Lol. Killers constantly talk about they want to be the power role and survivors should fear them. But then when a survivor plays stealthy it’s boring?
Guess just being a survivor is a problem
I'm not a killer main. I don't want players like HB in any of my games, whichever side I'm playing. If I'm a survivor, they'll let me down by not pulling their weight. If I'm the killer, they'll probably die but it'll be boring. I'd rather have fun games than won games.

Nothing wrong with playing stealthily. It’s my preferred style as well. Killers don’t like it because it makes their job harder.
Playing stealthy becomes a problem only when the player just hides and does nothing or refuses to take aggro for someone on death hook. They’re not obligated to, but one shouldn’t get mad when the team leaves them to die.
Spoken like a true Blendette. "Nothing wrong with it." "...shouldn't get mad when team leaves them to die."
Stay out of my games, please. FYI, killers don't like it because it makes for really boring gameplay. Games are supposed to be fun.

I had to comment simply because I was on 88 yesterday, too. Twinsies 🤩. That's when I decided to run through the adepts though, so technically 97 now as 9 down. 29 days, 74MBP, 1k kills, 350 escapes.
I'm "currently working on" (I've never paid any attention to these before yesterday, so I'm not actively working on these) are apparently Punch Drunk - make 30 survivors oblivious 90% & With Scars to Show - escape 50 chases after being injured during said chase 78%. That second one seems surprising. Only 0.12% of gamers unlock it and I've managed it only
3439 times [Edit: Good maths Henry. 78/2=34 apparently. Genius 😜] all feels very hard to believe. Speaking of surprising, looking down the list, apparently I have never escaped using a key... -
Each to their own, buddy! 👌

Kate obviously. She's the hottest. How else would you pick who to play as?

And 100hours as killers. I need to say it too. Survivor is easy as hell since the new sbmm as solo
This must be code for "I'm a killer main and I hate my life right now. PLEASE NERF survivors already!".

Voice chat or ping system is basically Kindred on steroids - which means ever killer is getting genrushed in 4 minutes unless survivors are really, really not smart.
While I agree that this would close the gap between SWF and solo... This would increase toxicity by 400% at least (Just watch at all the raging streamers... you want to hear all of this in your games?) and the buffs to killers to compansate this should have to be huge... or maps would have to be completely changed - either remove half of tiles (which is bad, because survivor killer interaction is the most fun part during the trail) or add even more gens to repair (which is bad too, because three gen will be even easier to acomplish and noobs will be stomped even harder, not to mention actual holding m1 on gen is the most boring part of the game without the old ruin).
You seem to have spun the main positive that would come of such a change, as a negative.
Back when I was a noobie, I just assumed that this was a feature. I used to play a lot of Warzone, before I worked out that games are supposed to be fun, and obviously it's a feature there. I was a very happy bunny when my SQ games turned out to be silent. I think that "I don't want to speak to internet people.", sums up my feelings nicely.
A chat system would close the gap between SQ and SWF though, which would be fantastic for the game. Not fantastic enough to outweigh the downsides though IMO. From a game balancing POV, reducing that gap would huge. Let's not mislead ourselves by pretending that balancing the game would mean any large changes either. One tiny change such as making gens take 5% longer to complete. You wouldn't even notice it.

Survivor is way better except for completionists, at least if you just want to get a "good" perk selection and then just experiment, yeah. That much is pretty clear.
The problem is, if you focus on levelling even one Killer for a while, to the point of at least having a few perk choices, that's all well and good--well, until you want to try specific things (see my initial scourge hook complaint--I like the idea of scourge hooks and having the other one to go with Pinhead's would be fun, buuuut). Or, worse, outright play a new killer. Because MMR isn't super kind about it all, going into games with the RNG derp the Bloodweb's feeding you is not fun.
And personally, I find the least fun way to try a new character is "half blind, half deaf, with nothing to help with time pressure, or extra pressure on Survivors". I'm not going to get regularly matched against no-perk and random-perk survivors unless I do really badly, the extra disadvantages don't help make it enjoyable.
I believe the opposite to be true. That might be partly because I have ~200 hours of playing pig (that you probably don't have) and any new killer I try, will always be against survivors I find easy to do well against with any/no perks. I think the separate rankings for different killers is one of the few positives of the MMR because you can just jump onto any killer you've never used before and do absolutely fine. Even if that isn't the case for you, it surely soon would be the case after a few games, when your MMR decreases.
Look, I agree with you that the system is "a little steep" (as I said) for killer. I really do think you're making too much of it though. The game should not be designed so that any random noobie can just hop on and try any build they want. A lot of people enjoy grinds like this. You get it when you earn it. It encourages you to play more, which ultimately will lead to you buying more, so the developers will never make it too easy.
I'm personally in the situation now where I have every survivor and killer at 40, with Pig, PH and Kate having all perks. So I still have to dump multiple millions of BP into any killer I wish to truly experiment with. I've played ~700 hours to get here but honestly I never had any large annoyance at the system along the way. How many killers do you seriously want to play a lot of? If you want to master multiple, then the amount of BP you'll earn along the path of doing that will fund their webs just fine.

