda scorned that we've heard nothing from BHVR about the slightest possibility of adjustable FOV.
Sorry, but I just can't follow the thought process.
Now according to you, BT is/was the strongest Perk. But the constant crying (at least if you followed this forum regulary) was about DeadHard instead. Some people said that Iron Will was the strongest Perk (Scott Jund was one of them). But for others it was Object of Obsession (you know, because of the whole "see the killer at all times and relay his exact GPS coordinates to all team members in realtime while someone is in a chase to counter any killer mindgames"-trope). Lot's of people, lot's of opinions. But sure as hell there no consensus about "THE STRONGEST PERK"™.
So why again is this about "BT for Shadowborn"? Because you sifted through the Internet and found ONE post on reddit about it.
Also, BT becoming basekit was just another bandaix fix for a gameplay issue. Prior to Patrick mentioning it in a dev stream there were no discussions about making BT basekit, aka getting a bandaidfix. And nobody needed to be "onboard" with any of the changes anyway, because the devs just change things.
And people mentioning their ailments to justify game changes when it's convenient (Flashlights causing "epileptic episodes", now FOV causing nausea), just rubs me the wrong way and it feels like those people are desperately looking for any reason to act as a "PRO" because they just don't have strong arguments to make their case.

That sounds extremely abusable by people that would just flood their own net on purpose to lock people into the game
It doesn't sound extremely abusable at all.
Until everybody can move, the game should not be considered "in progress". As long as it's not "in progress" the server should be able to cancel the match at all times (so people can start to look for a new match). This includes situations where a player has an abysmal latency or other connectivity issues (may those be unintentional or intentional/malicious) during the loading phase.

An old anti-camping mechanic from years ago (four? more?) never made it into live because too easy to exploit.
Here I'm hoping the current version will not make it even into the PTB.
Let's call a spade a spade: the old anti-camping mechanic didn't make it into live, because the solution was flawed. It had a flaw that could have been corrected, but nobody at BHVR ever fixed the flaw.
After 6 years of fixing most of the game issues with perks ... entering: the Bandaid as a Perk aka "Reassurance".
And btw. it didn't really help, that most of the discussions about fixing the camping issue were shut down by people parroting the good old sentence "has been tried and abused" (without mentioning that it could have been fixed).
Anyway, that's off topic, yet it had to be said.

Come on fellow players. Just scan the QR Code with your "mobile device" and get those Bloodpoints. You know YOU WANT IT!
Did I already mention how the Bloodpoints do not count towards the cap?
Btw. nothing nefarious will happen to you or be done with the data Amazon (or other parties) will collect, OK? It's all just a good deed, to you, the fellow player!
Trust me. And trust Amazon. And trust every other company that may get the meta data as well.
Look at the 400k juicy blood money, ehhhh, I mean Bloodpoints. All you have to do is scan the QR Code with your "mobile device".
Do it already. You need the Bloodpoints, so scan the code! Just forget about the part where some data may or may not be collected and concentrate on the part where YOU PROFIT!
It's easy. JUST. SCAN. THE. CODE.