Yes. In the time that I played as Artist in PTB, I never saw even the Tier 1 version of it.
I play Xbox. I don't even know how the PTBs function. Not sure they're a good measure of this topic though.

It sounds like you guys at least agree with me that the situation for killer is much worse than for survivor. You're even giving the same reasons. I wouldn't have expected a guy with 500 posts on these forums (let alone 10k), to think the grind was too much though.
How many killers do you really fancy playing much, as a noob? If you're just doing a daily, or trying them out for a game or two, surely you don't need any perks at all. If you find a killer you enjoy, you'd then level that one up, no?

I don't want to try out new Killers because the amount of time it takes me to grind for even the perk that will let me grind at a less horrifying rate is disgusting. It's more than "a little steep."
You think that the grind for just the perk BBQ is "disgusting"?

At the very least, I would love to see them change the system to work so that survivors are affected by the survival of all four survivors. That way, the Blendettes can find themselves back in the noob games where they belong. Survivors who just leave instead of making late unhooks will also be justly punished and sent back to the noob games where they too belong.
You get the picture, I have more of a problem with the idea that survivors are ranked purely on their own survival, than I do with MMR being a thing. Why would they create a system that actively encourages people to play selfishly? What a fun environment in which the game will thrive... That said, getting rid of MMR completely would be better still.

I don't remember anyone saying the grind was fine
The grind is fine.
IN MY OPINION, it's acceptable for survivor, but perhaps a little steep for killer.
The two main reasons I believe it's worse for killer are:
1) The strong perks are much more spread around the characters/ more exist in the DLCs.
2) You need to unlock the perks on every killer you want to use them on. Survivors are all the same, so you only need to unlock on the one.
Most people however, new and old to the game, main survivor. Survivor grind is in my opinion, absolutely fine. More than fine. You can have the unlocks from just a single character and have a top tier build with ease. ALL FREE. The free characters have amazing perks.
Generic: Kindred. Spine Chill. Resilience.
Meg: Sprint Burst. Adrenaline.
Bill: Borrowed Time. Unbreakable.
David: WGLF. Dead Hard.
If you've barely played the game. You're still a certified noob. You've earned 2-3M BP. You can be playing as one of those three survivors, with the perks unlocked from the other two. You have nine fantastic perks to choose from, as well as all the other mediocre ones. It speaks VOLUMES, that I haven't listed Jake above, as he only has a single top tier perk, which is more than most survivors. He has Iron Will (only level 30 too), which is arguably the best survivor perk in the game (most of the competition for that title coming from perks listed above).
I don't think new players can have any complaints about the strength of the perks available to them, or even the variation available to them. I really don't. So they can't try out every build in the game... Well that's the fun of the grind, but if you're a noob and you think you've not got access to top tier builds, then the good news is that you're just plain wrong.

To answer as literally as possible: killer. SQ is a relaxing experience where you're not using your brain for half of the game. Killer requires constant concentration because you're always doing something. Killer requires constant effort, so it's a more "difficult" experience, right? Simple. I don't think that's quite what you meant though.
I've played more survivor than killer, as most have, but the standard of the players in my average games is clearly higher when I'm playing as killer. Therefore survivor must be harder, right? If I'm able to be correctly matched into games of a higher standard, playing the side I'm less experienced in, that must be the easier side to play, right?
I don't think anybody has brought up the time of day of the games played. It's not as noticeable as survivor and most people survivor main, so maybe that's why. Try playing killer in the evening, when there's long waits for survivors. The MMR at that time of day is basically "OMG a killer! Get them in a game NOW! Any game! Forget skill! All that matters is wait time and these noobs have been waiting for 5 mins!". Sunday evening just gone I played 8 games as killer. 32 kills. I'm not a weirdo who counts games, but when you're getting a 4k every game, you get curious... Yesterday I played 5 or 6 games. Until the last game of the evening (which was a 4k with 1 gen completed), every game was a 1k,2k or 3k. No 0k or 4ks. Well balanced tough games. FYI not a single DC or AFK in any game in either session.
SQ may suck at times, for sure. I personally enjoy the variation, until I get that selfish team mate who doesn't like being face camped and kills themself in a rage, turning a 1k/2k into a 4k and rewarding the killer for camping. My experience is that I probably escape close to 50% and enjoy most games. As killer, I probably average 2k a game during none peak hours, maybe slightly less. My experience as killer is mostly similarly enjoyable to survivor, but a much more try hard intense type of experience, and because of that I have to consider killer to be the more "difficult" experience.