I'm still waiting for them to implement the system that checks what the overall escape was and reflect that on your mmr. It sucks when you get caught at the end of the game and your teammates just leave and so you're only one who dies and take the full mmr hit.
The current state of SBMM/MMR (what ever it currently does, or not) is the result of a two-year-journey. In the Q&A Livestream January 2022 SBMM details were presented by Patrick, and we got to know that all it takes is a "win" according to BHVRs win-condition (kills/escapes) to raise your hidden SBMM/MMR rating.
Remember, that's the result of a two-year-journey. It took them 2 years to come up with something that is as unsophisticated as it can be. You're expecting something that is orders of magnitudes more complex. 😋 😂 They have a couple of values they can tweak, and they will keep tweaking them. Forth and back, forth and back. That's it.
I'm not trying to be negative, but let's be realistic: the things you want to have in the game, they are not going to happen.
-
What I want to see is:
PRESTIGE IMPROVEMENT - THE "PRESTIGE BOOST"
A new char always starts with "Prestige 1" instead of "Prestige 0". Call it a Prestige Boost, or whatever. When you buy a new char, that's what happens. You get "Prestige 1" automatically, just like that, you don't need to do anything, it just happens.
This means, you've already got the "teachable" Perks Tier 1 on all chars (Quality of Life improvement), and you only need to do two more Prestiges to get to Prestige 3 (another Quality of Life improvement). This also closes the gap between people that have a lot of time to play the game (and earn lot's of Bloodpoints to grind the Prestiges), and those that don't have a lot of time but still want to enjoy the game. (think about it, the player demographic is changing, people don't go to school or university indefinitely, and they will have less time once that happens)
PRESTIGE IMPROVEMENT - THE PRESTIGE PENALITY NOBODY ASKED FOR
Remove the Prestige Penalty (currently 20k Bloodpoints). Simple as that. Prestiging is not optional anymore, it's mandatory if you want to buy more nodes in the blood web. Nobody should be penalized to use the Prestige Button, when it's literally forced on them.
BLOODWEB IMPROVEMENT - SPEED UP THE ENTITY
The first blood webs are fine and fast enough. But once the entity kicks in and buys more and more nodes in the blood web, the whole animation thing it's just so awfully slow and just hinders your workflow, it's just so disrupting. Just speed up the entity animation. Shouldn't be that hard. I don't want to wait for the computer, it should always be the other way around (computers should wait for user input). And I don't care if they supposedly already sped it up, it's too slooooooow.
BLOODWEB IMPROVEMENT - SOUNDS
Blood web sounds, buying nodes, are just loud and mostly annoying. A lot of people turn down the in-game "Main Volume" to zero before they buy nodes in the Bloodweb, I do the same but with the Windows Volume Mixer. Why is that? Exactly, because Blood web sounds are loud and mostly annoying. So just turn down the volume of Blood web sounds or provide a volume control in the "Audio" settings so we can do it ourselves. Another Quality of Life improvement.

It's just you 😋

The last time some details about game performance were dropped by the Community Managers, they emphasized that DBD is CPU bound and not GPU bound (who knows why ... Mom's Spaghetti?). So even if UE5 helps to utilize the GPU more efficiently, it probably won't help with the current DBD performance issues.

The Prestige Penalty is still not ok. Players are punished by a game mechanic that is forcing them to waste blood points in order to make progress.

There is absolutely nothing that has changed with that perk or toolboxes where they would suddenly be better to their pre-6.1.0 variants unless we pretend survivors are a hivemind who have been holding back this entire time and only now are bringing toolboxes and running prove thyself. I saw both of those regularly pre 6.1.0 and continue to see them regularly since the patch.
The devs have published statistics about the most used Perks on both sides, Prove Thyself was not part of said statistics (neither among the Top 5, nor Top 12).
As you might know, Dead by Daylight’s META (most effective tools available) has been an ongoing topic of discussion for some time.Using things to decrease gens times is now more beneficial than ever, since the window of opportunity for a killer to interrupt a gen (higher gen duration, potentially shorter chases) has been spread wider, compared to pre-patch. You don't need a hive mind to understand that. The same way you don't need a hive mind to understand that stacking slowdown perks is now more beneficial than pre-patch.
And even though there's no hive mind, killers keep stacking them slowdowns. Strange eh?

Screwing with you for how long? I honestly need to know how they did that. I want to gain blood points that fast too. That seems almost impossible. After 4:30 I would probably leave with 10k + escape points. Also, they must have been on gens at least with 2 people to get coop repair bonuses, which means less chase interaction. WEIRD

The only "Valid Complaints" Survivors have right now is about all the Survivors who are rage quitting and suiciding on hook. Everything else is just whining they can't bully like the used to. I play solo Survivor 90% of the time, and I've pulled off insane plays that would make SWF groups blush. I've faced "Forever Plague and Legion". The only times those went bad is when others quit, at the very least all 5 gens got done. Usually at least 2 escape. I've never used the old meta and currently use Flash Bang, Lightweight, We'll Make It, and Iron Will. I'm Gold 1 Survivor and on my way to Irri Survivor.
Camping and tunneling is nothing more than Survivors complaining about "MAH 1v1"!!! This is a 1v4, not a 1v1 FOUR TIMES OVER. It's not like the other Survivors magically stop repairing gens while the killer is chasing someone. If someone gets screwed, then that sucks for them. Deal with it. Waste as much time as you can, and take solace in the fact you lasted enough to get 2-3 gens done for them. Survivors are already fighting back pretty easy with stacking in Leader and Prove Thyself. Not tot mention they could bring tool boxes for even faster Gens.
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/M0U2HLIAACUQ/gen-rush.png
This match lasted a total of 4:30 seconds. So you can guess what'll happen when Survivors get even more buffs. Not to mention if the developers nerf slow downs even more. This only had ONE Prove Thyself too. They wouldn't even need the BNP and tool boxes if they had more. Survivors have a PLETHORA if ways to fight back against slowdown perks on Killer. That they don't use them is their problem, not the Killers. It's also not on the developers to coddle them either.
So yes, this is about Survivors wanting to bully. They don't want to bring speed up perks like We'll Make It to speed up heals. They don't want to bring Prove Thyself and Leader. They want to stack in Endurance and 2nd chance perks. They are equivalent of slow down perks for Survivor, by extending chases. Bonus that they can shove it in the Killers face that they can't be taken down and hooked quickly. It's about being defiant, and "bullying the power role."
I'm sick and tried of Survivors using the "That's not fun" doing the gens and getting out. It's SURVIVOR, not "HERO" where you get to fight back. If Survivors can't figure out to fight back slow down with speed up perks, (and items too), then that's ON THEM.
Survivors can still EASILY break the Killers "Slow Down" meta with Speed Up perks and items. They just don't WANT TO. They WANT to bully killers. Many WANT to be toxic while bullying killers with 2nd chance perk stacking. Stop coddling Survivors because they decided to shoot themselves in the foot.
4:30 and the survivors gained 33k, 29k, 26k and 24k?
How is that even possible?
-

Sure, I’m aware that it’s a voluntary poll of players who are presumably already invested enough in the game to seek out a stat site. That doesn’t change anything I said.
It could mean that there's simply not enough data for it to be statistically significant. And it could indicate that the data that is there, is already skewed by the fact that it's only collected by enthusiasts.
Your arguments are based on that data. So ...
I'm glad people are trying to collect data, but it would be more useful if the devs would just be more transparent about these kind of things, as they have all of the data.

The kill rate on the aggregate site I’m following is about 56% up from 49%. It’s an increase but it’s far from a guaranteed 4k, you still need to outplay the survivors. (And that’s also been true in my games. When I play better than the survivors I typically win, when I whiff attacks or fail to find survivors who are hiding I tend to lose. Misplays have always been the most important factor in determining the winner.)
If by "aggregrate site" you're referring to nightlight, then please be aware that this represents most likely only PC Players, and just a small part of them who participate voluntarily, which probably are DBD enthusiasts but not DBD casual players. Their Discord server has 147 members, which should give you a ballpark number of the nightlight community size.

Survivors get 2 chances at escapes for free. And there's no real way to stop that as killer but find it first. So i think both sides should have that option when the games basically over.
Those chances are as "free" as the 5 gens that killers are supposed to defend in order to prevent a 4-survivor-escape.

Hi guys, Don't get me wrong, I'm so happy this unhealthy perk is going away from this game.
But, now that survivors would not be able to make risky loops, I fear that we are going to see much more pre droppings.
As we all know, the REAL issue of dbd which the devs aren't adressing - are the MAPS. If you see comp tournaments, people that are considered the best loopers in the game are just pre dropping pallets like baby survivors because they know they have enough(strong enough too) to help their team finish the game.
Now, survivors won't rely on DH to play risky and preserve resources, they'll give pallets fast and since most of them are so safe, we are going to see the biggest issue of DBD exposed - too many strong pallets in too large maps.
Just wait and see.
Maybe you're right. Maybe it will expose that maps do have a lot more flaws than we were aware of.
But we'll have to see if that's really the case, and if so, what those flaws are. Unfortunately you do preempt the result of such an analysis. And be aware, it might also reveal issues that swing the other way (aka: you might not like it).

But with that logic, shouldn't you also be able to grab the survivor doing the healing? You can grab during sabos and gens, so if you can't hit the downed survivor it should logically transition into a grab. Do you get what I mean or am I not explaining this well?
When you are talking about grabbing during sabos and gens (which also applies to window and pallet vaults, cleansing totems, etc.), the survivor is interacting with an inanimate object.
When a survivor is healing another survivor, it's an interaction with a animate object.
Two different contexts, two different outcomes.

It is impossible to remove camping.
That doesn't mean that we couldn't (and shouldn't) make it less effective.
Ideally, no Killer should ever feel the need to camp anyone out (ignoring certain nieche scenarios such as an open exit gate right next to the hook ofc). Camping should not be the best strategy available - that means we need to both make it less effective while simultaneously making other strategies more effective.
It's not impossible to remove camping. BHVR already gathered a lot of experience in doing exactly that in Deathgarden.
The thing is that removing camping from DBD means a lot of things would have to be changed and re-balanced. And while a lot of people claim that they like to "shake the meta" and that they like to see new stuff evolve in DBD (including: removing camping), most people probably wouldn't put their money where their mouth is.

True
but honestly these days u need more than a PhD to play killer, mainly because either face people who have no idea what they are doing or 4 stack 3k hours SWF,
but still killers need to manage time, take smaller routes, pressure gens, deal with boons, dodge flashlights, find a secondary hook if the first one gets sabotages, mindgame certain pallets (the perspective of a D tier killer not A or S)
and survivors literally need to do gens, and maybe loop here and there take a hit go to the boon heal and do all over while the other 3 are popping gens every 5 seconds
so you could kinda see why a lott of people say survivor takes no skills and i kinda agree i turn off my brain when i play survivor and i honestly win 70% unless i get camped, sure its fun sometimes when its a huntress and u get that rush of dodging hatches but most of the time its just boring
I think you're vastly overestimating your role as a killer.
- Dodging flashlights usually comes down to faking a pickup and/or looking at a wall, it's literally "muscle memory".
- Dealing with a boon takes a second, often times you can even do it while being in a chase (in case the survivor doesn't just W-shift away, but stays close to a pallet or window).
- Finding hooks, not sure why you even mention it, it's part of the getting someone hooked (but if you want a tap on your shoulder for finding hooks, here's a tap. good job!).
- Mindgaming Pallets, Moonwalk a couple of times while bloodlust does the rest of the job, I don't see the PhD in it. It's muscle memory, once again.
You've not mentioned a single thing that justifies the before mentioned sentiment.
But on the other hand, you gave an excellent demonstration that you could probably acquire the PhD of mental gymnastics.

20k is at least 1 game. 1 game that you have to play, just to earn the blood points in order to pay the prestige-tax/penalty. That's not even considering earning the blood points to progress through the blood web.
The 50k were unnecessary, and the 20k are still unnecessary. Prestige is not optional anymore, so there shouldn't be a prestige-tax/penalty. BHVR introduced the prestige tiers to get people to prestige their favorite characters. Why are people that prestige a char penalized for doing so? You have to prestige to open a new blood web, and as such, you're also forced to pay the prestige tax. That penalty is forced on you. Imagine that.
What a weird idea that penalty is. Reducing the grind by doing some things + introducing an arbitrary tax/penalty that requires grind. This just feels so out of place. I can't even comprehend the thought process behind it.
Those 20k will do nothing but anger people and are an inconvenience (something you don't want to have in a game, like: unstable lobbies, not being able to access the ingame shop and/or rift while being in a lobby, etc.). They should remove inconveniences from the game, not deliberately add them.

You know what would be nice for those of us with thousands of hours? Legacy 2.0.
That's the whole situation in a nutshell. It's like you're being promised something special for Christmas, but end up getting a pair of socks (and maybe I'm even too ungrateful for socks, because at least they're useful keeping my feet warm).

At this point, I would happily forego the cosmetic effect, that only I can see (and deactivate) and also forego the catch-up mechanic in exchange for 1,5M BPs per Prestige per Char. This would at least give players the freedom to level and/or prestige as they see fit (heck even switch roles and level the "other side" with the gained BPs).
And why is there a 50k fee to prestige, when it's no longer optional?
This whole thing feels lacklustre and strange. Not just the cosmetic effect that isn't a "cosmetic", but everything.

When survivors can screw around during the EGC, feel like there's zero risk involved, and t-bag at the exit gates for a solid minute while the killer watches, yeah, I'd call that survivor sided. If you've ever played killer you'd be aware of this.
Sorry, I can't help you. I tried to explain to you how it's not survivor sided, yet you come up with completely unrelated things (t-bagging at the exit gate) and try to tie them into EGC somehow.
EGC was meant to end the game. That's what it does. It does what it's supposed to do, and even more, if utilized/weaponized properly by a killer, given the opportunity.
There's nothing more to ask for. No further debuff related to EGC, no decreased amount of time, no whatever.
Just N O T H I N G.
